Charges

Cons: The car was advertised for around $300.00 for time in Dominican Republic. They won't rent without liability charges accepted. Total was $530.00. Will not rent again. Cheaper to take $100.00 cab and rent in Cabrera.

Reservation but NO car

Pros: There was nothing to like about this experience!

Cons: When I arrived to pick up my car the agent told me that there were no cars available. Despite having a reservation I was informed that I was stuck with no car and wouldn't be able to make it to my next destination. I had hotels booked and tours organized but was stuck with no way to get there. Hertz's policy of making a reservation but not honoring the intention is terrible!!

Cons: When I arrived to pick up my car the agent told me that there were no cars available. Despite having a reservation I was informed that I was stuck with no car and wouldn't be able to make it to my next destination. Pros: Either Allianz lied when I rented car on internet about insurance ... or the Budget Employee lied when I picked the car up. Allianz said I was covered in full for $100 for the period, but employee forced me to cancel Allianz policy buy his insurance that was 400% higher.

Cons: Please figure out how to make things consistent and honest for your clients. I feel used and I no longer Trust Budget. False advertising is what brought me to this rental from Budget. I doubt that I will ever rent from Budget again in my life.

Cons: The rental car center tried to scam me out of additional money from my credit card claiming I made additional wear and tear to the Hood of the car with additional scratches I deliver the car in the same condition that I received it yet Dominican republic is trying to rip me off and charge my American Express card more money for false claims

Cons: This is the second time we have reserved a car online with Budget and had to upgrade once we arrived. We went from $135 to $500. The SUV we reserved was comparable to a Nissan Rogue. My mother in law owns a Rogue, and the rental waiting for us was not a similar size. We upgraded to a third seat, and paid more for 'comfort'. The third seat didn't have any leg room. I had to literally sit sideways. I doubt a car seat would've fit. It was Nissan SUV that we have never heard of. Then we found out that our insurance purchased online wouldn't help us if something happened right away. We would have to pay Budget upfront, and get reimbursed from the insurance company on our own. They allowed us to cancel our policy 1 hr before picking up the car. We didn't realize this policy wouldn't cover us immediately until we picked up the car. We paid $11 per day online. We ended up having to pay Budget $13 per day, and $4 for tire/glass per day. This has been super frustrating both trips in a foreign country!

Pros: The car fit our belongings.

Cons: The liability insurance we bought was invalid in the DR. We had to purchase one at the counter that was 4 times the price. It took a while to get ahold of the company that we bought from and ask for a refund. The car also smelled of smoke which caused allergies.

Pros: Upon Arrival @ pick up location I was informed the car would be triple the original quoted and paid for price, I am unsure if its corporate policy, bait and switch or staffing issue, however, completely unacceptable; I did not get rental and presently fighting at present. I would stay far away!

Worse rental company ever rip off

Pros: There was nothing to like about this rental company I did my reservation on the Internet before I left for my vacation to Porta Plata DR as I arrive to pick up my rental they tell me the insurance for the rental i purchase on the Internet was not valid in there country and the price I was expected to pay with my reservation was not honored which was $74 and was forced to pay $280 so my vacation was not ruin and from what I was told by the manager they are aware of the situation that is happening on the Internet but that's how they get people to rent cars and then change the price as once you arrive knowing that you'll be Force to rent a car without a reservation at full maximum price I recommend no one to use this rental company for them having the knowledge of what's going on the Internet I was not the only one at the rental company with the same issue we all end up paying more than what we expected to from our reservation

Cons: To be in a different country with a car That had brake light on no washer fluid no gas in the car I damage vehicle in front back left and right as soon I got the car I had to go put gas and air in the tire I was in a country I don't speak the language and I'm forced to pull over on the side of the road to find a gas station and a tire store worst car rental company ever ECONOMY is not for the people is just a scam to make money to be aware of a problem and you're just trying to benefit from the worst experience I have a head with a rental company in a different country tried to not use them at all if possible the would just take your money

The place was closed!

Cons: they gave us a car that had a flat spare tire. When confronted with that fact they just said to call the office if we had any problems. Also we were forced to buy liability insurance. you must return the car with the same amount of gas in the tank or they will charge you twice of gas on the market or make you go fill the tank the way it was when you picked it up.

Pros: Not much

Cons: It took a while to process the paperwork. Then, I was informed that my vehicle size is not available, and I will get a bigger vehicle for the same price for a day - afterwards I would have to change it or get charged extra. Alternatively, I can keep the vehicle for $3 a day more. I chose that - simply to avoid hassle. When the vehicle pulled up, I was amazed at its shape - not very clean and beat up all around. AAC didn't work well, which is not easy in tropics.

Take pictures of the car before accepting it

Cons: Walked around the car with the agent and she marked about 10-12 spots where there was damage. We specifically discussed two areas - a dent in the drivers door and a scratch on the passenger side rear door. She made a small mark on the form but did not show it as a 'scratch' but this is what she did for everything else so i didn't really think about it. Upon return a different agent said the scratch was not shown on the form and that i must have done it. He called the other agent who had done the form a week earlier and she "didn't remember" if the scratch was there. I was leaving puerto plata in two hours and he said he couldn't resolve it so i had to leave having no clue as to if and what they were going to charge me for damage i did not cause. In my opinion this is a scam and my only recourse is to disputer whatever they charge on my card. BEWARE

Cons: Car was not ready upon arrival. They had to give us a ride to our hotel then deliver it later on. The car was 3 1/2 -4 hours late to be given to us. No offer was made to compensate us. If we would have brought it back 3 1/2 hours late would they have expected us NOT to compensate them?

Pros: The pick up was poor,, after Iwas ready to pay the amaunt that I was told online, the nationa's employee told me I had to pay another 35 dollars (for some type of insurance that he told me was Mandatory ) which I found strange since I had rented cars in the DR before and I have never been charged anything extra. Car was clean and it was what I was told at time of booking. Other than that and the same guy keeping me waiting for like 30 min everything else went food.

Cons: Pick up took almost 2 hours. They forced me to get coverage that I didn't need seeing as though I purchased additional coverage that covered me in Dominican Republic AND my credit card covered me too. They said they didn't have my reservation, then said they don't have my car, then mysteriously the car I reserved and needed showed up. When it did she told me I HAD to take all coverage from them to get into the vehicle and that my card doesn't cover it and neither does the additional insurance I purchased. No I did not rent an exotic car, it was just a Tahoe. This was the WORST rental experience I've ever had and was definitely taken advantage of.

Cons: The fact that upon arrival my reservation was not the same and was asked to leave a $ 1,000 hold on my account I thought was outrageous especially after asking if I could see it in writing which the sales rep denied and continued to ask for large amount to hold. Insurance rate was also way too high.. which made me feel like if I didn't include they would've sent someone around to cause damage and I'd be force to pay.. Definitely had qualities of a scam... All in all, I did not go further with transaction and had to use a completely different rental company on the spot in order to rent a vehicle. Two thumbs down!!

Cons: Long wait for pickup and pressured to get lots of insurance. Couldn't find the drop off location at a different airport and their phone was disconnected. Was charged more than double with no receipt emailed to me as promised, and no response to my online inquiry beyond telling me they charged me $11

Pros: At the counter I was surprised to learn that I must purchase VERY expensive insurance option to rent the vehicle. This was previously undisclosed. The cost of the insurance was higher than the cost of the vehicle.

Cons: The disclosure of the rule must happen at the time of booking with an option to select the insurer online. Making your customers captive leaves very bad taste.

Pros: Nothing. I was ripped off and lied to.

Cons: They would not rent me the car for the price I agreed to online. They were forcing me to use their insurance even though i had my own insurance, which doubled the price. When I returned it they said I “crashed” the car and made me pay $100 to fix a tiny scratch which i definitely did NOT do!

Old cars

Pros: Nothing

Cons: The first explorer broke down that suv was 8 years and 80,000 miles noise and banging around on the road. They then gave me a midsize suv I was stuck with until I returned to the airport to swap that out for a full size suv. This was again an 10 year old vehicle witch stunk and the seats were locked in position .I was then forced to upgrade to a 12 passenger van. again another old vehicle with 80,000 miles and all cars were extremely banged up. If you want a worthy vehicle go elsewhere because Europe car is the worst. No customers service no assistance and no support.

Cons: The estimated price for two weeks rental was $280, but when we came to pick up the car from the airport total price was estimated close to $800. If we knew this before, we would search for better deal. We ended up taking taxi and finding different company to rent from.

Pros: NOTHING , HORRIBLIE customer service rude. not offering price u book on internet when get there a bunch off crooks work there.

Cons: they change price on me twice , they want me to add on more insurance already paid for . so they lost two sales that day because my cousin had a van also reserve there so we went to avis next door and took two 12 passnedger vans.
