Pros: Never received a car from this rental place.
Cons: Nothing, I never took the car out but Avis/Buget took my money. I ended up using taxi and uber my whole trip. Then when I got back home they charged my credit card for a car I never received. I called Avis/Buget which told me there is nothing they can do cause the facility in Brazil is independently owned. I'm not disputing it with the credit card company. So be careful when you rent from them.

Pros: It was a good value for the money. The car was a good car
Cons: It was the worse experience because I was 120 miles from the office when my car broke down and nobody in the 24 hours office answered the phone. The phone number for emergency also does not work. I needed another car and I had to drive back to Rio to get one. I lost one day dealing with this problem. Even if it is good value for the money I would never rent from them again.

Got SCREWED - Don't rely on Budget Car Rental.
Cons: Our flight was delayed from LA to Brazil. When we got to the rental car desk late they had canceled our reservation. Lucky for us the rental car kiosk Localiza, next to Budget, was open and matched the Budget price.

Pros: They were fast and very helpful
Cons: The car had a electrical shutdown with me once
Cons: It was a terrible experience. First at booking it said that the car will be at the airport, but it was not, we had to wait in the heat for a long time to be picked up. Then we waited a long time to get our car, almost 1 hour. Then the car was so small, that a normal suitcase did not fit in the trunk

Couldn't cancel my reservation
Pros: Tried to cancel prior to arriving but couldn't
Cons: I got there and went to the avis office but no one was there.

Insurance was a problem
Pros: Good car, competent personel
Cons: The insurance I paidfor thru Kayak didn't show in Avis's system. They charged me a $3,000 deposit to be able to rent the car
Cons: Nothing, i lost the reservation because i was a few hours late because of connection issues, and either way the insurance that KAYAK sold me was not from alamo and i would have paid a HUGE amount of money as a guarantee when i would have need less 7 times less if the insurance was bought with them(the difference was 20$ kayak did not gave me options). So i don't know if i should blame Alamo or kayak.com but i'm never renting anything with you guys again.
