Cons: I liked it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable. Good location at the top of the village. Parking a short distance away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel in a great town. The host was very welcoming. It was great to get parking advice ahead of the visit, especially in a town where you are not sure if you should go up a street or not. Restaurant in the hotel was just perfect. The food was fantastic. The bathroom was modern and spacious. Bed super comfy.
Cons: Not any space in the room to put a case. But I expected this.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location as long as you don’t mind hills-but why would you go to Vézelay if you didn’t? Dinner was very good, breakfast was OK only. Friendly staff.
Cons: Room 3 was nice, but if you open one window you get smells and sounds from kitchen. If you open the other window you get the odours from smokers in the beer garden below. It didn’t really concern us, but might drive some crazy. Avoid room 3 and you’re probably OK.
10.0 Excellent

SY Hôtel les Glycines - Vezelay - Building
6
9.1 Excellent (750 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at SY Hôtel les Glycines in Vezelay, you'll be just steps from Eternity's Hill and Vezelay Abbey. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old building but with very modern comfortable rooms. Peaceful
Cons: Nothing We stayed on the hottest day on record so air con would have been good but probably not necessary most of the time.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: 2/3rds the way up Vezelay's one long major street, the hotel is ideally located in one of the most perfect of French villages. The room was large, well-appointed, clean, with a large comfortable queen-size bed, and had a good-sized bathroom with a good shower. The breakfast, though priced separately, was a great value for money event. The staff was solicitous and helped even before our arrival and throughout our three-night stay. Our room, number 104, had a nice view over the front courtyard and its wisteria vines, past the facing storefronts, to the fields below the hilltop upon which Vezelay is perched. And the hotel had an elevator to ou floor.
Cons: Two minor improvements would help the bathroom: hooks on the wall or door to hang clothes or towels and, since there is only one sink, more shelving for women to spread out their toiletries. And finally, a warning that the foldout sofa bed might work for children, but my adult daughter had to pull the mattress onto the floor to avoid the rigid middle-of-the bed framework. Obviously, this last problem only arose with our having three adults in the room and would not impact a couple. My wife and I would love to return to this hotel and this village.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stylish contemporary well equipped
Cons: No parking means access difficult
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Stylish room, fab restaurant, spot on location.
Cons: On the top floor very hot unless noisy air con cranked up to max
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Stylish hotel in great location
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a gorgeous property in a perfect location. Our room was lovely and clean with a beautiful view of the cathedral.
Cons: We had a family room for 4 people. This meant that the kids were on the pull out couch. This would have been fine but the couch was super old and the mattress was a trough into which both kids kept sliding. So our 10 year old son slept on the brick floor. With just a sheet. Not a big deal but could have been better.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location & restaurant
Cons: Very warm, shower not functional, breakfast not very good and overpriced
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building, great location
Cons: Challenge to locate the best parking spot
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This quirky but charming hotel is situated at the top of the hill in Vezelay and has variety of rooms each with a different character. No bar means the lovely courtyard at the front of the hotel remains very quite as guests seek refreshment elsewhere. Breakfast was good with some very strong coffee.
Cons: The ability to have a drink would have been nice but not enough to put me of visiting again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place

Cons: Nothing, everything was absolutely perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful property. The location and drive to Chablis is stunning through back roads
Cons: Said it had a wellness center, sound proof rooms and presumably a hot jacuzzi... but didn’t. Staff did everything to help though.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous chateau complete with moat dating from the 12th century, set amongst quaint villages and countryside. It was a real pleasure and privilege to stay here. The gardens are beautifully kept and there is a feel of how the various owners over the centuries would have lived. The staff were enthusiastic and attentive.
Cons: Meals and drinks are a little costly but acceptably so considering the offerings the chateau has.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, as was dinner. Our room was comfortable and large with a good sized bathroom. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is lovely as are the grounds.
Cons: A small 'niggle' is that in our room there wasn't an electric socket close to a mirror. This often happens in hotels and is very annoying for women wishing to use straighteners or other electric devices to style hair etc!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Character, Charm , great welcome , professional staff .Peaceful location.
Cons: Nothing very much ...but perhaps our bedroom was a touch tired....pink bathroom a little bit dated .

Pros: Charming English-french country ambiance, cozy rooms with all that is needed and some extras (you don’t see a fridge in B&Bs often, as well as British TV). We especially appreciated to see our national flag over the house, that was really touching!
Cons: Nothing to complain!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All!!Thanks to Martin and Ann for the wonderful welcome. The house is lovely in a very quite village. Breakfast was rich and delicious. We felt like at home. We hope to have the chance to come back again!!!
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: Warm hospitality of hosts.
Cons: Unexpected extra heating charge not in pre-paid total of Booking.com. Felt cheated by this. Amount not large, but the principle is that all charges should be explained clearly and in advance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were wonderful. We got a puncture. They went beyond what was expected to help us sort it out.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our host and hostess where very pleasant and welcomed us warmly, freely chatting with us and making us feel at home. Rooms were comfortable and being Americans, we loved the English speaking TV that was provided. The internet service was as good as we required as well....I'd stay here again and recommend it to family that wanted an escape to rural Burgundy! Thank you so much for having us....:-)
Cons: We had no issues..........:-) (A country omelette would have been a nice touch!!)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived (late), Martin went out of his way to make us feel at home! He hoisted a South African flag, took time to show our children his newly hatched chicks and even produced a cream that healed our boy’s swollen foot from an insect bite a few days earlier. Dinner reservations, directions, comfy beds and a wonderful breakfast were all a part of this lovely experience! Martin and Ann’s B&B is simply lovely and immaculately clean - it will be our usual stopover for years to come! Thank you to our wonderful hosts.
Cons: N/a

We had the entire second floor, including a separate meditation room, everything was so artistically done, immaculate and spacious. A 7-8 minute drive into the famed medieval town, Vezelay, but away from everything in the quiet countryside, with beautiful vistas.

Pros: Great restaurant as well as friendly and helpful staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Quite room not available but we were advised beforehand. Decided to eat in restaurant and the food and the service were both excellent. Information on booking.com website re restaurant opening times were incorrect.
Cons: No facilities to make a cup of tea or coffee. Early morning traffic noise. Problem with making credit payment due to issues with hotel connection confirmed by MasterCard!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and efficiently run, Claire ensured a very personal feel and showed an interest in our wellbeing. The hotel was very clean. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Well situated in a lovely area.
Cons: The bedroom was quite small and the hot water took a time to come through - I suspect our room was at the end of the line.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast plenty of choice and to eat. Great coffee.
Cons: All great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely garden and food. Staff were friendly
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and the restaurant are well managed. The tartare de daurade was a bit sour, the lamb sligthtly overdone, but the terrace was delightful and in good taste, the service impeccable, the cheeses from the region not only interesting but good to eat and the Marc de Bourgogne powerful and delicious. This a highly profeesional outfit, to which I accord the epithet 'most agreeable'.
Cons: The shower in the bath could only be entered and left at some risk to life and limb.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms, spotless, well furnished.
Cons: Expensive option for your evening meal, but you can always drive elsewhere.
7.0 Good
Pros: The evening meal was delicious, very varied menu choices and the mixed dessert plate a dream! We had requested a sheet and blanket instead of duvet, which they kindly provided.
Cons: Being English we would have loved to have tea making facilities in the room. It was exceptionally hot, so the plastic/rubber mattress cover made us sweat profusely in the night - not very comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A lovely quirky hotel in a great location. The staff were very welcoming to my wife and I - and our dog. The dinner and breakfast were superb. A very nice hotel that we would stay in again.
Cons: After a long drive, we would have appreciated tea/coffee making facilities in our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a really fantastic small hotel in an especially beautiful part of Burgundy. The best things about it are the superb cuisine and the extremely friendly and attentive owners. Anyone wanting to stay in the Morvan (which I thoroughly recommend) would be hard pressed to find somewhere better.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: All ok
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Abbaye de Reigny - Esprit de France in Vermenton, you'll be 14 minutes by car from Caves of Arcy-sur-Cure. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: only when we called to announce a late arrival did we realise that this was a B&B-place without restaurant. However, as we were cycling and it was late, the residental owners spontaneously offered to prepare some meal for us, which turned out as very nice home-cooking, and much better than we would have expected under those circumstances.
Cons: mistakingly we thought that we could access the site from the forest footpath, but this turned out to be wrong. In fact, not only is there no descending path from the forest, but there is also a river in between. Our mistake, not to be blamed on the guesthouse! Note that breakfast is served around a large communal table in a historic room, so no privatge tables for 2 or 4; not necessarily a problem, though, more a matter of preference.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Louis-Marie and Béatrice were the perfect hosts. They provided us with a perfect lunch on arrival and we felt part of the family. They also proposed a lovely restaurant in Accolay and personally provided transport. The Abbaye is in the perfect rural setting. Highly recommended.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were so welcoming, the property is stunning! As you drive up to the Abbaye it really is the WOW factor. The owners were kind enough to drive us to a nearby restaurant for dinner and the chef of the restaurant brought us home! Breakfast in the gardens overlooking the beautiful view was perfect (eggs from the owners own chickens), more than you could eat! I would definately reccomend a stay at the Abbaye de Reigny-true french living!
Cons: The room was very hot-but it is the middle of summer, so what do you expect!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very lovely and happy to share their lovely abbey. The breakfast was superb - a very French offering with cooked eggs too. The breakfast room is a lovely room in itself. Upstairs the library was wonderful and the sitting area to read was special. Merci Beatrice - vous êtes dans mon coeur en Australie!
Le Moulin Des Templiers - Avallon - Bedroom
13
8.7 Excellent (800 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Pontaubert, Le Moulin des Templiers is in a regional park, within a 10-minute drive of Tour de l'Horloge and Musee de l'Avallonnais. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The scenic location;the good bed and shower; the tranquillity and the excellent breakfast.
Cons: The evening meal is just acceptable: no meaningful choice and no attempt to make interesting what is presented.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The quiet location in woody area next to river
Cons: Small rooms. “Dinner” at night is overpriced for just a salad with cold cuts. I do not recommend eating there apart from breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: - location & view. - friendly, proactive, expert staff - high quality in room amenities. - proximity - croissant was Good!
Cons: - wifi is unsecured, and weak in some areas - room air ventilation not good, need mesh screen on the windows to be able to open them without inviting bugs from the forest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place! Kind staff, very beautiful surroundings! The room is comfortable, bathroom big, we loved the space outside on the river ! Hope to come back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast
Cons: Food was lovely, breakfast superb, but perhaps a little more choice for the evening meal
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, excellent outdoor dining, good room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Localization, breakfast, bathroom
Cons: Acoustic
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Evening meal was not particularly good, a cold dimmer with little choice, and not much choice of wine/drink. We thought that for the cost of two nights it was expensive. The staff were very good and the location was excellent.
Cons: The hotel needs to think about it's evening meal and give more choice as there was only a charcuterie, fish or vegetarian choice of the same thing for dinner, so we ate elsewhere on the second night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was beautiful! And the staff very friendly. The room and the bathroom was very clean. Very peaceful place!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully renovated old mill right by the stream. Sensitive modernisation. We had a lovely large room with a humongous shower (While we didn’t need it that room is fully wheelchair accessible. Rustic and delicious country style dinner and a fantastic breakfast with lots of fruit, cold cuts and cheese as well as cereal and of course French breads and croissants.
Cons: Not so much a question of not liking anything than pointing out where a small change might make a big difference. Tea kettle is provided in the room as is a small number of teabags etc. However, the cups are too tiny to use for tea and so are even the two paper water cups from the bathroom. It would be easy to put a couple of the nice mugs provided for breakfast in the rooms.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Basic room above the bar, bar owner could not do enough for you, breakfast was ok with homemade jams, yoghurt and fresh bread, secure parking for a couple of motorcycles to the rear.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, spacious room, excellent breakfast including several delicious home-made jams and preserves. Invited to use on-site kitchen and to store our food and drink in the fridge and freezer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The people there are incredible, they really tried hard to make sure everything is ok. There is a kitchen with a microwave and fridge. A big bonus for me! The bed was like sleeping in a cloud - very comfortable.
Cons: All very good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: next to historic center; quiet; safe parking for motorcycle; excellent continental breakfast with homemade jellies
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great coffee in the morning and very friendly owners.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central with pubs / restaurants a 2 minute walk. Very nice lady with decent English running the place. Comfy & clean. Off street, free, parking in a locked courtyard
Cons: My room had no window & the bathroom window opened into a stairwell with a glass roof so very warm in sunny weather. Probably why the room had 3 fans !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is the second time we have stayed here and we love it. The owner is super friendly, allowed us to choose our preferred room and explained everything about our stay. Free parking in the square opposite the hotel was great. If you have a motorbike there is a locked yard. We chose a room at the front looking out on the square, and the double glazing was excellent to stop any noise. Breakfast was juice, tea / coffee, fresh bread and amazing homemade jams. Simple but tasty.
Cons: The rooms are a little basic, but this is not a problem.

Cons: Nothing really!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Emily was most accommodating. The location was in the heart of town and there was a Sunday market in the square that the hotel is in. We felt like we were in a spot that was enjoyed by the locals of the area and they all seemed to know each other and made us feel right at home.
Cons: Don't change a thing.

All the riche s of Burgundy are on your doorstep: Basilica of Saint Marie-Madelaine in Vézelay, Les Fontaines Salées archeological site, Château de Bazoches, Guédelon, Saint-Fargeau, Noyers-sur-Serein, Abbey of Fontenay, Flavigny, Morvan Natural Park, Chablis, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfy, water hot, breakfast delicious and convenient to A6 .
Cons: It was all great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location. Comfortable and spotlessly clean room. Lovely dinner. What made our stay so special was the service - more what you would expect from a small family-owned hotel than a chain. We had asked for a ground floor room near reception because I have bad knees and we were immediately allocated the very nearest room. When we arrived the chef was picking fresh herbs from his small vegetable plot in front of the hotel. Well done all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed in Avalon previously, and knew that this hotel is very handy for an overnight stop when travelling south. Clean, comfortable and excellent air conditioning, essential in heatwave. Good value with breakfast included.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The location is lovely, very pastoral, and the very good breakfast seems to be carefully planned.
Cons: The single beds were comfortable but awkward because the mattress layer added on top does not seem to be anchored to the rest, therefore slides to one side or the other leaving an awkward and slightly unstable slant. Have found this in at least one other Ibis.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed. Very quiet room. Close to motorway. Free parking. Very hard-working staff. Delicious croissants!
Cons: Would have been nice to have air-conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Walls are too thin, and not in any way soundproof.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very near the motorway, yet very quiet. Beautiful nature with the Morvan park very near. Lakes and forests to hike in. Very clean and very comfortable. It was a great find.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is rural but only a few minutes from Avallon. Its quiet and homely ... restaurant was good value. We enjoyed our stay. It was a welcome break point heading back to the airport in Paris from Lyon area. Staff were friendly .. rooms smallish but very comfortable.
Cons: Not being able to make a cup of tea in our room ... a small jug etc would have been very welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel for overnight stop on long journey.
Cons: Convenient location with free parking and easy access. Restaurant open 7 days. Great breakfast. Very competitive prices.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient and yet very pleasant rural location. Evening meal good - breakfasts very good. Staff generally helpful.
Cons: Having to ask three times for a carafe of water with our evening meal was a little frustrating .

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and an elevator (lift). Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really nice location and pleasant surprise: unexpected charming village
Cons: Despite being hotel guest, no availability ( or effort made to accommodate us ) in the beautiful restaurant
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Apparently the management takes the comments to heart. Last time we were here, i commented that the room we stayed in was worn out, the beds and mattresses were worn out too, the shower was broken and there was only one socket in the entire room. As we had the exact same room this time, we were impressed to see that our comments had been read and had been acted upon. The mattresses have been exchanged, the shower is fixed, and there were two more sockets available. The restaurant is still phenomenal, in quality as well as prices. For this kind of quality I am however willing to pay the rather steep prices. I guess that is why we keep coming back.
Cons: I actually couldn't say what could or should have been better. Of course the prices are on the high side, but this time it was worth it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful.
Cons: Air conditioner was very noisy.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A little dated but comfortable hotel.Good sized room.
Cons: Restaurant shut on Monday nights. Also menu was quite limited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stay! When you think of a beautiful french hotel then this is it. Very friendly staff, very good breakfast and dinner!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here before, so knew what to expect. The restaurant is outstanding, and the staff are very welcoming, professional, and helpful. The breakfast is standard. The rooms are not cramped like so many hotels in a similar price range.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was a buffet. We were able to eat on the terrace in front of the hotel. Breakfast was mostly what you would expect but their were no hot trays. Personally I was not disappointed because usually they consist of soggy bacon and overcooked eggs. There was a poached egg machine so you could cook your own. There was a lovey selection of yummy ham, cheese, cakes, pastries cereal etc. The coffee was an nespresso machine that made better coffer than is often provided at other hotels. Our room had a balcony which was very nice facing the square. the bed was comfortable. There was a large shower that worked well but the door fitted poorly, but this was not a problem. Dinner was very 'michelin'! If you are a big eater you might want a pizza afterwards but it was excellent. There are cheaper places to eat. The staff were very friendly. The dog is not allowed in the restaurant which would have been a big problem if the weather prevented us eating on the terrace. Vezelay is a small town but busy with visitors. The road up to the abbey has many interesting arty shops. The abbey itself is undergoing renovation on its exterior so you cannot see the interesting bits. While we were there they were having a sung mass. The sound is mesmerising and intense. We will be visiting again.
Cons: We spent more money on the meal than we intended. I agreed to the reservation on line without seeing the menu. We spent 90Euro on the basic meal. If you are into very well prepared interesting food its great. If you are on a budget go somewhere else. Make sure you tell then you have dog when you reserve your room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay couldn’t have been better. The hotel was perfect in every way, the staff were so helpful, the food exceptional, and amenities first class. All up a real gem!
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff took great care of my wife's food intolerances even for breakfast.
Cons: The room was spacious and well furnished but with no picture at all on the walls, and the small window looking straight into the hotel restaurant less than 2 meters away was uninviting : we didn't expect a view of the basilica but no view of the countryside around either was a bit depressing.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: A little run down. Restaurant was very pricey for the set menu but not so bad for the a la carte although this is not clear from the menu where it appears the other way around. Set menu had very small portions. Service was very poor and was not allowed to table 30 minutes early despite being free. Then had to wait another 30 minutes to order!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. At foot of hill that goes up to the basilica.

Pros: Very helpful staff
Cons: More croissants at breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room clean and fairly spacious with very large, comfortable bed. Air con effective. TV had BBC news channel. An excellent shower in the bathroom. Nice pool and terrace area. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Rooms not very soundproof. The first night was ok but the second night we had noisy neighbours. A kettle would be nice in the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms made for a good night’s sleep at this hotel. The breakfast, although fairly expensive, was good. Once we were able to find the hotel (GPS problems), it became apparent it is located in an interesting area- especially if you have a car.
Cons: There was an odd, strong, “perfumey” odor that permeated everything in the room. The next morning we realized there was one of those sensor-activated room deodorizing spray machines mounted on the wall in the bathroom in front of the toilet. No... no, no, no, no.... people, listen: those things are fine for truck stop bathrooms, not small hotel spaces. I’m not particularly sensitive to perfume, but that stuff was much too strong and completely unnecessary. Also, at reception, the woman who checked us in seemed obsessed about making sure we knew about the 10PM “curfew” and the code to get in. Suggestion: make a little handout in different languages explaining the policy and procedure.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easy walking distance to town centre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything and everywere
9.3 Excellent
Pros: garden
Cons: a bit chaotic at breakfast time
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely pool. Nice staff. Basic room but clean.
Cons: Nothing to comment on

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything's was top
Cons: I don't no
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rooms/dining room/garden /views/staff. Beautiful suroyndings/tranquil.
Cons: Would have liked proper shower in bathroom.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and view
Cons: Overwhelmed staff during a busy weekend
7.0 Good
Pros: Good value for 4 with a large seperate room for our kids, the space around the house was nice for the kids to run and play after a day in the car. Breakfast was interesting (traditional sweet cheese and home made apple-compote as a start) and plentiful. Vezelay is quite near as well as the Morvan nature parc so location is good. I chose the hotel to have a car parc and that worked well since the hotel has its own large parking.
Cons: The place has suffered the toll of years. Its style is what one once though was luxury, but looks crummy today. The garden is in disrepair, although it could be made to look great. The tone of management was a bit brisk and made you feel you better not try something wrong. The bath is not practical, you can't take showers since it's open and has a huge plant at the back.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very quick check-in and check-out process. The place looks exactly as in the pictures and the sceenery is ideal for a weekend surrounded by nature. Plus the facilities are super clean. If you are around the area I totally recommend it.
Cons: Communication through telephone was a little bit difficult though but we managed to understand each other.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, excellent on site restaurant, made room for our motorcycles in the garage, the house dog
Cons: Rooms in the main building a little basic but perfect for 3 travelling motorcycle riders
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful and room was very clean. The hotel certainly offered good value. We only stayed one night as we were just passing through.
Cons: The breakfast was a bit pricey 10 euros for what you get but otherwise the hotel was great value. The shower was a bit awkward in the twin room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cosy restaurant with good food. Air conditioning system worked very well which was a relief during the heat wave. Easy parking.
Cons: The shower and bathroom had a slight smell.
7.5 Good
Pros: Handy location. Nice terrace. Lovely staff and good restaurant.
Cons: The showers are a little strange in design - tends to flood the bathroom.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We didn't have the breakfast but the evening meal was very good and the restaurant was very popular. I would recommend booking when you arrive or going in early. The historic part of Avallon is very attractive and within easy walking distance. There is on site parking which is very useful. Our room was large and overlooked the garden but see comment below.
Cons: Our room overlooked the garden but was very close to the kitchen and there was a noisy cooling unit that ran all night and didn't help either of us get to sleep. Select a room away from the kitchen would be my advice.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Real classy
Cons: Owner was not really friendly to her staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and fresh room, with a small balcony. Good air conditioning. Small hotel, and the restaurant was just below our room. But no noice from there, really quiet and safe neighborhood. Nice, friendly atmosphere. Helpful staff. Good location, free parking on the street or parking space. Avallon services, grocery stores, restaurants and city centre on a walking distance. Our dog was welcome, no problem with that! Good restaurant in the garden.
Cons: Staff members' English skills could have been better, but everyone was helpful and I did learn some French :) The room didn't have a fridge, that would have been really useful for a longer stay such as ours.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Modern spacious room with lots of accessible sockets. Superb bathroom. Plenty of secure parking. Attractive dining room and best steak ever! The owner was very friendly, helpful and approachable.
Cons: Blue light on the TV lit up the room at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They let me park my motorcycle in the garage. The evening meal was delicious and the continental breakfast was ample. Friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was brilliant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food and wine in the restaurant was exceptional and very good value. We have stayed at this hotel on two previous occasions and the the experiences 100%.
Cons: We would have preferred a garden room rather than the house room on second floor which was not conducive to 70 year olds - due to narrow ad steep stairs.
