This hotel was decorated tastefully and to a high standard. We arrived in January when it was freezing outside. There were three open fires burning. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent (with one exception). The porridge was disappointingly cool, had lumps of formed skin in i and had little or no salt. Not good for an expensive hotel in Scoland. Dogs are allowed in the bedrooms only, so while we were eating, our dog was out in the car despite it being -7degrees C. Surely in the winter they could allow dogs better shelter.
Stayed in the Riverview rooms with beautiful view of the River Tay only about 30 metres away. Room very spacious, nicely decorated with comfortable bed and lovely en-suite. Meals excellent, beautifully presented, with very extensive wine list. Evening meal and wines however rather expensive.
Wonderful setting; peace and tranquility; friendly, attentive staff; good food;relaxing atmosphere;well appointed rooms; convenient for A9; Dundee and Perth Perhaps lost some of the elegance of former days; direct booking overpriced; rather restricted menu e.g. no a la carte on a mid week evening; some of the staff need a little more training at table service.
the luxury of the bedroom and comfort of the lounges with log fires
arrived on a dark and very wet evening, so the greatest surprise was when I opened the curtains in the morning, the veiw was breathtaking, the river Tay flows through the garden.I liked everything , wish I could have stayed longer than one night.
excellent location, excellent food, great ambiance but we only stayed one night so we did not do any of the nature stuff
Hotel and grounds were excellent, Dinner menue was good and the food very good The breakfast was a let down. The cooked food was cold and had been lying in the kitchen for some time, bacon etc hard and uneatable. even the poached egg had been pre cooked! Worst cooked breakfast ever
The Staff were all very friendly & efficient, room overlooking the river was very good value for money as a single traveller.Food was of a good standard .
comfort,excellent location,food all first class
No room service
close to train station/city lady in bar not friendly
It was good value for money Better insulation between the bedrooms could be introduced. I was woken several times during the night due to noise from other rooms
Very friendly and helpful staff. A nice restful environment.
Excellent breakfast, bright dining room, very central for Perth Theatre. Bed was poor - lumpy
Central location and excellent value for money. All-you-can-eat breakfast. This is a very old building which is rambling in nature and so somewhat difficult to find your way around. My bedroom was clean and comfortable and adequately equiped but could not be described as luxurious.
nice traditional hotel. Lovely big breakfast On arrival, the hotel had no note of our booking. Thankfully I had taken a print out of my online booking
The staff were quick to amend the mistake in reservation for dinner. The staff were really friendly and efficient. The toilet in our room was less than clean ideallly needed a deep clean or ripped out and refurbished. The room itself was very dated but fairly comfortable.
Handy for workplace
the location of the room was above a noisy generator.
The location and quaintness of the hotel. Hospitality tray was poor(not even a biscuit). We stayed in May but it compared unfavourably with our previous stay. In an already poorly soundproofed hotel(which we knew anyway) we were rudely awakened in the middle of the night leading to a guest being evicted.
A very nice hotel - very cental - clean and comfortable. I do espeially like the iron and ironing board in room as well as hairdryer - very handy. I noticed the tiles etc in the bathroom are getting rather tired and discoloured. clean though.
Location, friendly staff, nice room with modern facilities bathroom could have been cleaner
nothing!! The fact that there is a disabled toilets on the first floor with two flights of steps and no lift or access!!! Limited car park access.
Friendly reception & staff generally. Walking distance from attractions of Perth. Seemed expensive. Our breakfast was extra
Reception--Surly,and slow and not interested in us.Poor advert for Ramada. Dining room waiter very attentive and helpful. Dreich and cold in the reception/lounge/bar area.
Nice hotel, no capmplaints
The hotel had a very central location & was very easy to find. It was full of character as it is a converted water mill. Would recommend this hotel & would definitely stay there again!
Clean room, friendly staff Room was too warm through the night
The hotel was extremely friendly, clean and staff very helpful. Although the breakfast was adequate for us and was extremely well cooked, it was advertised as a full english which unfortunately it wasn't,
Very friendly staff, could not be more helpful.
The hotel was very comfortable, our room was lovely, and the staff were very welcoming. We had a good breakfast both mornings and had drinks in the evening in the residents lounge. It was in an ideal position as you could walk over the railway bridge to Perth town centre in 10 -15minutes. Nothing
proximity to city centre with nice walk there over bridge: caring owner intent on making you welcome.
The staff were very helpful No
Friendly staff. excellent food and a good location. The walk to the city center over the River Tay via the railway bridge is great. (The owner recommended this to us try it!)
Very nice room, very clean and comfortable. Car Parking, close to town centre slight noise from main road, double glazing wold reduce this.
Enjoyed the decor & relaxed feel of the hotel N/A
The owners took pride in their service they provided.
access to city centre no
Central Helpful staff Shower in bathroom very poor
room was fantastic and restaurant (with view of Tay) was lovely-particularly loved our high tea experience car parking a bit of a problem
The view of the River Tay was great. The breakfasts were pretty good as well. All of your staff was very nice and accomodating. You need a bellman or porter. There are many stairs and it is very difficult to carry up your luggage alone. My Mother was with us and she is 76 years old and unable to carry her luggage up several flights of stairs. It was unfair that the ladies at the from desk had to help us get our luggage to our room. The parking situation was terrible as well. I know this is a very old hotel but the parking spaces were very difficult to get into at the side of the hotel and many nights it was already full.
Unfortunately we could only stay one night on this visit, but definitely plan to return and stay longer. The hotel was comfortable and welcoming and we were given the Tay Suite overlooking the river which was a lovely room with an old world charm - which often lacking in hotels today Lack of hot water for bath and showers
We booked a mini-suite but this turned out to be on the 3rd floor (no lifts) which was unsuitable for 70+ year olds with moving problems but the hotel quickly changed the room to one on the 1st floor which was excellent overlooking the river and Perth bridge - ideal for us.
All good No complaints
the location for shopping trip finding a place to park. the food was very poor
Pleasant surroundings and facilities.
Due to the hotel being quiet we were offered a choice of two suites which was really nice. We liked the hotel and staff. Only downside was no one around at night to serve us in the bar after one initial drink so we just had to go back to the room (it was only about midnight).
Friendly staff with great central location. Clean, comfortable and roomy. Excellent breakfasts too.
Excellent discrete customer service. Welcomed with a tray of tea and biscuits. The standards were extremely high in all aspects There was nothing that would merit any detrimental comment.
Cleanliness. Friendliness. Excellent breakfasts.Little extras such as coffee for friends made all the difference. Spotless linen Rooms were small but this was unavoidible as bathrooms had been addedwhich used up space
Owner went out of his way to be of assistance.
How the owner made us feel so welcome and did everything possible to make our stay a comfortable one. No complaints
Peter was very welcoming and breakfast was great. inquired to what we were in Perth for and put us in a room to suit our late evening return.
The host is extremely friendly and offers support in finding restaurants and information on local events. Overall an excellent stay. The street noise can be a bit laud but we did not see that as a big problem.
Excellent Service, excellent breakfast! We love it! Next time we want to stay a little bit longer.
The guest house was very clean and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Rooms at the front face onto a busy road which can be disturbing at night. Rooms at the rear of the house are much quieter.
The owner is a very nice person who whent out of his way to accomadate all our needs during our stay, breakfast were cooked to perfection, and the guest house was immaculate
A pleasant stay. A small amount of traffic noise, but not too annoying.
The hotel was very easy to find and in a good location with a good place to eat very near by within walking distance.
The hotel was modern and had all the facilities required for a business trip. The breakfast was sufficient. We would have preferred to have been served by somebody at breakfast. Self service was complicated and didn't seem to reduce the number of staff in the dining area.
I was on a business trip, the restaraunt next door was very good. The tv set was of historical value only, useless for watching tv
The barman was happy to serve guests all night if they wished and the staff generally were very chatty. It wasn't your fault, but it was a long walk to the station in the morning thru' driving snow...since there were no taxis or buses!
Friendly staff, breakfast, and restuarant next to the hotel. Children stayed at no extra charge. Very accessable to the motorway Room was very small for the price
Friendliness of the receptionist Lack of on site catering
Staff, facilities and cleanliness No everything was great
~Clean, everything worked, a good shower, large bed, the place was in very good decorative order
perfect budget hotel all round.
Toilet and room very good layout. Staff excellent. Matresses too hard.
Liked location ; quiet, no traffic noise, close to major roads, nice to have 'security' on airport, which helps safeguard the hotel, and spacious room, pet friendly.,which important to us.
The room was of good size, nicely furnished and clean. The staff at the front desk were nice and ready to help. The continental breakfast was good. The bed was a bit hard and the internet availablity was only from 9am to 9pm. Had to wait for the office to open at 9am to checkout.
It's clean, comfortable and cheap. Nothing.
location and friendliness of staff he bed was really uncomfortable very hard as on a wooden base. The pilloqa way too soft
Clean, friendly and good value for money Breakfast was limited, more choice of food and drinks
Arrived late - night staff were freidly and helpful People (other guests) were smoking outside our room door, and the corridor smelt of smoke. I feel uncomfortable opening the windows on ground floor. The beds had plastic covers on them that were sticky and uncomfortable
Very friendly helpful staff. Nice clean well equipped room. None.
None The buildings were old and in poor repair. The place was unwelcoming. We were disturbed until 3am by noisy guests running up and down the corridor shouting and swearing outside our flimsy insecure room door.
Very nice rooms, small prices. Breakfast was very simple.
Large room with comfortable couch for sitting on. Heating on before we got there so room warm and welcoming. Lack of lighting outdoors and uneven surface on car park. Towels a bit small and only one glass available in bathroom.
The leisure facailities were very good, as was the location of the hotel as regards the station and access to the town centre. The creaky floorboards fom the room above!
Close to city centre - five minute walk. Staff where attentive and polite Bedroom felt it was still in the '80's, so modernisation of wardrobes and shower would improve the rating
ideal hotel close to train station, excellent breakfast rooms were too hot
it was right next to the bus station so easy to put in bags before going shopping. Breakfast was very nice. There was a continuous knocking sound during the night which kept me awake. I had a very uncomfortalbe night'd sleep
Peace and quietness, and generql atmosphere. The shower was to forceful and water was splashed outside the bath. There was a leak at the toilet (reported to housemaid)
The staff were very helpful and polite. Two things - The bathrooms and carpets, I feel, should be cleaner. Breakfast served until only 8am is not good.
Proximity to railway station Creaking floorboards and bed in room
Dinner and breakfast good and extremely good value
1. Leisure facilities. 2. The professionalism of the duty manager and staff noise i.e. rooms picked up internal noise from other rooms, guests and events
Very well appointed and clean, no noise whatsoever from outside despite being near main road. Good food and friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately it was very cold outside, and the radiator in my room was struggling to keep the room temperature comfortable
Friendly staff. clean room, comfy bed, geat breakfast
We felt that the renovation of the Hotel was well done, the Staff were all very pleasant. The room and bathroom were comfortable, clean and well laid out. Our only wish would have been to have a king size bed instead of a double. The room could easily have accommodated the extra size. I had requested a gluten free breakfast, but this was not available.
Warm welcome , lovely furnishings in keeping with the Edwardian Townhouse style , comfortable relaxing bedrooms ,( we had both bedrooms on top floor, one facing the park )tasty and nicely cooked breakfast. , nothing too much trouble for guests. . Wish we could have stayed longer .
wev requested an upgrade and were very happy with the room we were given. we weren't happy with the first room we were given as it was very small
downstairs was lovely but untill the bedrooms are improved we would not use this hotel
Near city centre, clean and comfortable one room was extremely hot - window only opened on to courtyard and no air came in.
Very Friendly Staff, and excellent meal, wifi access in reception area allowed me to do a lot of work in evening in a comfortable relaxing environment
The best thing about the hotel was the Bistro attached to it - the food was amoungst the best I have every eaten anywhere in the world. Room was small and cramped and the bathroom was old a rickerty.
the relaxing bistro and meal
Nice room and an excellent breakfast, great atmosphere in hotel bar, staff are so friendly. No lift
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast and good location for shopping
The staff were very friendly & helpful. Good breakfasts, clean comfortable rooms. Would stay again but only if 1st floor rooms available or a lift installed!! The stairs to the rooms were unbeleivably steep & winding, all guests & even staff commented on this!! Even the fitter among us had to stop for breathers. It should be made clear that this hotel is not suitable for elderly people - my mum was with us and the stairs were so bad, she had to use her angina sprays at each floor. Also, the ground floor public areas were nicely refurbished but the stairwells were a bit shabby & dated. The website was a bit misleading, stating free car parking on site - there were only actually 5 very small spaces!!
Friendly welcome. Service good. Noisy function room
The friendliness of the staff Felt that the room was very small, had no wardrobe facility and was not worth the price paid
100% in all departments, very nice place and staff. We will be back.
The bed was very comfy, the duvet was so soft, warm and fluffy. We had a good night's rest here. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. I didn't like the bathroom. The shower did not have very good water pressure. The bathroom looked old-fashioned and in need of refurbishment, expecially the floor of our bathroom, which was uneven with a vinyl sheet over it.
Everyone was very friendly&couldnt do anymore for us!Food was excellent& the room was very nice!! Not a thing!
The staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly. The room was large, well-appointed and comfortable. Car parking
Ideally located in Perth, only a short walk from the city centre. Very comfortable room with super king size bed.
Ideal location for the Ice Rink for the bowls tournament, and food was lovely as was the room. no
owners and staff were delightful, professional, and kind. the bedrooms were very attractive and comfortable - the beds were particularly comfortable. the staff were attentive without being intrusive. i would love to stay there again and would recommend it to anyone nothing. it is really a first class hotel.
lovely staff, great breakfast! could of done with a bath in room
