8.9 Excellent (103 reviews)
When you stay at East Bay Resort - All Beachfront Suites - Island hop required in Cockburn Harbour, you'll be on the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Long Cay Beach and The Boiling Hole. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
Pros: Beautiful beach, lovely staff, comfortable and well appointed rooms with incredible views. Very quiet but friendly island.
Cons: There isn’t a huge amount to do on the island. A few little things would make this place top notch - such as always having towels available at the beach (they ran out a lot - but always worked to get more).
Pros: The place was amazingly beautiful, clean and just beautiful. Staff was excellent, extremely attentive to your needs and always approachable. We had such great time there I didn’t want to leave. The food, words can’t describe, simple delicious and daily price. My only issue was the connecting flight from Provo to south Caicos. I wish there was a direct flight or boat service daily. Would have been great. I want to go back but still scared of the flight there from Provo.
Cons: The connecting flight from Provo. I know it’s safe but it was still scarily. Haters it all the way and then back.
Pros: The staff was amazing. They were very accommodating and didn't hesitate to go the extra mile. The Long Key Beach trip was the highlight of our stay.
Cons: We wish that the restaurant menu had more variety. Even the fish of the day was the same for our entire stay.
Pros: Quiet and calm place. Peaceful and respectful people. Thank you very much
Pros: Everything ! Perfect location near town , Great beach, and pool , superb property managers totally engaged with guests, good food yet It being off season , wait staff was understaffed at dinner time . We’ve owned on grace bay in provo for 20 years and this was our first visit to south Caicos . Beach comparable to grace bat though smaller
Cons: Nothing !
Pros: Friendly and safe Island. Huge starfish, Humpback whales, nurse sharks, barracudas, sea turtles, iguanas, horses, donkeys. Amazing views and room.
Cons: The restaurant and bar was reasonable quality, but I feel they overcharged. 6 cookies and a brownie should not cost over $30 US. Bikes are in need of some TLC.
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful and included. Kids loved it and the staff was very flexible. Continental with options for Pancakes, Eggs etc The beach was fantastic. Soft sand, kids loved walking around collecting shells. My wife could ont get over how "untouched" the beach was. The pool was a good size and kids enjoyed it immensely. The location did not have too many people. It was perfect for a secludd family or romantic getaway. We walked out of our hotel room... 3 minutes later we were on the beach! Safe location... no worry about crime.
Cons: Room was flawed initially, but staff rectified the situation immediately. Make sure you pack ALL essentials. It is hard to find sunscreen or other essentials on this island. No problem on the main island if you are staying there.
Pros: The property was amazing!!! Clean, quiet, definitely a more relaxing trip. Our room had an extra room in it which we did not expect, we were in the 1st floor beach front room, had a kitchen, washer and dryer, one queen bed, and one king bed. Our sliding door was hard to open but nothing to make our stay any less enjoyable. The staff came within minutes if you called the front desk. The beach was breath taking, I highly recommend the star fish tour (can’t remember what it is actually called) but it is a little over two hour tour which takes you on a boat to go snorkeling (which you see soooooo many fish, and sting rays) then it takes to iguana island which you feed iguanas (how awesome!) and then you go to star fish alley which you can see and touch star fish in the ocean. This tour is for all ages. I would definitely visit this resort again.
Cons: I didn’t like the food at the resort, it was okay to eat... but we order a grilled cheese and all they did was toast two pieces of bread and put a slice of cold cheese on it, they “remade” it 3 times and still was the same. We didn’t have to pay for that meal but the local food on the island was great!!
Pros: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! It's a gorgeous property beachfront to a lovely, secluded white sand beach with no one around for miles. The rooms have great A/C, are modern and we'll appointed including full kitchen and laundry. Jeremiah picked us up from the airport, he's a local guy full of energy and was a great "tour guide" on the way to the resort. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the front desk by Marva, with 2 flutes of tropical punch, nice touch! We arrived well before check-in time, were offered complimentary breakfast and our room was ready in no time. Burt, the resort Manager was an excellent host. He was very personable, took us in to town for food and drinks several times, dropped to show us the flamingos and drove us back to the airport. Very nice! The main thing was he seclusion. Most times we had the pool, and beach all to ourselves as it hasn't hit peak period yet. Absolutely stunning location and would definitely return
Cons: The elevators were said to not be working, and in reviews from last year was the same thing so not sure if they have ever been working. The bathroom in our room was well appointed but awkward. The WiFi was poor in the far rooms though generally usable. The bed frame is very sqeuaky, almost like there is plastic under it. My main gripe is about the wait staff in the restaurant. I believe they were Dominican, as they didn't speak much English. They had exactly the opposite demeanor I would expect of wait staff. Zero knowledge of the menu, they barely spoke, were neither pleasant nor rude, one took my wife's plate out from under her whilst she was finishing her last piece of chicken and then she had nowhere to put the bone. The food was good but they need real waitresses in a bad way
Pros: Location. The island is beautiful. Our driver and tour guide were awesome!
Cons: The area needs to be cleaned around the condo complex, the restaurant needs to hire knowledgeable staff, the dining rooms need to be spruced up (basic cafeteria-style), paper straws but plastic bottles everywhere given to guests in multiple quantities with water filling stations around the property???. They also clean rooms with bleach, which is harmful to the environment.
Pros: The location was beautiful. On a wonderful beach with great snorkeling right behind it. Rooms are large and clean and tastefully decorated. They have a dishwasher, washer and dryer. I love the look and the feel of the setting, modern and contemporary. We were traveling with 2 teens, they had paddle board and kayak rentals and enough to do for our three night stay. Great if you scuba dive as the dive shop is located on property as well as the boat you go out on.
Cons: For as few of guests were staying on property they were often short of beach towels. Service in the dining room was ok. They weren’t very good about checking back with you for another drink, how the meal is, etc. This was our 2nd stay here and the first time the employees seemed happier and friendlier. This time they just didn’t put off a vibe they were happy to see you or even wanted to help you. We rode bikes a couple of times and most of the bikes are broken or chains are falling off, etc. They had a hard time finding four our family could use. One of the employees had told us tho that they got more new bikes since we were there last. I will say Pablo went above and beyond to get us bikes that were rideable and he was very helpful and courteous and ready to assist whenever we saw him. He was awesome! He’s also the Dive Instructor at East Bay and when I inquired on diving he got back to me right away and answered all my questions. Security was horrible with any stray pups on property, throwing rocks at them and taking a rope to pull them down the steps as everyone was watching and the dogs were yelping and crying. Several guests approached security and tried to help the dog. We actually ended up adopting this dog to bring home with us-a happy ending to that sad story! And last but not least, the pillows are terribly hard and big. A few options for pillows in the bedroom would have been great!
Sailrock Resort is South Caicos? premier luxury resort nestled privately along the pristine beaches of the Caribbean Sea. Home to the third-largest coral reef and miles of undiscovered land, Sailrock Resort is the perfect setting for connoisseurs of authentic experiences.
Pros: Just returned to Sailrock for our 2nd visit, which felt like coming home . We stayed in one of their villas and it was incredible! Perfectly appointed with a personal pool overlooking the Atlantic side with unobstructed views and direct private access to miles if white sand beach. The two outdoor showers inside the villa were simply dreamy and everything was clean and so very comfortable . We didn’t want to leave our villa except for the amazing food. Upon request they warmed up our outdoor pool to perfection . We do miss Chef Jose as the food was still great but not as consistently excellent as before on our first trip last year; we hope they soon bring another amazing Chef. The best part of the resort is still the staff: Putra, Lenny, Juni, Deo, Lelu you are all like family for us. Francis and Ruth as well. We felt so taken care of, so welcomed and truly spoiled. They are the reason we will keep coming back. Thank you. Highly recommend this place to others . Don't miss this amazing resort for a quiet and romantic retreat. If you like the person you’re with, you will enjoy peace and quiet, rugged luxury , and one another , along with the most caring and amazing service . We are already booking our return!
Cons: There is nothing to not like
Pros: Location is amazing. Unfortunately we had two days of wind and poor weather.
Cons: Service at lunch and dinner quite slow. There is really nothing else to do in the place so I would suggest to have some live music and try to have a little bit of entertainment at night.
Pros: Kitchen and food was excellent, staff os very friendly and location is great!
Pros: Come here with right expectations. This is complete getaway place form civilization. No rush. No crowds. Quiet surroundings. No parties and huge crowded pools. It just for you and your family. Actually kids might be bored here. There is good wifi on the property so no need for roaming service. Property is super clean and stuff is extremely helpful. Come here to unplug. Rent quads or jeep to take a trip around the island by yourself - off-road lovers will truly enjoy it here.
Cons: If you don’t like heat, humidity and flying bugs associated with that, then stay away. If you need reliable internet connection to be able to work remotely 24/7, then you might not be able to. If you cannot slow down your life and unplug even for a few days - you will be frustrated here. This place is as opposite from busy city life as it is possible.
Pros: It was secluded and private
Cons: Inconsistently good service. There has to be consistency. The intention and heart to serve is there, but it lacked attention to details and focus on customers. The staff will really try their best to please you.. was just not consistent. Food is expensive for the service size too.
Pros: Wonderful stay! Very friendly staff. Our island hopper flight was delayed and they chartered another plane so we wouldn’t have to wait—management went above and beyond. Will definitely go back!
Cons: Can’t think of anything of significance
Pros: If you are looking for secluded and quiet this is the place to go. The property, food, staff and beach was amazing.
Pros: This property was ideal for a long weekend getaway! We celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and he was pretty happy with the Pleasant surprise of sailrock. The staff from the moment we were greeted at airport to Francis driving us over and Harvey and mervin greeting us. Jerom, Mon, Earl and the entire staff (I wish I could remember everyone’s name!) was SO accommodating and welcoming. We loved our ridge top suite, great drinks and quiet Beach setting, the massages in open air huts at Na Spa.. all of this trip was picture perfect. We stopped for a drink at grace bay club before we left on Provo and we were SO happy we chose to stay at the secluded untouched island of south Caicos over a larger Property on the more populated islands. Don’t resist and book this paradise now!
Cons: NOTHING!!! This place rocks!
