What are the pros of staying at Ibis budget Berlin Potsdamer Platz?
Perfect location; very good breakfast! Very friendly and helpful staff! Great value for money. Close to city center. The location was great. Rooms are very small, but still ok. Nice comfy room and friendly staff. Perfect location. Good as any ibis budget in the world. Good location, good hotel. Great location and affordable price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great access to public transport in all directions. Location is very good! Clean room, helpful staff, bed was comfy. The location and price can't be beat. It was a well-maintained budget hotel. It was a very nice stay and the Staff was very attentive and supportive. Congratulations for the team who was responsible to take care of such Hotel during News Year, they did a great job. The location was perfect just 5 or 10 minutes to railway station on foot. The room was clean enough and the breakfast was delicious. Especially the croissants were the freshest and most delicious croissants I have eaten in any Hotel. Location was perfect for everything. Breakfast was excellent value. The location is practical, right next to the train station and the staff is polite. The location is well connected. clean room, good price, very good location, proper breakfast, nice staff. Localization is really great! Near S-bahn and U-bahn but also all main attraction available on foot. Reception staff was very nice and helpful, and the location was perfect. Nice room, staff also.. Really central, 5 minute walk to Potsdamer Platz, Mall of Berlin and the Bunker Museum, room was comfortable. Location is very good - you have food store and train station very close, places on interest not far. Good shower, good enough bed. Basic accomodation, friendly staff. It was good value. The breakfast was very good and 12 o clock checking was good. The staff was very nice, breakfast was fine and the room was clean as expected. Location was excelent. Close to Potsdamer Platz. Also ubahn and sbahn. Plenty of resraurants around to eat.
What are the cons of staying at Ibis budget Berlin Potsdamer Platz?
No refrigerator in the hotel room. The bed were not comfortable at all. No conditioner in the shower. Slow check-in. Shower-head was broke in 2 out of 3 rooms. Smell of sewer in room. There was no option of hot food for breakfast. In five days we had our towels changed and toilet cleaned daily, but they never swept the floor! The bathroom is not separated from the main room. The toiled is separated and the shower, but the sink is in the middle. Nothing was bad. All perfect. only the distance a bit a issue, others really fine. Our room had bad air quality, presumably from the air heating (felt dusty and very dry). We turned of the heating and opened the window regularly. Hairdryer can be borrowed from the reception, but there only seem to be 30 Hairdryers for 100+ Rooms. Good location but the room is very small; there is no space for suitcases or belongings. In the bathroom, there is no shampoo or conditioner, nor hand towels. It's a tourist hotel for sleeping after exploring the city, but not for staying and enjoying the space. The hotel's location is very convenient, close to everything. Shampoo/conditioner, hand towel, and a shelf or stand for placing things/suitcases are not luxuries and would be fair within the cost. There was no ventilation in the toilet or maybe I don't remember but it was very stuffy. The shower was inside the bathroom, I mean it was separated from the room by glass. I just wanted to mention about these 2 cases just in case. The bathroom didn't have a great exhaust system; it smelled a bit, even when we first arrived. The room was extremely minimal. There was no mini-fridge or microwave, no drawers for clothes, no clock–there weren't even many flat surfaces to put your stuff on. Lack of plugs in bedroom. The check-in experience was horrible. The man in charge of our check-in was incredibly rude and borderline, verbally aggressive. He made me feel uncomfortable and to be honest l’ve been around and have had my fair share of check-in-experiences… but this one topped them all. He was not welcoming, not friendly, not collaborative only commanding and ordering us around. His eye-contact was daring, like he was looking for a fight. I apologised for not speaking German, but he was still not believing me and told me : “you do understand German!” only because I said a shy “danke” when he tossed me my ID back. It’s hard to describe how he made me feel, but I needed a couple of hours to get back to myself after this horrendous incident. Nothing against the hotel itself - but this specific staff member should rethink his career, because “guest service” or “receptionist” shouldn’t be it. The fireworks on the street was something I had never experienced before. It was a bit scary but in the hotel room everything was quite and calm! For the money we paid for staying in the premise. It was not worth it. There was no breakfast included, and even though the staff were nice. I would not be able to go back to this hotel again. If you are traveling on a low budget, If you want to stay in a comfortable room and cental location this hotel is very good and enough. But you shouldn’t have high expectation in the room. Everyhing is minimal buy enough?? Thank you so much. I think more towels should be provided per person since one towel is not enough. The bathroom was just ok..And maybe in this price we booked our room they should include a hairdryer and breakfast without an extra charge. I did not like that there wasn't an independent bathroom in the room.... the toilet was in a small closet.... the wash-hand basin in the room.... and the shower was a self contained cubicle with a glass door, in the bedroom!!!!!! The room looked dirty and the bed was not comfortable. there was no wardrobe. Personnel at the Reservation desk and cleaning personnel were very friendly. But at the breakfast saloon, there was a lady I did not know her name. She was filling the bread. She behaved passive-aggressively and unkind to my child and my family. Except for this event hotel and personnel were very friendly and helpful. I thank them. Only thing missing was a hair dryer. The bed was not comfortable at all. Pillows small. Felt like sleeping on bricks, but you get what you pay for. Breakfast was ok, but it is exactly same every day, so gets quite boring quickly if tou stay for longer time. Shower has small window on the door to the room, so could be awkward if you are staying there with anyone who is not your partner. The cleaning person kept coming inside my room “while I am in the room!” On the first day I was sleeping on my bed, and when I opened my eyes because of noise, there was a lady standing by the door holding a towel asking me if I need a new towel. I repeat. I was sleeping? She just stood there and kept asking me question until I gave her the answer. So from the second day, I kept the sign on my door but same thing happened again. There was another person who tried to come inside my room while I am washing. Again, they asked me if I need a new towel. I think this is funny because they have a policy to not change towels unless it is asked, as what I saw at the reception. I left a few of my personal things and after calling them a few minutes after they said that they didn’t find anything. This was very disappointing to me. Breakfast very poor and without any hot dish. Shower in room, not in bathroom ? is not in great when you travel with friend.
