Good breakfast, very good location; It has a very nice bar with a good atmosphere. They left us a place to park the car.
The building it’s self is beautiful, a proper gem of historic Cirencester. The staff were very welcoming and all friendly, the food is amazing!!!
My only complaint would be slight noise from the kitchen until the restaurant, only because our room was above it. But to expected, and no real problem anyhow
An excellent hotel - perhaps not quite the 5* that The AA has apparently awarded it, but great nonetheless. We had a Character room (my wife and I, and our dog) and it was more than adequate. King size bed was very comfortable. All extremely clean and stylishly decorated. The bathroom was a good size for an en suite. Big TV with Freeview. No real noise from neighbours (we were in room 19). All told, quite difficult to fault aside from a few minor quibbles. Staff were fab - Zisis and Jamie (I think) looked after us brilliantly. Oh, and breakfast was great - lots to choose from, all good quality along with various cooked brekky options and served with a smile!
The shower cubicle was a touch small but otherwise fine although the extractor fan didn't work and couldn't be mended until after our (weekend) stay. There was a kettle and a coffee machine in the room but only one decaf coffee pod thingy and apparently no spares on site which was disappointing. The hotel kindly provided some instant Nescafe sachets but we chose to share the remaining pod instead! No room service to speak of, nor a telephone to request room service. Little things that add up, but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would quite happily stay again.
The hotel was really central, it was so lovely and quirky and all the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was gorgeous and the restaurant well decorated and in keeping with the age of the property. Overall a lovely place I would definitely return to.
There wasn't anything I could think of that I disliked.
Lovely rooms but beware on a hot night! Great breakfast
Reception never seems to be manned early evening and too many (but not all) staff happy to hang around the bar chatting
The Fleece is a fabulous and historic inn set right in the centre of Cirencester. Its been welcoming visitors for centuries, and many original features make it a charming place to stay. Guest rooms have been fully refurbished for 2019 and are cosy and comfortable with a dcor that reflects the local area, and the great quality food makes it a popular place to eat.
