The ambiance room and nostalgia of the design
The landscaping has deteriorated a bit compared to what I remember.
Very neat old place.
We really liked the bar, pool, and over all feel and lay-out of the place. The staff were all great, as well as the food at the neighboring 'Smoke' restaurant.
We weren't put in the room that we were originally told we would be put in. Upon booking through Kayak, I was under the impression we would have a split level room "loft" with 2 beds, and a small outdoor seating area right out side the door. Upon arrival I was put in a regular room(#11), 2 queen beds, and no out side access at all. Not a big deal, and not worth complaining about to the staff, as the room we were put in was very nice with a great AC. Only conclusion I could come to was maybe the shuffled us around since we booked through Kayak instead of through them directly.
A little unusual
There were nice views. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The bed was a little hard for my liking. The room was right over a busy street and traffic noise kept me up most of the night. The parking is on the other side of a restaurant from the hotel and you have to climb stairs or a hill to get back to the hotel after parking. The vanity in the restroom is just a sink with no counter space for toiletries.
Great customer service
The Belmont has a quaint charm. The staff went out of their way to be courteous and accommodating.
I would have liked a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. The bathrooms need remodeling.
Amazing staff here, willing to go the extra mile! Fun weekday night, despite the horrible weather. Would love to come back in wRm weather for pool, music and dive in movie nights!!
Mediterranean Staycation
The entire ambiance of the Belmont was breathtaking. It was a slice of the mediteranean style villas nestled away with a beautiful view of the downtown skykine. The suite soaking tub made for a very romantic getaway. My fiance and I spent the late nights taking in the dallas skykine nestled up to each other in the chairs living in the moment.
I booked based on the soaking tub to be honest. When i verified my room and found that the soaking tub rooms were a $60 a night premium i was dismayed. Then i found that the free parking was off premises in an unsafe area of dallas and that it was another $15 a day per vehicle to park by the rooms. the bill ended up almost twice the booked cost. It was a very romantic getaway. But not one I will repeat for our frequent weekend getaways.
I loved everything.
Great place but...
I can easily hear next doors conversation at 2AM! Not only they were pretty loud but the wall is definitely not thick enough!
