Size of room amd breakfast. Petrol station infront, very busy road, but closed for night.
the owner manager was great ... gave wonderful suggestions about what to see in the area and where to go to eat we could not get the air conditioning to work ... some confusion as to whether we had already paid ... have to check credit card statements when we get home
The very fine restaraunt, great location by the lake, yet a reasonably quite location. There are some maintenance issues. A noisey A/C in room meant we had to change rooms (this did not present the staff with a problem). Shower leaked on to the floor and the safe did not work.
It is a nice newly built hotel in calm surroundings. The restaurant opens at 7.00 in the evening (a bit late) Very noisy and screaming children in the restaurant. We wanted another table but the younger chefin at the hotel did not understand our problem. She was not a pro.
Beautiful view of the hillside, small view of the lake. Balcony in the roof. Very clean. Food good in the restaurant, pleasant staff
Very good value for money, fully renovated rooms, good restaurant. It was a little bit difficult to find the hotel.
A stunning piece of architecture with a real wow factor. Posh without being pretentious. We were told that the very expensive restaurant catered for vegetarians when in reality they tolerated them only. Had a very disappointing main course as part of an otherwise lovely meal.
The Villa Crespi is an architectural masterpiece and a joy to stay at. Sop well appointed and comfortable Slightly too laid back at times so that they took the eye off the needs of the client and a bit pompous in the restaurant
We found Micheal very helpful, warm and friendly. The rooms were nice, the location is fabulous. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. A part from the lovely smiley girl at breakfast time, we felt the staff in the restaurant were rather surly and not very approachable compared to other michelain starred restaurants we have been to.
Very elegant and comfortable hotel. Excellent breakfast. Hotel is situated ca 10 minutes walking far from the village.
The proximity to the square and the lake was fantastic. I loved the views from our loft room. Apart from the breakfast staff the hotel staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Unfortunatley i didn't like the breakfast staff. They were not very friendly. I tried to order a cooked breakfast but it was inedible as it wasn't anywhere near cooked. New breakfast staff who actually like their jobs will only enhance the hotel.
The shower and the amazing view from the balcony. Shower needed a better/ deeper tray to collect the water.
It was right on the lake. This wasn't like a hotel more but more like a block of apartments. Noisy ones with paper thin walls. The floor was made entirely of rough concrete and we had a young baby crawling around. He cut his toes on the floor. The cot provided was a travel cot and broken on one side and the mattress was so thin we had to layer it with several blankets for the babys comfort.
Incredible breakfast, nice view It should have clear guidance for the method of transport to the hotel from the train station and clear indication to where to check in
Reception, restaurant staff excellent. Breakfast truly international, and generous. Bed not exactly comfortable. Cleaning staff cleaned well but forgot to replace towels and other things in the room. Had a free bar fridge but it remained empty the entire time. Powdered milk only for your tea and coffee. However location is excellent. The associated restaurant Hotel Olina was the best restaurant we ate in. Very nice front of house and restaurant staff work hard to ensure you are well nourished. Great food. Easy walking access to lake and village. Remember to leave your car at entrance to village and take the free train down the hill. Or if you are travelling light you can stroll into town very beautiful location. The 'free' bar fridge which was empty ;-). Lack of UHT or fresh milk in room for a cup of tea. Both of which I asked about but was not followed up on.
The location, view and the funky room Bed low and no reading light
Interesting design elements, nice location, except for the comment below. The lady who greeted us and checked us in was charming, but the man who was setting up the breakfast was rude. Difficult to get to. Only window opened on to the main square right above the most popular bar in town. Very noisey late at night, even though it was a Thursday.
Location of hotel; room was adequate but had a fantastic shower Hotel was very noisy; breakfast was poor; struggled to get an iron, when we did get one, they didn't have an ironing board to go with it. Hotel did not have its own reception - this was based in a separate building - therefore there was rarely any staff around if you needed anything
The hotel stuff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was a right side of the old Piazza. We had difficulties in access to the hotel by our car. The access street was very narrow with a lot of people during summer time. You have to go thought the street for unloading your luggage and drive back the street to designated parking lot where was far from the hotel. And you have to do the same things again when you leave. Addition to this, the reception of the hotel is apart from the hotel building. With my poor Italian, I could not understand where the reception was.
Wonderful location overlooking the square and lake, incredible selection of food at the breakfast buffet, rooms spacious and staff very friendly and helpful. Showers are a bit overly modern and tended to leak water into room if not careful.
amazing view, a very nice building, superbe staff, good food, swimming pool, very close to Arona which is a great little town. It has easy access for children's strollers and for people in a wheel chair. It is next to the busy lake road and the train tracks, however one does not hear the noise too much. Unfortunately there is no WiFi in the rooms.
Very nice place which has been carefully rennovated to a high standard. Large rooms, lovely grounds and excellent staff! Road up to the hotel is a lttle rocky and could be resurfaced
All staff at the hotel were wounderful. Location is very good.Nice dinner and breakfast.Especially hotel staff recommended local wine was so nice. Need a fridge in the room.
Lovely and beautiful restored farmcastle, with a beautiful terrace for breakfast and dining outside. Kind and helpfull staff. Good Italian food! Nice atmosphere. The spiral staircase that gives you a hard time to get your suitcase up to your room. Not to find with GPS, called hotel for driving instructions.
Hotel situated next to nature trail, so nice for short walks through the forest. Close to Lago d'Orta. Great coffee from the bar. Hotel faced directly onto main road. Some decoration very "70s English hotel" so didn't go with the modern building or furniture - doilies under everything, plastic flowers, yellow floor-length table cloths, cloth bows on chair covers. Rooms very nice, but could do with some pictures or photos on walls as a bit sparse.
Very friendly and helpful staff and clean, quiet, modern accommodation You needed a car!
everything exceeded our expectations .. the resturant offered v good food and service. hehe the shower holded did not work well ....room 212 but its a small thing.
The staff were friendly and the hotel was located in beautiful area, ideal for relaxing. No
Friendly staff, clean room, free parking
Panoramic view from room and terrace were outstanding. The hotel is small and well appointed in a contemporary style. I look forward to my next stay.
Hotel Bel Sit, Easy to find on the lake edge of lake Maggiore,Rooms and Hotel are immaculantly presented and very comfortable,Staff and Management are very friendly and Helpful,Hotel although on the road side it has very good under building parking and is quiet, We would certainly return if we are in the area again, well worth recommending. No complaints or dislikes

We were upgraded to a suite and it was excellent - large and comfortable with large balcony directly overlooking the lake - but even the lake front doubles had their own balconies and access to the private swimming dock for the hotel. We did a five-hotel swing through the lakes area and this was by far the nicest hotel.
we got a suite for a very good price: 2 nights, 3 persons for 340€! The suite was very nice. It's directly at Lago maggiore --> we enjoyed very much swimming.
Lovely location, beautifully decorated, clean as could be, a wonderful breakfast, good beds...and totally charming!
Location- adjacent to the town square, on the lake. Restaurant- very good food at reasonable prices overlooking the lake. Room- average size but a small balcony and a view of the lake. Sun decks on 2 floors overlooking the lake You have to pay for WiFi and it only works near the lobby. At breakfast, you have to pay extra for eggs and a refill on hot drinks. Though you can swim in the lake from the hotel, the access was poor.
The hotel was anything but busy when we stayed there on the nights of the 12th and 13th June but the staff were friendly and attentive and the service was good. The hotel is not located in the most interesting area but lake Orta is about a ten minute drive away. The plumbing works but is different!
The staff members were attentive and helpful. I chose this hotel sight unseen for proximity to the airport and yet near the lake reason. It was not on the lake and not that close to the airport, but it was enjoyable. It is not a walking distance to anything spectacular, but I did enjoy driving to nearby attractions.
Staff. Poor breakfast, quite difficult to find, rooms should be renovated.
A clean, functional and spartan room.Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant they hotel suggested was also very good. Could not get wi fi to work at al with my netbook (nor could other guests)l but could use the hotel computer.
Superb breakfast facilities - biggest selection ever seen! Hotel's restaurant in Orta was also superb.
Excellent variety of local produce available every morning for breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpfull. The free coffee and cakes was a thoughtful and well used facility. Having to pay for parking at the hotel was poor particularly staying for a week.
the breakfast was execelent, there was a good variety of food. the hotel has a good restorant at the sity, "Olina", recommended to visit
Very comfortable, great breakfast, close to train station.
Comfortable bed; good-sized bathroom with great shower; unbelievable breakfasts - the most variety I have ever seen! Nothing
for italy excellent breakfast , accomodation ok friendly staff no complaints , only thing ; maybe lakeview only from the toprooms
The hotel was clean and the breakfast was very good The walk back up from the central square. There are no footpaths, therefore late at night it can be dodgy.
Reception team is really kind
Service and breakfast The rooms were not excellent. Furniture on the veranda a little broken, would be nice with a good sitting chair in the room for reading.
The location was excellent and as described at bookings.com. The breakfast was delicious. The apricot croissant were fabulous.
The night guard wasn't very serious with handing out the keys of the room. It would be easy for strangers to use our keys... Not safe to leave your belongings in the room!
Silent, nice, small hotel N/A
Well priced room rates. Good hotel restaurant with 15 Euro 3 course menu. Train Station is Omegna 7 - 10 min walk from station Had a room overlooking the town square with the backdrop of the mountains.
very relaxing phone in room did not work
A comfortable room at a good price. Good food in the dining room. The hotel is central with a good view of town and lake Some fittings in the bathroom needed repair, in particular the door. Unfortunately the central position means ltraffic noise at night
View from room. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. No air conditioning.
Friendly Staff, Good food, excellent location right by side of lake, good views of lake and town from hotel room and restaurant. little noisy as haloween was on during stay.
Fine a bit difficult to get first time - one way traffic
Location on the lake, very affordable and great quality prix fix menu in the in house restaurant.
The room we had was more like a small apartment than simply a hotel room. We had to climb several floors to get there but it was our choice, and worth it with a view across the rooftops to Lago D'Orta. The location is excellent and while the decor and furniture were quirky and more than a little Spartan we would not hesitate to stay there again. .
Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts. It wouldn't suit anyone with mobility problems
It was cheap, clean and recently decorated/refurbished by the looks of it The hotel is near a school and the children are out playing and making noise early in the morning.
I had stayed here in 2009 and requested the same room and they had succeeded in my request. the hotel staff were great letting me print my reurn boarding cards Thanks tizannia Just fab staff Nothing, for would be travellers there is a little noise, some rooms over look the street. But its quaint and its a bit of local life
The friendliness of the staff is unsurpassed and the Restaurant Olina is worth a trip to Orta san Giulio. The breakfast buffet can match any 5 star in terms of selection. Location is as central as it gets and the room we had was large. Signora Daniela obviously sourced the furniture at the 1973 IKEA sale. Time to consider a visit to the next sale or alternatively to a local garage sale for a refresher
The breakfasts were excellent. Excellent hot water in the bathroom. Discount for meals in nearby excellent restaurant. Location - is easy walking distance to the centre of the town. I was in a room not in the main hotel so had to walk to breakfast in another place. The weather was chilly for much of the time and it was impossible to get the the central heating to work. The room was clean but very basic.
The central location and breakfast
The view from the hotel they placed us in Hotel Ari was excellent. The staff were extremely attentive. The attached restaurant was superb. We ate there every evening.
Good location and ambience. The breakfast is something to savour!!! No bad points
friendly helpful staff lots of steps to room
The owners were very helpful, the staff very good(gave us hot water for tea making -wish Europeans would include this service).Sadly the lovely pool could not be used as it rained.
The situation overlooking the lake, the quality of the internal maintenance and decoration, and the fact that we didn't have to put up with anybody else's taste in pictures on the walls of our room. Nothing except that, in the five days we stayed there, we didn't get to see the sun even once!
The owners were incredibly helpful and were completely welcoming. There was not one question they couldn't answer. This hotel is definitely international as well. The owner speaks English, Italian, FGrench and German fluently. I would most definitely stay here again!!
the view from our balcony was magnificent..a great place to stay while visiting Orta
Position overlooking Lake Orta, Island of Orta and Orta San Guilio itself. A very family run hotel with attentive staff which always makes a holiday memorable.
Nice position for a good breakfast on the nice balcony, the staff are very kind and the restaurant serve novell cusine, good and tasty, raccomended place!
Position,helpfulness of staff and restaurant
Staff very unwilling to give much site-seeing info. Our waiter in the restaurant was very rude. As a result of this, we chose to go elsewhere for dinner the 2nd evenign of our stay.
beautiful location! good breakfast dated rooms
this hotel had good reviews and it did not fail to deliver. The staff couldn't do enough for us, especially when we were delayed from the airport and arrived after midnight, the official closing time of reception. they not only stayed on until our arrival at 00.30 a.m. but offered to prepare us a supper of delicious hams, cheeses, bread and drinks for a midnight feast in our room. We insisted they added any cost to our bill but it was a life-saver. the hotel was ideally placed for access to the medieval town of Orta San Guillio, other towns on lake Orta and a half hour drive to Stresa on Lake Maggiore. Visitors would need a car as we did not see any public transport. We would certainly return here again!!
The setting is idyllic and the hotel very comfortable and spacious. The food is quite exceptional and the staff are all multi-lingual and attentive. The area lends itself to sightseeing while being itself quiet and peaceful. We had some reservations about safety in the bath.
the fantastic views, friendlyness and helpfulness of the staff and the food in the restaurant The hot drinks machine we had to use at breakfast I could not get a decent cup of coffee
Very friendly staff, beautiful location overlooking the lake with views on the mountains. Need to book a lakeside room. Real Italien atmosphere. Staff speaks english, french and italien. Super hotel to relax without the children. Speedboot hire and watertaxi over the lake at the hotel. Super! No
Location, Facilities, room & food No
Staff efficient and friendly. Food of a high standard. Advertised beach seemed to be non existent but possibly flooded due to the recent bad weather.
The hotel staff were very welcoming and attentive to the needs of ourselves and our young son. The room was clean and bright with a good shower. Breakfast was quite good too. Just a lovely welcoming place. The babysitter was excellent! The restaurant attached to the hotel was mediocre in quality, overpriced and the staff there were somewhat surly and sloppy in attention to detail - not giving us the wine list at first, running out of bread, etc. It was bizarre - apparently they operate as separate entities. It is a shame - the restaurant lets down the excellent hotel.
Friendly staff. Lake views. Free onsite parking. A busy road passes between the hotel and the lake so traffic can be noisy but OK with air conditioning on at night. Restaurant on site but need to drive to nearby villages for alternatives.
Nice 3* hotel in accessible location, nice large room with fantastic view (only spoiled by stupid electricity cable hung between two poles on the other side of the road..). The hotel is somewhat isolated, would be difficult to reach without a car. Very noisy road in front(admittedly mostly during daytime), mainly due to motorbikes with noisy pipes testing their rev limiters..(depite it being a 50 km/h limit!). Wedding reception in hotel caused parking problems and noise.. (til 0030 anyway..) - could have been handled better..
not very easy to find location; the front desk close at 23:00 - not 24 hrs
