Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I do not possess the ability to start to describe this wonderful b&b. It transcended our expectations in terms of the owner, the historic essence of the property and the location. In short, we loved Anna. We loved the property We loved its location. There was nothing we could fault. Well worth the whole experience. Anyone visiting the Cotswolds would find this b&b hard to beat. Should we visit RIAT next year we will stay, room permitting, in this b&b.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband & I just spent a few days at Pytts House and we are still under the spell of this gorgeous place. There are so many attractive features; the interior of the house, where every nook & cranny has been decorated with such attention to detail; the garden, as romantic an English garden as you could ever find ! Anna (the owner of Pytts House) doesn’t spare any effort, be it in the comfort of her guests in the bedrooms or the presentation of the scrumptious breakfasts. If one had to sum up the whole place (and it’s owner) in one word, it would be charm ! Tremendous charm, beautiful in and out. We can’t wait to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anna, the host was amazing from start to finish. She was very accommodating with our check in request and offered to help us out if we had problems with transportation. She offered flexibility on timings for checkout and breakfast all in a welcoming and friendly manner. The place itself, an old stone house is set amongst an idyllic Cotswold village and it’s beautiful garden was a place to hang out

The house is tastefully decorated and offers three rooms full of charm and personality. Our trip to the Cotswold has become an unforgettable experience!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The pictures don't do the house justice, it is beautifully decorated without being overwhelming and Martin and Paul manage to really make you feel at home. Breakfast is delicious and the house is full of treats: hot chocolate, biscuits, coffee, pain au chocolat and an impressive selection of spirits. Good selection of pubs for a meal out. Garden is amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and we wanted to stay somewhere special. The Summerhouse seemed the ideal solution and we were not disappointed. We stayed a week and felt we were staying in Blenheim Palace itself. The house and grounds are magnificent. The house is tastefully decorated with antiques and the gardens were beautifully landscaped with the pool with the water Lillys were a focal attraction. Our room upstairs was large and airy. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the en-suite was modern in appearance with a shower, sink and toilet. Breakfast again was a delight. We sat by the window overlooking the garden watching the ducks and other various birds taking their daily bath in the pool. On the day of our anniversary Martin and Paul surprised us. They have a 1968 Morris Minor Traveller who they named “Agatha”. They told us to use it for the day and they also prepared a hamper that included sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, sparkling wine (that’s for my wife, I was doing all the driving). It was so impressive that in Bourton-on-the water where we had our picnic people were stopping and taking photographs of both the picnic and “Agatha”. It was a fabulous day and we are so grateful to Martin and Paul for making it so special.
Cons: Leaving.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. It was fantastic & Martin was a very gracious host. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved every minute of our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Following a very warm welcome from Martin, the Summerhouse unravelled a wonderful combination of home comforts and amazing surroundings. The setting for this property is truly breathtaking and it feels as if you are staying in a wonderfully interesting house surrounded by gardens you would go to visit. Breakfast was a treat, seated at a panoramic window overlooking the gardens and decorative pond with a superbly presented breakfast cooked to order. Martin's attention to detail, not only in the rooms but personal service was a real treat, truly wonderful.

There is a good choice of pubs, coffee/tea shops in the area. The Church near Burford School is worth a visit.
Cons: Just a personnel observation, the shower could be more powerful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: very nice breakfast cooked to your liking pleasant staff beautifully gardens. cosy bed room
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and style
Cons: Noisy - we were woken at 6 by other guests taking part in a cycling event. Staff were either very good or very bad depending on which one was serving. Dinner was average. The whole place needs better management
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. peaceful surroundings. Absolutely beautiful hotel.
Cons: Food was nice but not excellent.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location and breakfast was good.
Cons: The evening meal was not up to standard. Service was poor, champagne not cold, main courses brought after long wait and before starters, food was not very good . We did tell the hotel and they said they would tell management but then we got standard e mail with satisfaction questionnaire so it was obvious nothing had been reported to management. We have been before and really enjoyed it but now it looks like it is existing on past reputation. Also the shower didn’t work properly and generally not up to previous standards.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Nice room (we had a 'Good' room'), quite compact but clean, comfortable and quiet. Lovely characterful building. Garden really nice place to relax on a sunny day. Breakfast good, but nothing special.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, right in the middle of picturesque and historic Burford. Great combination of traditional coaching inn and contemporary comfort. Food (dinner with friends and then breakfast) was fantastic and best of all the staff and management could not have done more or been more helpful. Great value!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location right on the high street. Staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was delicious, and the bar downstairs has a really nice atmosphere.
Cons: Rooms are quite small, which is to be expected in a building of this age.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very welcoming, friendly staff. Got a nice feeling about the place, despite this being just a brief stay (we were attending a wedding reception close by). Superb breakfast, and I appreciated the fact that the chef had noticed my missing sausage (I hadn't!), and had it brought out to me with her apologies :) Smallish room (which we were aware of when booking), but very comfortable and beautifully furnished / equipped. I will recommend to others - many thanks.
Cons: Very compact bathroom (though still OK to use).

Pros: Breakfast was good, although we couldn't have breakfast the first morning as we had to be away early but they made us some sandwiches s owe could take them with us. Nice touch.
Cons: We weren't there that long so couldn't really sample all of the Highway Inn which was a shame, maybe next year!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was far bigger than the pictures make it look. V cosy and warm.
Cons: The road outside was soooooo noisy and we were woken up at 6 with buses and lorries trundling through. A room at the back of the building would have been preferable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly staff. Free parking. Great food and service. Would definitely recommend it to others.
Cons: As usual there was limited tea coffee and milk. But we asked for more milk and got it straight away.
7.5 Good

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfy
Cons: Pillows a bit hard but that's only our opinion
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good, great choice.
Cons: Because the weather was so warm it would have been perfect if bedrooms had air conditioning. Was looking forward to the lamb cutlets that we enjoyed on all our previous visits however they were not on the menu this time around. The specials didn't change much each night but can't complain food was still very good.
6.3 Good
Pros: location / staff
Cons: Noise from dining area / bar. bedroom above had thin floors. Decor dated
4.3 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was fine, the bar was quite nice. Bar staff were good & friendly. Evening meal was ok.
Cons: The room was incredibly noisy - you could pick out individual voices from the bar below our room. The room was a bit grubby - the staircarpets need a clean & windows really dirty. Overflow flotsam from the pub is outside the room - not welcoming is it ? The owner couldn't really be bothered as they had had a very busy Fathers Day. Not good enough to make me return at all - there's too many other decent pubs with rooms in the Cotswolds.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little inn run by fantastic people and in a great location
Cons: Bed was a little hard
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service!!! Staff super helpful and couldn't do enough. Lovely quiet room with a comfy bed. Fantastic food!

Swan Inn - Burford - Building
7
8.9 Excellent (323 reviews)
Overview Reviews
This charming hotel can be found in Burford. Travellers will enjoy a peaceful and calm stay on the premises, as it counts with a total of 11bedrooms. This accommodation does not accept pets.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quaint Inn with peaceful outlook, very comfortable bed & staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: Not enough shelving in bathroom for toilet bags. A luggage rack would also be helpful
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Comfy bed and bed linen. Wonderfully peaceful at night.
Cons: Whilst the food was very good the menu wasn’t varied enough for 3 consecutive nights.
6.8 Good
Pros: Clean room . Large bed.
Cons: Did not get the room we booked for which was "River view" Rude staff . Flies in breakfast room ( many) AND in shared yoghurt bowl at breakfast time.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This Hotel is charming, such a lovely room and the location is perfect, so quiet. The room I stayed in had every comfort you would expect. spacious and comfortable, although they could do with an arm chair to relax in and enjoy the views.
Cons: The staff are very attentive, but as I had dinner with a friend, during our meal we were asked if there would be two for breakfast, which seemed odd, the meal was quite expensive and was all put on my room bill, assuming that my friend would now be staying the night, which he wasn't it was quiet embarrassing when he had to remove it from my bill and divide it between us. I had the Lamb, which was very fatty, I mentioned this and was told all lamb is fatty!
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location; welcoming staff; delicious food
Cons: The noise from the pipes in the bedroom. Every time someone in another room ran a tap or flushed the toilet we heard the pipes running (and not quietly! - very glad no-one had a late night/early morning shower!!) Also, communication in the rooms could be better/more accurate. No mention of Wi-fi (which was free and with no log-in required, but not found for a while because no reference) and notes stated that OS maps were available to borrow from the bar - but this was not the case (although good pamphlet on local circular walks)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: Big spider in room!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and friendly place in the countryside, spacious room and very well equipped Very good table.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Initial impression was overtaken by the realization that the accommodation was not in the pub, but a separate building across the road. Compact, clean and if a high standard.. Food was excellent - with a good selection of wines and local cheeses.. Garden area very welcoming in the late evening.. In short we loved our stay and would highly recommend..
Cons: Nothing..
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rural setting by a stream and with Bantam chickens strolling through the garden - even had the Cockerel crowing and a chick trying to hop in through the open window in our room in the Stable Block. Our room was clean and spacious. Complimentary tea and coffee with a coffee-pod machine were provided but a hiccup - no milk or coffee pods but manager rectified this when mentioned. Fantastic Continental and Cooked choice at Breakfast (Eggs Benedict was lovely) and Evening Meal menu.
Cons: However, the shower was "over the bath" and a bit tricky for the less-mobile. A limited Vegetarian/Vegan choice. Not all Vegetarians eat fish, eggs etc. - some border on being Vegan, but not quite!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and quiet.
Cons: The water pressure in our shower was very weak.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay, the staff and facilities were excellent and the location superb. It was nice to be able to choose where you wanted to eat, eg in the restaurant, the bar, the sitting rooms, the garden or your own room. Breakfast was served beautifully by very professional staff. The room was tastefully decorated and the furnishings were in keeping with the style of the inn.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Parts of the Lamb date back to the early 15th century. Originally a row of weavers' cottages. Breakfast was very good with quality produce and a good choice on the menu. Service from all the staff was of a high standard. Aioibhinn ( pronounced Ayveen ) on reception was a ray of sunshine. The gardens with seating are excellent. Even in the gardens there is waiter service. Enjoy the sun and let the food and drink come to you.
Cons: Coming away so soon. Hotel does not have it's own car park so parking close to hotel at busy times can be hit and miss. Still worth visiting. Wherever you park it is a pleasant walk to the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located centrally excellent rooms and helpful staff, lovely garden and not forgetting the great restaurant
Cons: Couldn’t fault it,

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, quiet hotel in the old style with excellent food, log fires and unobtrusive service.
7.7 Good
Pros: charming location, very beautiful building, exellent service
7.0 Good
Pros: Relaxing atmosphere and style was a mix of a good hotel and an excellent inn.Staff at all levels friendly/professional/efficient/attentive and welcoming.Meals in bars/lounge were off a high standard. Room large and easily accessed for handicapped guests/
Cons: 4 Log fires great, but all needed to have their chimneys swept! Normal wood fire aroma spoilt by visible smoke that attached to clothes/hair. This was one of several weaknesses that indicated lack of maintenance/checks by local or Cotswold Inns and Hotel management. Gratuity added to restaurant bill without previous advice and bathroom had no bath only a shower -this was a superior room but it had the smallest bathroom that could be designed. Limited clothes hanging space(coat hooks behind doors would have helped)
7.7 Good
Pros: Relaxing

With a stay at The Priory Burford Bed and Breakfast in Burford, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Cotswold Wildlife Park and Tolsey Museum.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place in the middle of Burford with quiet rooms situated in the restaurants. Staff are really friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is lovely and filling. Garden is yours to enjoy when they close restaurant at 5pm Have seen other accommodation in the village, I'm happy we choose the Priory. Great value and location. Thanks very much for a lovely stay!
Cons: - Pillows - were quite flat and hard so didn't sleep well on the first night. I know this is a personal thing, but would have been nice to have a choice of 2. - No Full English option for vegetarians for breakfast - wouldn't take much to offer veggie sausages for the 'Full English', but I was given extra egg and a hashbrown to compensate, so all good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Enjoyed our stay, rooms were at the back of the tea room and overlooked a small garden which was secluded and pleasant. The staff were accommodating and found somewhere to store our bicycles in the dry. Breakfast was also excellent. Quiet and safe easy access.
Cons: Room was a bit on the small side.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great place for families. At the back of a restaurant, but since the restaurant closes at 5 pm, there is no problem at all with noise. The room was great, bright and spacious, the shared bathroom was very clean. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The room could not be made very dark due to the light curtains, which makes making little kids fall asleep a little trickier. But hey, wouldn't we all favor a location where this is the main negative point :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were spacious and the little garden was so warm and inviting! Breakfast was outstanding! The location was right in the center of this precious village. I have already recommended it to a friend who is going to England next Spring!
Cons: My room did not have a private bathroom, however my daughter's room did.

Cons: The bedroom lighting. One bedside lamp did not function consistently.

Pros: the food is excellent but it takes such an age to get staff and they were not busy.they are excellent for welcoming dogs
Cons: dreadful waiting time for drinks etc..had to ask twice.had to ask twice for menus..had to ask twice for napkins..I asked if they were short staff..the waiter replied....no I am just feeling tired!!!! 2 people came for a drink and as no staff in bar they walked out.. we were given a 20% reduction on our meal for having to wait.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff on arrival who made me feel most welcome, they even gave a room upgrade free of charge.
Cons: Early morning noise (around 5:30 am onwards) which I can only assume came from a laundry area and proceeded to continue for a couple of hours.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The room, the quiet, the comfortable bed, the excellent breakfast (even though I only ate it once), the accommodating staff (thank you for my early morning latte on the patio).
Cons: Turning off the patio lights around 11 p.m. (midnight?)..... I couldn't have my late night read outside.... a small thing, but important for me. It would have been good to have a facecloth included with the room's linens.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A great location right in the centre of town. A really historic building so expect low ceilings and creaks but clean and comfortable. A lovely breakfast with loads of choice and an ideal spot for walking or exploring locally.

Cons: The room was very warm; however a fan was provided.
7.0 Good
Pros: Sky tv in the room.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s not every day that you can stay in a place built in 1478. Despite the age, the amenities are up to date. Food was excellent. And the staff outstanding. They added to the charm and enjoyment of the stay
10.0 Excellent

Had we arrived later we would possibly not have gained entry.

Cons: Room was a bit tired. Needs a makeover. Bar prices a bit steep. 2 codgers at the end of the bar effing and blindin even though families were seated nearby. Bar staff more intent in sorting out breakfast tables than serving.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very welcoming and excellent standard of food with a varied menu to suit all tastes.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and the food was great. Very good choice of music!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved staying in an Inn with so much charm. Our room was in the old stables, the inn was decorated tastefully from years gone by, well maintained. The staff were polite and worked well together as a team. There was a staff shortage the first night we stayed, however they kept apologising for the delay from the kitchen. John our host spoke to all the guests and made sure they were looked after. I actually overheard him thanking and praising his staff for handling the situation well. The food was fantastic (both in the restaurant and a lovely English breakfast),the selection of music was very good and played at the right level. The best breakfast we had for our 2 months of travel. The bed was very comfortable in a good size room. There was also an attractive garden area to eat and relax. We would stay here again if ever in the same area again.
Cons: If there was anything wrong, it was over shadowed by all the good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Beer and wine also very good.
Cons: Service at breakfast could have been better and the road was very noisy throughout the night. When booking we didn't realise the road was so close.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was great for our needs. We used it as a base for cycling. Very clean and lovely relaxed atmosphere, although a bit too relaxed in the restaurant. Food was excellent!
Cons: No extra toilet paper, so we ran out in the morning! Milk in the room wasn’t topped up, so we ran out despite being promised some would be brought up to us. Shower temperature wasn’t consistent.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location on A40, plenty of parking. Warm welcome and able to check in early. Wonderful evening meal with good service. Breakfast, good choice and all well cooked. Very good service. All the team were very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely recommend

Cons: Everything was shut up at 7 o’clock so had to go elsewhere for evening meal and drinks which was a shame as such a nice pub.

Pros: cleanliness Towels. Linen. Breakfast .
Cons: No warm welcome. Certainly not a smile Help with luggage non existence (stairs everywhere). Had to ask for help - then it was given. Not offered. Didn’t feel welcomed after a long journey. young staff probably not trained in hospitality Don’t blame the staff - they need training!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: An ideal location from which to explore the Cotswolds. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and everything was provided in accordance with the specifications. The bar and lounge were very pleasant, and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cooked food.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is good for Burford and parking is easy.
Cons: Incredibly expensive for what you get. Hairs all over bed and bathroom when we arrived. Everything very tired and in need of an update. Breakfast is unexciting as well for the price, better to save your money and enjoy one of the cafes in the high street. Bedroom looked out on roundabout which meant it was very noisy and we had a floodlight directed at our bedroom window so not a particularly restful evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff making us feel well taken care of.
Cons: On a busy street
4.3 Okay
Cons: Id booked 3 rooms, 2 twin rooms next to each other in the Annexe, 1 kingsize in the hotel. Hotel decided to change my booking without telling me so when we arrived, I was told 2 (1 twin and 1 king) were in the hotel, 1 (twin) in the annexe. Annexe entrance was very dirty, communal stairs very tired, twin room tiny and hot (was above the laundry room). Manager wasn't overly concerned even though I explained this meant my less abled sister was alone in the annexe and he wouldn't make any changes. 2 of the rooms very noisy at night as the hotel sits on a roundabout and 2 rooms didn't have secondary glazing. We'd booked dinner in the restaurant - the restaurant doesn't appear to open at night so this meant we sat in the hotel pub so don't dress up! Vegetarian main options very limited - salad, 1 pizza or shepherdless pie. Staff were very inflexible so we were over charged on our meals as kids meal deal contained ice cream, they wanted to add a brownie and we were charged full adult price in addition to full price on childs meal deal so hence we paid twice for pudding. Manager wouldn't alter the price.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. The staff were relaxed and friendly. Staff very obliging, providing alternate children's evening meal not on the kid's menu. Great to have a full length mirror in the room, and an iron and ironing board provided. Plenty of electric sockets too.
Cons: An extra pillow in the room would have been appreciated.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed for one night but it was great to get there and park at the hotel, book in dump our bags in the room and have a couple of drinks in the bar. We had a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit basket in our room, we chose to eat in the bar, we could have eaten in the restaurant, the food was gorgeous and the staff very friendly. it really is a beautiful old hotel a good breakfast in the morning. I probably would not have chosen the four poster room if another had been available, just because of the extra expense but on the other hand we do like a room within the hotel rather than in the courtyard of a hotel
Cons: nothing to fault
6.7 Good
Pros: Excellent food and very convenient location
Cons: The fire alarn at 2.45am with no guidance or advice from the staff as to the problem
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, high standards but a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Really good food, very nice bar with good beer and a log fire (it was November after all), rooms clean, comfortable and well appointed. Popular with the local community too, always a good sign.

Pros: Lovely pub in a rural setting. Food was delicious. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: Sausage was a little small with breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had to get up very early to travel so did not take advantage of Breakfast but based on evening meals I'm sure they would have been good
Cons: One morning we had no hot water but this was rectified on return by the evening time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the vegetarian cooked breakfast. The owner was very helpful in suggesting villages, towns etc to visit as we were only in the Cotswolds for one day. Very comfortable room. But best of all dog friendly! My little dog enjoyed his stay.
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were really helpful and cheery and the food we had for dinner really good pub grub.
Cons: The whole place was pretty tired and looked unfinished in places. The single beds in our room were really narrow although the kids room had bigger beds. Our room overlooked a roof which had the pub toilets below so we were constantly listening to the hand dryers being used whilst we tried to sleep - this went on until 1am!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location-excellent dinner and breakfast. Staff very friendly. Lovely country atmosphere and room had everything we required. Highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, beautiful peaceful garden, friendly front of house staff and proprietor made me feel very welcome and included as a solo traveller, excellent food, especially breakfast. Proprietor went the extra mile providing detailed recommendations of places to visit in the area.
Cons: Nothing.
6.8 Good
Pros: The food was excellent
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable 2 singles pushed together 1 mattress higher than the other every time you turned over you sank in the middle. Had a loud humming noise that sounded like the spin cycle of a washing machine coming from under my room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very nice renovated rooms.

7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were really friendly and good breakfast.
Cons: The hotel could do with a bit of TLC and the shower was really hard to get in/out off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely cosy hotel. Room was delightful. Spacious and clean. The staff were very accommodating. Great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host was excellent, as was breakfast and bed.
Cons: Road a little noisy
6.3 Good
Pros: Just out of central Burford but a 10 minute walk will take you into Burford central. Perfect location to visiting Burford. Walking distance from the lovely huge garden centre. The owner is very welcoming and attentive. Was able to provide valuable information on daily excursions.
Cons: The lodge is located on a busy main road, unlucky if you get a room overlooking the road as it's very noisy. The property could look stunning if time was spent making the entrance/carpark/front area more attractive - looks very shabby. The property is clean but again improvements can be made. The Oxford room over looks the main road, a small room, first glance it looks elegant but the mattress was very hard and the actual divan bed was old and worn in places - attention to detail. Tea/coffee facilities in room but you have to be a mind reader to know that the tea bags/coffee sachets are hidden in a dummy book which sits on the dressing table. Cooked breakfast is plentiful but you are asked to make your choice of breakfast as you arrive and provide a time as to when you are coming down for breakfast!
7.5 Good
Pros: As described
Cons: Bathroom a little small
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was efficient, enthusiastic and more than helpful. The rooms, although rather small had everything you require. Bed comfortable, cleanliness exceptional, the bathroom/ shower gleamed! There was plenty of hot water. Although some of the furniture was dated it had everything you needed, hairdryer, coffee, tea and biscuits. There was an abundance of lovely white towels, shampoo etc. If anything could be improved I would suggest that the exterior( garden, pathways etc.) be upgraded as the first impression would probably put people off. However, in our opinion it is good value for money, only 10 minute walk into the heart of Burford and just round the corner from Burford Golf Club!
Cons: There is great protential for improving the garden which could be put to good use on a nice sunny day. There is outdoor furniture but it wasn't particularly inviting as there was rather a lot of potted plants Which didn't particularly enhance the surroundings.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. The room was comfortable and clean with very good facilities.
Cons: It was very warm so we opened the windows and the road noise was quite loud.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly ! The porridge is amazing . We had a great stay . Lovely and close to burford Hugh street .
Cons: The mattress in the 4 poster bed could do with Beijing double the height . It was hard to sit in the bed to be comfortable because the sides were hard . Amazing bath though !

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful pleasant staff, great location, great food. Comfy bed. Lots of big towels. Free bottled water tea coffee biscuits in room.
Cons: It was just a little “tatty” round the edges... more attention needed on the decor front, stained carpets chipped paint etc.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room we stayed in was massive with a comfortable bed. The location was excelled right in the centre and the breakfast was good. Overall we had a nice stay but I don't think I could have managed any longer.
Cons: The room was not very clean. I may be picky but the toilet brush was not clean and way past its age. The net curtains were ready for a wash.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located.
Cons: Having to pay for parking at the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Handy to all we needed to see food good
Cons: Nothing all good
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The large room with four poster bed.
Cons: Tiny expensive car park, decided not to use it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Happy hour 4-7pm
Cons: A little dated decor
5.5 Okay
Pros: Good location, good sized room & bathroom, breakfast (the food) was ok
Cons: Had to wait to check in - no staff at the desk. The room was a fire exit so had a green emergency light on all night. The waitress at breakfast was appalling, had to ask for milk for the tea, she brought sugar in the end got milk from cereal table? Then asked for mustard for the full breakfast it never arrived so why did she bother asking if we wanted sauces?? Would have had a very cold breakfast if we had waited!
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location.
Cons: The room was disappointing and opened out onto parking spaces in the Courtyard. There was no air conditioning, and no plug in the wash basin. Staff were repeatedly asked for a VAT invoice which was never forthcoming. We wont be recommending the Pheasant.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: The room was very dusty, and breakfast wasnt great. We have stayed at this property alot, we have always been happy, but the prices keep going up and the quality keeps going down. We are so disappointed as this is somewhere we used to love to stay. £140 per night for a room then expecting customers to pay £15 for parking is greedy. The quality of the breakfast produce aswell doesn't justify the price.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff, warm, helpful and friendly. Fabulous breakfast with varied choice. Huge room. Happy hour, half price drinks from 4 to 7. A good dining experience. Perfect location for shops, restaurants and pubs fsrdrns6.
Cons: My husband struggled with the shower over the free standing bath, which he couldn't access due to limited mobility. Everything else was great.
