Good location, relaxing ambiance
Comfortable and elgant hotel, exceeded our expectations. Staff were attentive, very pleasant and helpful
we ahve returned to the westminster 20 years after our first stay. he had a lovely relaxing time and the staff were lovely, polite and friendly. My only concern , I tried to speak in French and now they all politely respond in English - ha ha, we wont leave it 20 years next time.Kindest regards,Lisa-Jane Fraser
Beautiful hotel in superb location. Our room, a classic double, was comfortable with two adults, child and baby. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit limited and expensive.
Think some proper pillows would help and obviously some shower curtains or shower screens on the bath, otherwise it's like a shower room.
Location, friendly staff, pleasant corner room Would have liked to have had an enclosed shower in the bathroom. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Cost of eating at hotel restrictive for a family of four
Excellent situation close to the centre of town - free courtesy car parking - spacious size of the bedrooms
It was part of a birthday trip for my wife and she enjoyed it so it was a success.
The hotel is near the town Hotel room was quite small and the restaurant prices are very high. I have stayed in other hotels in the area which I think are better value for money.
Staff were very friendly and the room was clean. We chose not to have breakfast as we felt it was extremely expensive. The beds were very hard which meant we didn't sleep very well. The indoor swimming pool was very cold and was full of children most of the time.
Didn't stay at the hotel long enough to form a complete opinion, a one night stay is hardly sufficient to be able to judge, however, the very short stay was enjoyable enough and the hotel facilities seemed adequate. Very comfortable room although extremely hot without any real facility to adjust the heating, it was either very hot or hot... Having said that I would not have any objections to staying at this hotel again even though it is not exactly on the economical side.
Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and relaxation at the hotel. It is conveniently located within easy reach of many beautiful villages and towns in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
it's comfortable, easy access to the town by foot. no
facilities, staff, room layout and furnishings nothing
The is a nice sweimming pool, a tennis court on the roof and location is very good.
Excellent on site facilities A liitle inconvenient for the Town Centre, but since the hotel can't be moved it's the price ti pay for the other benefits.
spacious and bright
Warm and cosy room with good bathroom facilities. Very good breakfast, lots of parking and friendly staff. The only downside was the distance from the town centre, although walkable on a fine day, not so on a very wet november week end.
Original and interesting architecture. Hotel staff is attentive and friendly.
Excellent continental breakfast
The hotel is well-situated opposite the beach and parking. Easy access to town and shopping. Staff friendly and helpful. Being picky, I'd be happier with a shower rather than a bath.
Accessibility' cleanliness, hospitality; variety in breakfast; decor no adverse comment
nice room with balcony overlooking the sea
Welcoming staff. Easy free car parking opposite. The room smelt slightly of stale smoke.
Good beach location and proximity to Nausicaa Aquarium, short walk into town centre, staff friendly, room clean and fairly comfortable, free parking literally across the road. No curtains in the room so had to use hangers from their rail and hang jumpers up, sea view rooms can get a bit noisy due to the road especially when motorcyclists arrive en masse.
Location was ideal, room was ideal and good value for money. Location was 2 mins from beach and 2 mins from bars and restaurants. Hotel was modern and clean, perfect little hotel for an easy relaxing stay. Doesn't have the facilities of a larger more expensive hotel, but certainly a great little place for what is only a 2 star. It has everything you need considering there's so much on your doorstep there's little point in paying for the extra's in other hotels. Due to the hotel's building, noise can be a bit of a problem if you're a light sleeper, creeking floorboards, neighbours etc. But no real issue.
The rooms were decorated very nicely, comfortable and very clean... The tea and coffee tray didn't have any milk and teaspoons missing also no bin in bedroom area, breakfast was lovely except the boiled eggs were tasted awful....Would also have liked one english channel on TV maybe CNN....
very good value
Close to town centre and sea front---easy walk to everywhere! Noise from street market setting up on Sat morning--no tea-making facilities in room.
Very small room, shower had to be hand held and decor in general shabby.
The young lady who welcomed us, and looked after us during our stay was charming, and very, very helpful. The hotel is central, and 3 times a week there is a market immediately beside the hotel, which we found fun, and very interesting. The hotel is minutes away from the boutique-type shops and the sea-front. A wonderful location! We'll be verty happy to return to BE Cottage. It was a very enjoyable experience, but it was November, the weather wasn't the best, and there were road-works going on. However, when completed the results will certainly enhance the area.
Good location, pleasant room but not luxurious Thin walls therefore a bit noisy. No key for safe - they did try to find it - so couldn't use it
Rooms very nice and clean No tea making facilities
Staff were friendly, excellent location, convenience offree hotel car par fantastic, very easy to get to. Referbished rooms very nice. Would stay again. Thw only 2 downsides were no tea/coffe making facilities in room & all channels on tv were french.
for the price we paid, via discount the hotel was good value for money
Lack of reasonably priced food and vending machines
the location entertainements in the evening and the size of the room for the value
Very comfortable hotel. Staff were really polite and wecolming. Breakfast has a great selection.
We liked the situation next to the sea.
The relaxed atmosphere, the quiet, the excellent beach location, rom service, quality of the food. The price of breakfast.
We have stayed there before and just like the ambience and the view of the sea in the morning when you draw the curtains.
The beach beside the hotel - it's lovely The swimming pool only was open during the day, so we couldn't go for an evening or morning swim which we'd planned on doing. The live music in the bar was far too close to the bedrooms and meant that my 4-year-old struggled to get to sleep.
Excellent mattress. Food much better than expected. Excellent choice at breakfast and dinner. There was only a Bar area and no "alcohol free" Lounge area.
Eating in the restraunt while looking out over the beach and sea. Not a wide choice of menu
the welcoming reception which is 24hour. the bar too i believe is 24 hour. the breakfast which we had brought to the room was excellent. the room very comfortable, and the jet shower was great. we'd definately stay again. nothing.
rooms clean beds comfortable good location short walk to beach and restaurants easy to find hotel car park very small parking close to the hotel can present a problem breakfast rather pricy for what was on offer
Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable room. Excellent shower.
room was comfortable and had a good spacious shower and was lovely and warm It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room as we like to have a cup of tea on rising in the morning
Good value family rooms, wi-fi Reception staff lacking enthusiasm (poor recommendation for restaurant - it was closed), poor soundproofing, especially between floors
Modern, clean and convenient for centre of town, easy to find. Small point- secure parking within hotel premisies very restricted. On street parking OK though, but obviously not secure
The breakfast room was small and choice of breakfast poor, just not of the quality expected in such a lovely hotel
Good, recently modernised hotel. Cleanliness was on the whole good, except for the odd hair on the bathroom floor!
The hotel is in a convenient position for the Tunnel. It is right in the centre of Wimereux. The bathrooms (we had 2 family rooms) are very clean, but rather squashed, especially the bath itself. The beds are clean and comfy. Breakfast is too expensive for a family , at 11 euros per person with no concessions for children over 8. We found a perfectly pleasant boulangerie to have breakfast at 6 or 4.5 euros per person, depending on the breakfast chosen. It's the second time we've stayed there and would do so again. Jan Wilde
Good quality Hotel, a little expensive but in keeping with the quality. Restaurant was a little too formal for younger children
A wonderful hotel, a real gem of a find ! Loved the artwork all throughout the hotel as well as the overall design - very spacious rooms. The swimming pool / spa is also worth a mention, much bigger than I had anticipated. All in all, an excellent hotel. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Le Touquet. Can't really think of anything we didn't like.
Greeting was excellent, service excellent., Restaruant and its service excellent
relaxed atmosphere, well trained staff,no pressure to buy, well laid outeasy to find.Plenty to do none
I liked the furniture in the foyer, very relaxing, nicely laid out with pleasant atmosphere. We stayed in room 406 recently refurbished but understand a lot of the rooms on other floors are not so nice from the reviews
size of room, wi-fi, comfortable bed, easy to park car. too hot in the building as a whole, shabby decor, worn out fittings in the bathroom.
its location its decor and services were not what i would expect for the price
The bar and restaurant were well and unusually designed. Looby area comfotable and hotel staff very helpful. Double-glazing effect so room was quiet. Tempur-style mattress was a new experience. Room fittings very tatty, tired and worn; e.g. loose handles, no toilet-roll holder, cheap shower curtain, safe not attached to wall, very thin curtains so room not dark at night. Carpetting in room and corridors marked, wrinkled and looked old. Downstairs restaurant buffet expansive but food quite mediocre, mains course was good however.
THe situation of the hotel, and the friendly nature of all the staff we encountered. Good car parking The decor of the dining area was unusual not to say bizarre for a hotel of the age and situation of the Mercury, and same could be said of the other public areas
the food no
Excellent staff and attention to detail. Secure parking was also a bonus. The room is very well eqipped and clean. The food in the restaurant was good but the staff were not attentitive, which uis disappointing to say this has a good reputation.
Easy access to beach, meal at the hotel (excellent), great breakfast The tiles of the ceiling of our room moved (with the wind) when the baclcony doors were open
The location was good and the rooms were very comfortable There was building work being carried out with loud drilling noises present during the day. Although this did not affect the enjoyment of our stay, we should have been warned of this.
Very clean. Wonderful location across the street from Nausicaa. Easy to find. Staff spoke English. Wonderful breakfast. Great but pricey (other than prix fixe menu) restaurant.
Excellent restaurant, facilities and welcome Uk tv channels have variable reception dependant on room. Breakfast expensive
Excellent hotel! Great location, great room, friendly staff, good parking arrangements, very good breakfast.
The Hotel was good and the receptions staff helpful Breakfast was not that good and the young lady needs to take a lesson on being a bit more friendly
Convenient location. Friendly staff. Overpriced. Whilst decor suggests 'luxury', quality of room was basic and, as such, expensive for the money. The same could be said of breakfast.
The De La Matelote resturant next door was fantastic. The room clean. The hotel staff average considering this is a tourist destination Price was too high for what was delievered
It's comfortable, spacious and very central to the town. It's the second time we've stayed there this year. It was primarily to visit the town, but had the hotel not been good, we'd have selected another on the second trip.
Peaceful atmosphere, courteous staff, beautifully appointed room and ensuite, comfortable public rooms. Free parking in the square fronting the hotel. Central location in a town full of history and charm. Did not have its own resturant but there were plenty of reasonable eating places in the town. The TV in room did not appear to have English speaking channels. A mini bar would have been useful.
Very welcoming. They have renovated a bit since our last stay a few years ago Room thermostats not turned up before arrival
The room was comfortable and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. I would have liked parking to be included in the room rate. To be fair the hotel staff when asked where the entrance to the hotel car park was located said I could park free in the square in front of the hotel.
Position Room was small and plain. Things worn. Needs redcoration. No power plug at the desk.
Very nice, large, spacy and quiet hotel. The executive double room is large and comfortable. Nice location in old city, central for many trips to other places of interest along the coast and inland. The adjacent restaurant is very good, superb food (but not cheap). Breakfast OK.
It was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Some of the furniture in the corridors was broken and the displays looked tired, otherwise it was fine.
Excellent and comfortable room, pleasant and very helpful staff, very good buffet breakfast with the one reservation below Unusually the offer of bacon, sausage and scrambled egg on the buffet, likely for a largely British clientele. But unfortunately the British influence extended to the scrambled eggs, which were awful and worthy of an English hotel.
Building itself is very attractive and there is good parking in the square just by the hotel. English speaking reception staff if you need this. Not very good value for money - rooms were fairly ordinary, some shabby paintwork and bathroom tiling in the rooms - we stayed in 2 different ones plus were allocated a room which we asked to change because the window didn't close securely on the ground floor. There was nothing wrong with this hotel, and the location was great for what we needed, but I probably wouldn't stay there again.
Nice and quiet, big rooms with kitchenette was a bonus. There was no kettle in the room, so could not make tea.
Staff were friendly and tolerant of my appalling French; the facilities in the triple room were more than adequate and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Good sign-posting made it quite easy to find as well.
The staff we helpful and friendly, the rooms were more than adequate and the surroundings were very pleasant and quiet, the breakfast was good but basic, my party would use thia hotel again, as it was cheap and good value for money. the rooms could do with a bit modernisation and the tv were a bit small
Great to have our own kitchen facilities, perfect for our needs Would have liked a microwave in the kitchen
Although basic it suited our needs andthe fact that I could cook a snack for my children was excellent The floor in the apartment could have been swept better.
Wonderful welcome. Well-appointed room set out perfectly for a family
rooms were cold and staff not very helpful but I guess as all we wanted was a cheap room it was OK
Room was functional and good for purpose. Nice location. Breakfast was far too expensive for what you got.
Internet connection (Wi-fi) no
Staff very good and helpful especially in dining area and also young man who helped us with bags None save that the exchange rate of £ with euro has caused us to select option above as good value for money.2 Years ago with euro worth 60 pence our bill would have represented excellent value for money
The location is very good and out of the ordinary, and of course the food outstanding
We always like staying at Hotel Atlantic and note each year the tasteful improvements that have been made. It is a great place to relax at the start or end of our holiday and one day I'm sure we shall stay for a week-end. We have been coming for about 14 years!
Convenient position, parking adjacent, choice of restaurant . The staff were excellent and as we have been before this hotel created a good impression. Would come again if we are in the vacinity. Would have preferred a proper, illuminated shaving/make-up mirror. Also the duvet was too thick and it was not possible to manage without.
Clean modern hotel. Sea front location. Stewed coffee at breakfast(an extra cost for a very ordinary breakfast)No english channels on tv despite most couples appearing English during stay. Not well sign posted from town.
Very good location secure parking rooms excellent very comfortable beds helpful staff.
Superb room overlooking the sea, good food and service.
the hotel is now very smart indeed and the restaurant is just as good as ever , which is pretty good
Its aspect, food, and comfort.
Relaxed and helpful staff. Good meals.
this was the find of our trip. Only a 2 star but worth more in my opinion. Staff were really helpful and the restaurant was superb. This town was the special spot of our trip. Nothing - everything was really good.
We were traveling by motornike and they garaged this at night at no extra charge, helpful staff, room excellent very clean. some have bath some just a shower. Did not have the breakfast but looked ok if a little expensive but think that is just the euro rate There are no hotels in the centre of Hardelot this one pf the nearest takes about 15-20 mins to walk into town
Nice atmosphere, obviously well run We have young/teenage daughter and friend, we would have eaten in the restaurant but the menu was too "sophisticated" for them so we had pizza in town.could be they are missing out on customers as the hotel is used by english for overnighters
The Restaurunt was excellent, with good food and service The room was adjacent to the car park and was noisy. The bathroom had no hand grips to assist getting in and out and the bath had no bath mat.
Staff friendliness, room size, tranquillity, Billed as a 2 star but worth 3, good value for money. Quality evening meal. Will return & recommend to friends. Bathroom a bit dated, shower door needed attention.
Large, comfortable room. Good location - pleasant 15 mins stroll to the beach. Breakfast was basic but more than adequate.
Very comfortable hotel, and the room decoration was attractive.Beds were also very comfortable. The veranda was a very attractive addition and unexpected, and regrettably the poor weather did not allow us to take advantage of this.! One tv channel in English would be fine... say CNN or whatever. However, this is not really an important point, and was only highlighted because of poor weather. ( A tv set which allows you to play your own DVD's would be marvellous, as certainly travellers would carry their own films of choice, and it would certainly be a huge bonus for family groups travelling in poor weather. )
Good location, friendly staff and a good restaurant. The breakfast was very average
Ideal location for Cross Channel crossing. We stayed one night on a busy Saturday and the room was very clean, quite large and very comfortable. The hotel is within 20 minutes walk of a large beach with bars and restaurants available. Restaurant is quite expensive and slow service although this could be because it was very busy.
Central location to town & sea.Requests for canal/river view, car parking all met.All staff very friendly & helpful.Price very reasonable comparitively. We stopped at a hotel by "Nausica" in Boulogne, paid 20 euro more & though it had a very fancy reception/foyer the room was no better & it's a longer walk in to town. Shower a very tight fit.If you like a late night drink it has to be taken to your room as floor cleaning is in progress.
Good location - close to the town and everywhere. Fairly pretty port. Not far from Calais, where we arrived (20 minutes). The hotel had very good parking. The breakfast was very good - great variety. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was surprisingly powerful; although if you put too much pressure the shower head moved upwards and sprayed everything except you! The staff were friendly and spoke more English than we did French but that's not hard!Still, had a great time - if you have a sense of humour, please stay at this hotel - those of you who were born in the same era, "Fawlty Towers"! Very, very, very, very, very, very, tiny room! Smaller than we ever expected. We could have had a "wee" in the tiny, tiny, tiny toilet/bathroom from the position of the bed - About 2 steps away! The bathroom door did not shut properly so we were glad that we have been together so long that going to the bathroom/toilet/etc, wasn't too embarrassing for us - not great if you are having your "first" overnight stay with your loved one. The tv position was rubbish. The pillows were flat and gave no support on the verge of being uncomfortable. However, my partner (David) enjoyed the matinee on tv of a lovely French Lesbian film which started at around 3.00pm to his enjoyment/amazement and my "oh my god, really?" Reaction - thank goodness our children were at home with grandparents!
Convenient situation for seeing Boulogne on foot. Clean and had all we needed-comfortable beds and ensuite. Very good value. Although we managed to park ok, directions for parking shpould be made clearer as one approaches the hotel. This is important as it is in a one- way street and a long detour has to be made to get back.
It was all we wanted after a long trip - most importantly, with a comfortable bed. The hotel would have been easier to find in the dark if the actual name of the hotel had been visible from the other side of the river .
Plenty of free parking space. Room, bedding and toilet/shower room very clean. Good view of the marina/harbour and Cathedral up in the old town. Plastic folding door to toilet/shower room very flimsy and coming away from the wall - should be a more solid door for privacy. The toilet flush mechanism broke (but this was quickly fixed when we reported it)
Two little sweets on the bath towles Very small bathroom
Convenient for shops and restaurants Very poor condition and comfort of the hotel
Staff all very attentive & cheerful & helpful! Cleanliness of rooms. No lifts - not ideal for the elderly with walking difficulties.
Convenient location. Good private parking facility. Helpfull staff. Evening meal menu very overpriced. Breakfast meats and cheeses not fresh.
People at the front desk later on than 11pm Breakfast (paid appart) is not that continental or english
We didn't stay long because we were going further south and the weather was poor. The hotal restaurant was excellent.
The room was okay but we did not eat at the hotel too expensive 14 euros to park overnight was expensive parked on road outside
Location and staff excellent. we dined in the restaurant and as always it was fantastic. I think the car parking charge at 14 euros is too high. We paid the firstnight but parked in the square adjacent the second, a more reasonable rate and we would have parked both nights.
No pretensions. Got what you paid for. Very relaxed.
Food excellent - menu terroir interesting and good value - excellent cheese table. Attractive courtyard layout - quiet rooms . Bathroom decor
The food The room we had on the first night was cramped and uncomfortable.
Our room was nice and clean and the heating system was excellent. Breakfast was good, with excellent service. The location is great, being only an hour and a quarter from Calais and half an hour from Le Touquet. Montreuil, and Hesdin, which is half an hour further inland, are both excellent for shopping and eating out. Lock-up parking was offered at €14 a night. We declined and parked by our room. On leaving, our bill included €28 for parking. They said parking by our room was also chargable, and a notice displayed outside stated that. Unfortunately, the writing was small, so we hadn't been able to read it. We'd booked a table for the Saturday night and were greeted cordially, and offered an aperitif on arrival. After our 2 Dubonets arrived we found out they cost €8 each - you can buy a litre for €8.25! We chose the cheapest menu (€40 each). After our starters, it took over an hour for our main courses to arrive. My fish and my partner's beef were both too tough to eat. Sad - we stayed and ate there before, really enjoyed it, and didn't feel overcharged.
The reason we coming back to this hotel is the fantastic resturant - makes it a great weekend treat.
cheeful plite staff
The meal was excellent but the room was poor
Beautiful setting with lovely grounds making for a relaxing stay.
The rooms were excellent and the building is very special as is the location near the town's ramparts
A very French experience, lovely suite, traditionally decorated. Excellent food, wine and restaurant service No access to room till 3pm, but as we arrived early we were told that we could get in at 1pm, so waited around 45 mins, then told not ready, be another 30 mins, then told come back at three. We wasted a couple of hours doing this.
It is utterly charming, well situated in an interesting and historic part, and the staff and courtesy and design of the rooms are excellent. The rain!
Extremely pleasant and helpful staff who go out of their way to make one's stay enjoyable. Lovely lounge area to relax in. Excellent service and very good food. We have stayed here several times and the quality has remained consistently good.
Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms and a good selection at breakfast
welcoming staff, comfortable room,v good restaurant & fairly good breakfast
All the staff were polite and informative, easy parking. Very good breakfast. Food was good except the cicken main course, we were offered a replacement.
Very friendly & helpful staff
Pleasant surroundings, very pleasant room with sofa. Breakfast was reasonable without being outstanding. Good parking available Prices for drinks
The hotel restaurant is not child friendly, despite the staff saying it was. We felt unwelcome because of this.
My wife and I like the rooms - spacious and comfy, which is why we have stayed there on many occasions.
The fact that we were not disturbed by cleaners on a Sunday morning and the quiet setting. The bar had realistic prices. The final bill was more than advertised on the web. We were charged for breakfast before we were asked if we had had any. This was then removed from the bill. The price of breakfast was dearer than suggested when we booked on line, so we went elsewhere out of principle.
Small and perfectly formed!! Small rooms but so expertly fitted out. Everything you could need. Comfort very good. The staff were very accommodating. My French is not good so we had some French lessons. Thank you Elodie!!! If you want a large bedroom then this is not for you but the comfort and kindness of the staff more than makes up for room size. Adequate lounge and bar so you don't have to sit in your room!!!
All rooms very well appointed if a little small. Very nice reception area but bar closes at 10pm so do not expect a late drink
The staff were welcoming and friendly, the rooms are small but well designed and spotlessly clean. Perfect for a stopover without having to be in central Calais. Nothing!
price small rooms .no english menu
we loved the room, small but clean ,very modern, nice large shower & excellent bedlinen.Good breakfast, plenty of parking spaces & friendly staff.Good value.
Clean, comfortable rooms, good situation Staff not very friendly
