As of 6/27/23, there were zero one-way rental cars available within 100 miles of Buffalo. We had to bite the bullet and take Amtrak, which turned out to be nicer and less expensive than we expected. My advice is reserve as early as humanly possible or find another way home.

Go to Alamo directly. Best prices bed customer service. Avoid Hertzat at all costs. They don't accept Apple credit cards, and the counter young lady was impolite and unhelpful. Go to Alamo and have a fast transaction that will put you on a brand-clean vehicle in less than seven minutes.

I didn't end up getting my car. I waited in line for over an hour, saw them check out less than 10 people, and was then told they didn't have cars available for anyone except the people that had reserved a minivan. I ended up canceling my reservation and booking a car with Enterprise the next day. If at all possible, I'll never use Hertz again.

Bad customer service. They tried to get me to upgrade knowing they would give me a free upgrade if I declined because they did not have a vehicle in my level I selected. The clerk also lied about having to buy the toll pass to go into Canada. The toll pass does not operate in Canada.

This was a miserable experience where the reservation made has not honored by Enterprise Rent-a-car Buffalo airport desk agent or manager. Although booked correctly on your site they decided to tell me not vehicles were available while I had seen multiple vehicles in the parking lot waiting for pick-up.

Kayak’s link to Enterprise was a DEAD END - not once but 3 times. Enterprise did not have the cars Kayak indicated they had. It cost me hours to sort out including an extra 4-hour round trip to Buffalo to get the vehicle we needed through other dealers. BAD EXPERIENCE WITH KAYAK - ENTERPRISE

Pros:

The whole experience was unhappy. The least they could have done, was call me to let me know that the car I rented, was not available. I had to find a ride all the way to the car rental agency, only to find that they did not have the car that I booked.

Great car, excellent customer service, car in good shape

Cons:

Car was filthy inside, food under seats, windows had to be cleaned multiple times to get grease and grime off.
