Great location and terrific style in public rooms. Howerever my room - whilst comfortable - tiny tv though - was a bit like a travel lodge in layout and feel. Appreciated the table lamp which was definitely not travel lodge. Would go back but was looking forward to something a bit special and was disappointed.
As an aviation enthusiast and appreciator of period architecture this was a superb experience. As a hotel stay, there are no negatives but you have to be mindful that this an active aerodrome site and therefore fairly remote. The surrounding area is pretty bleak, although this view may be influenced by the snowy weather during our stay. The nearest sizeable shopping location is Milton Keynes which is a 30 minutes or so drive.
the service was great and the breakfast excellent the newly refurbished room we stayed in could have been finished off a little better but it was more than adequate
All the staff have a great sense of humour .. It was located in the centre of Kettering which is what we wanted I felt that the rooms would benifit if the management stayed a night in them to find out what needed doing. l understand that it has only just been taken over so this may happen.
excellent breakfast very basic accomodation, no shower, basic in room tv, with dubious wiring and insecure wall mount
Unable to control temperature in room
it was quiet and comfortable the was no pressure for the shower for a sufficent shower
Very quiet room. Bed comfortable. Excellent breakfast Some aspects of the refurbishment meant that parts of the room/bathroom were unfinished. However these are minor points and did not spoil our stay.
The staff were helpful. The breakfast is excellent The main bar was closed. The hotel is very shabby
Enjoyed my stay and the staff are all well trained and looked after the guests to a high standard thankyou all very much
Poor room, no kettle, no hot water during entire stay, situated opposite banging door for entire stay. Apparrently has een recently refurbished, unfortunately, service and facilities has got worse.
relaxed atmosphere and a very good breakfast the rooms could do with an upgrade to the decor otherwise no complaint
Room itself clean There was a smell in the room, which appeared to come from the water - you had to run the water for a period of time before using it. The hotel was basic, and after arriving late and hoping to get a meal, they had run out of food. There was a lot of noise from other guests in the early hours of the morning.
Hotel very clean and tidy, reception staff polite and friendly No internet connection from my room, very frustrating as I'd had the same problem the night before in a different hotel. Not a lover of the continental breakfast.
Clean and tidy Decor and bedding dated
Close to main road / route.
Reason for booking hotel was it's convenience visiting relatives in Rushden. no, it serve it's purpose.
Clean, comfortable accommodation. Would be nice if had proper restaurant for evening meal.
Clean and tidy, good selection of services, excellent and friendly staff. None
Room cleanliness and service
central location, facilities in the hotel, room size and comfort, special discount rates
Room was cold - no heating and window open. Wet shower meant that the bathroom was unusable after showering. Very small room. No space in dining room, had to eat in annex. Room access key expired before departure time.
Very nice large room, good food in restaurant. Excellent location for town of Stamford. Radiator wasn't working properly - and it was bitterly cold. They did provide an electric fire. Bathroom very small, not much room to move around.
Our room was absolutely beautiful and extremely spacious. It was great value for money and very handy for Stamford centre. Our room was located in the Cottage, across the courtyard from the main building, the whole property is lovely and feels very secluded, and romantic. There was a wonderful breakfast provided in the morning and check out was a bit later than usual. We would definitely stay here again. The only downside of our lovely room was that our enormous king size bed was in fact 2 single beds pushed together which left a huge ridge running right down the middle of our bed. This made it very uncomfortable! Also as we were checking out we found a notice written in very small text on the back of our key packet that we were entitled to a complimentary round of drinks in the hotel bar on our first night in the hotel. No one had mentioned this to us or pointed it out which was a bit annoying as we had had a few drinks in the bar.
Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms Car park was too small
The bed was very comfortable and the food at the hotel was very good.
Location, bar Smell of food in rooms in main part of hotel
The quality and attention to detail of the room furnishings and the general attitude and service provided.
Good location for centre of Stamford - friendly helpful staff especially restaurant booking by web-site did not reveal room allocated was on top floor of town house - not suitable for unfit over 70's. Room was moved to hotel (room 4) but situated opposite to premises to disco that played loud music until early hours on both nights of our stay
The staff were very good, food very good & super central location. It was warm in the room (below freezing outside). Very comfortable bed & bedding. We were in room 45, the Hayloft, it was seperate from the rest of the hotel (not a problem) but the low celings were. I have lumps on my head to prove it & I'm only 5ft 7ins. Our friends room in the mail building vas fine.
Convennient for where I wanted to go
location room very basic and comfort level does not compare to Travelodge or Premiertravelinn.
Friendliness/helpfulness of staff. smell!, leaking toilet.
On my arrival the receptionist was very friendly and very kindly allowed me to book in earlier than normal. the room was clean and fresh. Nothing bad I can think of.
Helpful staff and friendly attitude, simple but functional room and accessories. Luckily I had a print out of my reservation as the manageress had no record of us, which may be the reason that the room we were given was not fresh and the bed linen was stained and dirty.
Everything was satisfactory and the restaurant next door was excellent.
Even though the shell is still def a Travel Lodge and a bit tired in places if the theme of the rooms were just one style would look a little less confused.
Value for money. OK for business people on budget, as too close to highway. All services straight-forward, no hassle. Breakfast in restaurant next door not acceptable, expenive and bad.
Comfortable room at a reasonable price. Whilst the breakfast food could have been improved, more time should be given for guests to eat cereal before the cooked breakfast arrives.
A very comfortable, relaxing environment. Excellent food. Great service.
Good, pretty location. Lovely, comfy rooms. Had a good evening meal in the restaurant and enjoyed the pub. Breakfast was great too. All very cosy. The nearby church tolled each hour through the night, therefore I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is a light sleeper. But this really is the only criticism of what was otherwise a lovely stay in a pretty part of Lincs.
staff food friendliness
food at dinner and breakfast was excellent wet room rather impractical as floor completely wet after shower and took a long tome to drain away
Very impressed. Excellent room, very high standard. Nice bar, excellent food. Relaxed atmosphere.
A very friendly hotel. Lovely surroundings, great character and very clean If there was a downside it had to be the dresscode of the staff in the restaurant. The wearing of jeans by waiting staff was not befitting to the environment but more than made up for by the friendliness of the staff and would not put me off going there again.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere...... especially after busy day working... made us unwind quickly.
Helpful staff - a good meal and pleasant location. Bar area very comfortable and inviting. Good food at a very reasonable price. Lovely setting and enjoyed breakfast in the conservatory. Two out of three lights in bathroom not working.(one ceiling and one above basin) Advertised free internet - no connection,(checked with staff, who then had to phone someone to find out, only to be told that it needed something or other that we already had) and it still didn't work, which was then confirmed by another diner, whom I had overheard, who was also irritated. It had been a major reason for choosing this location. Unable to remove the plug from the bath! The internet booking reservation that had been made was not in the diary. Because of location, curtains had to be drawn all the time to keep any sort of privacy. Nless curtains were drawn (in daylight) completely exposed to the world!
The comfort & conveniece of the room, the good food & the friendliness & helpfulness of the staff.
Pleasant location Menu and food were very good A lot of the staff were not friendly or welcoming There were three errors on my restaurant bill There was a shower screen which was not fit for purpose which culminated in the bathroom floor and everything else getting a soaking.
Clean modern facilities in good order The heating struggled to cope on what was admittedly the coldest night of the year, particularly the unheated en-suite and corridors.
A fantastic hotel in a very quiet location. Could not find any faults
Early check in was really good.
A warm, clean room. Excelent breakfast. Polite staff/owners. Internet had failed on the night I stayed. Mobile phone coverage is bad. (Neither of these were the fault of the hotel)
My friend and i enjoyed our stay at the hotel - it was clean and warm and the barn conversion added an extra special element to our stay. It definately served our purpose and we will be staying here again later in December 2010. The home cooked breakfast in the morning was great too and set us both up for the day. Thank you!
Excellent value, very nice room and good breakfast. None
The rooms (we booked 2) were lovely. The staff were very friendly with good advice about the local area and the breakfast was great and plentiful. The area was lovely and it was so peaceful and quiet you didn't feel like others were staying. The pub nearby was nice as well.
The rooms were so lovely. Also on arrival we were made so welcome and informed of all facilities.
clean, comfotable, good location and good breakfast and value for money.
Nice touches such as decanter of sherry and fruit as well as the coffee/tea making facilities. Shower pressure was rather variable.
We had a great time were well looked after and plan to visit again n/a
The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile. The food was very good indeed. Our room was just above the kitchen and consequently a bit too warm during the night.
Staff very efficient and the Hotel rooms very clean and all i'd expect for a standard room. Restaurant food was exeptional and anyone staying needs to book a table for dinner and not miss out on a great menu cooked with love and attention to detail.
Excellent access to the town centre. Comfortable. The restaurant looked very good but I had booked the hotel for the room only. A small but irritating issue is I think all hotels should have free wifi it costs next to nothing to provide. Get with it Lake Isle!
The location of the hotel and the breakfast was lovely! Parking instructions weren't that clear when we phoned and the bed wasn't very comfortable.
The food was excellent, the hotel was quiet and mostly comfortable. The staff were helpful and for the most part charming. Lots of hot water and a good shower. One of the beds (rm10) was seriously uncomfortable. None of the sash windows in our room (6) worked and had to be jammed up with something. There were no decent draws in which to put stuff in room 6 - which was fine for 2 nights but would have been a bore for longer, it was clean but I think was probably last decorated a long time ago.
Off the beaten track and quiet. Staff very friendly and food good. Room on the small side and parking can be difficult
good comfy big room and warm welcome
Everything was in good taste and well presented.
Excellent value for money
The rrom was spotless and well furnished, the food and breakfast were excellent and I highly recommend the Full English!
Food and service were excellent None
Friendly and good service by young staff Both rooms, although very nice and clean were very small with the door opening onto the car park area(not private). The kitchen extract fan / smells were discharging onto the front of the annex accomodation. No presence of owner / manager to meet/ greet.
Well apointed modern room. Lovely food. Friendly & helpful staff The room was a bit small
Very friendly staff, kitchen was closed when I arrived but the waitress managed to concoct a very nice ham sandwich.
The staff, service and breakfast were fantastic! We could hear the next room's shower from our room but this wouldn't put me off staying again.
A real gem. Clean, comfortable, contempory, quiet rooms. Excellent food in a lovely pub. Easy to find, plenty of parking. None.
Nice atmosphere good staff and ideal for Market Harbour A litre expensive £65 plus £9 for breakfast is hotel prices
One of the best value hotels I have stayed in, a lovely place There were none
Very pleasant staff, good food, clean, well appointed room. If anything the bed was a little 'hard' for our taste.
Very quiet and peaceful setting. I liked the fact the room was not above the pub/bar, but in separate little cottages at the rear of the pub. Excellent food. Room very spacious and lovely large bathroom with whirlpool bath - very relaxing! no mobile phone signal!!
Welcome and ambiance, excellent and very comfortable room.
we stayed in 'bede' lovely upstairs bathroom with spa bat scrambled eggs at breakfast
The Old White Hart is an excelent bed and breakfast with friendly, helpfull staff and lovely rooms. I shall recommend it to friends and family and shall stay there again.
Almost everything no
Wonderful Food, pretty Inn in lovely village
quality of the food and friendliness of the staff A little dark and dusty, rustic!!!!
The staff was very accommodating. Also the food was excellent.
We liked the rural village and the hotel ambience . The meals were prepared promptly to a good standard None
Excellent location, beautiful fittings, friendly staff, lovely village location, excellent restaurant.
Nice bar, good food, friendly staff. The room was a little on the small side.
All good !! Room, Food, Staff, Location etc None
Beautiful location, good food and pleasant staff.
Staff were friendly and eager to please. Room was clean and comfortabel with everything provided. Food was excellent and value for money. Both the lovely breakfasts with lots of choices and the evening menu beautifully cooked and presented. Only down side was the evening menu on Sunday was just "Light Bites" and was very limited for choice. We were unaware of this when we booked our table, though the Chef did provide us with a starter and main course at his usual standard.
Friendly atmosphere, great setting and excellent bar and restaurant.
Friendliness of staff. Efficient(had sent my electric toothbrush on its way to me before I asked). Good attention to detail Would have liked to have read the guardian at breaffast
A friendly welcome, excellent food and a good range of ales. Quiet and rural but within easy reach of Market Harborough for shopping and Rutland Water for leisure activities On arrival we were told that we could make dinner reservations for the restaurant. When we tried to do this we were told in fact it was not possible for the Saturday evening due to a wedding reception.
Beautiful rooms and building
The staff were friendly & helpful - the rooms comfortable without being "outstanding"! The food was good without being gourmet. -
Location easy to find good parking, breakfast was a buffet overall good value
Proximity to the Rockingham racetrack. That is the reason why I go there. Parking facility is large for my van and motorbike and staff is very helpful Room next to me was occupied by a very noisy couple of people.
the pool etc and rooms.
The location was ideal as we had to be near the International Swimming Pool. Plenty of parking but did not get time to use spa facilities/restaurant. The room could be bought up to date e.g modern TV, furniture fittings etc. - though this did not spoil our overnight stay
Hotel and staff very friendly and helpful, room excellent Restaurant very poor, Fawlty Towers' comes to mind, lets down the rest of teh hotel.
The overall experience was very good No
expensive bar and snacks
We came up for a conference at Kettering over a weekend period and the hotel was very quiet. This was excellent for us - the staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are a little tired but comfortable, but I believe they are about to be refurbed. The gym facilities appeared very good but the access used by normal everyday members was the normal fire doors to a corridor in the hotel - which were left wide open, which I am sure in summer time it would be fine - but in the middle of winter was freezing and put us off using the facility due to the sheer coldness - maybe an entrance lobby could be made for this area - would maybe be a little more enviting.
Ease of access, nice interior, calm & peaceful shower in rm 240 was not very good
Excellent service good facilities friendly /helpful staff Booked on line so was not entitled to a refund when a colleague cancelled - I found this very disappointing as I had booked 3 Double rooms, and then overheard the receptionist tell another customer there were no Double rooms left? Very disappointed if my 3rd room had been reassigned then as a good will gesture Holiday Inn could have at least offered some vouchers to the value of the room - be fair. Also disappointed with the local taxi services £20 for a 7 mile 10 minute journey 1 way is unacceptable - sort out your local cabs
Staff friendly & professional, breakfasts excellent, ensuite magnificent No window outlook to the bedroom ( this room was attached to the main house), we assume the other rooms would have such outlooks. The room itself, whilst clean, was a little crowded and the decor somewhat out of date.
Friendliness of staff, excellent food both at dinner and breakfast
The guy on reception was very helpful, this place does exactly what it says on the tin. albeit when i saw 5 stars AA i should have read a little further.
The food and the service were excellent escpeciaaly the evening meal. No telephone in the room and the fact that you had to walok outside to get to the restaurant.
Excellent value for money at gbp 25,00 per night Would not consider paying full price of gbp 65,00 per night for the same room Room was small and cramped tv in the room did not work for 2 of the 4 nights that I stayed in the hotel - no compensation offered.
I only stayed one night for business.purposes but it was greta
excellent high standards throughout inc very good real ale on draught - look forward to the next visit could do to have the heating on in the room
Easy and relaxed place to stay in a pretty historical town Loved the walled garden with all the little sparrows. there really wasn't anything that I didn't like.
Good greeting - nice feel to the hotel - good breakfast Shower was very poor
Well located in town, good breakfast, nice garden. Shower head was falling off the wall, room decor was dated, lounge bar that was not open, was offened when one of our party asked for beans at breakfast.
large, bright room and very close to the centre
Beautiful old hotel in quiet town, and good value for money; made to feel very welcome Couldn't get the shower to work so had a bath instead
Centrally located for the town, walks and other villages nearby. Staff very friendly and helpful
Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room, very good breakfast (more than enough) and central location. I would be happy to stay here again.
Attractive hotel, good breakfast. Ceiling of room leaked on to our bed in middle of night from upstairs shower causing us a very disturbed night. On informing management in morning no apology was forthcoming and no discount was offered. We eventually negotiated a small discount.
Good breakfast, comfortable basic room, friendly atmosphere. Was value for money so no problems.
The location (in town centre) Too noisy (external from street) - no double glazing plus too cold couldn't get heatin g to work
The staff are good people- working hard and pleasant...it's just the 'set- up' of the place is wrong as a hotel. The layout of the place does not make for any 'quiet'..main rooms over the bar/disco etc.Our room was inadequate/nothing fitted in well...noisy window fittings and bed too soft etc etc.We left on am of 4 th day as dissatisfied greatly.also when there..no option for meal in evening.
Homely, friendly atmosphere with a great breakfast thrown in. Rather limited choice of television and a little noisy on Saturday night from band in bar
Comfort of room
The room was very nice & clean No heating in the room & was -5 outside
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good value for money and delicious. An early check in was made available and there was a very welcoming feeling about the hotel in general My only criticism would be that there was no where to hang the shower as such. There was also no shower curtain.
Relative convenience of location. Friendliness of staff Currently undergoing refurbishment to bedrooms. However, both rooms booked were clean and tidy. Noise from bar/outside area.
the hotel was stylish and the rooms were very reasonable. i would happily stay here again the bathroom could do with updating but served its purpose
Covenient location in centre of Rothwell Drafty window (what a waste of energy). No control valve on radiator. Light over sink not working. No proper vat receipt - just a compliment slip: only got a vat no. After asking and a delay
the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Uncomfortable bed - kept rolling into middle of bed
Rooms very comfortable and spacious. Very quiet, no noise heard from the rooms next door. Breakfast was ok....could maybe have done with a little bit more choice; maybe more fruit or pastries. What we had was good though.
Excellent hote, very new and staff very friendly. The rooms were more than adequate although the hotel was tricky to get too off the roundabout.
We couldnt find any fault at all with either the hotel or the staff who were exellent which is why we booked your hotel at kettering Cannot find any bad points
Everything was excellent from start to finish ! When I arrived there was no record of my booking (booked online). I had printed out my confirmation - quickly dealt with, staff apologetic, a room quickly found for me. Luckily they were not fully booked!
i didnt like the fact that i left my i phone charger in the room to discover house keeping staff have taken it!!!very annoyed
The room was very nice and ready to sleep straight away. There should be a microwave available for heating up of baby food etc..!!
Check in was excellent... Active hotels hadn't sent booking through when we rang active hotels the person dealing with was useless. The receptionist at Holiday Inn was great she really put things right. Breakfast has improved now at holiday inn express with scambled egg and bacon the problem on three days the egg was gone the girl was very very slow to react and needed telling so there was a delay because she had to go and cook it!!! 4 times they ran out of spoons!! One of the drink despensers for the orange juice was giving out very weak water all week! And probably still is! An otherwise brilliant hotel spoiled by lack of attention to detail
The Staff were efficient and friendly The toaster was faulty at breakfast but other than that I could not fault the service.
I would like to say thanks to the lady who was on reception on the night of 6/07/07 for being so understanding with my prediciment.
There was a football match on at the football ground nearby and there were no parking places at the hotel car park, I had to sit in waiting traffic for 20 minutes before I could park up.
Room of a very good standard. Breakfast buffet good value, resturant meal in the evening just ok.
The room was larger than expected and of a high standard. The staff were very helpful and never had anything other than a smile for guests. Food was of great quality too.
Nice, clean room, friendly, helpfull staff.
The staff were very friendly and helpful - particularly Amanda on Reception and Laura in the Restaurant. Unfortunately, I was visiting a seriously ill brother in Corby. I pre-booked my rooms but had to change them and was not allowed a refund. I realise this was explained on the booking form, but I lost 2 nights B&B. Perhaps a part refund could have been offered. However, I would stay again because of the staff.
We had a good airy room on the ground floor, near to facilities. The check in was quick and easy, staff very friendly (important to us). Breakfast was reasonably priced and good value. We really enjoyed our stay and intend to visit again as the hotel is convenient for visiting family in Kettering.
Disappointed with restaurant and menu Road noise and very noisy floorboards!!!!
pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff n/a
Good selection of food and drink, along with Sky Sports in bar area Nothing
