the quality of the hotel and the room was very good, and the staff where extremly nice and helpful. .the only negative aspect of it that the room was very hot and sticky.if i thad air con it would have made a hug difference.
The staff were good at their job , rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable Breakfast was expensive, corridors could do with a face lift , under staffed on bar /reception
nothing You have probably heard the expression "Not enough room to swing a cat". In the Ibis Hotel room I hardly had enough room to move my computer mouse! I have stayed in many hotels across Germany. I would never stay in an Ibis Hotel again because the rooms are far too small, and they cost far too much.
One counter manager was particularly friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent. There was a leak in the bathroom (under the sink).
very friendly helpfull staff. place very clen no
close to the city centre noise levels from traffic
It is a clean pleasant hotel on the skirt of the city centre and within easy walking distance of local amenities, bus station and railway station. The staff are very welcoming and happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible. No tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
I found the hotel to be comfortable in a good position and staff were always friendly, helpful and available. I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
The staff were excellent and nothing was too much. Breakfast was expensive compared to what was available locally.beds hard
I thought the staff were exceptional, the room was very clean and the food was good.
cleanliness / choice of food at breakfast
Very good value for money
Cleanliness, proximity to Paderborn's city centre
the hotel was very clean and the breakfast was lovely. the location was perfect.
centre of town did not speak english
the quiet rooms, the honesty fridge
We attended the British Fest ,and went down memory lane by meeting with ex Army pals from the 1980s We went for Breakfast on the Sunday , The Standard of the food for the money spent was poor the scrambled eggs were cold and the bacon was very greasy .
Reception was only open until 14.30 on Sunday
very clean and tidy room
I liked pretty much everything about your hotel really. Well, the minor inconvenience there was the entrance renovation work in progress but I was informed about it in advance, thanks to the hotel administration. Thus there were no unplesant surprises at all.
We were out most of the day at a heavy metal festival so only really slept at the hotel. However beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. Could have done with tea making facilities, though. Hail to Manowar !! Breakfast seemed quite expensive at 8 euros each, but there were alternatives nearby. However not having seen the breakfast I can't really class this as a negative point. Once again....Hail to Manowar !!
The reveptionist / manager was very helpful with advice on journey planning to avoid roadworks Our only complaint is that YOU did not pass on to the hotel our note that we did not expect to arive until after 2300.
Even though my German is not good they were extreamly helpful and patient. Room very comfortable. Yes there is a road near by but there was no noise. Breakfast in morning was great. Usual fresh rolls, Meats, cheese and yogurts. Coffee machine for what ever you want. Used hotel as a night stopover. Just a helpful hint give them a call in advance to let them know what time you'll arrive or at least learn how to say in German "I am here now" :-) Arrived 4pm Saturday, found doors locked. Due to my lack of German found the telephone number on the booking.com paper work so made a phone call and after a little talking they arrived in 10mins. Great. Relised this was exactly what was on a note in the entrance. Booking.com said it was 24hr but the 24hr nigh porter was out of order. However having never traveled on a Saturday before did not give it a thought of reception open times.
The fact that I could arrive after midnight. Ice cold room when arriving at 1 o'clock in the night. Not so nice, especially when I had pre-booked the room. Breakfast was terrible - one week old apples, no fresh yoghurt or milk, very little choices.
Staff were very friendly and kind It was very hot and there was no air conditioning.
Nice, clean room, also very quiet surroundings. Recommend coming by car though.
Convenient on-site restaurant. Good breakfast. Town centre walkable, also on regular bus route. Airport taxi service. No tea/coffee facilities in room.
Rooms were very clean
Polite,helpful,english-speaking staff.good pizzeria restaurant. No lounge or bar.NO Coffee making facilities in room.Too many flies in restaurant and on buffet food.NOISY Road position if have to open windows(no aircon).Beware group bookings on saturday night- v noisy party meant we had to move rooms at 4am.
Easy access to Autoban
Frendly staff, good service. Good breacfast Wery hot in the room during the night.
It was basic but comfortable. Unfortunately it was further out of town than I expected.
Nothing special. It has no special interest. It is just a place to sleep
Very quiet. Nice mixture of old and new. None
The accomodation wing has only recently been opened and the room was beautifully appointed. The restaurant was excellent and there was a first rate sauna as well. Convenient for Paderborn and the army camp at Sennelager Nothing
The staff is plesant and efficient. They apologised that there was no menu in english and quickly located someone in the staff to sit with me and translate what was in the menu. This is *Service*. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel advertise free WLAN, but it requires them to generate a voucher to log in to the system and this is not done unless you ask. The WLAN then blocks outgoing VPN connections which was somewhat irritating. I can work around it easily enough, but I did not expect to have to do that.
Nice room and building. We arrived just a few minutes before the latest check in time (due to roadwork on Autobahn) and when we two times, 1 hour before and 30 minutes before, try to call them, they neglected to answer the phone (which was apologized later). That caused us more stress than we wanted, since we had to drive faster to get there in time.
The staff could not be more friendly or helpful. I shall certainly return.
Sincerest thanks to the lovely englishman who stayed up late at reception to welcome us into the hotel. No criticisms really - freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast would have been nice and also a non slip floor in the shower tray!
We arrived very late & left early - simply a place for us to sleep when the drive home was too far. However, we are regular travelers and know good quality for the money. We had two nice rooms for a very reasonable fee: a single room on the front side facing the parking lot for 80 euros & a double room on the back of the hotel facing the golf course for 100 euros - obviously ask for the backside if you are staying any length of time. It does have a large function room and, if you are a light sleeper, you may want to ask if there is a party scheduled before making your reservation or make sure your room is far from the action. The breakfast buffet is very nice - smoked salmon, prosecco, good scrambled eggs, etc.
Very quiet at the time of our stay, which was a bonus! Very wide choice for breakfast despite the apparent small numbersof guests. Staff very friendly & helpful. Nicely maintained grounds. No tea making facility in bedroom. Spa treatments very expensive.
Dispite the very few guests (sunday), all facilities were available, and all personel were helpful and kind. Even the breakfast buffet was fully available for one or two guests..
The staff was very prompt and helpful Concept of double bed -two single beds joined together with single matresses,Need to have tea/coffee making facilities.
Great place, nice people, very nice design.
OK hotel in any way. But we did not know it was out of town Paderborn. Good breakfast, served by a smiling woman, but the restaurant was closed an we were on the country side almost.
Visit to family Bar closed on saturday
Helpful staff in a quiet hotel on outskirts of Paderborn. Very handy for public transport, local bus every 20 minutes to Paderborn.
cleanliness, buffet breakfast was good although one morning no boiled eggs and sparse bacon. no lift, we are both 65 and two flights of stairs was a struggle, also would prefer a double bed not 2 singles pushed together
nothing stale smokey smell all through the hotel, 1960's decor could do with being up dated
close to McDonald's and full service gas station with restaurant close to road noise, no vending machines
24h check-in The thermal insulation of the room was not very good, so the temperature during the night was quite low, even with the heater at full capacity.
rezervation for 2 rooms. In the rooms is not heat. The heating it's don't work.In rooms is about 5-6 degrade.I't very could.
Manager of the hotel went out of his way for us - even let me do laundry in his personal machine. Hot water system was excellent. Would definately stay there again
It is a one -man operation, with some help sometimes. It probably is a safe place , but you cannot help but wonder if sooner or later someone will just walk in unobserved, ... and then what. .
Not too far away from skiing in Sauerland it's a hotel mainly visited by older people and not yet tuned to the desirings of younger people
The staff in the bar where I took a meal in the evenings could not have been more helpful and spoke good english as did the desk staff. I was there for 8 days after extending my stay and my bedding was not changed once. Also you have to tell them if you are not taking breakfast as you get charged. I was also charged for parking but they did take it off when I explained that I did not even have a car. It is a bit of a walk into the centre.
Would like coffee/tea making facilities in the room
Hotel was modern and clean. Beds require 2 pillows per adult which is expected by UK customers. Lack of Tea/Coffee making kit was not good.
great breakfast Extremely small room. Overpriced for the facilities available.
It is a good business hotel For the second time staying here they tried to charge me more than i had agreed on booking.com. They did change it when I got my e mail to show them. Luckily I knew what I'd agreed to pay.
Good location, good size room, everything working, good breakfast
fresh atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, breakfast excellent standard of evening meal not great
Quite nice hotel as four stars. Room is clean and big. No wireless internet in the room. I live in two nights, but the second day, I find out the towel and tissue box are not changed in the bathroom. Drink and snack in the room need to be charged.
i was staying there to see a friend, so was ideal as easy walking distance into town
The friendly staff.
This hotel is highly recommended. In the countryside so if you want to eat at an alternative restaurant you would need a car/taxi but would recommend that you use the restaurant which is excellent. Excellent menu - flamecake highly recommended. Breakfast also superb - such a choice. The owners and staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
Good food reasoably priced Friendly staff who provided good service
The restaurant was very good and the staff were very friendly. Ideally situated for us, but might not be suitable for everyone. Transport preferable. No family rooms so we had to book two doubles.
OK but a little too crowded with the locals
The owners are lovely caring people and this is apparent in all the staff. The hotel is excellent in all aspects. We strongly reccommend you stay and experience Alt Enginger Muhle.
Very pleasant staff. Excellent menu.
Very nice surroundings. It's a converted Farm House The Breakfast wasn't all that
Friendly hotel staff made us feel at home. The main receptionist spoke excellent English and really handled everything brilliantly. Although it is a common practice in small Hotels to have no member of staff available in the early hours of the morning, we were not made aware that this was the case at this hotel. This meant that when on of our group needed to checkout at around 4am one morning there was no staff member available to open the hotel-safe where he was having his passport kept. It then required a call to German directory inquiries (which does not provide an English service until 7am) in order to try to obtain to obtain the phone number of the Hotel owner. To the hotels credit, the receptionist came straight over and 20mins later my friend had his passport.
It was a nice place to stay, we liked the building and we had a comfortable room, the hotel staff and owner were very friendly and we were well looked after. We would definitely go back and stay in the hotel again despite that we did not find Paderborn that interesting.
Good quiet location in the centre of Olsburg. Excellent facilities and food. Lovely gardens. Parking could have been a little nearer but not really a problem.
thye location is in the centre of town and excellent quality of hotel
Great room Broken down sauna
I liked the place where it is situated, breakfast was very good
the room, breakfast,
The only downside to the hotel was the pillows in the bedrooms, they were awful, the most uncomfy ones I have ever come across
The room was spacious with the usual amenities, buffet breakfast was filling and fresh. Staff member at checkout was very courteous and friendly. The staff member at check-in did not have the most inviting personality I have ever experienced. The dining room was booked for an event and there would only be one table available in a tight corner if we wanted to have dinner in the hotel; we decided to eat elsewhere. The people at the event in the dining room were very loud when they left at around two in the morning, had to get up and close the windows.
Good hotel and fklexible staff memebers willing to assist you
Personal approach fromthe staff
Very nice and helpful stuff. Perfect breakfast. Clean and comfortable room. Free parking.
The email link was essential for us to continue our business. Helpful and friendly staff.
Staff and owner very helpful and friendly. My wife requested soya milk and gluten free bread when making the booking. This was provided promptly every morning at breakfast. Offered good information on places to visit during our stay.
Location, convenience, decor, welcoming and friendly staff Room (N0: 100) carpet smelled of "dog" and needed a good vaccuum as well as some air freshener (recommend Frebreeze). Otherwise all OK. Carpet comment needs passing on to Hotel to enable cleaning to be completed.
The staff were fiendly and the buffet breakfast (extra) was very good We booked this hotel as it had a bar but it was closed. It was too far from anything else. Also they had allocated a disabled guest a top floor room (although they did rectify this)
The Hotel is in a good location for Paderborn city centre, an easy walk to loads of restaurants and shopping. A large parking area is also nearby at a cost of 2.5 euros for a day ticket. The internet was very intermitent and did not work at all in the evenings, this was a dissapointment
I had stayed in Stadthus on a short business/holiday trip with my husband in Sept 09. We liked it so much that when I needed to do a short solo business trip there was no question of going anywhere else. Overall I consider it excellent. I like the hotel very much but as a solo occupying a double room it is a little bit expensive.
The hotel was located centrally for the city and the staff were excellent and could speak good english
Staff were absolutely brilliant and the hotel was spotlessly clean No tea or coffee facilities in the bedrooms
The staff was extremely helpful, courteous, efficient and friendly.
This hotel was an excellent find. It is at a central old town but quiet position, had a night porter on duty to let us in at midnight, a beautiful large bedroom, excellent breakfast, very helpful staff and stored our case for us on day of departure. The room we were allocated does not have lift access - a difficulty for my husband who has mobility problems. There are other rooms which have lift access. I had not asked in advance and staff were willing to move us but we did not want to give up our lovely room!
Great location, quiet position, large room and spacious bathroom. the breakfast was execellent. very heppful staff. -
A family run traditional type of accommodation with character and charm. The staff were very helpful and friendly
Nice family-style hotel. Friendly staff, they gave me a call to ask when I am planning to arrive. 20 minutes drive from skiing slopes in Winterberg.
Good price for the room itself. Notice that the breakfast price might not be included in the price you get from this site, so it wasn't for me and I discovered it first while checking out.
extremely nice staff, great value for money
The stay was pleasant.
Clean room every day, nice shower, very nice sauna the shower is very very small, the towels very hard, the pooltable died some years ago but is still there and not so much space to play pool or darts.
Very very nice people - great view from the balkony NO - The Hotel is perfect
Located in realy quite area. Staff is friendly, some facilities like spa and welness are available. Meals good, situated not far from towns and shops No Wireless internet in rooms, except very expensive and not very reliable offer from T-Mobile. Prices for welness are not consistent with those on hotel website or in brochure. Road and bridge are under constraction, means you need to take alternative road (15 km more)and route is not well presented.
big family room with seperate room for two children with nice view on the lake very small bathroom, heating of the room misplaced, constructions going ahead, price on the invoice was not the same as the rate from booking.com, after complaining this was adjusted but still not the same
Courteous staff, very good food with wide menu choice, very good location, room spacious and well equipped No complaints, all very good / excellent
Nice hotel at Diemelsee, nice sauna and spa facilities. Good breakfast. Perfect to relax and to enjoy nature. Not all the spa facilities mentioned on the promotional paper are available. There are no "erlebnis douche" only normal showers and there is no outside pool. But the location is really nice, unfortunately there is nothing special to do in the neighbourhood, there is no butcher, backery or a supermarket (Adorf 5km). For all this, you are better off in Willingen.
