The car we got , a Link& Co was great. Drop off in Palermo was super easy. Pick up in Catania was stressful where our flight was delayed 10 hours and efforts to contact the car rental agency were unsuccessful where no one answered the phone over 20 attempts and there was no other means of contact. Rental agent feigned sympathy but then demanded we pay more for our rental even though it was for less time on the basis that the rental contract had been voided by our late arrival. Started by demanding 25E a day more but ended up charging 65E more than contract. Not a great way to start family vacation.

Pickup in airport great guy Rodriguez who gave us loads of advise. Easy walk to car simple pickup. Easy drop off very pleasant lady checked over car and gave us receipt to prove all OK. Excellent and would recommend. Driving the car back we went to the wrong drop off there are 2 so perhaps a simple map in each car of where to go for drop off in airport

I was quoted a higher price in person than I was when i reserved the through a secondary service. I was then told the car wouldn’t be ready for another hour even though they had a car available for me when I received the direct quote. I was given a car with significant exterior damage. Avis accused me of contributing to the existing damage after my return of the vehicle and charged me an additional $2.7K for an originally $300 rental. Horrible customer service.

Worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. They gave away my car that I had reserved because I had to wait in their own line that took 2 HOURS. The man was rude and said it was our own fault we has to wait in line 2 hours. Then trying charging us double the online price. Budget at catania airport is the biggest scam I’ve ever experienced and I’m so happy we just said no to the car and figured it out on our own.

1. Drop-off location at the parking in from of airport doesn't issue a car, only pickup 2. Terminal location is not listed on google maps 3. 20$ airport fee never mentioned during booking 4. Car wasa booked for 12pm, we arrived at 2:40pm it was not ready, waited 20 minutes and they give different car on manual gear, not automatic as booked (they are not paying attention), eventually exchanged fro automatic. 5. Booked Fiat 500L, but was given Opel Grandland

Check in went well and was easy. The car I was given had a number of dents and scratches. When I spoke to the agent, he assured me that all the damage was noted on the contract that was handed to me. Despite this, I took pictures and a video of the car at pick up. Unfortunately, because of an early flight, we had to use the key drop box and were not able to return the car to a live agent (so that we could confirm there was no new damage). Again, I took pictures and a video of the car just in case. A couple of hours after dropping off the car, I received an e-mail telling me there was new damage for which I would be charged. The picture they sent shows damage that is not there in my pictures or video. We decided to go with Hertz because we thought it was a reputable company. However, we were left disappointed. Now, we have to spend our time and energy disputing these additional charges.

Due to an early flight, we had to drop off the car off hours without real-time validation of the car’s condition. We received an email claiming of a right front wheel scratch damage to the car however we captured a time stamped detailed video of the car’s condition upon pick up. The video clearly illustrates the “damage” was present before we rented the car. it is frustrating that we now have to waste our time challenging fraudulent charges. Luckily we have supporting evidence but would not recommend this Hertz location to anyone as a result.
