10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our family fully enjoyed our entire weeklong visit with Angoville44. Our hostess and host were incredibly gracious and accommodating! The rooms were spotless, the decor beautiful, and the breakfast first class! Jacqueline and Eraldo make a fabulous team and genuinely want to ensure your visit is memorable. The historical dimension with the relationship to the 506th PIR and the proximity of the church and its history with the WWll medics treating all wounded, added significance to the location of Angoville44. Thank you Angoville44!!
Cons: Can not think of a thing we did not enjoy! All was awesome!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They were both so friendly and helpful. Even with the language barrier, we communicated just fine. I didn’t know / read about the history behind the property until I got there. Loved the entire experience!!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely owners in a great setting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the entire property, The owner are beyond nice! Our room was a 3 level accommodation. We had a small kitchenette . Sink , small refidgerator with freezer, a coffee pot with coffee ,cream and sugar provided. We had a hot water kettle but( ours left stuff floating in the water so I didnt use it..) there also was a table a chair set,, then we walked up the stairs to the bedroom and bathroom Double sinks , very small shower. The next floor was where the twin beds were for our teens... Everything was very tastefully decorated and VERY CLEAN... Soap provided and cups. The owners are super nice. My husband and twin teens took the tour in the WW2 Jeep. They loved every moment of it and learning the history of the area... We stayed two nights but had we known how awesome the property was we would have stayed four, it would have been worth the drive from the other locations we visited.
Cons: I would like to have had a fan for the bedroom and one for the 3rd floor.. I was very hot in the summer and keeping the windows open didnt help to cool things down.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would highly recommended this B&B to WWII history enthusiasts. Domaine Airborne is a converted 17th century farm with very comfortable accommodations. But what we found really special was the military theme, the extensive collection of military memorabilia, and our wonderful host Carli, who was very passionate and knowledgeable of WWII history. He took us on a tour of the area in his original 1940’s Jeep and told us about the paratroopers who had been dropped in the neighboring fields. We visited local buildings that had been converted into hospitals and drove by a field that was a temporary cemetery. Utah beach was a 10 minute drive away and Dead Man’s corner (which had a great museum and flight simulator which the kids found very exciting) was 5 minutes away. The family room was very reasonably priced and was very clean and comfortable. I’d traveling with a larger family, consider booking two rooms and you will have barracks 1 all to yourself.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a well presented themed property close to Utah Beach. The whole experience is great and the level of detail and presentation faultless.

Pros: Beautiful property remote but near Utah Beach and Saint Marie du Mont. Great launching point for seeing the D day sites. I found lots of running routes from the property. The restaurant there was a gem. Not many other food options in the surroundings, but we were happy to eat each meal at Le Grand Hard.
Cons: Not many food options other than the restaurant there due to the rural setting.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Enormous room, Quiet country location, spacious outdoor areas, friendly staff.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and her husband were very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. They deserve all the success they get.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are situated in converted barn buildings and therefore feel more like chalets or lodges than hotel rooms. The rooms themselves are large and spacious, very clean and welcoming. The receptionist Hilde speaks very good english and is very helpful. The owners also run a fantastic small restaurant which has 80+ bookings every night! There is a small games room for children and there is also a hotel for horses behind the square. The hotel is only 3km from Utah Beach landing museum.
Cons: I wouldn't change a single thing about the hotel itself but I would say if you are planning to travel without your car and have specific plans please get in touch with Elsa at the hotel for help with travel around the area as taxis and transport in the area is virtually non-existent and totally unreliable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, very tranquil location and extremely relaxing. Lovely onsite restaurant serving excellent cuisine. Throughly recommend a stay here
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super location, friendly staff and excellent restaurant We are going back

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Clos Castel exceeded our expectations. Steve and Hazel are wonderful proprietors who made us feel like family in their home. They were friendly, accommodating, helpful, resourceful, willing to provide suggestions - couldn't have been more appreciated. The rooms are decorated beautifully and are spacious. The little extras (coffee and tea) in the room were fantastic! The linens were soft and plush - and all was extremely clean and cared for. Following our visit to Clos Castel, we all decided that our next journey to Normandy would HAVE to include an extended stay - it was that good.
Cons: We are sad that we didn't spend more time there and won't make that mistake again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently situated about 35 miles from Cherbourg, this is an ideal stop if you have arrived in France in the evening or are planning to catch a morning ferry to the UK. The accommodation is on the edge of a very quiet small village; its rural position really made us feel our holiday had begun. The English hosts are very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and tidy.
Cons: The night we stayed was unseasonably cold and it would have been useful to have some heating in the bedroom and particularly the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hazel and Stephen were great. They had suggestions for what to see in the area. Hazel even put together a breakfast to go when we had to leave extra early.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our room was in the top of the house (up in the beams) and lived up to expectations from the photo's seen. Loved the wood - beams / floor / stairs. Large family room with comfortable bed. Tea and coffee to hand, with fresh milk. Views through the Velux roof windows, out over the farm and countryside. Good sized bathroom and shower. As expected, hot water took 'a bit' to get to the top of the house. 'Copybook' French petit dejeuner + home made yoghurt and goats cheese - all deeeelishus ! Great to see all the goats and how the cheese is made. On top of all the above, our host Martine
Cons: NOT what I didn't like, but an observation. To get to our lovely room up in the loft, with the views etc. one has to negotiate two flights of stairs.

Pros: The room and bathroom were Immaculately clean. It was in a quiet lane, a little further from the village. So it was very quiet at night. Lovely decorations. Friendly host. So close to Utah Beach, we could almost walk there.
Cons: The stairs from bedroom to toilet are steep. Be careful at night. And it was a bit difficult to find. At the property it only says 'Chambre d'hôte" without their names. Because the lady wasn't there yet, we were confused whether it was the right place. She arrived shortly after that though and made us feel very welcome.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house, stunningly renovated, with extensive attention to detail. Well located, great breakfast.
Cons: 6 PM check in is too late. We just did a two week trip in Normandy and most B&B's allowed us to check in anytime from 2 PM onwards. Plus, there was no lock on the door of the room, which is not appropriate given how expensive the room was.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nathalie does everything to make one feel at ease in a lovely setting. Our room was perfectly arranged with all the creature comfort items necessary. Breakfast choices were excellent also.
Cons: Check-in is a bit restrictive, especially to walkers like my wife & I.

Cons: When we arrived we could not get in. The property had electric gates. The gardener finally let us through but Nathalie could not be found. It was frustrating as we had to wait a while but possibly there might have been a misunderstanding.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay in the detached accommodation. We liked the separate entrance and loved our morning conversations with the owner, with our limited French and her limited English.
Cons: Not really a dislike but the towels provided were a little on the old side(well washed). Also, as we were there for five nights a little more variety for breakfast would have been appreciated but it was a continental breakfast as was advertised.

Very quiet area. (You must bike/drive to Carentan for meals ?) Historic property features stone and wood and period pieces. Lovely.
Cons: Could not find lights for bathroom tub area. Could use a power strip in main area. Would recommend using a shampoo dispenser (attached to wall) rather than tiny packet.

Pros: Lovely location, owner very friendly (doesn't speak English), peaceful
Cons: No tea/coffee making facilities in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is lovely, Madame was very friendly and helpful, despite our limited French and her limited English. We stayed in the annexe, lovely comfy beds and fabulous shower. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. We would stay again. The actual house is quite beautiful, friendly large dog and all!

7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel manager/receptionist was very helpful. It was easy to park close by and the hotel is in an excellent location in Carentan.
Cons: The room was very small and on the second floor, access to which was via a steep spiral staircase and the lights did not stay on long enough for us to reach the correct floor before we were plunged into darkness! This would not have been an issue had I not been travelling with my 91-year-old sister-in-law. She can manage stairs but not in the dark.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: No air conditioning. One window with view of brick wall (painted) with no fly wire. Mosquitoes coming in through window at night (hot, must leave window open as no air conditioning). Blood on pillows and sheets next morning from slapping mosquitoes all night. Unchanged pillow slips and sheets with mosquito blood stains. No air conditioning.... No refrigerator. No tea or coffee making facilities. Lots of winding steps to carry heavy luggage up and down.
7.0 Good
Pros: Convenient to center. Good communication by email.
Cons: They didn’t tell us no one would be there to check in on Sunday. They sent an email but only after we’d left our other place that morning so we didn’t get it in time. We got in by calling. There was no where to store bikes except the hall by the entrance.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome from a cheery landlord. Basic facilities ,but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay especially if you're on bicycles where secure storage is provided. No restaurant , but situated near numerous other eateries.. Basically you get exactly what you pay for. The breakfast was fine.
Cons: Nothing possibly to dislike at those very reasonable prices.

Pros: This was a super deluxe place to stay , Chris and Sue are a weatlh of information about the area and things to do and very helpful , Chris is also a Tour Guide for the D-Day landings. Breakfasts were extra special , the room was massive ! all in a beautiful old Farmhouse . Location was perfectly placed for all that the area has to offer , very quiet secluded area yet near enough to other towns and Villages with resturaunts and bars.
Cons: Everything was perfect

Pros: The room we were given was a disabled room it was good apart from the only mirror was in the bathroom, the bathroom was fantastic and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The room needs some TLC to compliment the old building it’s in, also old building quite cold.
Cons: The WiFi was horrendous, we asked about and was told nothing I can do. The establishment seems to be more focused on the restaurant they have than the rooms, that seems to be their main focus. Also as soon as we checked in we was asked would you like to eat in the restaurant.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Our room was on two levels wasn’t ideal, small bath towels, very small bar, staff could have been a bit more friendly.

Pros: Great location. Quaint. Cross between a hotel and bed and breakfast. Second time staying there in three years. Staff was nice.
Cons: Room right on highway. Loud. No AC meant bugs and traffic noise came in when windows were open. Could use tower fans in the rooms.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean and the food was excellent. Staff were so friendly and welcoming.
Cons: Signage on property hard to see at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The gracious staff welcomed us from the moment we booked, provided detailed messages about our room arrangement. We also received a phone call providing the details of our stay, very thoughtful! The hotel is co-located with a restaurant, our family loved dinner! The room was very spacious and had plenty of room for our family. The hotel was about a 15 minute drive to Omaha Beach, providing a great starting point for our Normandy adventure. Only stayed here one night, but we would choose again for longer stays in the future.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Didn't have breakfast
Cons: The unkempt areas outside the hotel. Poor patio furniture, old parasol base lying around. As it was the only area to sit out we thought this could have been better presented and attended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was excellent and good value for money. We arrived after a long cycle journey wet, cold and demoralised. The warmth and helpfulness of the staff is something I shall never forget. Quite simply they were marvellous. We were able to order dinner, despite the fact that the kitchen was on the point of closing. The family who run the hotel spoke English which was itself a god-send as we had some tricky technical issues to deal with. Our room was comfortable and breakfast was great. My cycle buddy had a problem with the seat post on his bike - one staff member opened up the hotel's tool box and produced three different metal files which helped resolve the issue. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. I really recommend this hotel.
Cons: It could not have been better. My only surprise is that it was possible to book a room the same day when we realised that we would not make our original objective.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Small room but with all basic requirements covered. Very comfy beds and excellent shower. 'Tired' work surfaces with scuffs to décor. Opening window a bonus with view of 'greenery'. Out of town - drive in required.
Cons: Room too small for moving about. If the tv offered is satellite broadcast why no English programmes, even if it has to be subtitled!
6.8 Good
Pros: Three twin beds, a preschoolers bed and a queen bed in a private room.
Cons: Strong cigarette smoke odor in my he room and hallway that was not mitigated by staff members' efforts to freshen air
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Didn't have breakfast whilst at the hotel
Cons: A bus load of English cyclists, most inconsiderate people I've come into contact with.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: It’s proximity to Carentan train station
Cons: Room in poor state of repair, plug sockets looked dangerous, no curtains at window, bathroom awful - holes in wall, damp patches on ceiling. Not very clean, pervading smell of old cooking oil.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Kitchen filthy. No-one ate in restaurant.
Cons: Room awful. No tea making facilities. No furnishings. No plugs in bathroom.
7.5 Good
Pros: the food was good value
Cons: the shower was broken and dirty
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Very old needs much modernisation. Breakfast very poor
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: There was nothing I liked about this only leaving it was smelly, pokey, dull, the food I wouldn't give to my dog
Cons: Everything could have been better if you had a box of matches and some petrol
5.5 Okay
Cons: The support for the wash basin was broken and the wash basin emptied extremely slowly. There was no plug and the shower head did not fit properly so it was necessary to hold it whilst showering. Noise from other rooms as the partition walls are very thin. The bathroom had mould on the ceiling, the room was tiny and mosquitoes in the room.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location was handy as we wanted a one night stay in Carentan. The car park behind the hotel was handy but it was locked over night so just as well we didn't have plans of leaving before 8 in the morning. The lady/owner was very nice as was the decor in the restaurant.
Cons: Rooms were painted with a battleship grey paint, the fixtures and fitting were very DIY. There was no wardrobe or hooks to hang any clothes in my room, I didn't have any towels either which I hadn't realised until the morning and the staff had not arrived when I needed them (so no shower). It was all just a bit slap-dash. Such a shame as the building is beautiful and location was amazing right in the heart of the town.
6.3 Good
Cons: Tired
4.5 Okay
Pros: Only bed was okay nothing more.
Cons: Picture is completely different than reality. WiFi didn't work. Car parking - it is only small place back of hotel and kitchen. There were a lot of boxes and other waste so park there is impossible for biger cars. Hotel is above restaurant and the same staff is working for restaurant and hotel guests. One person worked for both so she hadn't time for hotel guests. Resturant was more important becasue people were waiting for meals. Toilet and shower are in very small and one plastic room/cabin so it is hard even make turn there.
7.5 Good
Cons: Bathroom was small.
