Pros: Great food, great location, great staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant is absolutely outstanding, always overbooked, make sure you reserve a table for dinner when you stay. Beautiful walks in the area
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Dinner at own restaurant very good. Comfy bed and spacious room were appreciated. Free parking across road - IN THE SHADE!
Cons: The breakfast as such was a little disappointing, especially after the very good meal the night before. One of (senior?) staff appeared to be suffering from stress.
7.9 Good
Pros: The small hotel with a fantastic restaurant is located amidst vineyards in the little town of Solutré, right under the famous rock and archaeological site. The staff is a little snobby (this is France after all) and you do have to carry your luggage up at least one flight of stairs (possibly more, depending on your room). The rooms are basic, but clean, with a couple of nice touches (like local sweets on the table).
Cons: The hot water broke down while we were there and there didn't seem to be a quick way to fix it. This didn't both us, as we had already showered and were on our way out, but another couple we ran into were stuck having cold showers. Brrr.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: It was good
Cons: We enjoyed our stay. Lovely location very rural and pretty but convenient to the Autoroute, important for us as we traveling north on a 2 day journey through France to Calais. The restaurant was great but the staff very officious which spoilt things slightly.

We had a little dégustation and got some wine. Daniel and Christine are very friendly, wonderful service, and the rooms are beautiful. The best croissant we had all holiday, and fab breakfast. NB the village only has one restaurant and it has a Michelin star. Prebook, or have a picnic overlooking the vines.
Cons: Nil, would love to come back.

Cons: NA
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This room is in a house in the middle of vineyards. The host's day jobs is growing famous Burgundy white wine. She (and her husband) are very friendly and if you are keen to practice your French discussing wine, life in France etc, then these lovely hosts are highly recommended. We came here for cycling and for wine tasting, and both are excellent here. The village itself is tiny and has only a few hundred inhabitants... However, it has a very nice 1-star restaurant, which also has a bistro attached, so you have very nice food in a very quiet and lovely surrounding, then walk home (a few hundred meters).
Cons: Nothing bad to report...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an overnight stop on our way south and the fact that we tried to book for our return journey before we left should say it all - unfortunately, L'Estaminet was fully booked for the date we wanted, but we will return on a future trip. Our dogs were given the warmest of welcomes and even treated for fromage frais (in china bowls) for breakfast, The hotel is traditional, comfortable and a relatively short distance from the motorway. The highlight, however, was our meal, I commented that my smoked salmon starter was the best I have ever tasted and was told that chef and proprietor Cedrick does his own smoking - delicious as was the rest of the meal and it was amazing value for money. We look forward to a return visit.

Pros: The Hotel itself, room, shower, lunchroom looks good in french style. At all it was clean. The boss did everything a very intense worker.
Cons: The staff didn't have the french charm - doesn't much which culture. In break-fast the hotel gives you two 500 gr jam pot, which surely a lot of people put their licked spoon inside - I couldn't use it because of that - this should be forbidden. Check-in time very short between 17:00 and 20:00.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is rare that an overnight stay becomes such an integral and essentially central part of the travel experience - but so it was. We have spent a magical weekend in Burgundy focusing on the medieval heritage of this amazing region, and Maison Romane was by itself a point of interest and admiration for the beautiful preservation work and design of the owners. To top that with impeccable cleanliness, warmest welcome with an aperitif and a snack and a plentiful breakfast !
Cons: Nothing. People having trouble with medieval spiral staircases should carefully consider.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about this unique property. An amazing host who provides everything you need including welcome drink and snacks and a wonderful breakfast. Perfect in every way!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were given the family room which was a curious and intriguing space on 3 levels. As a listed building marvellous old features like hidden doors, windows and winding stairs were left while a modern bathroom and kitchen where installed for comfort. Interesting furniture and fabric decorated the rooms making them wonderful to be in. Great location in the centre of Cluny.
Cons: Nothing. However the spiral stone staircase to the rooms is unavoidably steep and some treads quite narrow. This cannot be changed and is in itself beautiful, but it could prove difficult for the less able bodied.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything exceeded expectations, the room was quiet, charming, comfortable and spacious, we were given a very warm welcome and a wonderful breakfast. The owners have restored this historic building beautifully, retaining the character yet providing all the mod cons.
