Bathroom onsen are great. ( But limited time to go)
Beautiful, nice, clean, quiet place. Will come back soon with my bicycle to explore the surroundings.
For what I was expecting, nothing. Completely exceed my expectations.
Very friendly staff, some of them speak a little bit of English. Breakfast was delicious, but too expensive. We had the same meal in Kumamoto for half the price. We loved the family baths! They have four of them, we never had to wait to use one. The Onsen inside of each family bath is fantastic and the temperature is pleasant. Towels and Yukatas are provided. Daily room clean-up is offered.
The Minshuku is located next to the main road, so you could hear cars and trucks passing by - even when windows are kept closed. Bus connections to Aso Station are not that frequent and the last bus is around five.
Gorgeous ryokan! Had such a wonderful experience here. Room was huge for the four of us, and futons were very comfy. Being able to use the private bathing facilities, plus private onsen was great! We had the whole dinner experience which was amazing and so much food! Worth every penny.
The shared indoor slippers was a little concerning. Would have preferred to have a pair that I was sure had been cleaned since the last user...
