Pros:1) The room was spacious, well furnished, and clean. 2) The A/C always had all the power needed to cool the room. 3) There were no mosquitoes or other insects. 4) The shower water was always hot enough. 5) Breakfast was good. 6) The cleaning staff were pleasant.
Cons:1) WARNING: One night, a large man broke into my room at about 11:30 PM while I was sleeping. He only left after I screamed at him several times as loud as I could. The hotel claimed he was a new guest who was confused about which room was his. But the next morning, I discovered that the hotel had knowingly given that man a master key that was able to unlock the door to my room. 2) The hotel reception staff repeatedly tried to pressure me to switch to other smaller or dingier rooms. 3) The WiFi was very weak. Too weak to use Skype or Thunderbird, even when sitting right next to the WiFi router. Webpages often loaded slowly. The last 48 hours of my stay, there was absolutely no internet access at all. 4) Whenever the room below mine turned on their A/C, the entire floor would vibrate, which was very irritating and made it difficult to sleep. The hotel acknowledged the problem but repeatedly refused to try to fix that other A/C. 5) The A/C in my room dripped water about once per hour. The hotel staff tried once to fix it, unsuccessfully. 6) The lights in the room were a harsh cold white color. 7) Common lounge spaces were often occupied by smokers puffing away or trays of leftover food.
