The location of the hotel was pretty good, about thirty mins away from the downtown area and well off the highway. The property was massive with lots of nice architectural touches to admire. Honestly, the photos online do not at all capture the beauty of this hotel. It was stunning. The room was clean and had everything we needed, including a lovely view of the ocean and the arches. There were several nice, big pool areas to choose from, including an “adults only” pool. I really loved the hotel itself. Service from Axel at the pool was wonderful and we particularly liked him.
I was a little disappointed that there was no accessible beach for swimming on the property. The hotel is near a cliff on a very rocky area of the seaside; I wish I had known this before booking, but the amazing pools made up for it. Having stayed at all inclusive resorts in the past, I thought the service here wasn’t as good as I have had elsewhere. At times, it felt like some of the servers only paid attention to us and came around to get our orders at the pool after realizing that we would tip them well (we’re talking $20 right out the gate) despite the fact that the receipts they have you sign every hour (yes, that often) clearly state that tips are supposedly already included for the all inclusive guests. I noticed other guests getting visibly frustrated by the lax service as well. Also, service at some of the restaurants on site was extremely slow; much too slow for a resort that seemed way below capacity this time of year (January). Sometimes the staff got our orders wrong (undercooked meat when it was clearly requested as well done) or simply didn’t bring what we asked for. Ultimately, I left feeling that we did not receive enough for the all inclusive price tag. On top of that, I question if some drinks we ordered had been diluted (beer and wine probably would have been wiser choices). The breakfast buffet was pretty good, but it was crazy to see on the receipt how much the cost would have been without doing the all inclusive thing; seriously, $100 for two people to eat at the buffet and get one mimosa each? That’s steep, and it’s not like this was an extravagant Vegas-style buffet. Overall, I think there is room for improvement here.
The staff were friendly and the views of the ocean were awesome with whale season
They pushed sales of time shares way too much. Couldn’t get a cab to go into town with out being questioned if we were going to another resort for a presentation -3 times! Tried to put us in a regular room when we booked a luxury suite. Found out about three weeks after we were in a small suite that we were in a junior suite . Never did get the luxury suite. When we asked for credit card to be changed we were told it wasn’t possible because billing for 2019 was closed out and it was 2020! Phone broke in the room and it took two days before anyone came up to even check it.
This place was beautiful! The staff treats you like royalty! It’s minutes away from the Marina and the resort itself is a place you would never want to leave.
Everything was perfect
The hotel vibe was awesome. Food excellent and restaurant choices. Golf cart shuttles run so guests don’t have to walk a great service for everyone. All Inclusive is fabulous and the dine out privileges are great. Will come back!
The sun beds were uncomfortable
Can’t think of anything... have been to nine countries with multiple hotels this year. This was by far my worst experience. Took my daughter here for her birthday... let’s just say her birthday was ruined.
