1
9.8 Excellent (114 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Set in Beverino, a hamlet part of the Montemarcello-Magra Regional Park, Al Castello Da Annamaria offers individually furnished apartments facing the Vara Valley and the garden. This beautifully renovated 12th-century building includes a patio. Each of the colour-themed apartment features modern light furniture and a colourful bathroom with bathrobes. They consist of a seating area with leather sofas and a large kitchen equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. A public bus stopping right outside provides links to La Spezia, set 18 km away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property was lovely and the extra touches and thoughfulness of Anna Maria was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The stay in Annamaria’s tower was incredibly peaceful. The property was clean and well equipped. The views across the valley were amazing. Also Annamaria’s very own red wine was fantastic! We would definitely recommend this to anyone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thank a lot the lady-owner. She is really friendly and polite. Provide us everything what we need. Apartment is really good. Highly recommend you this place, if you are in search something special home made)))
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful and clean. Annamaria goes out of her way to make you feel at home and provides lots of goodies. Her baked goods as well as the fruits and veggies from her farm are amazing. She even has her own wine! The location was great to visit multiple lovely beaches with the kids. Annamaria was kind enough to provide lots of information about the area. We spent 5 wonderful nights here and it was by far our favorite place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have travelled throughout Europe and have stayed in beautiful places, but Annamaria's Castello was way beyond breathtaking! The apartment was excellent, very tastefully decorated, the views and the place were awesome. And the best of all was Annamaria's hospitality and kindness! When we arrived homemade cookies, cakes, fresh bread, all made by Annamaria, as well as fresh eggs, fruits, and a refrigerator full of gooies were waiting for us! We will definitely visit again! Thank you very much Annamaria for this unforgettable stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful Annamaria apartments for a quiet stay away from crowds of tourists. Clean, comfortable and calm. The apartments are located on the top of the hill, there is a bus (but I don’t know the schedule), but it’s better to have a car. The apartment has a great view. The building is located in the old part of the village, only a few houses. There is osteria, it works in the evening by reservation. Separately, I want to note the hospitality of Annimaria: on arrival we saw a laid table with all sorts of goodies (cakes, bread, strawberries), which was very useful since we were out of the way, and there was a refrigerator with yogurts, milk, and butter for breakfast. Annamaria also provided a lot of information on visiting nearby places. If I’ll be in these places again, I’ll definitely stay here)))
Cons: Everything was amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment is very clean, with a big terrace and a beautiful view. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook and we were provided with delicious bread and pastries. Annamaria was an in incredibly nice and welcoming host, thank you.
Cons: There was no wifi available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous present of food and wine on arrival. Wonderful view over the valley
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful views overlooking Beverino. Annamarie was very attentive and helpful. And the restaurant on the property, "Ustaia Der Casteu" was some of the best food we have ever tasted!! Pierro and his wife, who own the restaurant, will make you feel like royalty! We went back 2 more times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This truly a hidden gem. If you're travelling around Liguria by car, you should definitely book a few days at this place! Situated in a little medieval village on top of a mountain it gives you a fantastic view over the Vara valley. The apartements are modern and cosy and if you're lucky to get appartement "Erica", like we did, you also have a huge patio to your own. But there's also one for all guests to sit outside. The village itself is charming, with a nice old church and a very good restaurant. La Spezia and Cinque Terre are only 15-25 mins. drive. But probably the biggest bonus of staying at this place is your host Anna Maria. You will be greeted with selfmade cakes, biscuits, fruits and wine. We also had local yoghurt, cheese and milk in our fridge. Anna Maria is ever so helpful and nice – she will give you loads of advice of where to go, what to see and how to get there. You can always contact her if you need help or have questions. She really made us feel at home. Great holidays, highly recommended!

9.7 Excellent (69 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We came here by chance and ended up staying longer because we loved it so much! This is a hidden gem in the mountains, especially if you enjoy nature and quiet - you can easily go to cinque terre and sestri levante for day trips. The B&B is perfect, wonderful clean rooms with a romantic view, everything there in terms of facilities and delicious breakfast. And on top you get the best ever host: Gigi! One of a kind, made us feel at home and helped us with tipps many times. Gigi, you’re the best! We will definitely be back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simply an amazing experience. You get literally a 5 STAR breakfast in the morning with a personal chef de service who helps you with everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quite village. Clean. Good breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent Gigi hosted us in his lovely B&B. The B&B consists of 3 separated rooms (including bathrooms) and a shared lounge/kitchen. During our visit we were the only ones, so the whole floor was for us. Gigi personally made us the most extensive breakfast for 2 people ever, including freshly made cappuccino and some home-baked items. In the meantime he was telling funny or interesting stories and giving advice what to see or do during our visit. Good location to visit the Cinque Terre.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful host! Great bed!
7.5 Good
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly host who was lovely to talk to. Greeted on arrival with hot drinks and fresh cake. Morning breakfast had many delights particularly cheeses, great coffee and sweet cakes/pastries. Location in beautiful forest country.
Cons: Bedroom was described as double bed plus single bed. The single bed was a fold up thing. Payment for room was taken over 30 days in advance of arrival... effectively meaning this felt like a prepay accommodation. No cat to be seen on site probably because owner doesn't live in accommodation building.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing place :) small and quiet village located in the forest with lots of personality. The B&B was an old village school build in the 17th century and the few stone houses really made this place unique. The nights are lovely, its very quiet, (best sleep ever) the sky and the stars are just beautiful, lots of fireflies that make the area look like something out of a fairytale. With a short drive you are in 5 Terre. !!! What we loved most was our host Gigi who was so sweet and prepared an amazing breakfast for us each morning. He also made the best recommendations for places to see and visit. !!! We will definitely come back again :) Thank you Gigi for all your help and hospitality !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: GRANDE GIGI! The most caring, the nicest guy you will ever meet , funny , sweet, not enough words to describe his hospitality. Our kids loved the magic tricks and his hot chocolate . The house it's beautiful, in an old school, very clean, Gigi does an impressive work to keep it clean. Breakfast it's a must see ! The service it's a 5 star ( he was a bartender on a 5 stars cruise ship so imagine ') The village and area beautiful , especially the river 3 minutes by the house . That's everything what I will say about our wonderful experience because its something that everyone needs to see and experience themselves.
Cons: We liked absolutely everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, nature was perfect. The room and bathroom spotless. Free WiFi. There is a small lake and river 200m from apartment where you can refresh. Bicycles were on disposal for free. Breakfast at B&B was more than excellent (bread, ham, cheese, cakes, brioches, juice, coffee).. The owner of B&B, Gigi is a great man, always smiling, on service with all the advices we needed.
Cons: I can't find one thing that I would mention.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed Gigi’s wonderful hospitality. Breakfast was delicious, room was perfect, a great B & B stay!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful friendly welcome Beautiful views Nothing was a problem Car recommendation was essential Used what’s app to communicate xx
6.3 Good
Pros: There was really nice view from the balcony. The room was quite clean.
Cons: I didn't experience any outstanding or exceptional service as was mentioned in the comments. Just standard. We arrived at the afternoon but nothing was offered to us to eat and noone warned that there is no shop/restaurant nearby. Breakfast is Italian but not in the buffet form, but each person received some set, mainly sweets. On the first day the bread was stale, but maybe this is because Sunday was before. Room was quite clean but matress smellt strange which caused some problems with sleeping at night. We received the guidance how to get to the place but want to warn that there are 2 turns which are sharp and steep so need to be careful when driving there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was in a beautiful setting up in the hills of Beverino. Antonella is a super host and excellent cook, if you want to try Italian home cooked food then don’t miss the evening meal, and make sure your hungry.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Antonella took such great care of us! We felt very welcome. The bed was really comfortable, and the room was cozy! The view from the terrace outside our room was breathtaking, and the restaurant Antonella sent us to took equally good care of us, and the food was delicious and well priced. I wished we could stay longer.
Cons: There is nothing I would change
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quite place, nice host, very good food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The stay will be unforgettable. The food was typical of the country and Antonella has served an excellent Italian (Liguria) dinner. Everything in one just super.
Cons: No remarks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice beds, good fresh homemade breakfast, well kept quiet location in the countryside. Antonella and her son are great hosts! She also cooks for her guests (nice diner at a fair price) Breakfast is typical sweet Italian breakfast (including fresh fruit from her own garden). Maybe some hearty food (meat or tomatoes) at breakfast would be nice as well. (Roelin)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location, super hospitality, great regional diners
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The host Antonella was a special person and takes good care of her guests. The location is surprisingly good to visit Cinque Terre and surrounding area is a delight for nature lovers.
Cons: The family room was a bit tight with all 3 beds stuffed in the same room and no extra space left to move around. Indicated square meter of this room clearly includes the big terrace which was otherwise good with spectacular view of the surrounding area.

Pros: It is a family own hotel. The personell is very very friendly and the hotel for us was very convinient. Pros: Had a wonderful stay at this lovely B&B. Marco is a fantastic host, very smiling and helpful. Room was clean and very autenthic, as was rest of the place. Its located in short walking distance to the historic center of Brugnato, a small and very cosy town - the essence of Italy. Will definetely recommend this place.

Pros: Everything. We came to visit cinque terre area. It was just 20 minutes drive. After touristic crowded streets, we loved our escape to quiet, cozy place to stay, where is cooking pool and smiling host. Explore super tasty picas and pastas places nearby where nobody speaks English and food is made for locals. Breakfast was superb, tasty cappuccino!
Cons: All was good!

The pool was a nice bonus after a day out. Breakfast was very good, fresh fruit, good foccacia, homebaked tart... Good location on the edge of the little village with various restaurants.

Pros: We loved our one night stay here. Our room was clean and spacious. The facilities were good and had everything we needed. It is in such an idyllic setting. It was just a short walk to the beautiful historic centre which had numerous highly rated restaurants. The pizzeria we ate at was really nice and good value for money. We found the staff at the hotel very welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately we do not speak Italian, but Marco speaks very good English and this made everything extremely easy for us. The other guests were very friendly. It has a very warm and charming feel to the place. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay
