Pros: It went quickly. The car was optioned up.Cons: They try to nickel and dime you over everything. They said there was a $5 (approx.) charge to activate the satellite radio. When I got in the car, satellite was on. I doubt they could turn it off. THE WORST: At drop off, no one was manning the return booth. They had a sign that directed us to leave the car unlocked and the keys in it. The sign said that I responsible for the car for the the next 48 hours. UM, NO. What was I going to do? Should I cancel my flight so I can babysit the car? Should I find someone else to take the car and return it later when someone is there and pay for the extra days? They don’t get to lay that responsibility on me by deciding not to have adequate staffing.

Cons: Very disappointed, at time of pick up I paid ahead for gas, it was not explained to me whatsoever that the price may change depending on the size of tank of the car, I had a midsize and in the midsize parking area was a pick up truck, upon return the truck because of the size of tank I was charged almost an additional $25.00 -$30+, (i’d have to actually calculate it with the receipt), the check-in of vehicle specialist recommend I talk to the front desk, I went to the front desk shared my displeasure. The front desk assistant was the same lady that checked me in 3 to 4 days prior and gave no real concern I told her it was very misleading And that she had not shared with me whatsoever the pay a head for gas would be depending on vehicle and size of tank. I ended up spending maybe close to $60 and only drove 162 miles. Very very disappointing with how Alamo handled this, I will choose to not rent from Alamo again. Cons: I will never look at Hertz as one of the first companies I rent from. I had to make a change because of a family emergency and not only did the change get messed up -- booked at the wrong location. When I called back to straighten the location out, I was informed that the upgrade would cost $455.00 more -- for 2 extra days. I cancelled the reservation immediately and one of your competitors not only helped me get a car, but gave me a better rate than I got from Hertz in the first place. Extremely poor customer service and many of my friends and family were aware of how I was treated. Won't forget it either.

I reserved a car, was charged for optional insurance, amd no car!Cons: When I got there they did not have any cars for me, none! And because it was so late, it was impossible for me to rent one somewhere else. Pros: The counter was closed prior to the scheduled closing time. We were unable to pick up our rental under this reservation and had to check nearby counters that were still open to try to find an available rental. The entire fiasco ended up costing us more than double the original reservation.
