The room was perfect for the price. Great view. Very clean. Slept like a baby. The breakfast was typical Eurpean coffee and croissants...but very good. Be prepared to not find much dining in the area. The entire lake has a very laid back attitude about work days/hours.
It was a simple hotel with basic ammenities. The tv was too small for quite a big room. We had 2 twin beds offered and it was difficult to sleep for a couple which had already requested a double bed. Breakfast was fine and service was great. The terrace is nice but the lounge chairs are not so comfortable. They should do more for the terrace. On the website, the hotel also offered free internet service on specific locations like the lobby area. However, this is not entire free. It's only free for 20 mins and the rest is chargable then. This is a misleading information and I don't think it's fair for those that are planning on working on their laptop over the weekend.
The room we had had just recently been re-furbished so everything was still brand new. Also - the continental breakfast was really good. Our room had a beautiful balcony, with a beautiful view across the bay to the village - except we could not take pictures or fully appreciate the balcony because the view was marred by an enormous crane right next to us, due to renovations happening on the property next to the hotel.
Lovely view, poolside terrace was very nice and comfortable right on the water's edge. Great breakfast. Staff was helpful. Valsolda is a lovely and colorful town, and the promenade is enjoyable with the amazing views. There is a hike to the town from the hotel. Directions to hotel were not easy to follow. It would help if they explained that you should get off at the 2nd bus stop. Due to the location of the hotel access to other towns is limited by boat because of less frequent stops in Valsolda.
We've stayed in the Hotel Regina for 3 night. There was a room with see view. The location and view from the room is very beautiful. The staff was were helpful. The was an small problem with wi fi connection in the room. The view
The Hotel was very clean and tidy with great facilities - Swimming Pool and Gym. It was also close to the water taxi dock and a number of great restaurants. If you get a chance you must visit 'Ristorante da Mario' the food is great and the service very entertaining! It's a shame that the hotel didn't serve an evening meal as the walk to the restaurants along a road without footpaths was a bit tricky. There was a bar on site but the lights were always off and it wasn't very inviting
Good value for money. Building is properly renovated, gorgeous lake views. We failed to find good place for dining around.
The view of the lake from our room and the cleaniness of our room. No.
Very good location and relaxing atmosphere. Very small bathroom, actually too small
The staff was absolutely wonderful. Helped with planning our days and activities. Breakfast buffet was good, room clean and comfortable.Great value for the money. Location within 30 min walk of everything in town, good restaurant across the street, nice lakeside walk just a few hundred feet away. No complaints at all.
The person at the check-in was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The breakfast buffet in the morning was incredibly good. Free Wifi did not work in the hotel room, but worked in the reception area.
A nice simple clean hotel, modern large rooms, helpful staff. Well positioned for a five minute walk to Gravedona centre (there's no restaurant at the hotel, at least in the low season, but a couple of good places on the waterfront). Like many hotels around the lake it is right on the lakeside road, which is busy pretty much all night. Gravedona has a very different feel to the resorts on the southern end of the lake - less plush, more relaxed.
Supernice breakfast buffet, very friendly family-owned hotel, quiet part of the Como lake, very nice and spacious room with lake-side view (no street noise problem), nice pool
We liked everything about the place! It was like a resort in many ways, but smaller, offering the marvellous personal touch of the managers. The hotel was truly classy. Clean, ...gorgeous, in its furnishings, spacious,...truly tasteful and beautiful. While there were many wonderful things about the Hotel La Villa, the couple who manage it are first class, genuine professionals of hospitality. they made every thing come to life for a lovely holiday time. No.
We loved the personal way we were treated, the custom food mama cooked for us, the cleanliness of everything, the affordable price for a 4 star experience, the location near a beach and pool, and the peacefulness of the hotel. There was not one thing we didn't like. We were treated like a member of their family at all times.
Perfect location close to Lake Como. The owner Luigi and his family were lovely, so friendly and helpful. Food was great, all homemade and organic. The pool was nice and clean. The surroundings were beautiful. Our kids loved picking fresh boisenberries and raspberries out in the garden. Would definatelly stay here again!
Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast was great and we eat out on the terrace. Unfortunately the dogs barking non-stop nearby spoiled the peace and tranquility, and it became very irritating after a while. Otherwise a great small hotel.
nature around, nice yard and pool, quiet resturant at hotel does not worth its prices.
Absolutely a great hotel to stay at Lake Como. The hotel shows authenticity and prepares great food, mainly from their own grounds or local suppliers. The staff were all really helpfull. I would recommend it to everyone.
very very good small hotel!!
Friendly staff, quiet pool area, spa facilities. Within easy reach of Menaggio, Belaggio etc by car & within walking distance to Lake Como & lovely town Gravadona. Excellent for mountain walks. The small road leading into the hotel not very attractive.
Good to excellent food. Beds were so - so. One runs a hotel and doesn't miss charging anything. Said wireless didn't work well at all. First when stepping out of the room I got connected to the wireless. So far all well, but their connection to the Internet got to be a mere joke. Too slow for any communication. It was not that much "slow life / food" as was perhaps claimed in their advertisement.
The Spa & the ease of hirng bikes You definitely need a car to get around
Wonderfully calm atmosphere with view to the mountains (though not to the Lago di Como). Perfect facilities and cleanliness, very gentle and friendly staff. The food at the restaurant is excellent.
The room was beautifully clean, the food was wonderful and the staff were warm and friendly.
Modern, clean and stylish layout. The bedlinen smelt very fresh and clean. The owner was very helpful and friendly and gave us accurate directions for the next day.
nice rooms, an old villa, some things old, some very nicly renewed, friendly, open, nice garden; small things, you need in the beginning can be bought in the vill;, only three minutes to lake Como, very quiet (we had an appartment with garden view),heater was functioning very well( not usual in Italy in Oct),new furniture, well equiped kitchen
renovated room all stairs
The building was 16th century, but updated inside. Lovely area. Owner very friendly and helpful Our room did not have an view/aspect out - the window from the living area was into the centre well of the building. 70euros for cleaning on leaving the hotel seemed a lot - I didn't think there should be an extra charge for that which was obligatory.
The design and decoration. Nice mix of old and modern. Nice welcome from the owner! They ask of a 50E surcharge to clean the room + 10E per person for towels! Considering a 130E room, these extras can almost double the price! Cleaning a room should be part of the inital price, especially if you stay only one night! I think these prices are unfair considering the location, the facilities of the villa and the room rate.
The apartment was fantastic for a few nights near Como, loved the 17th century house refitted with mod cons.
Really beautiful apartment with stylish modern conversion set in a old property full of character and charm Booking in was a little tricky to organise because I didn't speak Italian. And paying at the end was also complicated as they couldn't take credit cards for only one nights stay
The apartment was beautifully designed with no expense spared. The apartments are located right in the centre of the village which is great except for the church bells that ring every hour all through the night. The cleaning fee of €50 is quite steep. The pool in the garden is more of a plunge pool rather than a swimming pool. The thermostat in the shower was hard to work.
Villa Vinicia is a charming place with very friendly staff. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious. Very good location, lovely village, superb region.
The hotel is completely reformed, and very clean. Also, the price is very adecuated.
