Close to town, parking, friendly staff, large room Facilities not as expected for 4* - eg no tea/coffee/mini bar in room, TV channels limited.
It was quiet, peaceful, with delightful staff and excellant standard of food. The hotel was built recently and furnished in a very unusual style, mainly white, grey with a splash of red. The whole ambiance was relaxing and away from the hub of the nearby fishing village, but near enough to walk to. We liked the whole atmosphere and good facilities. It has an indoor swimming pool and a hot tub outside, which cost extra. Maybe, the avalibility of the hot tub should be included in the price.
Friendly staff - nothing too much trouble It is a bit pricey
the bedroom was very comfortable and well-maintained and the reception staff were helpful and friendly I did not like the restaurant. The menu was far too limited for the price and the cooking was only just adequate
Location in a beautiful town, close to the sea-front. Nice garden. Very pleasant staff Difficult to see how the hotel justified a four star rating - very little provided in room, no mini-bar, no water, no tea/coffee facilities. No newspaper service offered. TV limited to a few French terrestrial channels - no international news access. Decoration in floor to ceiling white a little hard to take. Hotel is difficult to find - total lack of signage a real suurprise in France.
Very clean and good location. Lack of surfaces to place books etc and no coat hooks
cleanliness and good sized room. Breakfast buffet poor especially when it costs 18 euros per person. Dinner menu at 39 euros for three courses very disappointing, only eat there if you have a poor appetite and lots of money!!
The breakfast was very good.
Excellent breakfast, comfortable clean and spacious room with a good view. Good car parking.A very easy drive (1 hour) from Calais. The Sunday morning market in St Valery sur Somme was a real bonus for our weekend visit. A selection of first class restaurants close by and lots of outdoor activities around St Valery means that we will return to the Hotel Picardia in the near future. Absolutely no complaints
The hotel is in a good position for sight seeing in the area. The hotel is very basic, no luxuries but clean and tidy.
the location is excellent. The breakfast too was very good with lots of choice and buffet so it was easy to help yourself. The room was warm but sparsely furnished. We stayed in the annexe across the courtyard which made me feel a bit like an outsider although there was another room there.
It is very comfortable, easily accessible and conveniently near a parking space. Everything is excellent but it will be preferable if at breakfaxt buffet, coffee and hot drinks are served by staff at the table. Clients normally likes their coffee hot; when serve at the buffet table, it does not render the same pleasure.
The location and view was fantastic, as was the food. In the neighbourhood there are some very nice places to visit (Ault, St. Valery and Dieppe).
Excellent location on top of the cliffs. Nice spacious room, nicely decorated in African lodge-style, spacious bathroom with bath (also for standard room). The bed was very good. Lovely surroundings. Very quiet in the evenings and at night. Nice little garden to relax in by the hotel. Close to lovely villages like le Treport. Possibility to make nice walks up the cliffs, beach and in the forest. The excellent location and room make this hotel well worth the visit. The quality of the food in the restaurant was okay but not excellent. For the high prices you'd expect better food. Breakfast at €16 a person too expensive. No fridge or minibar in the room. No other restaurants available in Bois de Cise.
The bedroom was a delight Having to wait 5 minutes for the 4th main course to arrive, why did the kitchen not hold back the other 3
The hotel was beautifully located on the cliff overlooking the gorgeous panaramic view of Le Cise bay which is completely stunning! We took the Junior suite and after a hard cycle from Honfleur we arrived to find a bottle of champagne chilling in the room which was a real treat! We enjoyed a really gourmet, fabulous dinner that evening and a tasty breakfast to stoke us up for the days cycle ahead (we were working our way from Cherbourg to Calais). The hotel room was picturesque and really modernly decorated - very aesthetic! Looking forward to a return visit! The staff were generally very nice and chatty and helpful a few though were not.
The location is beautiful and easily accessible from Calais. We were in an executive double room which was a good size with an excellent view over the sea from double glass doors. There was a balcony but it provided the only access to three rooms, so it was not private. The people next door had to walk through our bit to get into their room. They were very discreet and tried not to look into our room - but we needed to close the curtains sometimes! The decor was light and bright and the shower was great. Staff were friendly and did their best to accommodate us especially when our phone and WIFI didn't work. We arrived just as the restaurant had stopped serving lunch. People were still eating so we asked for a drink - we hadn't stopped on our journey from Calais. We were told no, as this was a restaurant not a bar. We went for a walk as our room wasn't ready, to see if we could get a drink, but there is nothing in the area. When we got back the waiter, who showed us to our room said the nearest place to get a drink was 15 minutes away. (It is actually a 5 minute drive). I speak French so he hadn't misunderstood. We asked for room service and he said he would send his colleague to us. Nobody came and the phone in our room did't work, so we went out and didn't bother with hotel services again. Reception was manned by staff doubling up jobs.
