It was right across the street from a metro/subway station and not too far from the beach. The noisiness of the people at night. People seemed to stay up all night. It was like living in a college dorm with activity at all hours. We had people who were staying at the hostel sitting on the sidewalk in front of the hotel playing music and talking until 4am. We had to leave at 6am the next morning so we did not get any sleep that night.
Remember this is a hostel not a 5* hotel. Basic facilities but convenient for the town centre via the excellent transport system. Friendly people but they left you alone if you wanted privacy. Most important - receptionists are on the wavelength of the traveller. Unusual to have breakfast without plates so you had to eat rolls off a napkin. That's only minor.
There was a lot to like about the Hostel. The fact it was almost directly opposite a tube-station on a line which also goes to the centre made it the perfect compromise between quiet surroundings and accessibility to the city. The staff welcomed us when I arrived and gave us the full lowdown on surrounding businesses if we did not want to venture into the city at any one time. Going to the beach there was utterly brilliant, it was little used but had a life-guard right there, and the sea was beautilful. The twin-room was basically furnished but it had ample storage, the bed was really comfy and the air conditioning worked well which was a relief. The en-suite was also good. A very minor point but the shower seemed to work on a timed-basis, which was a little inconvenient, but I can see how it suit the dormed rooms, if not the two-person ones!
i thought it was okey, good price with a smal breakfast in the price, near to the beach and metro station, far to the bathroom,
Friendly staff, good location, value for money. Functional distance from room to bathroom and toilet
Staff speaks English fluently and are very helpful. We were also provided with a very helpful map with key attractions and more. Our room was small but comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. The restaurant in Casa Gracia is very good, but the cocktail bar in the bottom floor is overpriced and our drinks weren't good. The neighborhood is fantastic, with plenty of places to eat and drink in any direction. Nearby Placa del Sol is a great spot for soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying delicious and cheap drinks and food. Opening the window to our room let in a foul smell.
Thanks alot guys!!!! really helped me with activities and things to see in Barcelona. Very friendly staff who took care of us. Great location!! Fantastic atmosphere! I will come back!!!I Thanks!!
great place!!feel like you can stay forever:)..the staff were amazing, they know all about barcelona, where to eat,or going out,art..certainly a value hostel@@@thanx
stylish decoration!i loved the terrace in the mornings it was full of sun, staff was recommanding cool cultural things to do,live music, modern museoms.all and all wonderful experience in barcelona. nothing
convenient location with easy access to metro n bus no computer/internet stations. Lockers in dorms did not come with lock. No individual light for each bunk bed.
The receptionists were so nice and they let us keep our luggage there before checking in and after checking out. They have the best maps of the city and were very helpful pointing out attractions and how to get places. Everything was very clean and they had free laptops for us to use the internet. Amazing location, right on Passeig de Gracia, 5 minute walk to Placa Catalunya
The staff speaks english and is very helphul The rooms are very very small 2,5x3,0 M. it's mainly student's appartments rather than hotel. Very expensive for this kind of room
It was quiet, central, tidy and modern. Good service - well organised. Safe and had a good lift and an excellent view platform at the top. We missed some kitchen tools e.g. an electric kettle. They had forgotten the cleaning at the top of the closset. The shower curtain need an exchange (moulded).

The staff were extremely helpful with our questions regarding the city, and had maps and othr materials prepared. The location ws close to the train station. The breakfast was also good for the price. There was no wifi available at the rooms, and residents had to go down to the lobby to access the signal.
Good value for the price. Located near a metro station that takes you direct into town. Internet free available per cable (no wireless). The rooms are very small but it's ok for a short stay or for students. Heating didn't work and there was moisture on the roof of the bathroom.
the posistion, located near bus staion, realtively close to beach, centre and main tourist sites
Very unfortunate location of the hotel. Located in an industrial zone - away from the metro and in general of transport. Especially fun - that I was required to take a separate room in the statement of faith, which was 1 year. I booked a double, but was willing to pay and triple. Me and my wife was prescribed in one room, but separately! the child demanded to pay for another room. Everything is on magnetic cards, which are constantly not working.
I stayed at this hotel for going to the music concert at the Sala Razzmatazz. The venue was very close. It was very convenient. Also facilities of hotel were very nice such as a kitchen every floor. I can cook breakfast using food from supermarket and local marcket. It's fun of traveling. Inside of the freezer in the kitchen was mess. In the refrigerator, it's better if there is each key. And it's better if there are cling film and tin foil in the kitchen.
the location, security and friendliness / helpfulness of the staff the bed wasn't very comfortable and the utencils in the kitchen were very poor.
The studio appartment was small and kind.Everything worked on good, and easy. It was near the citycenter and the metro station was only 5 minutes far. The airconditioner was a little loud.
When we arrived at Centre Esplai Albergue's reception, they reserved 2 rooms with 4 bunk beds on each one instead of 2 rooms with 1 double bed on each ones. Rooms were very dirty and beds were with mustiness! Images on website aren't really. Nightly staff was nice and friendy, while in the morning other staff was very rude.
I liked the fact of only staying a few hours due to a flight connection Dirty, old, rooms are embarrassing
The architecure of the place, that they have a libery and a room for children to play We wanted to check in with a child at 13.20h. The child wanted to go to the toilet. In the internet it said that check-in before 14 o`clock can be possible. The woman behind the recption desk did nothing to let the child go to the toilet. Than at 14.20 there were 2 new receptionist telling me I need a print out from the booking. But they cannot print out in the hotel. And the complete town doesn`t have a internet cafe with a printer. To show them my booking was not enough. To tell them the booking number was not enough. The child already had a wet pant. Than at 15 o`clock they finally gave me a key for a really grey and ugly room with 6 beds inside instead of 2, instead of the one with the nice picture from the booking plattform. The shower interiour broken, the curtains half existing, not washed. The breakfast toast and ham. I am a vegetarian. After asking both people behind the rection how to get to the aiport with the bus or metro. No answer. Besides, "take a taxi", somewhere is a bus. Somewhere in the hotel a small plan. No service thoughts. Did not even stand up to check why the 4 computer in the libery did not work. He only repeated. Put the password in the window of the computer... The password was not the problem. If he would have came behind the desk and checked, he would have known. I lost one day, the lazyness with which they worked was teriffic and the stay was a true horror. Not recommanded for families!!
Clean, big rooms, price. The location.
price very good braekfast poor, but for the price....cofee good!
the room is so narrow..
The breakfast is great. And the internet is free.
It was a haven of peace in a very busy city as if the village of Portmeirion in Wales had been transplanted to Barcelona.
hotel staff were very kind and helpful. If you are not looking for something luxury this accomodation is good with private bathroom and breakfast included. 10 minute walk to get the metro and then about 10 minutes from the center
