The outdoor salt water pool was superb, all the other facilities were good too, if you wanted treatments and were prepared topay then they were all their. The food in the restaurant not brilliant, and wines very overpriced but typical of a hotel in France of that standard
Beautiful location, very helpful staff, clean rooms with balcony overlooking the sea, excellent buffet breakfast and good leisure facilities.
facilities but I wanted a appartment and I got a hotel room. Timetibles too narrow for swimming pol and poor breakfast
excellent food, helpful staff, verygood leisure facilities-thalassotherapy. rooms slightly spartan
It is well situated just outside of town with beautiful vistas. Nice to have a spa at the hotel. The hours at the spa were very limited. Closed between noon - 2 PM and after 7 PM. The room is pretty basic.
Wonderful view over Banyuls and the sea. Very comfortable. Reception staff helpful. Parking good. Limited menu during the week - one night everything we ordered was unavailable. Attendant shut swimming pool early - very offhand.
I enjoyed the use of the pools, however it would be more convenient if they opened earlier to allow a decent swim before breakfast was over. The bar was never open!! We could not understand why there was a 'shut-down' of the bar facilities between 2pm and 6.30pm and also why the bar was closed at 9pm when we returned from the town??!! It was not even possible to get a bottle of water! The rooms could do with modernising as the hotel is selling itself as a relaxing luxury resort and to be honest it would not take much more effort to make it so. The basics are there it could be awesome!!!
The bedding and towels were changed every day and our room had a superb view of the sea. Their breakfast room/restaurant had panoramic views of the sea. Hotel needed upgrading. For example, tiles were missing from the swimming pool and grouting was dirty in our bathroom. No air conditioning in our room during a very hot time of year. We slept with the window open but as we were directly above the only road in or out of the area it was quite noisy. Hotel had a steep hill or 125 steps down to the beach and town, which website does not mention.
Very relaxing and quite place The staff at the restaurant were not very friendly
The room was very basic and run down. It had a cold feeling. The hairdrier was broken. The vieuw was barely none. We had expected something completely diffrent, from what we saw on the website. The price was way too high, no value for money.
Banyuls sur mer is an extremely small village. However, this hotel is actually not located in the village. It is actually located on the other side of a rather imposing cliff. For some guests, this would be a huge problem since it makes it quite difficult to get to the town without a car. However, the location is also part of the hotel's charm. The hotel is situated on a small beach. And, there are very few people who use it in the off-season. It is also located next to a small bakery, which has tremendous pastries. When you book through Kayak, hotels apparently receive an email or fax with your payment details. Without telling you, this hotel then manually runs a hold against your credit card prior to your arrival. The problem with this approach is that American credit card companies now issue chip cards. And, they suspect fraud when the chip card is not inserted during the payment process. The consequence is that your credit card is then turned off when hotels employ these kind of holds. That is what happened to me. And, it completely ruined my one-day stay in Banyuls - as my credit card was not reactivated until two hours after my departure. To make matters worse, the hotel management did not respond to my follow-up email explaining what happened and recommending that they change their check-in procedures so that it doesn't happen to future Kayak guests.
Restaurant is amazing!!! Would be good to have more towels and more shower gel.
Kindness of people and splendid location.
Location The receptionist's lack of profissionalism. French was the only language the receptionist speaks
Once I changed rooms, nice view of the sea, sound of waves on the beach. Great restaurant 'La Littorine' but too expensive for every day, and very limited menu. Avoid the "garden rooms" (which I had originally booked) - especially if you are claustraphobic - no views because no windows! Banale "international" breakfast, with coffee from a push button machine! It's a 15 minute+ walk into the town of Banyuls-sur-Mer.
Confortable room with sea view
Friendly staff, excellent food and within easy walk of town centre. Super location beside the beach Decoration a bit tired and some minor repairs need to be done
position on beach. standard of food. pleasant staff. endless dull corridors
The reataurant was really superb. In fact I have just written a letter to them praising their hotel and I have never done this before.
Charming, helpful staff Hotel needs a facelift, but then again, it wouldn't be so inexpensive
The hotel is owned by a local family. Very kind people. The quality of the building and its rooms is very poor. For example when the wind blows outside, the bathroom door won't close properly..
View was very nice. Staff spoke minimal English, free parking was advertised but in fact we had to pay to park.
Rooms lovely, with balconies overlooking sea. Staff friendly. no
locationand friendliness of staff beds could be more comfortable
Like a youth hostel, no comfort, absolutely basic - at least clean on the first view
Location - a few steps from the town centre and port/beaches. Free car park (very small but at least available and free!) Assumed a double room would mean a double bed but we were given 2 singles. Need to state in description whether 2 singles or one double.
The location was brilliant staff helpful rooms clean and comfortable On booking was told there was car parking available but on arrival there were only a couple of spaces and they were in use
ideal location, middle of town but next to harbour, easy access to shops restaurants etc. Car parking available on pot luck basis. Helpful friendly reception.
Was central to Collioure and great location for restaurants and the tiny shingled beach. Was a lot more basic than appeared in photos on website. Had we been staying more than 3 nights we would have moved. Also, parking was a bit of a nightmare.
OK rooms, good beds, nice people at the front desk. Quiet hotel and rooms. OK, but narrow parking in the hotel yard. Right in the middle of Collioure. Stayed here before and would be happy to book again.
The very pleasant welcome and desire to be as helpful as possible
Hotel very central, room quite good size, small parking which is a plus in Collioure Bathroom was a disaster, very, very small, no shower screen so that you showered the bathroom instead of yourself when you attempted to shower. Room very sparsely furnished, only place to put case was on floor ! Would only recommend for 1 night stay
The hotel was convenient for the town and beach The car parking was restricted to about 6 or 7 cars
I had a beautiful time, the staff were excellent, very helpful and the hotel location was fantastic.
service, very friendly and helpful, good breakfast, air con room limited parking but hotel made best of it
We liked being right in the heart of Colioure with everything on the door step. The hotel does the best it can with its original lay out - lucky to have a lift although very small!
the friendliness of the staff and the excellent service of all the staff.
air conditioning dark stairways and stair lights
Close to waterfront and centre of town. Modest but clean. Warm and helpful welcome. No dinner despite fame of dining room. Modest breakfast, tired croissants.
Wonderful situation, helpful staff.
The location of hotel and the size and layout of room (#27) and bath which were all new. This was an excellent value.
location, rooms are large enough parking problems, lift is extremely small
Location and excellent reception Restaurant closed
Good value, comfortable, near to beach and restaurants and situated in a very pleasant town that is not just a resort, even next to the bus stop
The hotel location was excellent and the staff were very friendly. A bar area to meet in the evening would have been good.
Nice location just a ten minute walk from the centre of town. Good parking. There is no elevator, so be prepared for several flights of stairs. At an average cost of 80 Euros, our third floor room was reasonable value.
Staff very helpful and breakfast excellent. Difficult to find, perhaps a detailed map on website would help
Lovely hotel only five minutes walk from the centre. All the staff went over and above to make our stay enjoyable. The hillside pool was the most relaxing place. Nothing
Very pleasant atmosphere and well situated
Comfortable rooms, within easy reach of the town. Breakfast well worth the price.
Friendly staff. Location and parking convenient for the town. Room was of a good standard.
Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast good value for money, location, size of room, cleanliness of rooms quick and well done Army helicopter on manoeuvres very early in the morning
It was clean and the staff were very nice ad helpful It was very cold in the room (October and no heating) Heated swimming pool was like ice. No room facilites for tea/coffee
An excellent hotel with a warm welcome from friendly staff. In a rather overcrowded little town, it was great to have a hotel which offered parking. We will return there
the atmosphere, decor , the lovely gardens and central location no
walking on the outskirts of the castle was awesome.
A large room, tastefully decorated and attractive gardens with pool. Perfect location right in the centre of town with the added bonus of its own car park. Can be a little difficult to find as it is down a narrow alley and easy to drive past. None
Setting in a shady garden was very attractive, a very authentic building. The doors to the rooms were poor quality and therefore there was no soundproofing.
Hotel was superb, room and gardens kept well and the location was convenient to walk around.
The hotel is beautiful in an old-fashioned way and matches Collioure perfectly. The breakfast (excellent continental-style) and on-site parking are both expensive.
location, facility, courtyard, helpful people. Great place. Wifi codes are a pain to keep reentering, but not a huge issue.
wonderful staff - good location - gorgeous garden area and pool dirty room and outdated and faded carpet/ curtain, wallpaper. Bathroom bad, toilet smelly ...
Great location, characterful rooms, very clean, staff very helpful. No hot drinks available in an evening.
The room was newly renovated and on the ground floor. no
Location was great. Staff were pleasant. Room was fine.
Beautiful view from room, good size room. Only place that internet would work is in the small entry lobby at the front desk. A not so welcoming staff on our arrival in evening.
Beautiful view of the harbour, excellent facilities and a gourmet restaurant. Should have stayed longer.....
Convenience of location, position & view from room, very good breakfast, friendly English-speaking receptionist, car-parking. Cold passage from room to restaurant
Very nice place. The staff is very welcoming. The room is comfortable although small.
The location looking out over the sea, and the pleasant walk along the shoreline to the town. The breakfast was grossly overpriced and unsatisfactory.
David, the maitre d', was very helpful.
I enjoyed the aesthetics of the facilities, the priceless view and the staff at disposal to help you. Furthermore an excellent meal served on the terrace with a great scenery It would be great to allow people that travel with exclusive cars to sleep well knowing that their car is going to be safe.
The view from our room of this small fishing village and the Med was the best.....it was the reason that we picked this hotel! The desk staff were most helpful and personable. The price of 18 Euro per person for the continental plus breakfast was a bit high.....most hotels that we stayed in on this trip priced breakfast at 10-12 Euros per person which seemed better value.
The location was simply stunning, including access to the beach/sea from the hotel & water's edge walkway 5 minutes into Collioure. This alone made the hotel very special & we shall be returning. Facilities/bedroom appointments - not quite 4 star - but location more than made up for it!
We particularly liked the garden behind the terrace which was lovely to sit in. The hotel was very convenient for all that Collioure had to offer.
The staff were very helpful. The location good for train/town centre. The balcony was great. There was a comfortable bed. Basic. Slightly overpriced. Carpets not too clean.
Loction is good. Breakfast is not so valued
5Mins walk from train station. Nothing else good about this hotel. There was no welcoming atmosphere at all. I was expecting modern bath room facility for this price. Also I was initially asked to pay more than comfirmed price. I was just so disappointed...
The hotel was in a good position, offered a secure car park and was functional. I requested a room with a double bed and another with 2 singles and got 2 doubles.
Excellent hotel in town centre. Friendly staff. Good food. Would use again. Not enough parking space
Great location. A few staff we quite offhand, claiming lack of English but really I suspect it was lack of interest. One was very helpful. So-called free wifi was in fact complicated, (and I've been using in Morocco and Spaini), the web master rules here not hotel management. Doors have strange locks, some rooms don't have show/bath selection. For Euro 77 expected more.
central location of the hotel lack of parking. room's carpet could have been cleaner
the staff were very helpful and friendly.the location is excellent being right in the heart of the town the room was very dark. and the internet did not work
good location, nice room and service nothing
Location Not enough parking spaces.
Beautiful rooms and a friendly, helpful welcome. Very good and healthy breakfast.
Close to beach, shopping, restaurants.
It's close to the beach and the pedestrian part of the town, nice old building, the rooms were big enough to stay even if you are pregnant, quiet.
very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, free parking if you are lucky.
We, a family of 4, stayed in a quadruple room with ocean view for 4 nights. Overall we had a good experience. It's good value for the money. However, we would stay in a family studio/suite next time. For about the same or a bit more money, you would get bigger space, and a kitchenette.
good view of the beach and harbour , very quiet location good buffet breakfast for the price we were under the impression it was nearer to the port area than it actually is
The staff spoke English and were helpful and friendly. I liked the location. The view from my room was beautiful. Having to pay 9 euros for a very ordinary breakfast.
It's location was very good, on the edge of the town but away from noise and bustle. I thought the rooms were a bit basic for the price.
The town is wonderful Everything
The setting and views were excellent. Convenience to the town also a plus. Friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel was excellent in every way, our room was always clean the bedding was changed daily! The area the hotel was based in was fabulous as it lead to many walks along the sea front with the luxury of knowing we were only a short walk away from our hotel should the weather change for the worst! Also as we were both recovering from hospital treatment, being based so close to the views meant that we could rest whenever we needed to without missing out on the views as our room over looked the sea. We came early in the season and as we arrived late at night the staff had put some heating on for us so the room was warm and inviting. There honestly was not one thing I could say about this hotel that is bad, everything was fabulous.
Great location: you see sea and the castle from your bed when you are awake, great terrace, free parking (even after check out). Nice and kind personal at the reception/ Breakfast is good but it is not really a buffet as it is advertized.
View over port attractive, and proximity to town (walking); staff helpful allowing us to park our car after we had checked out Very noisy - directly on road and access to parking extremely tricky and then very restrictive and difficult space - also fairly expensive for what it was. Comparable tariff at hotel opposite (2 star) and both quieter and more attactive view
Fantastic view from the room and Collioure just a short walk away so really convenient for evening eating etc. Simple, basic amenities with a hand held shower and no wall mounted slot to put it in and no hairdryer. Parking is tricky with almost no room to turn cars round on a hillside road, so don't intend on using a large car when staying at this hotel.
Pleasant welcome and helpful staff. Clean, well-appointed room with great views over the sea. Quiet at night A little inflexible about catering arrangements at night
Good location; close to Collioure; free parking; excellent restaurant in hotel; friendly and efficient reception; quiet and clean room.
The hotel is about 2km from the centre of Collioure which allowed one to escape the crowds. Very nice location with a great pool and access to a quiet cove. Excellent food and very nice staff. Rooms comfortable and spotless
The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the free parking was very helpful. No coffee maker in room and no internet access for those of us who do not carry laptops or I-pads.
Of the 7 hotels we stayed in during our holiday in southern France this was the best of an excellent bunch! The people, the hotel and the location were just great.
Staff was nice and accommodating, seaside location was awesome, and it was good to be 10 minutes walk from city center for the relative tranquility the site afforded. Lights from nearby road at night made it necessary to close curtains for sleep (but not a big deal).
It's a nice building in a nice location, although to get to Collioure you need to walk about 15 minutes. The staff is friendly, and we got a suite which could have hosted four persons (just one bathroom and one toilets room though). The hotel has a swimming pool, I do not know about the access to the beach as we got late there anbd stayed only for one night. The one problem we encountered was with the Internet connectivity - it is by cable TV, and did not work for us. The night watch could not help in any way with it (and yes, we do speak French). One more problem - breakfast is very basic.
Friendly staff and very comfortable, spacious room with sunny balcony overlooking a quiet cove. Also, there was good parking space - a rarity in Colliore. It was a pity that the restaurant was closed as it was late in the season, although breakfast was available.
