Pros: Quiet, clean and homely.
Pros: PROVIDE FOOD FACILITIES FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS RATHER THAN GOING OUTSIDE THE HOTEL
Pros: It was the ideal place to start our Tanzanian trip. Joseph was waiting for us at the airport and drove us in comfort to IDC.All the staff ere friendly and helpful, the guesthouse is only a couple of minutes from the beach and a short walk from the town. Bagamoyo is an interesting place and Joseph will drive you to the end of town so you can wander back at your leisure and spend some time relaxing around the swimming pool, which like everything else is spotlessly clean. This is such a lovely relaxing place ,we would return any time !
Pros: Peaceful, quiet place just what we were looking for.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
Pros: Really good value for money. Family room perfect. Nice swimming pool. They also help us to organize a very nice trip in Saadani National park ( very nice park and perfect organisation, thanks M. Allen !) . Good place to visit Bagamoyo. We recommend it.
Pros: Service was excellent. Really enjoyed and will definitely recommend IDC to friends
Pros: The compound looked quite new and neat...
Cons: We had spontaneously booked for a budget double room with bathroom but when we arrived (we were the only guests at that day) they put us in a room with a very small bed and we had to use the toilet and shower at the pool. That was very bad to reach at night and the bed was way too small for 2 adults. Also the breakfast was kind of a joke. We got one banana, bread and coffee. Eggs or anything like that would be to pay extra... We didn't understand this. The price was way too high for what we got there. I really can't recommend the guesthouse!
Pros: Friendly staff and helpful
Cons: Were told swimming pool will be available for usage, but was under maintenance . Even breakfast not to standard, needs improvement
Pros: The pool and lounge area is like an oasis! I love that the place is informal and has accommodations from private rooms to dorms to tents with full baths to space for campers and backpackers to pitch their own tents. It also has a recycling center and a garden full of basil plants! The staff are very accommodating. They put a mattress in he floor of a tent so we could have 3 in our room instead of having to be in a dorm. The location is a walk from the beach and fish market.
Cons: With all the fresh basil in their garden it would have been nice to have something on their menu with basil or pesto. Although friends said the food was very nice we found the menu to be limited but very nice if you are vegetarian and the breakfast was nothing special but adequate if you had the eggs. If you ordered the granola it seemed like the kinds you can get in the store.
Pros: Everyone was really nice. Really appreciated the spraying for mosquitoes. It’s a relaxing common area with a pool. I had to cut my days short there but wish I had spent more time.
Cons: Credit card machine was not working when I went to pay. Price they wanted me to pay was different than what booking.com said. When I brought it to their attention they told me to call booking?! Fortunately they worked it out and I paid the amount quoted. Messaged the hostel regarding transport to the hostel and was told to take Uber. Uber will not go all the way to Bagamoyo so it took much longer to find someone to drive me. A lady did apologize for this and said she would update the staff.
Pros: The ambience and decor at Firefly is really lovely. It's a very relaxing and comfortable place to stay. Has the best coffee in Bagamoyo and plenty of breakfast options. There are a variety of different seating areas around the beautiful pool and bar area and you can always find a nice spot to chill out. Either relaxing in a hammock or lounging on one of the many colourful cushions. Staff are always friendly and polite and extremely helpful.
Cons: The rooms are sometimes a bit noisy at night as they are close to the road. The menu is slightly limited for vegetarian dinner options.
Pros: The place is like a cool hideaway. Lots of plants and it kind of gives you the feeling of being in the middle of the rain forest. Seems to be very environmental friendly. It's located in some old Arab ruins. Nice and clean swimming pool.
Cons: The rooms had very low standards. Painting was falling of the walls, no door to the bathroom. Very simple breakfast. A little to expensive for this standard. No sunbeds with the pool.
Pros: Lovely hostel. Outdoor space is really nice with loads of comfortable places to lounge. The same on the inside and the decor is really cool. We stayed in a four bed dorm and it was comfortable with good mosquito nets. Windows were quite thin and lots of motorbikes going by in the night. Windows also didn't fully close. The food was nice and the pool was lovely. Showers and toilets were very far away from our room so going in the night wasn't really an option. Overall, really enjoyed our stay.
Pros: Food is very good and cheap! Staff very friendly. The place is very picturesque. It has a nice pool and open area set up.
Pros: Perfect place to relax between the swimming pool, chill areas and plants.
Cons: The surroundings around the hostel, not so much to do.
Pros: Everything was super from the decor to the service to the vibe - really lovely place to relax and chill after 4 days of intense hiking ! The chilling area by the pool is really the centerpiece of an overall amazing lodge.
Pros: Fela Kuti Music was the Biggest Like For ME!!
Cons: The Shower heads, wish they were a little bigger.
Pros: - outdoor area - hostel's design - pets (cats and a dog)
Cons: - no hot water in our double room (we used common facilities where water was warmish in the morning and evening) - small breakfast (including only the first cup of tea/coffee for free...) and in general expensive food

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Absence of AC is really big trouble
Pros: location, guest rooms, in particular bath rooms, taste of dinner items.
Cons: moscitos in the guest room ( the rooms are not sealing off .. ! Main entry door eg ) and the open air restaurant at night. No moscito repellent available. I experienced at least 15 bites. No WIFI, neither in the room nor in the public area. No AC in the guest room. Very limited food offer, in particular with breakfast. If such small hotel works a la carte I would inform the guests before by sending them choices to fill out, e.g.
Pros: The location was great, by the ocean, 0,5h walk to Bagamoyo on the beach. The bungalow was spacious, clean and cozy with large patio and view to ocean and Bagamoyo. However, some trees should be cut to make the view more open. Pool is good and water in the ocean great in the afternoon. Breakfast was good, dinner was ok, but could easily been better too. There is a nice place with good food, Funky Squid on the beach half way to Bagamoyo.
Cons: There was only one key - it is possible to lock yourself out and leave the key in! Luckily it didn't happen, but cleaning was not possible if we forgot to leave key in reception. Beach could be cleaner and I propose hotel employees to collect empty plastic bottles at least front of hotel area, when it seemed that there was not too much to do in the hotel on day time. We knew that there is no wi-fi, so it was not a problem, but could be a good idea to have internet connection in the lobby area and so enable card payments as well.
Pros: CLEAN, GREAT STAFF, EXCELLENT FOOD, WONDERFUL LOCATION AND ROOMS ARE BIG AND AIRY.
Cons: AIR CONDITIONING IS DEFINITELY REQUIRED. PLEASE ARRANGE FOR MILK SACHETS WITH THE TEA IN THE ROOM. PLACE GREEN TEA BAGS AS WELL. HAND TOWELS ARE REQUIRED. PARKING SPACE NEEDS TO BE INCREASED.
Pros: Great location, nice relaxed vibe
Cons: Hot! No A/C was a bit of a challenge but we managed with fans
Pros: A very nice place indeed for people who like comfort
Cons: The mattresses are not comfy my wife and I experienced some back pain
Pros: Perfect location and view, friendly staff, clean property
Cons: Out of swimming no have any activity to do at hotel, too much mosquitos, bed was terrible, no access for internet
Cons: No Internet for the whole 3 days I was there.
Pros: The view in our room was really nice.
Cons: The room was dirty. The staff members were not very engaged and were quite slow. The price we paid for one night was USD 200 which is NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. The breakfast was really bad. A real shame.
