Grandparents were originally from this village and owned the original hotel that burned many years ago. It was wonderful to come visit and stay in such lovely accomodations.
Exceptional value and quality
Nice location and people. Would stay again.
the service and the people the fact that we arrived there during a bit of renovation
Staff were extremely helpful
Set in the heart of a local village, the hotel was surrounded by beautiful countryside. The food was very good and the hotel very comfortable. Although, I don't expect the staff to speak English in a German hotel, and I always try and speak the language where possible, just one translated menu would have been useful.
Everything really, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast buffet was very varied and top quality, wellness center was beautiful and the location of the hotel very pleasant and quiet nothing to complain about :)
A comfortable hotel with charming staff who went out of their way to be helpful. Spotlessly clean, unobtrusive service, discrete. Phenomenally good food especially in the a la carte restaurant. Very pretty location in a small, hilltop village. We shall be very happy to return.
The decor was ritzy looking, very clean and well furnished. The staff was very courteous and very responsive to our needs. In our case the gentleman that was on the desk spoke very good English which was very convenient in our case.
Room was larger than average No staff were working nor available at night. Dangerous exposed electrical wireing in room. Restaurant and bar closed on a Friday night, nearest restaurant 8kms away. Would avoid this hotel, there are plenty more in the Black Forest.
The friendly atmosphere and good organisation N/A
Great location. Wonderful breakfast.
Everything - the English speaking staff (mainly front desk staff) were very friendly and helpful. The food was great. Excellent value for money. We asked for a smoking room and although the hotel is non- smoking, we were provided with a room with a balcony which had an ashtray to cater for our smoking request. Free internet. Would love to return to this hotel again. We have absolutely no complaints
Fantastic staff, beautiful location, great restaurant on site Bed quite small, quite noisy when church bells start ringing
The hotel had a "tired" feel about it. The restaurant however had been refurbished but was expensive and service slow. The rooms were basic and adequate for a short stay. For a longer stay a comfortable chair would have been nice. The pool was cold!
The setting was tranquil & beautiful. I needed a quiet weekend away & the hotel was perfect for me. A cozy, unassuming place with terrific amenities (pool, sauna, massage & spa services) and a great breakfast buffet. The staff was wonderful & accommodating. I will definitely stay here again! Would be nice if wireless access was available in all the rooms. Parking was a little difficult.
Hotel is far from Motorway, its not good for overnight stopover. There were coucrouches in the room, Very nice vilage.
Well situated, easy to find, excellent breakfast, secure parking, pleasant town, quick access by own transport, bus or train to surrounding sights.
The room was immaculate and cozy at the same time; gourmet breakfast was the best of our 10 day stay in Germany; host and hostess extremely helpful and kind No, we would recommend it to anyone!
Easy to find and possibility to park in front of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the Koch family is very nice Breakfast should probably start a bit early, sometimes 8 might be late. No elevator.
We were given a very warm welcome here. The accommodation had been thoughtfully refurbished very recently and was immaculate, with attractive, modern and well thought out design. Generous and adaptable lighting and plenty of power points. Bathroom equally well appointed. Altogether a most comfortable stay - and a delicious breakfast, too. No.
Warm, comfortable, spacious room with balcony (we booked a comfort room), friendly staff, nice atmosphere and a very royal breakfast. Excellent value for the money we paid. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.
cleanliness of the rooms and bath.
Use of the garage to park my motorcycle overnight at extra cost. None
great value for money Not something specific
The service was excellent. Our room was spotless, and very comfortable. Very classy. The breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Cozy. Loved it.
We loved the view from the balcony and also the proximity to the thermal bad which we enjoyed. We also loved walking in the forest.
Burg, town park, and view of clouds drifting along the valley amidst the trees were lovely. There is a pleasant footpath with a steady gradient which starts nearby if you don't want to travel any further looking for a waterfall. Hotel staff were charming, very helpful and made you feel at home.
very friendly staff, clean rooms and bathrooms, lovely view from the balconey, enjoyed breakfast (good food, awesome view from the window) relatively minor comments: no mobile phone reception (seems to be a problem of the whole area), bed didn't have a little table next to it (not having them is surprisingly annoying)
A family hotel with a lovely view of the valley, sit on the balcony and watch the sun set.
Free swimming pool and a whirlpool bath was perfect relax after a business. I didn´t try sauna but I expect to be very good as well. Thanks for your hospitality.
Good location. Lots of restaurants in the nabourhood
We were delighted to meet 3 generations of the Eppel family who own this lovely hotel and who were all friendly, courteous and welcoming. A "Wellness" (medical and relaxation) facility on site is staffed by qualified Physiotherapists. Difficult to describe the view from our balcony; it is so breathtaking that it has to be seen to be believed. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill overlooking the town but the hotel provides you with a "Konus" card which allows free bus journeys (to the door of the hotel) for the duration of your stay (and also free local train services). Brush up on your German - you'll need 'survival level' for the town! Various members of the Eppel family do have good English skills.
