Did not have breakfast at hotel
The WIFI speed was very slow, when I tried to review other hotel websites I was shutdown.
This hotel has a lovely traditional feel with all the modern comforts. The rooms are really nice with lovely decor. The hotel has many different sections and I stayed this time in a part that I hadn’t stayed in before. It was a little noisier than other area of the hotel and the stairs were quite narrow and steep. If you are elderly, have difficulty with normal stairs or traveling with small children I would suggest requesting a ground floor room. The location is excellent with easy walking to day market, night bazaar and Sunday night walking market.
My room was close to the main entrance and scooter parking area so it was a little noisy at times but not too bad. The stairs required some concentration.
Lovely little pool in the centre of the accommodation, large selection at breakfast which was not too expensive to add to our 'room only' booking. The rooms were nicely decorated and modern, the bathroom was beautiful but the bath was unlikely to ever be filled as it was huge!
The hotel had charged the booking to my account before arrival, despite selecting pay at hotel. I arrived late in the evening so perhaps this was why, but I had informed them of my arrival time. Not a big issue though.
Location is great and very quiet. The ambiance of the property is perfect for a secluded trip for two. Huge rooms and a great pool.
The water broke down during our stay (nobodies fault, things happen) but they tore apart our bathroom trying to figure out the problem (turned out to be the hotel water pump) and didn't bother to put our shower back together. They said we could use the shower in a different room but it wasn't until I suggested that we move rooms that they were like "oh ok, that would work too". Minor annoyance in the middle of a holiday but not a deal breaker.
The local type atmosphere with wooden buildings and the pool at the center was nice. Also the hotel is well placed between the old center and the night market.
On a whole it was bit plain; the room, the breakfast.. there was a loud bar behind the building we were in. At the rate we had there are better accommodations in Chang Mai.
