7 beaches, all beautiful, but 2 were were even more gorgeous than the others and felt private Good food Great service Very relaxing Easy access to Cruz Bay for restaurants and shopping Great transportation to all the beaches -- very quick One of the main restaurants was closed.
Not very infant friendly unless you are right by a scheduled bus stop. Also no phones in the room which make it very hard to order room service and they don't supply rooms with menus to order room service. Can't order food at 11 am from room service, you have to wait until 1130am to order food not a big deal unless you are planning to leave for the airport at 12 and room service takes an hour to get.
Activities included in the resort fee for adults and children are excellent. Water aerobics, trivia games, yoga classes, parrot show, etc. Food prices on the property are pretty high given the average quality. The standout is Havana Blue which is on the reef side and privately operated --- the food there is excellent!
Location and View was very nice, it made up for the deficiencies, staff was nice, property has huge potential. Property needs investment by Marriott, Stains on the carpet, elevators had repairs, no hot water one morning, food selections not diverse enough Not enough pluses for me to return
After a long day of travel it was nice to pull into a resort that was all inclusive. There was no need to leave the premises There were some signs of deferred maintenance
Wonderful views! Great beaches, pools, restaurants, bars and activities. We were only there for one evening and then in to another leg of our trip. I would like to stay longer next time. The room was in need of some TLC. The baseboards, light switches and walls are badly beaten up. This will not stop me from staying there again. Every other area of the property is wonderful.
Staff was disinterested in providing good service.
Swimming pools are great with the view of the sunset. They have 5 restaurants and not a great selection on the menu and very pricey. You need a car if you're going to stay at that the Frenchman's reef. Average price for a taxi was anywhere from $8 to $14. Luggage is $4 a piece.
The hotel was in a nice location and nicely setup They have lot of mosquitoes all over resort and even inside the rooms. The rooms are old and need renovation
It was absolutely beautiful resort inputs and outside! We had requested two beds in a room we only got one king bed. We also met many couples who had the same issue and some vice versa they got asked for a king bed and got two doubles. also the bed was not very comfortable it was kind of firm!
Resort was pretty Service was the worst ever. They ran out of liquor the ran out of steak knives They ran out of milk. The did not bring coffee cups when bringing a pot of coffee from room service They ran out of beach towels by 11am every day. The beach was not really a beach... you needed water shoes to even get in the water and loads of sea urchins. Pool closed at seven every night Not much for entertainment. Very hard to get off resort unless you wanted to pay 50 buck a couple to go anywhere.
The pool/beach and water sports at the resort are amazing! You can snorkel right off the beach and see more fish than if taking a boat tour which is also offered at the resort. It's was great to be at a resort that is all inclusive. The view is also great! The facilities are nice and I loved the decorative tile in all the buildings. The rooms are not the cleanest; I had an ant problem in my room. Little things are noticeable such as light bulbs being burnt out and not replaced or dirty floors. They have activities at night but they end earlier than when people are ready to go back to their rooms. Not a location I would go back to as a solo traveler.
Don't stay here, go to Cancun. Wayyy better.
Liked the view from our waterfront room, convenience of all inclusive, and the staff was good, but it being off season, seemed to be sometimes a bit short on availability. The food quality was very average. If you are used to eating out above a standard sit down chain (ruby tuesday's, applebees, fridays) you are not going to be impressed with the dinners. Lunch was generally pretty good with some fresh fish, and sometimes cold shell fish. Breakfast was decent, but i have definitley seen better spreads (i get the impression again this was off season, so not their best). The room was very nice, but there were bathrooms in the pool area and other areas that you just felt like they needed refreshed (rust stained urinals, and non working hot water in the mens room, and rusty light fixtures)
Great location. Helpful staff. The place is falling apart. Everything feels Busch league from the way the room was decorated and cleaned to the literal worst Chinese food we've ever had.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Helped me plan a romantic dinner on the beach for my boyfriends birthday. The view from our balcony was amazing . The room could have been a little cleaner( like the bathroom there was some areas I saw cracks on the toilet and the balcony area had some cobwebs ) but overall it was great.
Friendly staff. Great pool and outdoor public areas. Good at hotel was very expensive so BYOB and bring snacks with you. Price of food and bars was outrageous. Cost over $70 for 2 people to have omelette and coffee for breakfast!
Dirty cockroach infected and lousy air conditioning. 200 dollars for this? Only positive across from ferry dock.
We paid over $700 for 3 nights. That is definitely not value for your money. And we did not eat or drink anything there because it was so costly.
Proximity Restaurant space was not nice, food was not great, coffee was week and over priced
great location, pool and bar were nice bathrooms could've been cleaner and we experienced a leak in our ceiling and had to be moved to another room...
If you're coming or going to the BVI, hotel is across the street from the ferry terminal making it perfect for crash and dash. Nothing spectacular about the hotel. Clean, quiet, what more do you want? Walking distance to Frenchtown where there are several bars and restaurants.
Bugs!!!!! Many bugs drive me crazy, and the front dest told me the manager will contact me very soon, I'm still waiting for that!!!!!
Location near the ferry dock and seaplane base. Water front room exceptionally noisy. Saturday booze barge party passed the hotel a 100' off the sea wall until midnight with blaring music that seemed to rattle the Windows. Also the light show all night on the facade of the building made me feel like I was in Vegas. Do not spend the extra $ for water front.
The staff is so friendly, there is a restaurant/bar on the premises, and it is easy to get around. Walking is easy and near to other fine dining, and there are taxis available. The shuttle to the beach is great. No room service. If that had happened, I could have given a higher rating.
We were using this hotel as a one night stay before we cought our plane next day. It's OK just to stay in for one night I just wish I had tile floors I'm not a big fan of carpets and the beds were not super luxurious a average hotel for a great price. And absolutely within walking distance of shopping.
The location is convenient The wait to check in was ridiculously long. Even though it was 5.00, way past check in time, a lot of people were being told to wait as the rooms weren't ready. Our keys didn't work, or so we thought - turned out the door was so warped we had to literally put our shoulders into it to open the door. The room was very worn generally. Lukewarm water in the shower at best. About an hour after we arrived, the door to the room flew open - another group had been assigned our room and given keys to it. The pool was dirty with black mold and used band aids floating around. The staff were nice enough, but they are battling against impossible odds here. This place probably needs knocking down and rebuilding from the ground up.
Is a beutifull hotel with view to the bay also has a perfect location for lunch and dinner is nearby for shopping so you can walk to all town tourist places. I will stay for the futher when I have to go there. short of space for parking and the housekeeping personnel does not clean well the room.
We landed in St Thomas to catch the ferry the next morning to the BVI. This was right across the street and about a block down from the ferry. Can't get closer to this. Stayed both on our way to BVI and our way back. Had breakfast the first time, small portion and not anything to rave about. Had dinner the way home and it was very nice - good pasta dish. Upon arrival - late afternoon after 4 pm - we were told that our room wasn't available. We waited a few minutes with a few others in the same situation. Then we asked again and another lady found a different room that was available. Not sure why they made us wait, and would have continued to make us wait.
Stayed in the villas at ''The Cove''. If you need a lot of space--this works. Great for traveling with very young children and even a nanny. You can also set up an account at the adjoining marriot hotel and go to the beach at morningstar. The cove is not very caribean in style. Our room had granite counters and furnishings found in any Marriot--not very island-ish. We also stayed in Morningstar beachside. We preferred that location for its ambiance.
Stayed in Nov of 2009.The setting is beautiful and the villas are exceptional. Well equiped and spacious. Food is very expensive but with the kitchenette we were able to fix some meals in the room. The location is secluded and private but that can also be a problem with transportation. Suggest renting a car but be prepared to drive on the left side. With it being still under construction going back and forth to the hotel will be more converient in days to come. There will be carts to transport guests. In some of the eateries the menus were very limited but the portions were huge and very tasty. We will definitely go back.
I'm an owner and spent my 3rd week here at the end of October. The rooms are very nice. We have a 2 bedroom, both of which are roomy with adjacent bathrooms and balconies. The Living Room/Dining Room/Kitchen are in the middle of the unit, providing additional privacy between the bedrooms if needed. I do recommend renting a car. I had no problem with driving on the left side (just remember to stay close to the left side of the road). The steering wheel is situated as in mainland US. There are plenty of taxis to get you where you want to go, but a car may be more economical. We paid $80 in taxi fees for 4 people to go out to dinner. We only did it so we didn't have to be concerned if we drank. The beach at the Cove is nice, but you need to be careful of sea urchins. To the right of the dock, there are rocks near the beach that you need to get over to get to where it's sandy under the water. This is where I had an encounter with a sea urchin. It's sandier on the left side of the dock. Meals are expensive and you'll be happy to have a kitchen. There are free shuttles to transport you from the Cove to the Marriott Frenchman's Reef (hotel) and to Morningstar. We like Havana Blue restaurant at Morningstar, but it is pricey.
a great deal and a friemdly staff nothing
The view and sea breeze were wonderful and service and accommodation was great
The restaurant was excellent. View of the harbor from every seat of this open air place. Even at the bar: the bartender's area was sunken to allow for better views. We were there at dusk, and watched as the daylight view of sailboats and a cruise ship turned into a sea of twinkling lights. Staff very friendly and helpful. One of the best Sunday brunches I've ever had. Easy taxi ride from airport and to ferry. Since it is on a mountainside, there are a lot of stone steps to negotiate. No elevators, which makes it difficult if you have a lot of luggage, as we did. We only stayed one night, but I would have rented a car if we were staying longer, as it is too far to walk to town. Bedroom was small but comfortable. I would have preferred one with a view. Pool was small, and in view from the bar.
All the employees where extremely attentive, the room was very comfortable, beautiful views, the pool area was great, the restaurant served delicious food. Location, although you get to enjoy beautiful views in order to move around is best to rent a motorcycle or car.
I liked that the inn is within walking distance to the ferry, bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. The staff took care of us and valued our business. Additionally, they offered coolers, lawn chairs, ice, beach towels, and even had beer and bottled water available to purchase ($2 for beers and $1 for waters--you can't beat that).
Beautiful place, great liason and the people were wonderful!
Loved the location close to Cruz Bay. The staff and owner were incredible. Definitely will be back
The location of the resort is beautiful The beach is rocky but the snorkeling was pretty good. The grounds are well kept and the sunsets are gorgeous. The resort is walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The condo we had was just okay. Everything looked worn out. There was nowhere comfortable to sit. The bed was uncomfortable and the sleeper sofa felt like a pancake on springs. For the amount of money we paid we expected something better. We had paid for the condo in full months before we went and when we checked out they wanted to charge us some random room tax that my husband refused to pay. The bathrooms were nice. The housekeeping was okay.
Gorgeous Views and grounds!
Clean, appropriately appointed, rooms in a location providing, with a short walk or hike, access to town and the beach (Honeymoon & Solomon). The grounds are well maintained and create a relaxing atmosphere whether you are walking around, enjoying the pool, or relaxing on your balcony. Estate Lindholm provides towels, beach chairs and coolers that you can take for the day to the beach making it easy to simply put on your suit and go. Overall, Estate Lindholm is well-located and nicely maintained. Gordon at team will take excellent care of you allowing you to relax and enjoy your stay. No dislikes
Loved the beach location and closeness to airport - we walked. Loved the cool tropical gardens and plushness of surroundings despite a drought. Loved the refreshing pool after being on the beach with the waterfall. Setting of restaurant is beautiful. Rooms and beds extremely comfortable and views are spectacular. Staff was very friendly and informative. The shower ran out of water while I was in it. The quality of the food was okay but overpriced. Wine was way out of line expense wise.
Ran out of water while taking showers multiple times
Perfect location, beautiful beach front, close to the airport (you could literally walk there from the hotel) staff was friendly. Food and drink were definitely over priced but that's to be expected I guess because everything there has to be imported... Love this place and would definitely go back! The pillows and bedding weren't very comfortable, U fortunately we didn't get a restful good night sleep any night we were there, but everything else was great!!
Paul welcomed me every morning for breakfast at the restaurant. Smiles all around. Big sand beach that even had a place for a novice snorkelers to see exotic fish without being terrified. Crystal clear water. John set me up with trips and cabs. Even made sure I didn't get taken advantage of. I forgot and left my safe open, with money and potent pain meds, they cleaned my room and to my surprise nothing was stolen. Florentina was the cleaner and I was left feeling secure and safe in my room. I can't say enough about the staff. I really felt at home. Beautiful beaches, sunsets, beach bar parties. Will definitely go back again. I'm not kidding I'm telling everyone I know. Spirit airlines
Nice rooms friendly service. Great Beach!
Beach location, facilities, beachfront rooms, proximity to airport Cleanliness of bathroom, tired looking rooms in dire need of light and airy updates
I enjoyed the overall experience at the Emerald Beach resort but the rooms and the property as a whole needs to be updated. It was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful and I especially enjoyed the quality inn location of the beach. It's proximity to the airport was a little disappointing but not overbearing. I would definitely stay there again but they had to straighten out the bill for me because the price did not match what I booked on kayak The locals on Saint Thomas that inhabit the island are not very friendly in general. I really think they do not like tourists or Caucasian people at all And there were many lovely experiences I had with people there but you know who the locals are and you can tell that they really have a resentment. But as for the staff at the Emerald Beach they were lovely
It was a nice hotel. The staff was great! Needs a little updating in the rooms, but they were very clean. The food was also delicious. I would stay there again.
The location is not very safe! As I was sitting on my 1st floor balcony a man came up to me after dark wanting me to let him use my cell phone. He had to be told numerous times NO!! He waited on my husband to go in the room before he came over and ask me!! It was very scarybecause it was very dark and not lit well at all! Then when I was checking out that morning the forensic police officers were there to investigate a burglary they had the night of our stay! If you are considering staying at this property I would definitely reconsider! As it did not seem safe at all! It was not.a safe area. The cost to stay at this property is s RIP off!
I liked that the hotel was close to the airport and had everything. It's close to downtown and shopping as well The hotel restaurant and bar are a bit over priced and mostly American food. I was also checked into a room that was already occupied but it was quickly resolved.
This hotel is very basic and is OK for an overnight stay. It is clean and the room had TV, air conditioning, a small fridge and en suite bathroom and shower. I would stay here again if it was only for a quick overnight. It is value for money. The staff were phenomenal. I arrived at 11:00 PM as did other travelers. The hotel clerk came outside to the taxi to greet us and carry luggage inside. He also carried luggage to the room......the people were very friendly and helpful making for a pleasant experience. Breakfast to order, although limited, was very good and is included in the room cost.......:) Several floors with only steps - can be a challenge if you have heavy luggage and no one to help......
What did your like? The staff was very nice and eager to please. Stair are very common at hotels on St. Thomas. This is the first place I stayed where they took up my luggage. They breakfast was good and serviced by a friendly staff. I liked that it was a family run hotel owned by locals. It is closed to all the shopping in the old downtown district which is a lot of fun. What didn't I like? I would not recommend families with small children to stay there. All the stairs would be dangerous for them. They are doing some additions which are not safe for children. If you can not walk stairs this is not for you.
Great Location, staff and breakfast! Look oudated, the bed needs replacement and the shower was terrible...
Bunker Hill is located in the town near shopping and restaurants and is good value for the money. It is not a luxury or beach front hotel, but is conveniently located in the town. The rooms are adequate, wifi is available, the staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. It is very acceptable as an 1 or 2 day stay in the town. Rooms were a bit outdated and there are no elevators to the top floors.
So we got an e-mail a week in advance of staying here that the King bed Harbor View suite that we paid for for our dream trip was not going to be available because there were guests failing to vacate for the next week because of travel flight cancelations. You stated you would be giving us a standard room with a full size bed and a small food comp. at your reataurant for the inconvenience. Classy!! You didn't offer any other way to resolve this, as in maybe telling the guests in the King Harbor View Suite that unfortunately you have that Suite sold for the weekend and they would be more than welcome to stay in your standard room with a full size bed if they wanted to extend their vacation.......
It Was A Very Nice Hotel..I Would Recommend It To Anybody The Location Is Horibble
Great location, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Just around the corner from all the shops and boutiques on Main street. Lots of stairs. Not a problem for us, but if you have any physical disabilities this is probably not the best choice.
The staff were absolutely fabulous! This is a smaller family run hotel, that could use a little updating [nothing major] that you could care less about because the staff is just that great. They are very accomodating [held our bags for us after we checked out for a few hours]. The only draw back for some travelers might be that there are a lot of stairs, which was not a problem for us and our two younger children. We would definitely stay there again!! nothing
Fairly clean and quaint. Great Air conditioning.. Didn't get to stay for breakfast as we had to catch the early ferry to BVI. Dinner the night before was good. Quite a few steps if you have heavy luggage.
Beach. We found our hotel room (119) less than desirable. There were flourescent lightbulbs, no screen on the door to the balcony overlooking the parking lot. The furniture was dated, and the staircase to reach our room was dark and unlit in the early evening.
We were very disapointed. The hotel staff was very rude and unhelpful. The hotel was not clean and in desparate need of maintenance.
The beachside restaurant was great. The pool was lovely and the staff were very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.
it was better in reality than the pictures was showing.only the beach was not really a beach but there's so many beaches in st thomas to explore than the one at your hotel .the studio was really clean , towells were changed everyday.parking facilities and proximity to the supermarket was perfect.also the restaurant is great and you must try the lobster.
we are time share owners at the Elysian Beach Resort (2 weeks) and go down every year . the management lacks any knowledge of just what vacationers want and expect when they arrive and stay there. 1st. they only have 69 rooms to rent so they are always overbooked. are weeks are deeded ,so we own the unit for 2 weeks every year sat to sat. this year we arrived on a sunday night and were told that they had put someone in OUR room and they would try and put us in another room. we got our room on monday. This properity used to be a RCI 5 star gold crown resort but no longer. it would be lucky to get 1 star. 2 resturants on prop. and both overpriced for what you get. if you don't have a car you are stuck there unless you take cab's everywhere, very expensive. if going to the USVI go to the Westin in St. John, cost more but worthevery penny
My son & daugher-in-law were married on the Elysian Beach Resort on 05/08/07.. I arrived on 05/05/07 and the hotel staff was extremely unprofessional and rude. The check-in policy is not at all what my reservation letter stated from the company. The letter stated $250.00 deposit at check-in and we had to put a $3,000.00 deposit down. ! I was a hotel manager for years and I never treated my hotel guest like this and never charged them money ahead of time only at CHECK- OUT!!. !
