Meeting up with my friends. I had to move rooms as so many things were wrong with the first room I was out in - not TV remote, the phone next to the bed didn't work and worst of all the toilet didn't flush properly. However, the hotel did try to fix things but were unable to and offered me another room without any fuss.
Latimer Mews was very modern and pleasant. The room was very comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. Also being able to use the gym and pool facilities was a bonus. We had a reall good rate for our 1 night stay. The bar and lounges looked in need of redecoration/renovation. Some of the other residents attending courses who also had rooms in the Latimer Mews were rather noisy during the night.
Location, buildings, quality Breakfast staff were not good, had to be asked for coffee, then again for milk and then again reminded for sugar for example!
Lovely location and very comfortable accomodation with helpful and v friendly staff
Swimming pool complex
Lovely location and grounds My room was like being in a sweat box. Far too hot to sleep and on this experience I would not go there again. Staff comment was 'yes it is hot here' - brilliant!
Room, facilities very good I found the food very dissappointing (Pizza) Wake up call didn't happen
Unfortunetly there were 2 weddings on over the which made breakfast on the first morning difficult as we had to go over to the other part of the hotel to eat and the second morning there were lots of children around which made breakfast loud and uncomfortable. Apart from that a great stay.
good value ang luxury facilities nothing
The room was very clean and modern, the bathroom was the best thing though, bath was lovely with a lovely big mirror and nice soaps/shower gels to use. The room was quite cold when we got in.
The Staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and light. The Breakfast was good. Only criticisms are that the shower in my room was very slow to heat up and as I advised the Man on the reception, if I were a business traveller I would expect a proper power shower. The bacon in my breakfast was a bit greasy.
I came across the Chartridge when I visited for an educational conference. I now use it as a good value for money hotel when visiting schools in Bucks. I shall use it again.
Good food excellent staff Unable to work the rooms heating --staff rectified the problem
The hotel is in a nice spot convenient to surrounding countryside with adequate parking. Comfortable beds in a quiet room situated in the original part of the hotel. Adequate facilities. Nice breakfast with good selection of items available. The waitress who served our coffee and cooked section of the meal was very pleasant and attentive. The fact that we booked last minute on the "Net" may have something to do with this but the first room we were given was not ready with unmade beds, dirty cups on dresser. Second room was next to a noisy generator or something making a droning noise. Third time lucky! We were finally offered a twin room in the older part of the building by the helpfull reseptionist. This was was fine.
A Hotel with character and charm at a reasonable price Location - Without a Sat Nav it wol dbe far more difficult to find. Written instructions should clearer. I.e. written by a visitor who is unfamiliar with the surrounding area nd local roads, not a menber of staff who already knows the place and familiar withthe area.
Free Wi Fi and quiet public space to work.
Easy to us facilities/available at point of contact, staff very helpfull infact your best asset The beds seemed a little dated, standard of evening meal not fantastic seemed to be prepared well in advance
Food/ helpful staff/ bar with fire/ garden shower very small
All very good None
Nice quiet location Shower head needed a good clean/descale to get it working correctly.
Friendly and approachable staff.
Located across from Heathrow property with free shuttle (city bus) to the hotel front door. Quiet comfortable bedroom. Great breakfast ($15). Good service. Not very close to local restaurants. 20 minute (easy) walk to closest pub (The White Horse). Cannot exchange currency at hotel. ATM located in convenience store 10 minutes away.
Comfortable bed, quiet, complimentary drink on arrival. No coffee maker.
Nice breakfast offered, not included in price of room. No transportation from airport when flight is delayed and gets into the airport after midnight. Only taxis at a cost.
Reasonably priced, comfortable, very close to Heathrow No complaints, would stay again.
Nothing decor very tired, noisy
Close to the airport The rooms was far too hot.
The concierge staff were very helpful and friendly, but something need to be done for the check in and check out front liners. We checked in on 25 \nov 2010, arriving about 10 pm plus from Paris enroute to scotland, the check I staff was not very friendly. We checkd out early morning on 26 nov 2010, the check out staff was also not friendly. A simple eye contact would have been helpful for the hotel management.
Close to the airport. Elegant in its own way. The rooms are a bit small.
First off I couldn't book the room through the hotel. I was forced to book with third party online. My bathroom had flooded when I had taken a shower, due to the shower threshold. I had upgraded my room simply just looking for a king bed. The only room available was a sweet which had cost me 275.00 pounds. They only compensated me 50 pounds for a soak and wet bathroom that I had to mop up with all the towels in the room.
The food was great, and the service terrific too. Doors a bit scratched up.
Close to the international airport with easy access to cheap shuttle bus service. Rooms were clean and heating/cooling easily adjusted. Staff were friendly and good with children. A good menu for kids. Rooms are very small, even for overnight stay. There is no lift so luggage must be carried up two flights of stairs which is back breaking if your traveling overseas with a large load. They claim to be 4 star which is a bit of a joke... More like 2 1/2 to 3 mainly due to the fact it is dated (looking worn), lack of lifts to upper levels and lacking 4 star facilities. WiFi was a bit dear. Most places in this pricerange where we stayed offered free WiFi.
Slick check in, very clean and comfortable
close to the airport for our departure home the next day cost means to make our own coffee and tea mini refrigerator nice sized bathroom had to walk along way down a hallway to access an elevator to the 2nd floor and then had to walk back down another long hallway there was urine in the toilet in our "clean" hotel room and the TV was all ready on - it left us wondering if our room had really been cleaned no extra pillows or blankets
Relatively clean I chose the hotel because of its supposedly superior pool and fitness room, but they closed right after I arrived. Why would an airport hotel close its facilities at night?
the strict minimum!! 14 GBP for wifi
Comfortable, clean hotel. No real complaint about the hotel itself but it could be better signposted from heathrow/M4 and the junction
The staff were very good. Public areas ofthe hotel a bit tatty but the rooms excelent.
clean, modern and comfortable
Location of hotel, which allowed quiet ambient atmosphere during the short stay
Convenient for our touring itinery.
The staff were polite, helpful, and unobtrusive. Also they were well turned out. The evening meal could have been better, however the full breakfast was excellent
Location adjacent to M4 -good for connection to London but tube connection better than bus routes. High taxi fares in the locality because of this High taxi fares-charged £28 for 7 mile trip.
It was totally fine for an overnight stay at an airport hotel. The pull out couch was actually more comfortable than the beds themselves. The air-con did not work in our room and they gave us a small fan to rectify the situation. The front desk staff was also very helpful on the phone, but never followed through with the requests we made.
Good service and a decent room. Free wifi. Overall, I was there for 2 days before I left England so it served its purpose. Check in was supposed to be at 2 pm. I got there around 3:30 and still had to wait about 15 minutes before getting my key.
Extremely polite and service-oriented staff. Convenient location. Good value. Flexibility in accomodating a family of four in one room, a rarity in Europe.
The staff in reception is really rough, especially some guy from indian or middle east, ask the staff to let me join the novotel club for 3 times, but he did not anything and lie to me.
The food at the restaurant was excellent - a fantastic meal.
Lovely hotel and grounds and yet a comfortable feeling I found the 'extras' a bit expensive - £18 for a glass of champagne and £4 for a local call for example. We had a private lunch with friends in the Boudoir at lunchtime and stayed overnight (ate in the Terrace) and paid out a tidy sum all in all, so I found that some of the charges were a bit excessive - the £209 charge for coffees (on top of the meal) at lunchtime was a bit high!
For a special occasion location and staff generally are very good Tried to charge me vat on top of the agreed room rate I had to be persistent to correct this- newspaper not delivered to room - very long wait for breakfast
Sheer beauty of the place, lots of history and fantastic grounds. The price!!!
The staff were very helpful and it was a lovely inviting hotel. Nothing
The staff were lovely and very helpful. The historic surroundings and contents were most interesting. We were upgraded to a better room without asking. Very creaky floors in the bedroom!
The reason we chose cliveden was because we had visited the house and grounds previously and the house and the grounds are spectacular. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. a stay at this hotel represents abismal value for money, cliveden as a hotel only survives due to its spectacular location. At nearly £300 per night I would expect at least some things to be provided complimentary as they are ith other hotels, ie there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and only two small bottles of water provided, for this rate I woulkd expect a fruit bowl and full drinks facilities. Although the staff were mainly friendly (there were only one or two that were stuffy and slightly condescending) ther is a culture at cliveden of expecting substantial tips, I do tip, and I tip for good service, however I feel slightly uncomfortable when I am given no other option than someone carrying my bag witha tip expecte
The buildings and grounds are superb, the spa is very good but most importantly the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Anthony at concierge.
Hotel was Luxurious, Staff friendly and Spa facility amazing, would Highly recommend. No, all good
Please write at least 15 words
- Pet friendly - Beautiful building with beautiful rooms and beautiful gardens - The kitchen is just regular - We had to queue for the breakfast because the room is too small - We had to reserve even for the 5 o clock tea hours in advance
Every aspect was ideal for the peaceful, luxurious and celebratory stay for which we were looking. The management of the restaurant seemed to leave something to be desired. Whilst the staff were pleasant, helpful and courteous, many of them appeared to be wandering around aimlessly as if they did not know what they were supposed to be doing. Further, there must surely be something to be said for guests to be allocated tables for the duration of their stay, rather that allocated haphazardly at each meal.
There was insufficient lighting in the bathroom and bedroom to make up. Please please allow pets!
For a stately home it had a homely atmosphere.
The restaurant in the hotel, The Wernher, was superb. The food was totally excellent. Worth every penny! The service was very good too. The hotel itself is beautiful , inside and outside. The grounds are lovely. When i booked, i was given the impression that the room would have views of the grounds,as that was part of the room description. But we were given a room that was far away from the grounds and below the ground floor. But the room itself was gorgeous.
Luton Hoo is a superb hotel The staff are excellent and very professional the buildings impressive and the dining rooms spectacular .. we did not play golf but we did think the course looked very boring ...the spa was wonderful and the rooms very comfortable and extremely spacious We had a room in the coach house [ an ungrade not asked for but offered ! ] It was above the pro shop of the golf course and very noisy [ beware ]
The hotel itself is grand and beautiful with lots of character. The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable and the food was delicious. We loved pre dinner drinks and the atmosphere in the lounge with the fire burning. The swimming pool and sauna and steam room were great. The jacuzzi had the most powerful jets and we thoroughly enjoyed being the only guests that afternoon as they only just opened the pool. The walk around the hotel is lovely with the secret garden making it more attractive.
i booked for my 21st wedding anniversary as a surprise for my wife. The entire weekend was absolutely brilliant, outstanding historic building, great facilities, wonderful staff, fab food, we enjoyed the spa too. We will recommend to freinds and return without doubt. no
Nice decor, comfortable room, good food The room was too hot, heating on too high! We had all the windows wide open all night in November.
Tea making facilites in the room would have been apperciated.
The great warm welcome from the reception staff was very welcome after a long drive. Good hospitality.
location from Gerrards Cross, breakfast rom 151 could do with a refurb. old but clean.
Lounge Area Room was very warm
your staff are more than plesant at all times the only thing which is going to sound very trivial, wait for it, were the scambled eggs ugg!!! think they might have been powdered
The traditional pub area with open fire with the big screen although the bar itself was shut even though there was football on !! I would suggest the rooms be updated, dark wooden furniture looks good if its quality furniture in large classic rooms, otherwise it just looks old and dated.
Great Value, given London location. Rooms very sizeable and well equipped.
Location was good for my business trip. On arrival I was kept waiting while staff member finished off sociaI conversation! I ordered room service which was cold and poor value for money. When I checked out my bill was wrong and I am still trying to resolve overcharging! A real shame as it could have been so much better.
We had dinner in the restaurant and were disappointed with the quality and value.
The hotel felt a little tired, the greeting from the hotel desk was cold and unwelcoming. The bathroom, we were in their best room, was small with very little space to put anything. we spent an hour or so in the hotel bar but left due to limited choice of wine, at extortionate prices - I certainly would never stay there again.
A good location for the road networks. Restaurant food and breakfast good. Staff helpful with directions to the nearest tube station. The lift decor could be improved; looked worn out.
This hotel is a large 'function' commercial style hotel. well trained staff, executive room not inspiring and not executive quality.
Location good, booking in/out was easy. Tatty carpet in the lift....a poor first impression.
It was the site of a special dinner we were attending and the fact that the dinner and our accommodation were on the same site was a great advantage It is a small point, but I would have like more biscuits on the tea-tray! Enough for afternoon tea, and tea in bed the next morning.
The last minute rate - would not have been able to afford it otherwise No
Comfortable large room with good facilities. Could have done with more milk & tea bags, had to ask at reception for more.
the rooms were very clean and comfortable.we only stayed for one night so didnt see much of the hotel, would stay there again.
Staff were really accomodating and helpful distance to walk into town or to train station, but taxis were easy enough to book and quick
Facilities, choice and long breakfast period.
great atmosphere and fantastic service, the staff seemed like genuinely good people. The food was absolutely delicious.
all of it apart from waiting 25 minutes for bar waiter to serve us after telling us to sit on lounges went to our room as above
Nice and modern hotel, very friendly staff, breakfast buffet
Good facilities and very welcoming.
Very good cleaning staff, reception staff and service in the bar; rooms were very comfortable and quiet The location - some way out of Marlow centre & not a pleasant walk. The restaurant was closed on the second night of our stay as there were not enough guests in the hotel. The breakfast is poor value at £16.95 - also extortionate to charge extra for espresso etc.
Hotel heating was stuck on full and the room was extremely warm, the road noise made it impossible to leave the window open, the shower mixer knob was broken and the shower head wouldnt direct over the bath due to worn fitting.
The friendly staff at the reception desk Family room (adjoining room) all I wanted was a double room
I liked the look of the hotel. The friendlyness of the staff holding doors and generally being polite. A+ I stuggled to understand the accent of the front desk workers. We got lost in the hotel a few times, not enough signs from the stairs + lifts to the front desk.
Was given the smallest of rooms, with bed sided by wall. There was no light on the desk, and the single light in the bedroom hall was not sufficient. For th price of the rooms they could offer internet for free. Carpets were durty and smelly all over the hotel. This hotel would certainly do with a massive refurbishment.
The restaurant staff were outstanding, warm & friendly, and genuinely eager to serve. The dinner was also good value for 17 pounds, and the breakfast was superb. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, and we especially enjoyed drinking our bottle of wine after dinner in the garden patio. The room was so hot, it was almost impossible to sleep. Never stayed at a Hilton anywhere in the world that didn't have ac. And the parking lot and street outside were very noisy, with a lot of screeching tires and gunning motors. The wireless provided by bt is also greatly over-priced.
The warm and welcoming staff - at reception, cleaining the room and at breakfast satnav took us to the wrong side of the road
Nice breakfast, good parking, good location just out of the main town Stayed on Floor 2 and had wooden floor above us and all you could hear was creaking noises where other residents were pacing around all night. At least I think that is what they were doing.
Room very good, breakfast very good Wrong price charged at checkin, but corrected on production of paperwork.....bar prices very high, no bar snacks, no draught beer, no ice. There was a party night in the hotel, when we arrived back from an external event we were met by a police van hauling fellow guests out of the hotel......
The hotel was convenient to the event we were visiting (Patchetts equestrian Centre). I was impressed with the comfort of the beds!breakfast was excellent and the bar was good. My husband visited the pool area and found it good Ok. This is not about us, but what we witnessed and overheard whilst checking in. Another customer was complaining about a charge on his room, when he had not bought anything. It was explained that this was in case he used something like room service etc or made any charges on his room. The customer did not understand, and I am afraid that the male receptionist argued with him and it got very heated. Please remind whomever it was that the customer is always right and just say I am sorry. The charge was taken off but the customer was very upset and quite rightly. We were also charged but our female receptionist explained it well......
Plenty of facilities; restaurants, gym, spa and shop. However we chose the hotel for its locationa nd the shuttle service. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Thought the internet was poorly priced, i.e. too expensive.
We requested non-smoking and breakfast, but it didn't arrange. We waited many time for check-in and check-out.
The room was clean and spacious. Check in staff was unwelcoming. Almost was given a smoking room until I complained. Breakfast was expensive and did not live up to the price. The location is far away from the airport and suited to business travelers. Will not book a room at this hotel again.
Proximity to Heathrow airport. Quiet. Brilliant breakfast.
The assistance of your staff.Did not like being charged £9.00 for taxi to Terminal one as I thought £4.00 was figure mentioned by your staff.Patrick Madden.
Very nice hotel, and served my purpose well as an overnight stay to be close to Heathrow for an early morning flight back to the States.Nice and quiet, even though it is so close to Heathrow. Don't know who's fault, but when I arrived, hotel had no record of my reservation. a little scarey, as I was being dropped off by my parents, after a 5 hour drive from South Wales, before my flight the next day, back to the us. After probably 15 minutes, the receptionist made a new reservation, and all was well. The other thing that was not good, was that I did not get my 6am wake up call, which could've made for a bad situation, as I was catching a plane! Also, it was not easy to get to off the M4...got lost and ended up on the m25!!
Clezan, mostly quite quiet, ideally located for Heathrow / m25 For the second time in succession it took nearly an hour to check in as the Active Hotels Booking had not been received by the hotel. Required phonce calls to Active Hotels to resolve. Not what you need at 7pm at night after a long flight etc etc.
Had to wait for check in, had no record of room with breakfast booked over the internet but found booking was in first name. good job I printer copy to show.
Early check in after a long haul flight was not possible
Hotel staff generally good. Room ok, but sink drain a bit slow! Hotel could not find my booking on the system at all - I.E. no record of the Active Hotels booking. So check-in took nearly 20 minutes whilst we sorted out a new booking.
It was equiped with a very nice staff no breakfast deal in a quite handsome amount of money
The room was large, comfortable, and well apportioned in terms of what it contained (TVs, tea and coffee amenities, iron, etc). The convenience to the airport is stellar, and the amenities within the hotel (bars, restaurants, gym) are good. Staff was very friendly. The room was weird. There weren't any outlets near the bed, which doesn't make any sense because it meant there wasn't an alarm clock and also you couldn't plug your phone in by the bed to be an alarm clock. Also, not having a free shuttle to the airport seems usurious.
The restaurant and breakfast food was good and adaquate but not outstanding. I was very pleased with the good sound proofing in the room so that we did not hear the airplanes taking off very close to the hotel. Good job! The bed mattress in our room was very hard and uncomfortable. I could hardly get to sleep. Also the bed cover (duvet) was way too warm and the only other blanket provided (in a closet) was also too warm for the weather. This was by far the worst bed we experienced in our month long travel in Europe. Your should do something about the bed and covers.
The staff. They were the best hotel staff after about 80 hotels we have stayed in the last 3 months around Europe / UK. No business centre. A 4 Star property must have business facilities. Especially located near Heathrow Airport.
Convenience for the price Bar Prices
The cleanliness, the friendliness of the hotel staff, the value, and the close proximity to the airport including shuttle transfer was perfect. It was great. I was not disappointed.
Location, Bar prices exhorbitant, slightly run down nature of hotel.
Location I thought the checking staff were arrogant and undertrained. I wil;l not be using yuor hotel again for Business trips.
room small but clean. bathroom clean. breakfast very good. we were just on an overnight between flights and it was good value for money. hotel is slightly run down - lounge area a bit tired looking - would not encourage patrons to have a social drink in bar.
Comfortable bed, air conditioning Toilet is jammed in too close to the wall!
they don't provide towels for the neaby spa- so I had to walk back as they didn't tell me this fact when I booked in
The comfortable bed and the heater in the room The endless corridoors and minimalist signage
Help at front desk Expensive menu
every thing it was perfect for a quick getaway for the weekend lack of parking
Marriott room standards as expected Restaurant staff were extremely slow (it was busy for Ascot) but not full. Waited 20 minutes on wine to the table. As a Marriott rewards customer I have had better experiences with regards to Marriott service
conveinience, Quiet no
the bed is very comfortable and the room is spacious and clean
Room facilities Noise in corridors at night
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The showers were very difficult to use and we had to change rooms because the shower couldn't have pressure and heat at the same time (something about being too far from the main pipes).
Comfort and cleanliness of room. Staff very attentive. First impression on arrival in reception, staff efficient and friendly queue dealt with efficiently. Room well equiped and bed plenty of pillows and clean.
Room was exceptionally clean with excellent facilities. location was good for Windsor. Reception and room staff excellent. Would book again despite bad experience in restaurant. The service in the restaurant was very poor. Starters and mains were brought to the table together and after we requested main be taken back, we then waited 15 minutes before in was returned after starter was finished. Restaurant was not busy . However, waiter was very apologetic and did not charge us for the meal.
Check in was clean and efficient. The place appears at first glance to be running very well. Getting a meal was a fiasco. The restaurant staff informed me that the kitchen was running a "little" slow only she forgot to add the inverted commas. The standard of food when we finally got it (had to threaten to leave) was very poor. The up side was I didn't get billed for the meal but I would have gone out if the hotel had been honest and said they were not able to serve from the a la carte menu that evening.
Amenities Too expensive
Friendly staff, gym was good. SPA was not that good.
The room was clean and spacious service at breakfast was poor
Traditional style hotel The staff did not have the greatest customer service skills.
We liked the historical atmosphere and setting of The Crown and the authenticity of its refurbishment. The whole building has tremendous character.
The room was excellent. Breakfast was a shambles, staff were unable to cope with demand and hence service was pretty appalling.
Great charme, old England country style
The intimate bar area, the bedroom (which was one of the traditional rooms with oak beams) The fact that the staff were happy to arrange a breakfast at 0330am due to the fact that we needed to leave early.
The rooms were fantastic, lots of old world charm. Very romantic!
setting of the property, and receptionist was very helpful room service breakfast tray was dirty, full of dust in each corner.
Very comfortable bed. Peaceful room. relaxing stay. Very cold bathroom, no radiator or heated towel rail. So-so staff. Tried to overcharge me be £100 and when this was pointed out, were not particularly apologetic or concerned.
Location, character, history, comfortable room Poor service and badly organised breakfast
Location near lhr was very useful to us. Room was very comfortable. Check-in was a disaster, as we were not told where to find the room. We were told the room had two bedrooms, when we had booked two separate rooms. We eventually got our two rooms but it shouldn't have been so difficult after a tiring day.
Room was clean View of the carpark. Long walk to room.
It was local to where I needed to be There was a lot of noise from staff filling and emptying bins early in the mornings directly outside our room (approx 7:30 both mornings) The cost of drinks and refreshments at the bar/lounge where exspensive (£5.50 for a glas of wine!). I can see no reason why this should be so much more than a standard Bar/restarunt.
noisy, outdated, slow internet and stil wired access (despite high speed written in the room), minibar empty, TV not working, temperature too hot and unable to sort out. I will not come back to this hotel anymore in the future.
It was close to the place we was dining at that evening. The fact that the room walls had stains on, the carpet had stains on, no proper ventilation to the room, it was under construction which was not mentioned to me before i went there!
Very helpful and friendly staff, eager to help and delive customer needs Bar prices were extortionate
friendliness of the bar staff no
new clean fresh
breakfast was good apart from cup of tea having floating oily bits. shower was cold in the morning so we complained to staff along with other couples in our group. Staff confirmed they had problems but did not offer any compensation or reduction in our bill. Also it cost £9.70 for 2 vodka and cokes.........ridiculous prices. Also hotel did not think we were entitled to breakfast as aprt of this deal but our voucher showed we were so they had to send 2 breakfast vouchers up to our room after checking with management.
We were attending a family wedding in Maidenhead. It was easy to jump in a taxi to the hotel from the railway station and within walking distance of the town centre. Good for families as the hotel has a swimming pool and a steam room & sauna for the adults. Good breakfast.
