the location Menu could have been more varied
the rooms are beautiful and the position on the beach is breathtaking just like the pictures we loved it but being english we would have loved tea making facilities in our room
Excellent situation on the beach. Competent and friendly staff. High quality food. Suggestion: Hotel shuttle to drive customers downdown Concarneau.
The rooms were fantastic - just like the pictures on the website. Sliding doors at the end of the bedroom led out onto a balcony overlooking the beach. View fantastic and the sound of the sea was very relaxing. I would highly recommend this hotel for anybody looking for a few days rest and relaxation. Hotel restaurant expensive for the quality of food offered - plenty of better value available in local restaurants
Location was excellent, with very friendly, welcoming reception staff. Room and bathroom both superb - even better than they look on the hotel website. The restaurant is poor. Very overpriced with miserable service and average food. Much better to find somewhere in town, where there is an excellent choice (although this is about a 20 min walk).
The setting of the hotel, the restaurant (wonderful dinners!), the friendliness and helpfulness of the general manager, which is reflected throughout her staff.
Helpfulness of staff. The shower design was poor in room 206, the water floods onto the bathroom floor as there is nothing to stop it from doing so. Other than that everything very good.
Beautiful interiors. Simple and stylish. Wonderful view. A luxurious boutique bolt-hole with a fantastic chic but friendly atmosphere. Truly a gem in a country where one normally knocks a star off the rating to get the genuine one. This is nowhere near two stars. 4 or 5 would be nearer the mark. Oh, and the food and booze were fantastic too. None.
Great location. Upgraded to superior room on arrival with larger balcony and sun loungers. Same dinner menus during 5 night stay and no vegi option except vegetables or salad.
The view of the Atlantic straight from the bed, the friendly receptionist and staff in general, the fact that we could borrow a kettle, the culture in close vicinity (Concarneau: ville close, as well as other places of interest within a 25 km radius), the walks through the forest close to the hotel, etc., etc.
The hotel was very nicely renovated, very good quality showeroom ensuites. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was very nice and not expensive. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as 12euro each for a family of five seemed expensive especially as the room rate was reasonable, but the cafe at the supermarket next door is good and we walked over to breakfast there.
Good swimming pool. Within walking distance of town centre. Quite a good breakfast. Very good bedroom and bathroom Understaffed Attitude of some of staff at reception
There was no connection in the bathroom for the electric razor
modern & clean building, lots of parking space, close to super market, nice restaurant receptionist didn't speak English at all at checking in
The decor of the room, especially the shower. The restaurant evening menu does not have enough choice
Our triple room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Decor was good too. It's a little difficult to find.
Really very good hotel with motivated/ trained staff and well equipped facilities by the time when we were there second time I was negatively suprised by very poor breakfast service (no spoons and forks , no plates and some kind of mess . The only excuse I can see that they served for very big group of japaneese . But this very little exuse for good hotel . I guess that good hotel (as Oceania is ) should predict such things before it happened
The price we paid through yourselves was a fair bit higher than the price being offered on a big board outside the hotel for the entire length of our stay. The staff refused to reduce the price we paid to the price being offered to people walking off the street. It makes us suspicious of advance booking with yourselves if it means we finish up paying a higher price
The helpfulness of the reception staff The smell of the rooms - you could smell the drains - I paid more money for a good hotel so did not expect to smell the drains would have liked a more comforable chair in the room to relax
hotel room was very clean there was no refridgerater
very good location and good value for money.
Nice Hotel Difficult to find hotel from info on booking form
Hotel is in the centre of the older part of Concarneau: very handy for harbour and the historic Ville Close, with plenty of free parking. Room was nicely furnished/decorated and of a good size, on the first floor, with lift access. Ensuite was very good - decoratively and facilities-wise: large shower, hair dryer, plenty of room. The bed was a good size and comfortable - duvet a bit warm for summer. In room access to internet - albeit cable connected and slow - OK for email. We were on first floor at front and with a small balcony - so a reasonable view but with a downside of some early morning noise from cars in/out of parking and tradesmen servicing adjacent restaurants/bars. Noise exacerbated by need for ventilation in the hot weather as there was no fan or air conditioning. TV was modern TFT but had very limited stations and all in French. We did not take the breakfast because we thought it expensive for a continental breakfast. However, there are several nearby places where a range of breakast can be had 30 to 60% less.
good location, good size bathroom & great shower
The breakfast was superb with homemade bread and jams. It was worth reserving a garage space as the public parking in Concarneau is confusing due to several market days. Easier for a small car though! The room was large very stylishly decorated but the only chairs were not comfortable for "oldies" or for reading in.
We liked the friendliness of the owners, who made us feel very welcome. They did a lot to make our stay enjoyable
Staff were very friendly it was so convenient for the town no
Central position ideal as we had an elderly parent with us , it was lovely to have home made produce for breakfast Rooms a little on the small side
Great location. Rather noisy outside.
Good position, close to local attractions (market on friday) and restaurants Building work
Free parking. Indoor heated pool. I don't know how this place got three stars. Our experience started with an indifferent reception and went downhill from there. Our non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke (we found an ashtray in the closet). Our room had two twin beds pushed together instead of a double bed. There was no shower, just a bathtub that didn't drain properly and smelled like mildew. No extra towels or blankets. No kettle, so had to venture out just for a cup of coffee, no air conditioning, so on a warm night we had to open the window and were bitten to pieces by mosquitos. The hotel is located on an unattractive little bay, a 10 or 15 minute walk along sidewalks that were minefields of dog excrement. Avoid this hotel, avoid Concarneau!
room very good, bed very comfortable, staff excellent absolutely no tea / coffee facilities, no mini bar so you could not have a drink of any kind whatsoever.
Location. Great sunset views over the harbor on the seaside rooms. Nice enclosed pool where you can still see the sky.We had a two story appt. Great for families. I was expecting a small refridgerator/microwave since we got a duplex, but nope. And when we asked to get one they said they didn't have any. Eventhough the location was beautiful, it is not really close to much. You have to walk a ways or take the tour train to get to the city center where all the restaurants and shops are.
The location was beautiful. We had a great view of the water from our balcony. The only thing that I did not like was that the bathroom smelled like urine. It wasn't dirty, just smelly.
The room was a good size, clean and with a sea view. The staff are friendly, helpful and english speaking. The restaurant is excellent for regular meals or a special occasion with the food being mainly seafood. We will return.
Good staff and service, situated near beach and city centre, swimming pool for kids With children we miss the refrigerator on the room
stayed for 2 nights, good family room with nice view. kids enjoyed the pool. 15 minute walk into the center of concarneau.
The location is very nice and the pool facility is very nice, overall this could be a lovely hotel if room facilities brought up to date Rooms very dated and smelled stale, room facilities very basic, no tea/coffee. Seems a little expensive for what it is
Location and facilities - plus friendly staff
That we could place our cycles in the office-room That we couldn't place our car in the nearby garage, that the hotel has't got special places reserved for it.
facilities for tea/coffee in room would be good also, a hairdryer...
Nice friendly staff. Nice room.
Central location Nothing
At reasonable price, located near the old city center, this hotel is Very good! Bath room is wide, clean, and comfortable.
Very friendly staff!!! Late parking a bit tricky but fine! good breakfast and thanks for the free one Only one soap for a twin room? Wall outside the window but ok for two night.
Frankly we were very disappointed having stayed in you excellent Art Deco hotel in Brest. So there was not much we liked. See below. Location opposite the Police Station and a busy road did not help sleep. On our first night we opted to stay in for dinner. First course quite acceptable. But main course (Chef recommended steak) was a disaster. We asked for medium steak but got rare. Sent it back and it was then inedible. Pudding very dull. I mentioned this to the young lady in charge. She said that no one else complained so it must have been alright. When the subject of customer satisfaction came up she told me that customers were wrong and she and the hotel were right. At that point I thoght it best to avoid further communication. Breakfast, when compared with your Brest Hotel was dull, uninteresting and presented with labour saving devices.
Good location in the city centre, good room size and pricing Room and furniture a bit tired
Being in the center of the city and at walking-distance therefore. It was my fault : I did not know until after our departure that breakfast was free for one person each morning. I would have sent my daughter down every morning. I was charged for my own breakfast (1st day/only time).
The lobby is pleasant. It's close to the centre. The bedrooms are very cramped and the first one we were offered had a view overlooking a dirty blank wall! To be fair, they offered us another - in the attic. Bedroom fittings are cheap and functional - Compared with the Hotel Oceania we stayed in in Brest this hotel comes very low by comparison! I would not return.
Our hosts were always very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The location was very convenient.
Not a lot. The room was clean but very basic. The bathroom was the most modern part of the room. The decor was very dated. There was a stale or musty smell in the corridors. They charged for parking and access to the car park closed at 9.30pm
Its location in the centre of the town bed was small and not very comfortable - the decor is rather dated
It is good town-centre hotel with all the basic needs and at a very reasonable price. The owner/manager was very helpful. The room was 'compact' but, along with the en-suite facilities, it was perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable. Excellent central location. Good off-street parking. No
Staff were so welcoming!! It's a simple hotel, very friendly and clean and its location is great (right by the harbour and the historical town centre). Its safe car park was also a plus!
On a fairly quiet street, although a 5 or 6 minute walk to the old town area. One big plus for the room: there were actually towel hooks in the bathroom!! Hard mattress and one of those annoying Tootsie Roll-shaped pillows you find in too many French hotels
Great location, clean and friendly welcome!
Off road parking No tea/coffee making facilities in room
Our room was on main street, so quite noisey, the rooms are small and so it the shower room. One of the best value breakfast we had on our trip. shower room far to small, a large person could not get into it.
Good central location close to old town. Friendly reception staff and good choice at breakfast. Room slightly small but otherwise fine. Larger rooms were available for more money.
The hotel is in a very convenient location for exploring the walled city of Concarneau; rooms are comfortable and very attractively decorated with a seaside theme. Desk staff was pleasant. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance, and the local tourism office is right across the street. The only drawback (and it would be a concern for some) is that there isn't an elevator. You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the desk, and then again up a flight to get to your room.
location absence of table, too small room, noise from the street
Very convenient location. A room was clean and tidy. It was a triple room, although it was obvious that there was no space for three beds and no space for things at all.
Particularly liked the situation looking over the port clos ( walled city). Although a little noisy in the morning the view of the port and walled fort overcame this. It was great to walk to the local restaurants.
friendly and welcoming, helpful with our bikes and very good evening meal
I asked for a quiet room and got one on the top floor at the back, overlooking a forested hill across the river. The room was very stylish in cream and black. The entire hotel is very elegant modern and classy yet underpriced. The breakfast was excellent and the very friendly staff speak excellent English. The dreamlike enchanted town is a stonesthrow away - all very safe and easy to walk through - great restaurants and lovely friendly locals.
The staff were so friendly and the hotel is tastefully decorated. Very convenient to all of quimpers interesting sights. Highly recommend.
The staff were so helpful and kind, nothing was too much trouble.
Good location for Quimper centre. Clean room. Parking. Breakfast buffet was good, but a bit expensive at 13 euros. Paying for the parking. Lift very small, had to remove foot plates to get the wheelchair in the lift. The minimalist style ment there was no atmosphere.
The rate was too expensive the call the room deluxe but does not exist the minibar incredible bouffet breakfast very faschion but just few things No wifi in the room
Staff were very helpful and professional and breakfast was very good
The room was spacious and clean. The hotel personnel was polite and helpful. The breakfast is average (extra cost for fresh orange juice or boiled egg). There is also an extra cost for the parking.
Breakfast expense...can 't eat enough to break even
The staff were very friendly and helpful especially a staff member called Stanislas. There was not an English speaking TV station on the TV.
The room was excellent, the decor is fantastic, we really enjoyed the comfort, and the owner was also very nice. We definitely recommend this hotel.
The hotel is in a rather old building, but on the other hand all the rooms have been quite well renewed. Personell is very friendly and helpfull.
Superb Staff running a very clean and comfortable hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Hotel is very convenient for access to the major sites of Quimper.
Very helpful staff and well run with personal attention to detail. Charming rooms and very clean. Beautiful breakfast. Great location to walk to old town and see sights and enjoy restaurants. Very quiet room to charming interior patio. Loved it!
Family run hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent.
Nice staff, god location. None
Room, staff and breakfast were excellent
Courtesy of staff, cleanliness of the room, secondary matters like absenceof magnifying mirror for shaving in bathroom and wi-f malfunctioning in the room but impeccable in the lobby
The excellent service of everyone at the hotel, the comfortability, and good taste of the rooms. It was a very nice experience staying there. The best hotel in Quimper. The hotel has no lift but if anyone has a problem there are good rooms in the ground floor too.
The location was great. The room was very pleasant, nicely decorated and situated overlooking a garden courtyard. The staff was pleasant. The parking was difficult. The breakfast room was austere.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and welcoming hotel No restaurant, Parking limited
Excellent location. Nice family rooms Found one membeer of staff very rude and dismissive
Location of hotel is excellent, right on the beach. The restaurant overlooks the sea which is beautiful and the food is very good.Room was comfortable with fabulous sea view. Restaurant seemed to be lacking in organisation. The staff were a bit disorganised and not very attentive, which is a bit typical of service in France in general. One young waitress who seemed rather 'grumpy' at first did end up being attentive towards us eventually after we tried to use our sense of humour with her. The restaurant needs to be open longer hours also, particularly in holiday season. The receptionist told us that we could order the set menu ( it was 9.30pm) but when we went inside to order we were told that was no longer possible as it was too late!! Also felt a little rushed in ordering food as the chef wanted to go home so if we wanted a dessert we had to order it at the beginning of our meal.
The hotel is located directly on the beach. Rooms are small, but have a large balcony. Book seaview on the first and second floor. dinner is average, but there are several restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast is excellent.
nice food in the restaurant especillay seafood. location is in front of the beach. small room, poor bathroom.
I never was in such a clean hotel, our room was always perfectly made. Aswell the location of the hotal is perfect, directly at the beach. The childrens menu at the restaurant was outstanding, as it had an entree of raw vegetables and some meat, a maindish with 4 plates as choice and ice cream for dessert. The childrens corner of the restaurant was a bit half-heartedly kept, as they had pens for painting, but no paper. Aswell the games they had, were mostly broken/ incomplete, and not really ideal for the short time play between dishes. I would advice to take some own toys like cars, or paper for painting with you.
Friendliness of staff. Proximity to beach.
Location and comfort, easy atmosphere, food very good No
The natural, surrounding environment Breakfast should be included. Room was way too small. Too expensive relative to other area hotels
This is a great place. All refurbished so our room was absolutely pristine. Good dinner and excellent breakfast. Location right on the beach and our room looked onto it - the waves were probably 20 feet from us. Staff were friendly and efficient. We wished we had stayed longer.
located directly on beach front so perfect for children. very quiet and peaceful. evening food very good, but not much choice for children. service very slow in restaurant.
Very fair rates, good breakfast, friedly staff, good facilities (restaurant and parking etc) The location in an industrial area (but it did not matter, the centre of Quimper is only a 10 min drive away).
Internet not realy
easy to find near a big road junction. ok for an overnight stop en route to somewhere else. clean tiny, dated rooms, could do with updating
Convenient stopover when exploring Brittany. WiFi available. Small bathroom, breakfast a bit too expensive.
Room was clean and staff were friendly The standard of English was not high amongst the staff that were on duty during my stay but maybe I should put myself out and learn some more french!!!!
The staff was very helpful.
The rooms were quite the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good
meals and breakfast particulary good
Dinner, Bed & Breakfeast, all okay found dinner very enjoyable.
The staff were friendly, the cuisine was varied and tasty and the location was easy to access
The location is excellent, right across from train station. The bed was comfy, the AC was wonderful (it was quite warm on the day I stayed (first week of Sept), and having it be adjustable is perfect), free wi-fi worked fine for me, and all around, it was a great stay. The price is on the high side, but it was worth it for a nice room like this. Would have preferred a bathtub at such a price, but not a big deal. It would be improved by having a place to put luggage (there was a closet, though).
The location - close to the railway station - was our first reason for selecting the hotel. The room was small - no facilities for making tea/coffee in the room.
Room, welcome, reception staff. Weekend breakfast choice was very reduced compared to the weekday breakfast. Rediculously long walk from reception to floor 4 using two lifts!
nice hotel, recently refurbished, friendly staff. not expensive.
The location was great. No more that 5 minutes into the city center. The rooms were a tad small but were very modern and clean. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to someone going to Quimper.
I was difficult to believe that this Mercure really had 3 stars. We have never seen such a small toilett/washing room!!! To access the hotel-garage, you needed to be an excellent driver in order not to hit the walls
There was a garage for parking which did not involve lifts. Room was comfortable Location opposite the station and noisy bars nextdoor. A fair walk into the town centre.
Very modern chic, tidy decor. No
Kindness of the staff, help about my lost baggage. No room or space for people who is smoking. But I know that it is low in EU.
Very new and given its category (2 star) extremely luxurious. very clean. very modern equipped and a breakfast buffet that was one of the best I ever saw! The rooms were quite small but that's o.k. for the price/hotel category. The court in the backyard was still not finished but there was no noise or any inconvenience resulting.
