Pros: Very peaceful, friendly staff, and great breakfast with fresh bread and juice and more.
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, super comfortable. Lovely renovated old home with modern additions and facilities. Great breakfast
Cons: Country views could have been better
7.0 Good
Pros: It was the second time we spend some nights here. First time we had a room facing inner court and very quite. This time we had a room at the corner, so a bit noisy with the gate and the road. The lady of the house is very friendly and understood our problem. Breakfast is wonderful!
Cons: The beds were too hard for us.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet location with nice environment. Old farmer's house totally refurbished , neat and clean. Bonus at breakfast: orange juice was fresh and delicious, nice home made orange cake.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All especially breakfast
Cons: Noting
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A peaceful and quiet oasis. Really nice quinta - old farmhouse with an extension and with a nice garden & swimming pool - too bad we could not use it because of the temperature. Excellent breakfast and very helpfull owner. In spring or summer, this location is even better.
Cons: You need a car to go to a restaurant or any other facility. Small windows in the room. Bed slightly hard, but that seems to be the standard in Portugal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful setting and a gorgeously restored quinta! Located in a small village, it was very quiet. We didn't use the pool but it makes a lovely view even better. The quinta is very close to the Bucaco forest and close to Mealhada for restaurant selections. We opted to buy a few things at the market for a picnic by the pool. Christina was a gracious hostess and breakfast was very good.
Cons: We liked everything!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Large comfortable bed
Cons: Room was rather dark. Access to parking area difficult for larger cars. We had a horrid Jeep! Toilet was designed for disabled person and rather uncomfortable - too high for normal people.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Secluded, quiet, family b&b with a few rooms. All A newly build place in old walls. Spotless. Very friendly service. Located near to Luso, Bussaco and Coimbra.
Cons: WiFi keep dropping out.
Guest House Santa Clara - Coimbra - Building
2
9.5 Excellent (1,493 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Guest House Santa Clara in Coimbra, you'll be just steps from Portugal dos Pequenitos and 12 minutes by foot from Old Cathedral of Coimbra. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money. Very clean facilities. Bed very comfortable. Did not meet staff face to face, but communication via email was excellent.
Cons: No warning to shower regarding water getting extremely hot. A notice regarding this would be helpful to prevent burns.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, good facilities
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were a little earlier than we had said we would be, but someone was there to greet us, I didn't catch her name unfortunately but she was very informative about what to see and places to eat etc, then we were shown to our rooms which were on the 3rd floor with lovely views of Coimbra. The bed in my room were very comfortabe, every where was clean & quiet considering we were so close to the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to everything. Excellent area. Restaurants and grocery store nearby. Microwave and refrigerator available. Spotlessly clean. Everything worked. Hosts very responsive to any needs.
Cons: We didn’t get to stay longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excelent location. Installations in pristine conditions. But, much more. We felt welcome from the beginning. Sofia told us about the city. Where to go. What to see. And several times she made a point that we should feel really at home.
Cons: Nothing we couldn't overcome. For instance, the shower space is small. Usual on European installations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing, relatively new property across the river from the old city. It's just a 10 minute walk across the bridge. In fact, it's better to stay on this side of the river because you get better views of the entire old town instead of staying in the old town. This place is even better if you need car parking because there is a free underground garage only 5 minutes walk from the property. Our room had a view of Coimbra (especially beautiful at night). Staff recommended several places to eat that were excellent. We love Coimbra and this place is a gem. It feels like a small boutique hotel. Also easy to leave luggage safely after checkout.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room and good view from the window and the city is within walking distance.
Cons: Weak wifi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sant Clara guesthouse respects its guest. Even though it is located next to the street, the windows were super soundproof and the shade was perfect. One of the best sleeps ever. The view of coimbra is awesome. Just walk 2 minutes, take photos of the fantastic sunset from the bridge and go on to explore the city. Our room was 100% clean and facilities were modern and cozy. The staff was super nice always available for assistance. It definitely deserves it's high rating.
Cons: Honestly, there is nothing negative to mention. After a long road trip, it was perfect to stay there.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location in lovely town. Very friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Bit noisy. Tea and coffee facilities bit average
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and view
Archisuites - Coimbra - Building

With a stay at Archisuites in Coimbra, you'll be a 4-minute walk from Portugal dos Pequenitos and 11 minutes by foot from Old Cathedral of Coimbra. Featured amenities include a computer station and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the apartment as a late minute booking and were so glad it was available. It is spacious, clean with lovely furnishings and in a great location. We would certainly stay here again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Love the hidden bathroom!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was big, there was complementary porto wine, and the décor of the room is fabulous.
Cons: There was hair in the bathroom in the towels, as well as coffee stain by the cups.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accommodation in a position close to the town. Very good café next door for breakfast. Very good value for money.
Cons: Better directions. It could do with some instructions as regards parking and where the property is.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, modern, nice location, and friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: This was a very functional base from which to explore Coimbra. The location was quiet but not far from the center, and there were some nice touches (the port wine in the room, the option to make tea or coffee, the opportunity to block out the daylight in the mornings. Also, the cleaning lady was very nice!
Cons: Contrary to what the name implies, this is not really a suite. It feels more like a hotel room, since there are several other ArchiSuite rooms off the same entranceway. The entranceway is large but is basically wasted space, since it is not possible to use it as a common area (there is only one chair). Also, the interaction is not at all personalized. It is convenient to access the room with a code, but we missed the option we had in other places to interact with someone from the area. While the company was accessible by phone, this did not replace the personal touch.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, host, design... everything is excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place exceeded my expectations. Location is brilliant, just across the centre.on the other side of the river, which makes for a nice short walk in the morning with wonderful views of the city. Area is not noisy either. Moreover, in the room we found tea and coffee-making facilities and also a carafe of port wine. The place itself was beautifully decorated and the rooms are huge and airy. Will definitely return!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the best one from my Portugal trip. I was not sure what to expect, but the hotel was a real gem! Very easy to find, on a walking distance from most places to see in Coimbra. The interior was amazing to every little detail.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Manager very helpful and upgraded us.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy rooms. We received an upgrade to a suite with jacuzzi due to works in our first room. Nice staff
Cons: Breakfast only in the room which is ok. But the quality was lousy. Only instant coffee ( in Portugal!), thin indudtrial orange juice and joghurt. Worst breakfast during our 16 day Portugal trip. The price of the room would have been wizthout breakfast...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a private apartment (house) with jacuzzi and a perfect view to the city. The price-quality ratio was fabulous (not mentioning the “welcome” sparkling wine).
6.8 Good
Pros: Very nice welcome and great tips for eating
Cons: Appartement was a bit awkward as it had two bedrooms with very tiny bathrooms and a living room that lacked atmosphere. Seemed as if these rooms could be rented separately with a shared kitchen. Getting there with a car is challenging.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The desk staff were wonderful! The little touches such as the welcome drink, the map instructions, recommendations on fado and restaurants, booking a taxi and cookies on leaving - made us feel more like home than guests. We loved the shared lounge/kitchen for breakfast and access to wine glasses, plates coffee tea etc Location was very convenient and close to the university and waterfront. Some uphill steps but to be expected.
Cons: There was some foot noises from the room upstairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly.
Cons: A slight smell of drains when we arrived.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Decor is fun and beautifully executed, staff are lovely, very helpful and welcoming! Service was amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay from the very friendly and professional staff to the luxurious room. They minded our bags until check in time and also brought complimentary champagne and fresh cake as a welcome treat. What a wonderful touch! Breakfast was included and was brought to your room in a beautiful basket with a selection of delicious foods, something for everyone. Close to walk to everything. Would definitely stay again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very friendly staff, great service, comfy room, and the price is more than fair. Recommended!
Cons: If you arrive in Coimbra via train do yourself a favor and take a taxi to the hotel, as it is on a steep hill. We arrived very sweaty and exhausted.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a unique and charming place to stay! The staff at Solar Antigo were absolutely lovely, anticipating our every need and spoiling us with treats of champagne, cake and biscuits. The accommodation is eccentric and fun, filled with impressive details from the choices of taps and door handles to the seriously cool gilt framed mirror television and funky bespoke furniture. The location is wonderful, with panoramic views and the best of the old city just a short stroll away, through characterful narrow streets with gorgeous architecture and mysterious archways that beg to be explored. A little up the hill is Coimbra's botanical garden with ancient trees and a giant bamboo forest to wander through. To the side is Coimbra's impressive university district filled with historic sights, and below is an area of boutique shopping dotted with wine bars and restaurants. This is the perfect place for a memorable get-away, and we will certainly be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Lovely property full of character. Comfortable apartment. Helpful staff. Great for a family.
Sapientia Boutique Hotel - Coimbra - Bedroom

9.3 Excellent (1,125 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Sapientia Boutique Hotel in Coimbra (Coimbra City Centre), you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Old Cathedral of Coimbra and Coimbra University. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Limited parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location right across the street from the university. We got upgraded to a large and beautiful room with a kitchenette and balcony. All of the staff, except one person, were wonderful.
Cons: One staff member was extremely rude
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the unique location, on the hill adjacent to the historic university and just a short walk down (cobbled streets and many steps) to bars, restaurants and shops in town. Loved the contemporary design and facilities of bedrooms (with generous balcony) and communal facilities including dining courtyard, rooftop terrace, lobby breakfast area and bar plus separate reading lounge.
Cons: Arrival staff did not talk to us about all the facilities, luckily we discovered some by chance, however we could have taken better advantage had we known sooner. The hotel hosted private events in their lobby/courtyard and these appeared to be prioritised over guest use of facilities/services, e.g use of in house dining space & courtyard. Staff need better customer relations training to make this spot top notch!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is lovely with a cool courtyard to sit and have lunch or dinner. The restaurant there had great food. It is near the natural history museum which is amazing. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was really nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Coimbra.
Cons: There was nothing about the hotel I didn’t like - the only issue is that it is situated at the top of the hill and Coimbra has very steep hills.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and beautiful. Excellent location. Would highly recommend. The staff that work here are so helpful and kind. Loved loved it!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We LOVED this place! The hotel has a very fresh and funky feel. One of the most unique hotels I've had the pleasure of staying. We had a chance to meet the owner who was a lovely and interesting man. The staff joked around and felt like family. We had a number of issues while we were there that the staff went above and beyond the call for us: First, my husband had an important work call to make, and do a snafu with the room's WiFi, he was unable to do it. The staff quickly came to the rescue and helped him figure out an alternative location. Second, my daughter got sick, and again, the staff jumped to our rescue, helping us with everything we needed. DO NOT MISS THE ROOFTOP DECK. Which looks right out on the city and the university. It's in an absolutely PERFECT location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Cleanliness. Staff. Rooms. Food.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: In front of The Library
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, crispy clean room, modern minimalist with comfort, great staff, spectacular view from roof terrace, cosy central yard, good breakfast
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Very nice roof top terrace, breakfast, competent and helpful staff, complimentary drinks. Location is good, very close to Bibliotheca.
Cons: Very bad WiFi in room A402 (double room), slow, intermittent, but worst of all, no mobile data nor any mobile phone signal in room. Large room, but TV position really awkward and not flexible. View from street level directly into room Upon arrival, staff presented a narrative about the room, that it nearly qualified as a junior suite. Perhaps to sweeten the deal, because I would perhaps recommend the hotel to others but certainly not that specific room. Having been in Portugal for 2 years, and travelled a lot in Portugal, I would argue the hotel and staff is well above average but overall there is a mismatch in price Vs quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was amazing even though we had no view. The only drawback is that it was next to restaurant so if you wanted to sleep early (not our case) it would not be good.

Pros: Lovely accomodation, great hospitality. Generous breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: Availability of the owner
Cons: Only high pillow
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was very big and comfortable, the host is just amazing and the garden is nice. Antonio is a big fan of Bonsai trees so there are a lot of them in the house and especially in the garden.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mimosa: large, comfortable room with great, private bathroom across the corridor- almost like a suite! Good breakfast delivered by sociable host around a communal table so good multilingual chat where possible.
Cons: An electric kettle and a couple of mugs in the kitchen for that late night cuppa. I know, how very English, so not a problem!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly host Antonio. Spacious well maintained rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good bed, good garden, good staff, good room and good breakfast. Place to park. Quiet place.

Cons: Shower room space is narrow. Strong musty smell in the wood closet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were received by the owners, who are incredibly good hosts. They offered us the breakfast although it was not included in our hosting plan. The room was super comfortable and clean and the location is super central in Luso. The decoration and style of the rooms and restaurant are full of taste. It was wonderful to stay here.
Cons: Nothing... Everything was perfect.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The couple who own and manage the little hotel are very warm and helpful. They fully answered all of my questions. The tapas bar/coffee shop ... an absolute delight!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, room.
Cons: No one told us ahead of time where to check in. Having to lock and unlock three doors was annoying. The wifi didn't work in the morning. The shower is too small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts/owners Guida and her husband were eminently helpful, polite and obliging. They were always ready to listen and answer questions with local information. Their cafe which is part of the facility, served great, locally produced wholesome snacks. Their restaurant about 100 metres away is without doubt the best in town. Sea bass and codfish especially recommended.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

Casa Nana - Tocha - Building
8
9.5 Excellent (64 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very nice and the facilities were clean and simple.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had the room for four people. Everything was as expected in a self-respectable B&B - beds were firm, room clean, breakfast good and plentiful, towels changed regularly. Location is suitable for exploring Coimbra, going to the nearby beaches and countryside around or simply enjoying the tranquility and local food. On top of that are Maria and Philip lovely, heartwarming, knowledgeable and helpful hosts, always ready to help with advice (both local and general about Portugal). Four days at Casa Nana was like staying with the family. We would definetly choose to stay there again. Thank you so much!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality. The hosts are kin to make you feel at home and are lovely people.
Cons: All feels cheap and done in the very minimum investment - and it feels like it. Bed and mattress were not comfortable. Heater in the room (no central heating) was the cheapest available small air-blower and made an impossible noise. Cheap towels. It is one of these places where you miss the quality of IKEA that is found in so many other places....
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Maria was very friendly and helpful, a truly wonderful host! We felt very welcomed and she provided with a lot of information about Portugal. The room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. Our family had an excellent stay and we would definitely recommend her place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is in a very nice, peaceful location. A warm welcome is guaranteed and one is made to feel at home immediately. We enjoyed our brief stay very much indeed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful hosts who are well connected to the local community and will bring you to typical places you would never find as a tourist. The place is a bit off the path on the limits of a very small village surrounded by meadows and beautiful wild forest. If you like to relax in a quiet place but still only 5km to endless beaches, this is the place to go. We had almost family-like dinners and a fantastic time with Maria and Philip. Make sure to have a car or transport will be a hassle. You live in the house of the hosts but the guest rooms are on a different floor.
Cons: If you are searching for touristic entertainment facilities, this is rather not the place to go.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Philip and Maria have created a very comfortable, familiar, clean and functional b&b, quiet and delightful, highly recommended.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was great, the hosts are extremely kind, everything was clean even though they have a dog, and the breakfast (you pay a bit extra) is tasty. It even has homemade jams.
Cons: It's a bit of a ride to... well, wherever. :) Other than that, the place is excellent!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and helpful hosts. I had a very nice night's sleep and a relaxing night. So quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spent a wonderful time with Maria and Philip. They are special, kind and welcoming people and we enjoyed a lot met and talk with them. Rooms are large, clean and cozy. The breakfast was excellent, very very good the home made jams. If we will come back to Portugal we will surely come back to Casa Nana.

Pros: Our stay at the Quinta was a special treat for our last night in Portugal. I loved the setting, the woods on the property set the stage and we had a lovely walk there. The staff were all extremely gracious. A massage in the spa completed the experience.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Gardens were beautiful, staff delightful, food was great.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and the welcome were fantastic. Both swimming pools are great, the outdoors one is outstanding. Gardens around the property are beautiful for a walk. Food options inside the Quinta are good.
Cons: Spa rooms are a little outdated and need a renovation (A/C, bathroom...) Breakfast was ok but not superb.
7.0 Good
Pros: they have a few dining options, we went with the 'gourmet' meal, a multicourse deal with a good deal of molecular influence. Don't do it unless that's how you want to spend your entire evening. We started at 7:30, ended around 10:30. They also do a bbq, which I kind of wish is what we'd gone with. Be sure to get the 'tree' dessert, though, quite something. Thorough breakfast.
Cons: longer hours for the internal pools
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good and the staff are amazing
Cons: I was a little disappointed with the facilities at the SPA
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful environment, comfortable rooms and beds, nice swimming pool.

Pros: The location and the interior of hotel is excellent. the dining is one of the best I tried in Portugal. you must definetely try the dining at this hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, attentive and professional.
Cons: The gym was not well equipped. The black tea served for breakfast was of the same quality like on a flight with an aircraft: unenjoyable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Grounds are amazing and history woven into the experience in a nice way. Great staff, great location although not any need to go elsewhere if you just want to kick back.
Cons: Food service was a little slow, although quality was very good.

Cons: Loved it all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully unique property with friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast is excellent and extensive. Nothing at all like a hotel chain. We spent 4 nights and were sad to leave. The town is pleasant and relaxing. It’s only a short walk to the beautiful walking trails and palace hotel in Bussaco forest. Nice plush white terry robes. We will be back !
7.5 Good
Pros: It was different
Cons: The top floor room was too dark and felt creepy. There were birds in at attic and scratched all night. The bed sheets were not cotton and were very hot. Fortunately, after a very bad night she moved us to a nicer room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pretty old house, beautiful decoration, nice breakfast at a big wooden table, lovely swimming pool... A short walk from the center, on a quiet street... Nice place!
Cons: The coffee was problematic. Big thermoses of bad coffee, or a tempermental expresso machine. "A" for effort, but the result was less than perfect. Staffing was also an issue. Very nice people, but not always around, and the key system wasn't clear: the keys were huge, so temptation was to leave them, but then you couldn't get in if no one was home (especially an issue in the afternoon).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you wish to feel as a queen)))
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and value if you’re looking to visit the Palace Hotel and forest. Charming rooms with lots of character. The breakfast was lovely. The pool was nice to dip in after a trip to the forest. Be sure to take the short 10min drive to Mealhada for Leitoes (sucking pig).

Cons: Bed was a little hard!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was great, lots of space and clean. Also the swimming pool is a bonus even as the extanding breakfast, . Walking distance to the center with nice restaurants like pedro del sal. Parking on site is possible. The decoration of the building and rooms is outstanding.
Cons: The room really needs a renovatie. The frame of the windows is rotten, the bathroom, very lage, is old. Using the shower weds the whole bathroom. Als no parasol available near the swimmingpool
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was a very charming building, full of character and beautifully decorated, lovely setting and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming old style house with lots of character. Lovely sorroundings with a swiming pool. Great abundant breakfast. Highly recomended if you want a few days away from city noise.
Cons: I would only recommend placing some shower curtains in the bathrooms.
4.0 Okay
Pros: the decoration was impressive, as was the building and the rooms. It is a luxury villa left by the owners with their stuff inside. It's a piece of luxurious history.
Cons: The caretaker was absent late for check-in and generally the hotel seemed abandoned.
7.2 Good
Pros: Very nice Guest House, typical with magnificent ancient decoration. Very clean and cosy. It is like a castle. My bedroom was big and the view over Luso was nice. Good breakfast for the price I paid.
Cons: Because it is like an ancient castle, it hasn't elevator.
7.6 Good
Pros: The atmosphere and style is great. The room was very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Very quiet (only 3 rooms occupied). Overall, the best accommodation we had on our trip.
5.6 Okay

Pros: The breakfast is excellent! The guest house is very different from traditional hotels. The hotel fells more like an old house that your visiting, and you can feel the life that people lived there with photos and decoration .The hotel is very well situated just a few steps from buçaco, other gardins and near restaurants.

Pros: What I loved about the property was that it was such a hidden gem, we actually passed it the first time looking for the address. It was beautiful inside and out what an unexpectedly large property. The staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful.
Cons: What I didn’t like was that although it was a wonderful location it was out of the way, but I guess that’s also what made it so special.
6.8 Good
Pros: The host George was so friendly and helpful! Thanks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the bar and jazz music throught the day, relaxed atmosphere. The estate is big and well taken care of.
Cons: Maybe the room was too dark, but in the summer that's ok. And no soundproof, but than again it is an old house and that makes it special.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: A fabulous stay in a centenary country house , We enjoyed the warm welcome and company we received from "Jorge", we stayed in the old part of the house which took us to a different time, without leaving aside the communities of a modern bathroom , everywhere our attention was diverted to historical and beautiful details of the objects contained in this house. We particularly enjoyed the different areas provided by the country House and relaxation provided by it.

Pros: Rooms nice and clean.
Cons: José offered welcome drink (champagne) and appetizers upon arrival. In all the quintas we stayed before, this was free of charge, so we didn`t ask about the price. Shock next morning upon departure, he charged us over 80 euros. which was more than a 1 night stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We've spent one week in this Quinta where we felt very welcomed by the hosts. Although there was a problem with the Wi-FI connection in the beginning of our stay, the owner did everything to resolve this problem a.s.a.p. Moreover, the daily breakfast was one of the best we ever had, with thanks to the ladies that prepared this breakfast. This Quinta is also very good located to visit Coimbra and other beautyfull spots such as Praia de Mira, Figueira da Foz, Viseu. We also did a bicycle tour from Viseu to Santa Comba Dao (called Ecopista do Dao, 47km long) in an amazing scenery and going down almost all the time.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Very clean room and only 2 minutes from the beach. A nice lake across from the Hotel and some restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Avenida is very centrally located but tucked away on a quiet cobbled street with character so it really could not be in a better locations! The hosts also run a lovely little cafe right around the corner and were right there to welcome me with a cool drink when I got in with my dog on my bike after a hot day of cycling without shade! They took exceptionally good care of me, my dog, my bike and my dog's bike trailer!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, walking distance to everything. Clean, everything you need. Nothing fancy. Great continental breakfast. Can ask for espresso and happily make for you. large windows that opened to street. Windows are sound proof so don’t worry about noise.
Cons: Nothing I really disliked. Parking off site but close by and easy to use. Shower. Bit small but really not an issue. Staff could be a bit informed about where to source things in local area, but otherwise very helpful and accommodating. Ask for them to turn on air conditioning...they have to do at front desk.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location could not be better.
Cons: Wish it was cleaner(shower) and had better amenaties
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.
Cons: We had stayed at this hotel about 3 years ago and at that time it was quite nice. However this time it was a disappointment. The room had a distinct foul smell of sewage which could not be removed even with the windows open. The smell seemed to intensify with the air conditioner on. When the bidet was drained, it leaked all over the bathroom floor. There were very few outlets in the room and one did not work at all, making charging of internet devices very inconvenient. Will not return to this place in the future. While the location is good, the surrounding areas have become quite neglected.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The location was good. That was it. They did watch my luggage before I checked in so that I could go on a tour. Not much else to like about this place.
Cons: The walls were thin. The noise from outside was disturbing. The shower was small. Not much in the way of amenities. There was only one usable outlet in the room for charging devices. No 24 hour staff and those who were there early in the morning didn't speak English. I do not recommend this place.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I love the location. The rooms were very clean and we had a great view
Cons: Our toilet was malfunctioning. Nothing serious it was just an inconvenient
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a great time. It was not far away from the pedestrian zone and many restaurants and bars. The hotel was clean and the rooms fit perfect for us. The bathroom seemed to be pretty new. So my family enjoyed our stay. We can recomment a stay there.
Cons: Breakfast needs some work - there is room to present it nicer.

Pros: Free safe parking for my motorcycle. Lovely family run place with a decent, traditional evening meal. It's right on the edge of the old town so easy to access by bike, yet only a few minutes walk from the attractions.

Pros: New Property. Great modern building facing the green prairie Mondego landscape. Big and spacious room and bed, with a nice spacious terrace. Very comfortable & clean. Very good jacuzzi and mini SPA. Great restaurant, extremely well cooked portuguese food with a gourmet touch. Awesome pool, but unfortunately the weather was not warm enough for a swim outside. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Cons: All was perfect!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and good location
Cons: Restaurant Service
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, not the best I ever had in a hotel but very good nonetheless. Dinner was very cheap for what was offered (12 euro per person excluding drinks), while the food was yummy. It is a small hotel, which means that it won't be crowded. Our room was on the first floor, it had a huge balcony facing the pool, a more than king size bed, and the bathroom was one of the best I've ever seen in a hotel. The shower especially was great, and spacious enough for someone to lie down. Plenty of parking.
Cons: The biggest selling points for this hotel are the exterior pool and the spa. Unfortunately, dues to the time of year the pool had the filter turned off and so was unusable. The sauna/steambath were broken as someone had broken a door. I would like to have been offered something in compensation for this because I was really looking forward to these amenities, a free massage would've been nice. Cocktail selection is good, but they could've been better prepared for the price. Specifically, my old fashioned could've used a bit more simple syrup. The gym is one of the best equipped I've seen in hotels, however, a lot of dumbbells were missing and while the gym has a bench press rack, there are no bars or weights. I suggest that the hotel either replaces the missing equipment or removes the rack entirely to make more space.
7.5 Good
Cons: Food and beverage was very pricey.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was nice, although the bed was a bit hard. The best thing about this place was the receptionists we dealt with. They were so friendly and helpful.
Cons: Food in the restaurant was awful. My husband had giant prawns as a starter, which he had to eat with his fingers, but there was no finger bowl. He did enjoy them, but it went downhill from there. He had a tasteless fish with a tasteless bread sauce. I had a salad that turned out to be a small handful of salad leaves with a few cubes of apple and almost non-existent nuts, in such a heavy dressing, it just turned it into a limp, soggy mess. My main course was a piece of pork that was mainly fat and gristle. I picked out a few slivers of meat, but left the rest. It came with asparagus and "roast potatoes" (chips), swamped in a sauce that looked like thick beetroot soup. It was horrible. We spent a week in this part of Portugal, and stayed in many hotels of all different prices, and this was our worst meal. Also, even in much more expensive hotels, there was local Douro wine starting at €10. Here the cheapest Douro wine was €20 - why? I also hated the shower in the room, which was a "rain" shower that came out of the ceiling. Why do hotels think these things are good? I like to run the shower for a couple of minutes before I get in, so the water is warm, but it wasn't possible with this. I leant in to turn the shower on and suddenly I was being drenched by the cold water coming from the ceiling. Whoever designed it needs to be made to use it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Extremely luxurious hotel to a quite reasonable price. Very much surprised with everything.
Cons: Only downside was the location...not very pretty sight from the main road and not very attractive area.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Provided gluten-free bread as requested for the first few days, but did not have any left on the last two days.
Cons: Running out of gluten-free bread. It would have been easy to go to a near-by shop to buy more.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Quite large spaces for a 4 stars and the decoration is very stylish.
Cons: The ceiling shower is complicated to handle. A chance there is a traditional system available as well and it would be great if you could use it separately.
