great sea view with big balcony. fantastic facilities for cooking and keeping things cold. also great bathroom plus ideal for kids and I don't have any! pool closed but probably because out of seasion
location, excellent views and quality of apartment
location, room our double buggies did not fit into the lift or the hotel room, also we were not allowed a late check out
The whole deal. centrally located, on-site parking, friendly staff, clean and bright, fantastic sea and coastline views and the price. I recommend it! I liked it all.
It is ideally located with easy access to bakery and regular shops. It was great to have the small kitchen in the room especially when the kids needed to eat early in the evening. Also the restuarant allowed us to take food up to the room, best of both world's. I would go back to the hotel but I'd bring my own pillow and also to beware that the majority of people staying there are older and I was very aware of having the children running around.
The view of the coastline from Le Grand Large was spectacular. The hotel is located within easy access of shops, restaurants, transportation. Having 2 non-working elevators for a period of time was unacceptable for a hotel with 9 floors.
They had booked a large party of young sports men who were out late at night and were very very noisey on their return and distrubed two of our nights sleep.
We liked the hotel the area and the accomadition also the very spacious room and of course the well equipped kitchen
We stay here for a week-end visiting Biarritz. The hotel is very well located. The rooms are small but very pretty and clean. The bathroom also small but new and clean. Perfect hotel for a week-end in Biarritz! As it is located in front of the beach, there is no easy pace for parking. But anything is perfect!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a great location right on the beach and we had a partial sea view even though we ordered a courtyard view. The room was quite small but had everything we needed and was modern, clean and stylish.
The hotel is very well placed just in front of the ocean and very close to the centre of Biarritz. You just have a street to cross to be on the main beach. The room is comfortable and I loved its design. Nice view on the ocean (room on the ocean side) and if you closed the windows, absolutely quiet, otherwise the noise of the ocean. No private parking place. Public parking (casino) very close but might be a pb in high season and week-ends.
The check in was faultless, even though we were later then anticpated, the location is excelent, ideal for shopping or going to the beach or even getting on a bus to go out of town.I Would definitely stay at the hotel again, also it was very good value for money.
The location at the Grand Plage with the ocean wiew. Small slow elevator, expensive in relation to standard, bathroom poor standard with bad smell.
Staff very friendly, excellent facilities Wooden floors not very practical for sound. Breakfast expensive
excellent location- very clean-friendly staff and very good breakfast
A great room with a great view in a very well located hotel. Staff was friendly and hard working.
A good hotel, excellent cleaning, friendly staff. Very noisy at night from people walking along the embankment.
the hotel was adequate for a short stay,I would not like to be there more than a few days as the facilities were quite basic. Rather plain.
The rooftop pool and terrace are spectacular at sunset.
Comfort and friendly staff. breakfast needs to be improved for Irish residents in the hotel
The Hotel is clean and relaxing loved the roof top pool. We wanted to eat in the hotel but on 2 occasions the rooms were taken with private parties, not impressed.
location excellent. found all staff were welcoming, friendly & efficient spa was closed and was one of reasons for choosing hotel. breakfast €23 too expensive
Very nice view from terrasa, cafe and pool
We were travelling from the Costa Blanca to Poitiers and it was an excellent place to stop. It was our first time in Biarritz and we had time to see the city and drink a few beers by the sea front. We had dinner in the hotel which was very good. Normallt we would eat out but we were not impressed with the restaurants in Biarritz. We selected some champagne coctails from the bar menu which arrived 20 mins later after the bar staff had received some training!
Everything Limited selection and quantity of food
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull
Nothing special, just good for thus price.
Hotel very central to surfers beach, shops and restaurants. Room large, clean and very comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom with towelling robes. Rooftop terrace and heated pool amazing with fantastic views of Biarritz. Staff at reception were very helpful and polite. They recommended and booked some lovely restaurants for us.
Close to main town and pool was nice with good bar service AC didn't cool room down very well
The location of the hotel was superb, allowing one of us to surf and one of us to shop! The decor and ambience of the hotel and the friendliness and efficiency of the staff meant that we had one of the best experiences of a small hotel we have ever had. Parking.... Public underground Car Park (Bellevue) close by which the hotel uses but beware height restriction is 1.90m.
The staff at the hotel were delightful, although the room had not been thoroughly cleaned and a broken tv was not mended. As above
the view from my window the quality of the breakfast and the small area that it's served in, poor value for €20
I liked the situation of the room and views were lovely. Staff did not bother me during the day and were helpful when I requested anything. I was not happy to be charged for breakfast which I did not take. The receptionist made a deduction for this but had I not checked the bill I would have been overcharged by 120€. Also Wifi was claimed to be free throughout the hotel but I wS charged 1.65€ per day for this.
The location was excellent as the hotel is situated in the middle of town and facing the beach and sea. The decor was very nice indeed and the staff were always helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We also ate in the restaurant and whilst expensive, both the food and service were outstanding. We would fully recommend this hotel. N/a
friendly staff and contemporary style Lack of sun on balcony
Being on a pedestrian square, the hotel is very quiet and yet has a fine view of the Grand Plage. It is very well placed for shopping and for strolling along the sea front. The staff were very friendly and their English much better than my French!
Fabulous location, charming staff and delicious food. Wonderful view from our room and small terrace. Stylish decor throughout the hotel. Appalling weather! Obviously not the fault of the hotel, but there was little to do in torrential rain. Nowhere to buy English newspapers eve.
1. Clean rooms and magnificent view of the Grand Plage. 2. Helpful and friendly staff. 3. Central location. 1. No shower curtain when taking shower in the bathtub, water all over the floor!
Locashion, stuff is very helpfull. For sure the brekfast is bad
Small and very cosy hotel with friendly staff. The room is too small but quiet and nice furnished with stylish bathroom and modern plumbing equipment. It'll be great to pay less but it's Biarritz at hot season!!!!
centrally located near beach and resturants room was very small
Fab new hotel, good staff who showed us our room personally, lovely flat screen TV, not that you be watching it, lovely power shower, comfy bed. LIked that WC was in separate room to Shower. Would highly recommend this beach central hotel. No faults, in time this should get lonely planet mention.
I stayed at the hotel with my husband and mother. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very polite and friendly and the location is excellent. However we did feel that the cost of our stay was a bit steep as the hotel rooms were small and needed a little bit of a face lift.
Location No car parking
Close to everything. New hotel. Nice staff. It was not able to lock the door to the room until 3 days was gone.
Newly renovated so in excellent condition. Room good size and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel is excellent also. Although the bedroom was made up on the second day the dirty towels in the bathroom were not replaced.
Biarritz is a beautiful toewn. Too exprensive for what it was.
The Hotel was warm and friendly
Excellent location, close to beach and shops/restaurants Ocean-side room required you to step out onto tiny balcony and crane your neck to see the ocean.
The location is excellent and it is a good value for the money.
Excellent staff, fantastic location, lovely atmosphere in the hotel. Very comfortable bed. Good food in the hotel and good value. No mirror in the bedroom, only in the bathroom. The carpets in the corridors need to be cleaned, as in their current state they give the wrong impression. When we arrived the hotel had no knowledge of our booking, this is true. We were lucky to get the room.
Very friendly and welcoming staff . The whole hotel feels very relaxed .Excellent location facing the sea with a good bar ( with chatty locals ) and restaurant nearby. Free internet a plus. Very comfortable seating area outside. Bedroom very comfortable and spacious. Liked the hotel but only point is could do with facilities for tea/coffee in room , not provided, which is typical of french hotels. But they do provide cheerful room service for continental breakfast at a price .
Location and value Very poor soundproofing
Location was superb. Restaurant was good, nothing to go orgasmic about but absolutely no complaints. Wine list was reasonable. Breakfast was ordinary and you couldn't order any food from the kitchen until 9am
The excellent location and view of the sea, the hotel decor and the facility of having a restaurant outside.
It is a very central location the room we had was nice but very very small and the door in the bathroom was hard to closed even though the showers and facilities were very clean. I did not like the availability of information about Biarritz or even suggestions on where to go even what nite clubs or bars that could be recommended. Also we found the drink to be the most expensive in the area in the hotel two glasses of wine were €11 and the bottle was nearly €11 in another hotel. Big difference. A bit of entertainment music would be nice. But we did have a great time .
We had an ocean view room, and with such a stunning coastline view on offer it would be crazy to have any other room. The little balcony is perfect for watching the surf and sunset.
good location, nice staff shabby room, overpriced
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The overall room was light and airy. The bathroom was updated and spotless. The mattress was a little soft - although the rest of the bedding was lovely. With the window open, the street was a little noisy at night (~9-11pm) but then quieted down
lovely to be so near the sea, the hotel was beautiful and very efficiently and calmly run. The breakfast was delicious. The bedrooms were beautiful and the beds very comfortable.
Friendly Staff.Cleanliness. Rooms weren't very big, but still fine.
nice and charming hotel
Very cosy and nice hotel, the staff very polite. The hotel is beautiful, everything in stlie, with wonderful Edwardian decorations, comrtable beds. Yes I would go back any time. Located in a short walking distance from the center.
Very good location and helpful staff I was surprised that there wasn't a waste paper basket in the hotel room
Pleasant staff very small room, difficult to get into double bed from one side. Lighthouse beam disturbing during night.
Staff was very accomodating. Since there is no elevator, and I was staying for just one night traveling with a heavy suitcase following a business trip, I was offered a room on a lower floor and the staff carried my bag to the room. They provided a map of the city and directions to local sites. The hotel really merits its inclusion in the Charming Hotels of France.
The hotel feels very cosy, the rooms are in excellent condition and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The public areas are great for relaxing. We will definitively stay there again on our next visit to Biarritz.
The decor Aircon was broken and our room was very hot. Also due to the floorboards going through to the next room, we were woken up by the next door guests a lot.
Great location, helpful staff, comfortable room, good breakfast - all in all. a very good experience. Welcome bag a nice and original touch.
I liked the central location of the hotel and the inroom tea/coffee making facility was welcome. The room was too small aand the breakfast offered was expensive.
Great location, clean room and a good breakfast
My partner adn I stayed for one night in this hotel. Its location is fantastic - it is right in the middle the main shopping street! We had an Ocean view Room on the 8th floor and it really was worht the extra money - the view was gordeous both to sit and relax in teh evening and also waking up in the morning it was spectacular....The room was clean - a little small - but well designed and clever use of space & had a nice designer quality finish. No Complaints!!!
We had a wonderful stay here, The service in the hotel was very good, the welcome pack including a backpack was great, it would be a great example for other city break hotels. great location for beach, shopping and sightseeing. Will stay here again. The only complaint could have was the weather was poor for our stay, not that the hotel could be blamed for that!
The location was excellent. No.
The location. The rooms were rather basic.
Free parking, location to beach, friendly service. Late night disco made for some loud noise in the early morning.
Return to Hotel Anjou- room was much better than initial room Initial room was small, depressing and gloomy. Iron bars at window and darkness of room made it seem more like a prison. Two lots of lights did not work after arrival. Very expensive for what it was.
Comfortable room with enough space, big bathroom, free parking, kind staff, super location. irregular change of bath towels and pillowcase
Very good location, near beach and shops and restaurants
very friendly staff; family hotel; comfortable room; good location; easy reach from airport; good service.
Nice hotel in the city centre, not far from the ocean. We had a small view on the ocean and the roofs, I enjoyed it!
Central location, ease of access to centre, friendly welcome, good value for money. Perfect for a base to explore from. Bathroom facilities could be modernised.
The hotel was in an excellent location and was clean. The hotel is a bit run down and lacked a lounge area.
Location (central and near the beach), parking, building To small bed, not confortable
quiet convenient location, character of building, view from room very small shower room, only one chair in room, 66 steps up & no lift (we knew this in advance)
It was comfortable and the breakfast served on the terrace was memorable. It seemed rather expensive given there was no bar or restaurant and services were minimal.
Excellent service and hospitality. English speaking hosts, authentic decor and very clean. Close to town centre and beach. Private parking.
the room was large and spaciou, hotel was very central and the staff were friendly and helpfull. lack of tea-making facilities.
very nice people and very situated the bathrooms were not finish and look very old . they should have done them as they refurfurbish the rooms
Excellent location for access to the town for eating and a short walk to the beaches, nice people, and a car park which is important in this location. reviews of hotels in Biarritz often mention road noise but we had no problem although it was september.
Friendly welome and assistance with information Slight odour of cooking food when we arrived early in teh morning
Location, friendly, cleanliness Breakfast, no tea making facilities
Great location for walking to both beaches. We had many bakeries and cafes to choose from for breakfast. Hotel owners are very helpful. Good value for the money and one of the only hotels we found that accommodated 2 adults and 1 child for a reasonable price. Flat screen tv in room was nice. We would stay here again and recommend this hotel. Walls are thin. Very basic bathroom (RV style).
it was close to the beach very noisy as we had a balacony therefore our room was facing onto the street which was very noisy during the night.the balacony was tiny i wouldn;t recommend getting it.rooms were small ok for a couple of nites.
It was well positioned. Fridge in room Unable to use any plug sockets to charge telephone etc.
Good location, 150 metres from the beach.
convenient location I wouldhave liked Tea/coffee facilities in room
its location in biarritz air conditioning not working and noisy when in use.
Centre of town location Noisy at night, had two single beds instead of double, no parking (nightmare in Biarritz)
Location, friendliness of staff and owners
The hotel was positioned near the old port and very convenient for visiting the town. The room was in a poor state of repair and there was very poor sound insulation. The noise from the street was extreme and it was not possible to sleep until 3.00 a.m. The hotel is not suitable for families or those seeking a good nights sleep.
Friendly staff- great location
its location Hotel was noisy late at night.
Location fab. Room comfortable although bathroom very small. All in all good value for money and will probably stay again! Breakfast not worth the money. Cafes round the corner which had a good choice.
Very Good Central Location Very Steep Hill to the hotel and no lift in the hotel only stairs
How central it was to the main part of the town and beaches and as a budget hotel it was excellent value for money. Warm and friendly reception when we arrived and provision of a local map. Bathroom smelt musty and damp and we had to keep the windows open 24/7 and the carpets are badly stained throughout. We were on top floor and there is no lift. Good exercise though!
location to beach was good a bit shabby, room was small, and fairly clean but corridors were smelly. TV did not work, no hairdryer. Quiet a steep walk to hotel so not suitable for those with walking difficulties
Just how short it is to the city center. The room was too small, nothing in it to make you velcome, no coffee or anything to fresh you up, and the cardigan for the window is just awful and too small for the window. And the brekfast is just horrible and much too expencive.
reasonably situated hotel with friendly staff the bathroom was extremely small
showers were too small
Location was good, close to the city center. Did not like anything else. Small room, little light at night (impossible to read), uncomfortable beds, everything looks not clean. Hardly any outlets. terrible smell in the bathroom from old pipes. Bathroom tiny, old shower curtain. Toilet seat and cover will not stand vertically and keeps falling on you. Thin walls and doors, you can hear everything. Old carpets. No parking - street parking was all taken. Will not come back. It's amazing how the quality of hotels drops when you drive from Spain to France.
Friendly staff. They found us poles for our flags, and let us leave our luggage in a room after checking out. Close to the beach and the town centre. Good value. the rooms we were in for 2 adults were actually family rooms with a double bed in one room and 2 singles in the adjoining room with an open space (no door) separating the two areas! It took us a while (10 minutes) to find staff to check in. Whilst each adjoining room had a shower, there was just 1 toilet
