The grounds are well maintained and create a relaxing atmosphere whether you are walking around, enjoying the pool, or relaxing on your balcony.

Pros: The location of the resort is beautiful The beach is rocky but the snorkeling was pretty good. The grounds are well kept and the sunsets are gorgeous. The resort is walking distance to restaurants and shopping.
Cons: The condo we had was just okay. Everything looked worn out. There was nowhere comfortable to sit. The bed was uncomfortable and the sleeper sofa felt like a pancake on springs. For the amount of money we paid we expected something better. We had paid for the condo in full months before we went and when we checked out they wanted to charge us some random room tax that my husband refused to pay.
The bathrooms were nice. The housekeeping was okay.
Pros: Gorgeous Views and grounds!

Pros: Beautiful place, great liason and the people were wonderful!
Pros: Loved the location close to Cruz Bay. The staff and owner were incredible. Definitely will be back
Pros: I liked that the inn is within walking distance to the ferry, bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. The staff took care of us and valued our business. Additionally, they offered coolers, lawn chairs, ice, beach towels, and even had beer and bottled water available to purchase ($2 for beers and $1 for waters--you can't beat that).

Pros: All the employees where extremely attentive, the room was very comfortable, beautiful views, the pool area was great, the restaurant served delicious food.
Cons: Location, although you get to enjoy beautiful views in order to move around is best to rent a motorcycle or car.
Pros: The view and sea breeze were wonderful and service and accommodation was great
Pros: The restaurant was excellent. View of the harbor from every seat of this open air place. Even at the bar: the bartender's area was sunken to allow for better views. We were there at dusk, and watched as the daylight view of sailboats and a cruise ship turned into a sea of twinkling lights. Staff very friendly and helpful. One of the best Sunday brunches I've ever had. Easy taxi ride from airport and to ferry.
Cons: Since it is on a mountainside, there are a lot of stone steps to negotiate. No elevators, which makes it difficult if you have a lot of luggage, as we did. We only stayed one night, but I would have rented a car if we were staying longer, as it is too far to walk to town. Bedroom was small but comfortable. I would have preferred one with a view. Pool was small, and in view from the bar.
Pros: a great deal and a friemdly staff
Located 1.5 mi (2.4 km) from the airport, Mafolie Hotel offers a great location, putting you within a 15-minute walk of Blackbeard's Castle and Emancipation Garden. Nice touches like pillowtop beds with premium linens are offered up in all rooms, along with flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.
Pros: Location and View was very nice, it made up for the deficiencies, staff was nice, property has huge potential.
Cons: Property needs investment by Marriott, Stains on the carpet, elevators had repairs, no hot water one morning, food selections not diverse enough
Not enough pluses for me to return
Pros: Wonderful views! Great beaches, pools, restaurants, bars and activities. We were only there for one evening and then in to another leg of our trip. I would like to stay longer next time.
Cons: The room was in need of some TLC. The baseboards, light switches and walls are badly beaten up. This will not stop me from staying there again. Every other area of the property is wonderful.
Pros: The hotel was in a nice location and nicely setup
Cons: They have lot of mosquitoes all over resort and even inside the rooms. The rooms are old and need renovation
Cons: Staff was disinterested in providing good service.
Pros: Swimming pools are great with the view of the sunset.
Cons: They have 5 restaurants and not a great selection on the menu and very pricey.
You need a car if you're going to stay at that the Frenchman's reef. Average price for a taxi was anywhere from $8 to $14.
Luggage is $4 a piece.
Pros: After a long day of travel it was nice to pull into a resort that was all inclusive. There was no need to leave the premises
Cons: There were some signs of deferred maintenance
Pros: Activities included in the resort fee for adults and children are excellent. Water aerobics, trivia games, yoga classes, parrot show, etc.
Cons: Food prices on the property are pretty high given the average quality. The standout is Havana Blue which is on the reef side and privately operated --- the food there is excellent!

After visiting the fitness center for a workout, you can grab a bite to eat at one of the 2 restaurants or unwind with a drink at the pool bar. An outdoor pool and a children's pool are other highlights, and villas offer conveniences like kitchenettes and sofa beds.
Pros: The staff is extremely nice! They upgraded our room to a balcony with a view since it was our first time there. Which was pretty awesome. And the snorkeling is great at the hotel, absolutely beautiful.
Cons: the hotel is very average. It's pretty outdated, the hot water didn't work the first night then the next few nights it would work for about 10 mins. The room was incredibly humid, our clothes in our suitcase were not just damp but wet. The bed is not that comfortable and the food was very overpriced and very average. ONE empanada was 14 dollars.
I don't feel that for the price you are getting a whole lot. But overall you aren't staying in your room often so we had a great time
Pros: From beginning to end the staff was amazing! The food is second to none and the location is beautiful!
Cons: I guess our room could use a little updating, but overall was nice.
Pros: Staff are always great, friendly and attentive!
Cons: Rooms could use a little updating
Pros: The outdoor areas are beautiful. The staff is very nice. There is so much to see and do at the Resort. The restaurants are very nice and the food is very good. The free beach equipment was a lot of fun.
Pros: The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The amenities and number of activities you can do on site was great. The restaurants were par. ok food, nothing to write home about.
The views were beautiful and the facilities were clean.
Cons: The water pressure in our shower was sub par and it made for cleaning off after the beach difficult.
The carnival night which was advertised as very fun and a great time was not really all that exciting. I probably would have found something better to do with my evening had I known.
Pros: The onsite water activities that is available and heavenly days
Sailing boat option. Two nearby restaurants by hotel.
Cons: Bathroom toiletries could of been better. Like travel size shampoo and soaps for one time/ individual use

Pros: Inn keeper very nice and delicious breakfast!
Cons: Room was ok, but a/c was leaking and room didn't get cleaned 1 day...overall great value for price paid.
Pros: Great view.
Pool looked nice
Bed was good
Cons: Rooms need renovated
Pros: Room is clean
Cons: Everyone has to use the same bathroom.
Located 0.9 mi (1.5 km) from the airport, Galleon House Bed Breakfast Inn offers a great location, putting you within just a 10-minute walk of Emancipation Garden and Fort Christian. After having fun at the outdoor pool, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. Also, Blackbeard's Castle and Magens Bay are within a short drive.
Pros: I liked that the hotel was close to the airport and had everything. It's close to downtown and shopping as well
Cons: The hotel restaurant and bar are a bit over priced and mostly American food. I was also checked into a room that was already occupied but it was quickly resolved.
Pros: The location is not very safe! As I was sitting on my 1st floor balcony a man came up to me after dark wanting me to let him use my cell phone. He had to be told numerous times NO!! He waited on my husband to go in the room before he came over and ask me!! It was very scarybecause it was very dark and not lit well at all! Then when I was checking out that morning the forensic police officers were there to investigate a burglary they had the night of our stay! If you are considering staying at this property I would definitely reconsider! As it did not seem safe at all!
Cons: It was not.a safe area. The cost to stay at this property is s RIP off!
Pros: Beach location, facilities, beachfront rooms, proximity to airport
Cons: Cleanliness of bathroom, tired looking rooms in dire need of light and airy updates
Pros: I enjoyed the overall experience at the Emerald Beach resort but the rooms and the property as a whole needs to be updated. It was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful and I especially enjoyed the quality inn location of the beach. It's proximity to the airport was a little disappointing but not overbearing. I would definitely stay there again but they had to straighten out the bill for me because the price did not match what I booked on kayak
Cons: The locals on Saint Thomas that inhabit the island are not very friendly in general. I really think they do not like tourists or Caucasian people at all And there were many lovely experiences I had with people there but you know who the locals are and you can tell that they really have a resentment. But as for the staff at the Emerald Beach they were lovely
Pros: Nice rooms friendly service. Great Beach!
Pros: Paul welcomed me every morning for breakfast at the restaurant. Smiles all around. Big sand beach that even had a place for a novice snorkelers to see exotic fish without being terrified. Crystal clear water. John set me up with trips and cabs. Even made sure I didn't get taken advantage of. I forgot and left my safe open, with money and potent pain meds, they cleaned my room and to my surprise nothing was stolen. Florentina was the cleaner and I was left feeling secure and safe in my room. I can't say enough about the staff. I really felt at home. Beautiful beaches, sunsets, beach bar parties. Will definitely go back again. I'm not kidding I'm telling everyone I know.
Cons: Spirit airlines
Cons: Ran out of water while taking showers multiple times
Pros: Loved the beach location and closeness to airport - we walked. Loved the cool tropical gardens and plushness of surroundings despite a drought. Loved the refreshing pool after being on the beach with the waterfall. Setting of restaurant is beautiful. Rooms and beds extremely comfortable and views are spectacular. Staff was very friendly and informative.
Cons: The shower ran out of water while I was in it. The quality of the food was okay but overpriced. Wine was way out of line expense wise.
Pros: Perfect location, beautiful beach front, close to the airport (you could literally walk there from the hotel) staff was friendly. Food and drink were definitely over priced but that's to be expected I guess because everything there has to be imported... Love this place and would definitely go back!
Cons: The pillows and bedding weren't very comfortable, U fortunately we didn't get a restful good night sleep any night we were there, but everything else was great!!
Pros: It was a nice hotel. The staff was great! Needs a little updating in the rooms, but they were very clean. The food was also delicious. I would stay there again.
100% Beachfront Resort on one of the most beautiful beaches on the Island of St. Thomas. Each room has a private balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea and just a few steps from the edge of the Ocean! OnSite Beachfront Restaurants; Caribbean Fusion and The Beach Bar
Pros: Not the nicest location on St John but definitely worth the amount they charge. Big bang for the buck.
Cons: It is at the top of a huge hill, i.e. Hillcrest. Steep walk from the ferry. If you are renting a car pick it up before you ascend the walk to Hillcrest with your luggage.
Pros: I wanted to be centrally located. The guest house is a very short, but very steep walk from downtown. It has all the amenities such as a full kitchen, large seating area, comfortable bedroom, good sized bathroom and even a spacious outdoor area that is all screened in. It gave you the option of being able to go downtown for shopping or restaurants while not being stuck at a resort in some remote place on the island. If you aren't renting a car, you don't need one if you stay here; this is the place if you can manage the steep hill. I'm in decent shape and I was winded each time I went up. But I would definitely stay here again. You got the benefit of being close to downtown without all the noise.
At Hillcrest Guest House, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Trunk Bay. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby kayaking, scuba diving, and snorkeling, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily. Rooms feature kitchenettes and DVD players.
Pros: Fairly clean and quaint. Great Air conditioning.. Didn't get to stay for breakfast as we had to catch the early ferry to BVI. Dinner the night before was good.
Cons: Quite a few steps if you have heavy luggage.
Pros: Great location, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Just around the corner from all the shops and boutiques on Main street.
Cons: Lots of stairs. Not a problem for us, but if you have any physical disabilities this is probably not the best choice.
Pros: Bunker Hill is located in the town near shopping and restaurants and is good value for the money. It is not a luxury or beach front hotel, but is conveniently located in the town.
The rooms are adequate, wifi is available, the staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good.
It is very acceptable as an 1 or 2 day stay in the town.
Cons: Rooms were a bit outdated and there are no elevators to the top floors.
Pros: It Was A Very Nice Hotel..I Would Recommend It To Anybody
Cons: The Location Is Horibble
Pros: This hotel is very basic and is OK for an overnight stay. It is clean and the room had TV, air conditioning, a small fridge and en suite bathroom and shower. I would stay here again if it was only for a quick overnight. It is value for money.
The staff were phenomenal. I arrived at 11:00 PM as did other travelers. The hotel clerk came outside to the taxi to greet us and carry luggage inside. He also carried luggage to the room......the people were very friendly and helpful making for a pleasant experience. Breakfast to order, although limited, was very good and is included in the room cost.......:)
Cons: Several floors with only steps - can be a challenge if you have heavy luggage and no one to help......
Pros: Great Location, staff and breakfast!
Cons: Look oudated, the bed needs replacement and the shower was terrible...
Pros: What did your like?
The staff was very nice and eager to please. Stair are very common at hotels on St. Thomas. This is the first place I stayed where they took up my luggage. They breakfast was good and serviced by a friendly staff. I liked that it was a family run hotel owned by locals.
It is closed to all the shopping in the old downtown district which is a lot of fun.
Cons: What didn't I like?
I would not recommend families with small children to stay there.
All the stairs would be dangerous for them.
They are doing some additions which are not safe for children.
If you can not walk stairs this is not for you.
Pros: The staff were absolutely fabulous! This is a smaller family run hotel, that could use a little updating [nothing major] that you could care less about because the staff is just that great. They are very accomodating [held our bags for us after we checked out for a few hours]. The only draw back for some travelers might be that there are a lot of stairs, which was not a problem for us and our two younger children. We would definitely stay there again!!
Pros: So we got an e-mail a week in advance of staying here that the King bed Harbor View suite that we paid for for our dream trip was not going to be available because there were guests failing to vacate for the next week because of travel flight cancelations. You stated you would be giving us a standard room with a full size bed and a small food comp. at your reataurant for the inconvenience. Classy!!
Cons: You didn't offer any other way to resolve this, as in maybe telling the guests in the King Harbor View Suite that unfortunately you have that Suite sold for the weekend and they would be more than welcome to stay in your standard room with a full size bed if they wanted to extend their vacation.......
Located 1 mi (1.6 km) from the airport, Bunker Hill Hotel offers a great location, putting you within just a 10-minute walk of Emancipation Garden and Fort Christian. After hanging out at the outdoor pool or indoor pool, guests can grab a bite to eat at Sugarcane Grille, which serves Caribbean cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner. Also, Blackbeard's Castle and Magens Bay are within a short drive.
This tranquil hideaway stands along a white-sand beach at the eastern tip of St. Thomas, a half-mile from the ferry to the emerald-green island of St. John. Charlotte-Amalie Airport is about 8 miles away.
A two-level freshwater pool provides spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and neighboring islands. The up offers complimentary use of non-motorized water sports equipment such as snorkeling gear. A dive center offers scuba-diving excursions, lessons, and certification classes (surcharges). The resort also features a 67-slip marina. The property's restaurant offers American cuisine for breakfast and lunch. Babysitting is available for a surcharge. This property is smoke-free.
Spacious, air-conditioned suites feature full kitchens, living/dining areas, and furnished balconies or patios with sea views. Beds have Tempur-Pedic mattresses. Living areas include sofa beds. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available. TVs provide satellite channels. Tropical-style decor includes louvered front doors, white tile floors, ceiling fans, and rattan furniture.
Pros: Rooms are large with great views. Staff is personable and helpful. Rooms are immaculate. Convenient location—3-5 min. taxi ride to ferries to BVI and St. John. The hotel beach is great and is nestled between Coki Beach and Lindquist Beach—the two best beaches for snorkeling IMO.
Cons: Pricey food! Eat elsewhere!
Pros: Friendly staff. Great pool and outdoor public areas. Good at hotel was very expensive so BYOB and bring snacks with you.
Cons: Price of food and bars was outrageous. Cost over $70 for 2 people to have omelette and coffee for breakfast!
Pros: Don't stay here, go to Cancun. Wayyy better.
Pros: Great location. Helpful staff.
Cons: The place is falling apart. Everything feels Busch league from the way the room was decorated and cleaned to the literal worst Chinese food we've ever had.
Pros: Liked the view from our waterfront room, convenience of all inclusive, and the staff was good, but it being off season, seemed to be sometimes a bit short on availability.
Cons: The food quality was very average. If you are used to eating out above a standard sit down chain (ruby tuesday's, applebees, fridays) you are not going to be impressed with the dinners. Lunch was generally pretty good with some fresh fish, and sometimes cold shell fish. Breakfast was decent, but i have definitley seen better spreads (i get the impression again this was off season, so not their best). The room was very nice, but there were bathrooms in the pool area and other areas that you just felt like they needed refreshed (rust stained urinals, and non working hot water in the mens room, and rusty light fixtures)
Pros: Resort was pretty
Cons: Service was the worst ever.
They ran out of liquor
the ran out of steak knives
They ran out of milk.
The did not bring coffee cups when bringing a pot of coffee from room service
They ran out of beach towels by 11am every day.
The beach was not really a beach... you needed water shoes to even get in the water and loads of sea urchins.
Pool closed at seven every night
Not much for entertainment.
Very hard to get off resort unless you wanted to pay 50 buck a couple to go anywhere.
Pros: The pool/beach and water sports at the resort are amazing! You can snorkel right off the beach and see more fish than if taking a boat tour which is also offered at the resort. It's was great to be at a resort that is all inclusive. The view is also great! The facilities are nice and I loved the decorative tile in all the buildings.
Cons: The rooms are not the cleanest; I had an ant problem in my room. Little things are noticeable such as light bulbs being burnt out and not replaced or dirty floors. They have activities at night but they end earlier than when people are ready to go back to their rooms. Not a location I would go back to as a solo traveler.
Pros: It was absolutely beautiful resort inputs and outside!
Cons: We had requested two beds in a room we only got one king bed. We also met many couples who had the same issue and some vice versa they got asked for a king bed and got two doubles. also the bed was not very comfortable it was kind of firm!
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. Helped me plan a romantic dinner on the beach for my boyfriends birthday. The view from our balcony was amazing .
Cons: The room could have been a little cleaner( like the bathroom there was some areas I saw cracks on the toilet and the balcony area had some cobwebs ) but overall it was great.
Sugar Bay Resort and Spa offers a private beach where you can play volleyball, plus you'll be just a 5-minute drive from Coki Beach. 3 outdoor pools provide fun for everyone, while guests in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in massages, hydrotherapy, and mani/pedis. Manor House, one of 5 restaurants, serves international cuisine and is open for breakfast and dinner. 3 bars/lounges and a poolside bar are offered, and rooms at this luxurious resort have conveniences like sofa beds and refrigerators.
Pros: The location was great. Easy access to shopping district. Staff was nice and helpful.
Cons: The towels weren't so clean but good thing I brought my own. Didn't like that the hotel was open on the middle so when it rain the steps and everything got wet which could be dangerous if you're leaving your room. No elevators.
Pros: It was clean and the air conditioning worked. Walk to downtown Charlotte Almalie.
Cons: It was very old, outdated and need renovations. The neighborhood was kind of edgy.
Pros: front desk lady was nice.
Cons: The courtyard smelled like cat urine, there were no phones in room to call taxi, there were holes in walls between rooms, gaps around air conditioning, ran out of small amount of toilet paper that was in bathroom and no one available to get more from, etc
No phone (had to roam to call cab) had to stand outside room to access free wi-fi
Pros: Great location, room was clean
Cons: Stairs, stairs, stairs, stairs. Lugging a heavy suitcase up to the top level left me breathless and sweaty. Im strong and healthy and still found it a challenge.
We chose this hotel for one night. Came late...left early. Any more time than that we would have definitely made another choice.
Pros: The location and price can't be beat
Cons: Well...the bed was a full size and very uncomfortable. When you moved around or got up of the bed you could hear the springs go 'sproing'! We kept looking to see if they popped out! The bathroom was miniscule...no shampoo, no washclothes or hand towel
