Located in the village of Misfat Al- Abriyeen in the state of Al-Hamra, Al Misfah Hospitality Inn is about 200 kilometers away from Muscat. Its a restored ancient house overlooking the green palm groves and situated at the top of the house the famous Rogan Castle built more than 1500 years ago. Al Mafraq Hospitality offers family, traditional, integrated, comfortable and secure accommodation for the most relaxing of times in a traditional atmosphere combined with hospitality, Omani coffee and traditional Omani meals. The reservation includes two dinners and breakfast. Some rooms have views of the mountain or garden. Rooms come with a shared bathroom fitted with a shower.
Pros: What an incredible hotel; the view, the room, the location, the food. The staff is so friendly, they even gave me a private tour through Misfah. This place is definilty a must stay, when you go to Misfah!
Pros: The staff were fantastic and very helpful and informative. The food was great. We enjoyed the tour very much!
Pros: Abdullah and his staff were very friendly and helpful. He showed us his grandfather house, which is a museum, and explained the life essentials of the local community. The place is amazing, the garden full of tropical fruit and date palms, the mountains, the old village, definitely a must if coming to Oman.
Pros: Traveled with my friend and we were immediately surprised about the place. The owner, mr Abdullah was very kind and he received us with his hospitality. He did a tour of the village and museum for us, which I found very interesting. We wanted to hike next day in Jebel Shams and he sat down with us and explained the route, and where to find the waterpool with waterfall, even draw us a map to make it easier. The room was very clean and original. AC was very good. The bathroom is shared, but I found very large and clean. We didn't have breakfast, but the dinner was very tasty.
Pros: Loved this hotel and the town! Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The morning walk around town was great, be sure to explore more trails on your own. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was fun to explore the town and stay in a traditional Omani house. Highly recommend, a visit to Al Misfah is a must in Oman!!
Pros: Great location and atmosphere. The rooms are simple, but provide you with everything you need for a short stay. Food was plentiful and tasty, so can't complain there. Very accommodating staff. The village tour was an excellent addition.
Cons: Shared bathrooms could be an issue for some people, but honestly, it did not prove to be a problem. Bring insect repellant for the evenings as mosquitos are around.
Pros: It was so relaxing- a beautiful way to escape the ‘everyday’. Wonderful atmosphere. Great traditional rooms and village. Lovely hosts- Abdulla and Ahmed were so welcoming. Great traditional food. We loved every meal! We stayed as a family of 4 (8 and 6 year old). Lots of lovely places to visit. We all loved learning about the history and the area. We will definitely visit again.
Cons: I loved everything about this stay!
Pros: Architecture... Roof terrace with great views... Hospitality of owner and staff. They are a wealth of local information. Abdulla also does tours of village and museum. Which gave great personal insight into misfat
Cons: Nothing. I loved everything... But bear in mind this is ssold as rustic / traditional accommodation... So it can't be compared to a modern hotel
Pros: We received a very nice welcome with coffee and dates. We appreciated very much the typical Omani food that was served for dinner and breakfast on the beautiful terraces. The old village is a pleasure to walk in. Do take the short (and free) tour around the old village with the owner, to learn more about the traditions and history of this charming village!
Bahla Jewel Hotel Apartments is located in Hayy Al-Sa'ad. The units provide views of the mountain and come with a seating area, a washing machine, a fully equipped kitchenette with an oven, and a private bathroom with free toiletries. There is also a microwave, bottled water, fridge and a kettle. The property has a entertainment centre. Guests can also relax in the shared lounge area. Nizwa is 40 km from the aparthotel.
Pros: Good location on the way from Jebel Shams/Al Hamra to Bahla. Friendly stuff!
Cons: No restaurant/breakfast and the Indian restaurant close to the hotel is not to recommend (very rude stuff who tried to cheat us - never had this in Oman!) Nothing in the kitchen - no pot, no pan but a very new and modern stove :-D!
Pros: Check-in: staff attended to us pleasantly Cleanliness of the hotel: excellent Cleanliness of the room: excellent Room facilities: excellent Customer service: excellent
Cons: Special mention to Charlie, the most friendly and accommodating staff.
Pros: Bahla Jewel Hotel Appartments provide superb value for money self catering accommodation. Fully equipped kitchen, living/dinning room, with Sat TV and Wifi router, and 2 separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (one of which had a washing machine) meant we could properly prepare for and recover from day trips into the Jebel Akhdar. Amazingly comfortable, clean and quiet and the staff could not have been more helpful. Free parking in front of the hotel, with a garage next door. A wonderfully situated, convenient and pleasant location to stay.
Pros: Spacious rooms and excellent wifi
Cons: Hot water in the bath - not running well
Pros: My family and I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay here. The apartment was clean and we were provided with all the amenities we needed including slippers. The staff even surprised us with a lovely fruit platter. Great property and value for money.
Pros: The accommodation is very spacious, but overlooks a very busy road. Make sure you ask for a room at the rear if noise is a problem. Practical location for Nizwa, Jebel Shams etc.
Cons: The irrational positions of light switches. There was insufficient cutlery in the kitchen. The immediate vicinity is unattractive and nearby restaurants uninspiring
Pros: Great location if you are headed to the mountains. The beds were pretty comfortable. Worth mentioning that although there was no restaurant the reception lady was helpful to give us some menus and made a call to one of them to deliver. This came in handy since we were already tired coming from Muscat.
Cons: If you are leaving early in the morning then its some hustle because the apartment has no restaurant meaning there is no breakfast. You have to take care of this by yourself. There are some restaurants close by though. Also, I booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 3 people however the utensils were fewer than the occupants. So we had to keep calling the reception to ask for more. Not a big deal though.
Pros: Very comfortable bedrooms, spacious living room. Very clean. Friendly staff
Cons: The A.C units in the bedrooms were quite noisy
Pros: Great comfortable place, brand new building
Pros: no breakfast! but supermarkets are around as well as gas station. Washing machine in the appartment! You can also cook but you need to bring your gears.
Cons: water supply is tight. Don't expect rushing showers. Not their fault though.

All rooms are fitted with tiled floors and have got large windows. Each room offers mattresses, blankets and pillows. The bathroom is fitted with a shower. Some rooms include a shared bathroom. Guided tours within the village and to surrounding areas can be arranged by Omani local guides. Hiking and horse riding are on site activities that are available upon request. Misfah Old House is about 220 km far from Muscat airport. It is about 40 km south west from Nizwa city. An airport shuttle is available upon request. Free public parking is possible at a location nearby.
Pros: All was perfect :))
Pros: Beautiful location Amazing buildings Great walka in the area
Pros: The location was excellent, nice place to go and chill out of city. the place is surrounded by trees and grass. The owner and the staff are excellent. The dinner and breakfast was amazing too.
Cons: As we travel during summer, it was a very hot to go around and see places. We had to wait till evening to go around.
Pros: The place, ambience and scenery
Cons: Hassle to reach with luggage and small kids
Pros: The location
Cons: Oman has a vibe... here I couldn't find it. Pricey for what you get. And pricey just because of the location
Pros: The house is in an amazing place, in the heart of the old misfah village. You are inside the palm trees and the gardens, and you will cross all the old village to get there. Service is amazing, even if very basic. Don't expect luxury accommodation here, the luxury is in the location and in the surrounding. Just remember to bring just what you need for the night. There is a 10 minutes walk to get to the house, with stairs and old stone streets.
Cons: There is really nothing wrong here...
Pros: Picture perfect location in authentic Omani village; request a guided tour with one of the locals, it made our trip. Good food, clean yet basic rooms
Pros: The location is nice. Quiet area with the sound of nature around you, and at the foot of a picturesque village. Breakfast was good, dinner was ok.
Cons: The rooms are very basic and the bathroom was smelly. The property is at the bottom of the village and in reality seems to be a redevelopment. Doesn't actually feel like a traditional Omani village house. Overall, too expensive for what you get. Although the staff are friendly, they are not Omani, which also detracts from the expected feeling.
Pros: Beautifully located! What a little gem! The rooms are simple but really nice!
With a stay at The View in Al Hamra, you'll be 5.5 mi (8.9 km) from Al Harma Watchtower and 8.3 mi (13.4 km) from Wadi Ghul Dam. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Overall I am happy with our stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Unique location, and especially I love the balcony. In the morning the valley covered with fog and it's really beautiful.
Cons: A couple of things could be better 1. We have a problem with the water heater, but they fix it immediately 2. The said they will give us a double bed, but what actually they provided is twin bed, they put it together. Which is not really comfortable.
Pros: the location of the hotel and the staff were very friendly. the rooms are really nice with great view (Premier rooms) they provided variety of food which was also tasty Highly recommend it for a quite gateway
Cons: Barely anything but the only comment will be is the AC in the room it was directly hitting the bed which wasn't convenient
Pros: The calmness and the whole place
Cons: The pool side services...no body is there to take orders or watch.
Pros: the arrangement of the rooms in levels
Cons: Dinner food & test to be improved
Pros: We liked the location and the facilities.
Cons: The food is limited in selection and quality.
Cons: There is no gym and no night activates at night after 8pm nothing is there
Pros: The view was amazing! The stuff in the reception was really polite and treated us nice!
Cons: 1. The room wasn't clean (the windows were very dirty, the floor also) and the towels had a smell. 2. The dinner buffet wasn't international as we were informed but it was Omani food. 3. People were allowed to swim in the pool with their clothes, so we didn't use the pool!
Pros: Nice view .. friendly staff.
Pros: Location, view, food, pool, bathroom. Perfect getaway to relax and enjoy.
Cons: The A/C unit is directly over the bed so it blows on you while sleeping and it was too hot to turn it on. That was very disturbing and the reason we didn’t sleep well.
Pros: Friendly staff, nice view, free upgrade for the room, assistance for luggeages! :) it was good stay!
Cons: They put 2 single beds together for a double bed.
Set in Al Ḩamrāʼ, 46 km from Nizwa, Dar Alhmara offers a bar and free WiFi. Some of the units feature a satellite flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, and a private bathroom with a bidet and a a hairdryer. At the aparthotel you will find a restaurant serving Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine. A terrace can be found at Dar Alhmara, along with a shared lounge.
Pros: The location for travel to Jebel Shams
Cons: The mis-representation of this accommodation on your site. The 4.2 rating above is hopefully out of 10! This wasn’t a ‘split-level’ apartment, as advertised, it was a 2 bedroom apartment with shared facilities!..meaning we shared with a couple we didn’t know. The kitchen had very limited equipment for self-catering..eg 3 plates, no knives or glasses. The bed was SO uncomfortable, with no bed linen provided, that we checked out after 1 nights stay! Not impressed!
Cons: very slow internet, we couldnot use it
Pros: very good breakfast
Pros: The apartment was plenty big enough and clean, with two bedrooms, one with 3 single beds and the other with a double bed. We were three staying, so my wife and I in one room and my brother in the other room. Both bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms
Cons: However after about an hour we had a knock at the door, the receptionist stated that the apartment was to be shared in that we would be in the 3 bed room and that other people would be using the double bedroom and that we would all share the lounge and kitchen!! The description of the apartment was a split level however it was a normal two bedroom apartment.
Pros: Location was good for our visit. There was plenty of room in the apartment, 2 bedrooms, flat screen TV, AC, fans and free WiFi
Cons: At check in we were told that we were sharing an apartment, sure enough on the hotel's paperwork it stated sharing, but at no time during the booking process or the confirmation email did it mention sharing an apartment. We would not have booked knowing it was a sharing apartment. Fortunately the Owner had a free apartment so an amicable solution was found and we did not end up sharing. However Booking.com should sort this issue out so both the Owner and guests are not put in this awkward situation again.
Pros: The owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful, and the overall value for money was excellent.
Pros: very clean appartement with big shared living room. good breakfast in nearby restaurant. good restaurants nearby.
Cons: the curtains are thin so we were awake very early in the morning. a bit noisy as the road is close.
Pros: Very good location for exploring the region. Nice and large appartment . Very clean.
Pros: good central location with great mountain views
Pros: Friendly staff, good breakfast nearby, parking, well located.
Cons: Nothing to tell...

Located in Bahla, Jibreen Hotel is a 5-minute drive from Jabrin Castle and 5 minutes from Bahla Souq. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Clean and spacious room. Excellent location for visiting Jabel Shams and forts at Bahla, Jibreen and Nizwa. Highly recommend this hotel apartment.
Cons: Unable to make coffee in room as no kettle. Breakfast was buffet and expensive.
Pros: - very big and clean room - huge bed - noise-proof windows - very good breakfast - good location near tourist places of interest - comfortable parking - towels included
Cons: - leaking shower
Pros: We stayed for for 2 nights in 2 different rooms which were both clean, equipped with a huge bed, and had windows. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good one time and they offer it from 6 am on which is good if you want to start your day early. 2 restaurants with good food across the street. Easy to find and parking available in front of the hotel.
Cons: The restaurant was not welcoming at night (no light). Breakfast was not that nice once during the week when we wanted to eat at 6 am (only fruit was an apple, croissant in plastic).
Pros: The front desk lady .. philipono national she was super nice . Hard working she was doing her best to make the hotel looks nice
Cons: We arrived 1130 pm . The room was to hot .. and the ac condition is bad ..it toke 4 hours to cool the room Poor breakfast . The tv is not working . Little bit dusty Strange smell in the front desk No coffee no water in the room Overall cleanance of the facility was poor The facility need to be renivated I would prefer to rent in nizwa much better
Cons: Aircon kept turning itself off. No hot water until I found the immersion heater controls. Told restaurant would open at 1900 by staff on check in; it didn't open until 2000 and only for a guest who booked a meal. Very poor service by staff.
Pros: They’re very re friendly and clean and the car parking
Cons: The location and very quite
Pros: Huge room with an impressive bed. Very confortable for a quite low price.
Pros: Bahla is a great basecamp for off-road travelers. An Nakhur Gorge, Al hootah cave, Jabal Shams etc. Here is the perfect basecamp for exploring these area. Huge bed(you can swim enough on the bed), High Speed wifi, Clean room, Kind staff. Eventually we spent two nights more longer than we expect.
Cons: If we can have one more chair for the table... I’m sure if we ask for that, they will solve the case. Thanks!
Pros: Strictly speaking this property offers fair value-for-money. It is literally a "box" in the middle of open area close to several Omani touristic sites though (Bahla fort & Souq, Al Hamra villa, Misfat Al Abryeen, Jebel Shams and the Canyons, Bat and Al Ayn beehive tombs, Jibreen castle, etc). Their asking price per night beats most other operators the area, hence their fair balance of value-for-money worth to stay in. Yet the acomodation quality for same price would be too much in most places in Europe.
Cons: Hotel starts to show some signals of wear and tear, which should be attended to avoid further deterioration. This is the fourth time I stay hence I noticed the potential level of deterioration. Yet it is "still" a clean, safe place to spend the night witht the family.
Pros: The fish biryani was superb!
Al Misfah kindergarten offers accommodation in Al Ḩamrāʼ. The accommodation features room service and a shared lounge for guests. The rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a fridge, a kettle, a bidet, free toiletries and a desk. At the guest house rooms have a wardrobe and a private bathroom. The area is popular for hiking, and car hire is available at Al Misfah kindergarten. Nizwa is 47 km from the accommodation.
Pros: The location was good and easy ot find. The room was simple but nice.
Cons: There is no one working at the place. You have to call a number and wait to check in. Worked pretty decent, the guy was there on 10 min but to phonecalls aboard is expensive.
Pros: Spaceous and clean room. Facility is located very close to the places worth visiting including Jebel Shams and Jebel Akhdar mountain walks. It was also very practical to have supermarkets and restaurants on short walking distance. The owner speaks fluent English and does his utmost best to deliver best service and help to his guests. Internet is present and works excellent.
Cons: The place seems to be quite new and could use some decorative elements to make it look more as a home.
Pros: friendly staff. Lots of room
Cons: Basic facilities.
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic because it’s in the middle of the places.
Pros: Perfect location for jebel shams, bahla and nizwa. Big room. Very friendly and helpfull host.
Cons: we arrived just before 5 o clock PM and phoned 4 times and sent a message and nobody answered . The owner's brother arrived more than an hour after. There was no wi fi. The room is correct. The house is one kilometer and a half from the restaurant wher we have breakfast with 1,5 rial ticket per person. The worst location of our stay in Oman
Pros: We really enjoy the accomodation and very nice behaviour of the owner. He is helpful, reliable and kind person with the best intentions to prepare the unforgettable family experience for the tourists. He spent long time helping us to solve a problem that has no relations with our stay here. So we would like to send once again big thanks to him and we will come again next year! ;)
Cons: We felt great there, no necessary to change anything.
Pros: I liked the quiet of the place, we even could heard a rooster at night (my husband wasn't very happy about that XD) but I loved it!
Cons: It seemed that they didn't clean the room from the previous guests... Bed sheets and towels were ok, the smell was good. But bathroom and some of the forniture in the room was't very clean...
Pros: So costly just for one night we paid 18 rials
Pros: Spacious & comfortable in an excellent location for access to Jebel Shams, Al Hamra Old Town and Misfat Al Abrayeen. Friendly, helpful staff. Close to convenience store and a nice coffee shop. Nice to have a kettle and fridge in the room and access to a communal kitchen and lounge space.
