Cons: Waiting 45 minutes curbside watching all other rental car companies shuttles pass by dozens of times. Waiting in line to get car for hour plus. No one to return car to. I am a business traveler and have never in all my travels experiernced such short comings of a rental car company.

New to DFW. Won't earn my business again

Cons: Due to plane issues we were more than 2 hours. Late to pick up rental. Place was a kiosk not a desk- shuttle driver didn't know they existed. Because I was late, I was charged twice what I had agreed to pay. I was told because it was OU/TX weekend that prices were increased. The Nissan Rogue I had reserved was what I got. They only had about 20 cars to choose from. Only 1 other was rented. Rogue immediately had tire pressure lights come on and floor was not clean.

Pros: Only 4 minutes by uber from love field. Inexpensive.
Initially the guy wanted to give me an SUV, but I explained how long I waited and he ended up giving me a full size.
Cons: Pick up took me 1.5 hours. I showed up at 10:30 with a reservation for noon, waited in line for 30 minutes, and was told to come back at noon because "I might be given someone else's car". I showed up at noon, waited for 30 minutes. They finally brought someone from DFW who knew what he was doing.

Long wait and add on charge for out of state
Cons: Waited forty minutes or more to get car. And then was charged extra for going out of state despite having unlimited miles on the rental. I would have gone with a different company. The price difference did not make up for the add on charge.

Never use again
Cons: Called two hours before my flight landed to let them know it was going to be late and to find out what time they closed. They told me midnight. I showed up at 11:40 and no one was there and the lights were off. The sign there said they closed at 12. The driver of the shuttle said that they do this often to people and leave them stranded. I ended up having to rent from another place that was double the price. When I called to try and get some sort of compensation, they said they would send it to their boss and get back to me. It's been 3 days since then and I've heard nothing.

Cons: First of all They tried to over charge me by $130. and I'm still fighting with them about that. But what really had me angry is I accidentally left a brand new pair of shoes in the car. Still I'm the box and everything. These were a birthday gift from my Military son whom I hadn't seen in a long time and who I was just returning from seeing. Well anyway I left them and realized it a few minutes down the road. Well of course I turned around and went back for them and was told that they would have to return them in the morning per policy. Well I called them back this morning and they told me there wasn't anything left in the car!!! Their employees STOLE my property!!! And now the manager won't even call me back!

Pros: The young lady at the main counter was very nice and courteous.
Cons: Van took too long to pick me up from the airport. I saw multiple other rental car agency vans come and go for over 30 minutes before mine showed up. When I got to the lot, I had to go look for somebody to show me to my car. The office is just a run down, dirty, old trailer. The car lot is a small make-shift rental car lot. It almost looks like the company is squatting on somebody else's parking lot. The car was not very clean and it vibrated like the tires needed to be balanced. The car made an annoying beeping sound every time I drove over 35 mph. When I returned the car, I had to, again, go find somebody to help me. Not a very professional operation and I will never rent from them again.

Pros: The shuttle driver was professional and courteous.
Cons: The drop off location at "dallas love airport" was actually not at the airport but located several miles away in a parking lot with a trailer. no staff was waiting to take the car. it took 30 minutes to find the location and calling the rental car company did not help as the i was on hold the entire time. also googe maps marked the location in the airport. once found it took at least 15 minutes for someone to inspect the car before i could get to the airport. as a result i missed the flight and was looking at an extra 245$ to get another flight out the next day
Pros: There was nothing to like. Kayak representatives failed to be helpful/resourceful in supporting me to resolve the issue of no rental available at Enterprise Rental, after the flight I booked on Kayak was delayed and therefore no car was available at the airport, when I arrived. The representatives had a "not our problem" response to my concerns regarding the debicle. I ended up spending triple the amount the rental to retrieve my sick mother and get her back to Dallas international to go back to Los Angeles. No Bueno Kayak.

Pros: My experience with the staff was fantastic. I love the fact that the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to the best of their abilities. Going the extra mile to assist us with the issue for which we encountered great service their rendered for my family and I. A staff afford me the used of his personal cellular phone.
Cons: I love the fact that all of the staff tried very hard to accommodate my family and I. We ended with Alamo which is the same company great service and different policy I respect all policy however when you have guest visiting from another country management should be empowered to except cash, if it is the only method of payment. The reservation that we had with Enterprise was not at the air port, when we arrived they were closed. we did not check our booking therefore we could only be accommodated for one night if we cancel are reservation. We had a long drive of two hours drive to Wichita Falls that night so we had to cancel just to get a car that night. which cost us in the end more than sixteen hundred dollars verses eight hundred and eleven dollars twenty four cents which was the cost of the reservation.

Pros: I got a rental in Dallas since it was cheaper to fly to DFW and drive the 3 hours to my boyfriend instead of flying to him. I originally had a small economy car (Kia or similar) but once I got there Erica asked if I would mind a free upgrade. I ended up with a Jeep, and she also waived my gas fee since I had to get a suv. The jeep was great and Erica was great, drop off was easy! Great experience I'll definitely be using Enterprise again!

Cons: I am on the bus heading toward the rental place when I get a call that none of their locations had cars at the moment but a car would be available on Monday (this was a Wednesday). The next day on my trip to Austin they called to tell me that there was a car available. Nope I already moved on to Budget. Lesson learned: when making a reservation online, call the property to ensue they actually have vehicles.

I thought that was a dumb restriction. When asked why they didn't mention it during the booking they said it's only in southern areas so they don't mention it.

Be careful! DFW doesn't always mean what you think
Pros: The people at the DFW Enteptrise counter were so nice and saved my tail, honored my other booking, and I ended up in a new Nissan SUV to boot
Cons: When you search DFW on Kayak the results aren't just for DFW but for all of Dallas. So if you sort by lowest price you're almost guaranteed that those rentals won't actually be at DFW because of the high airport taxes, also I searched for pickup in terminal and DFW doesn't have that. I learned the hard way when I arrived at DFW and found out my rental was 30 minutes away at Love Field. Thankfully the friendly folks at DFW saved my tail or otherwise my family, including 2 exhausted toddlers, would have been stranded. Check the address of your rental pickup before you reserve!
Cons: Check in line was out the door. Only two people checking in for national and Alamo even though so many of us had rented from Alamo. Lots of repeat information had to be given, which is ridiculous. My license is on file with you guys. And I've already given the credit card to reserve the car. Why do I have to go through this ridiculous process every time?!?

Pros: Car pickup at DAL was very easy, with not too long of a wait for the rental car shuttle. I was impressed with how integrated the rental through Kayak went with Alamo - I almost expected some confusion once at the rental facility. Car return was very easy, although the signage at the airport was a little lacking.

Not as advertised.
Pros: Car was clean and ran well with no problems other than an unknown rattling in the back of the vehicle whenever we hit a bump. Check out was fast.
Cons: We had made a reservation to pick up in one city and drop off in another. While Kayak implies that this is an hour by hour rental, we were charged for the full day on the day of our return. Alamo was not helpful in also starting the clock on our rental a half hour before we had left the lot.
Additonally, when we went to pick up the car, there was literally one option to choose from. When I say one option, I mean one vehicle and one vehicle only.
We may go out of our way to try a competitor next time.

Pros: Keitha at the Alamo counter was fantastic! I mistakenly booked my rental out of the wrong airport in Dallas, but she was great about getting us the same size car at a lower price than what we were booked at previously.
Cons: Line was unacceptably long with only three employees working when we picked up. Two hours late to drop off and was charged for an extra day. The car was okay, but could have been cleaner and a higher trim level. I rented a car in the same class in Portland the week before and it was miles better.

Pros: We had a car. Rental location in reference to the airport was good.
Cons: A few things to keep in mind. First and most important, the individual processing the paperwork never mentioned the e-toll convenience fee of $3.95 a day. We rented for the car for four days so paid $15.80 for a $1.73 toll. Seems fair.
Second, we rented a Jeep Patriot 2WD. Not a great car so future renters, keep in mind and ask for something else in that car class.
Third, customer service was ok, not great, but ok.

Pros: This app gave me one price and I paid 10 times that. A true bate and switch. The app said 14 $ a day. It was 4 days for 370$ that is not 14 a dad.
The agent canceled my resevertion made with this app said she could get me a better deal.
Anyway it sucked. A car is a car, only difference is the cost, service is all the same where ever you go.

Cons: I did pay only what was quoted me but upon pickup the sales agent tried to get me to add on several other fees and explained them poorly. Notably there fee for using their service for tolls was explained the worst. Already stressed out from traveling I spent the first day terrified that I would be paying more than anticipated for my rental.

Robbed due to Friday midnight definition

Cons: Had to reserve another car because of miscommunications between kayak and budget. Friday reservation by kayak was deemed Saturday reservation by Budget.
Instead of a $21 per night rate quoted and reserved through kayak, budget said I had to wait until midnight, the next day, to get that rate or pay $200 per night. Wtf? Kayak stated Friday 15 April midnight on the email I received; budget said that meant Saturday after 12:00am. I arrived at the Airport, Dallas Love Field, at 8:30pm. They would not let me have the car early inspite of me showing them the email stating it was 15 April. Anyways, I feel like Budget was trying to screw me because they had cars available and was charging $200 a day but would not let me get my car early.
Cons: paid $180 for the car - you had quoted much less (under $100)

Pros: Car was great on gas.
Cons: Service was terrible. It started with me booking the rental at the wrong airport. And I acknowledge this was my fault. The person at the counter said she would call me a taxis to get me to the correct Dollar site. I asked how much and she said $50. Well, she got me a car service that charged me $75. There was only one car to choose from. And the person booking me didnt want to redo the booking when I stated that only my husband would drive and the booking was under my name. The charge for the toll tag is ridiculous. The driver side door creaked every time we opened the door.

Pros: Decent car. Customer service wasn't bad, although no single employee could handle questions or conversations beyond the standard "script." If there is a fee or a policy you want to know more about, yours is not to reason why.
Cons: A car rental should not be similarly priced to a plane ticket. After insurance and taxes, it would have been only ten dollars more for me to have just taken a flight.

Could be worse... I guess.
Pros: Employees were helpful and friendly. Location was close to the airport.
Cons: Of the 2 car choices I had was one that smelt like an ashtray and made me nauseous to sit in for 20 secs. On to option 2, a car that sounded worse than a wounded mouse's dying moan while trying to accelerate. It barely accelerated on the highway (when absolutely needed) putting my safety in question.
For any price (mine was no dollar bargain) I got a piece of junk to drive.
When dropping off the car, service was not quick.
Car wasn't clean but like everything else it could have been worse.
Cons: Despite entering the airport code as a pickup point for the car, the reservation was made for a downtown city location 30 miles from the airport. Suspicious that the confirmation had an address on it without the word "airport," I'd called Hertz after making the reservation, and Hertz CONFIRMED that the pickup location was the airport.
The day before my trip, feeling unsure, I called Hertz again to confirm and was told the pickup point was downtown, that it was my error for making the reservation at the wrong location, that my price/reservation would not be honored at the airport location, and anyway there weren't any cars available. The agent on the phone seemed to be working from a call center and was obviously not familiar with American cities, travel problems, or general practices. She would not transfer me to a manager to talk to.
Obviously, Kayak has no dog in this hunt, since once the reservation is made, they sign off and check out. Thanks, Kayak, you were NO HELP AT ALL.
In the end, I had to make a last minute rental with another agency, which cost me $100 more than the original deal, and than I had planned to spend.
A really terrible experience all around. I've had two experiences with Kayak and both were as negative as this, so buh-bye Kayak! Your no-customer-service ability SUCKS.

Bait and Switch
Pros: Frontier truck was clean and great on gas mileage.
Cons: Called 1-800 number night before and they said i could pick up truck earlier. When i got to location 3 hours early they did not have truck! They couldn't even tell me if it would be ready for noon schedule. They sent a man to pick one up at Dallas airport and he came back without one. So i waited several hours for nothing. Seems they rented unit before guy got there. Then they transferred one in fro Mesquite. Waited again. Then truck arrived and I was able to leave after waiting past noon my scheduled time. The manager at location was great but had no support from regional team and was put in a terrible position. even 1-800 number customer service was poor! When I dropped off truck LAX rental team gave me a $40 voucher for dealing with issue! Hertz needs to work on customer service from booking and regional support of rental centers. Local teams were great but regional support was poor. Taking a 24 hr road trip was extended 4 hours due to Hertz inefficiency!
Hopefully this was a one time issue.

Hertz two locations 2 different services
Pros: Everything but the initial pick up location. The second location was excellent. I was treated with respect and offered what I needed. The car was comfortable clean no complaints there.
Cons: My first location had no car for me even though I had booked ahead. The customer rep was not nice and when I tried talking to her she was least bothered as a matter of fact eating McDonald's while I was having my melt down on not having the very car I was spotted to pick up. I eventually ended up in the downtown location and received the best service.

A car was finally located however it was not the size/type car that I rented. I called later to try to change the drop off location and was told that I was unable to change the location as it was a pre-paid rental.

Not what we asked for
Pros: We specifically asked for SUV like a Suburban. We called the day before pick up to confirm that because we were transporting a couple of pieces of antique furniture to a family member in Oregon. And were told all ok. Called again before pick we called to reconfirm told all is good. Size was key. On pick up we were give a small SUV Smaller by 12 inches in it's length. Avis was unappolagetic for this. This required us to braked down 3 boxes that were going on the trip and some how find room in the SUV before we could proceed with our trip.

Pros: We got a brand new car that was INCREDIBLE!!! It had a rear-view camera on the bumper to show the back-up scene. I just kept wanting to back up just to witness that feature. The ride was smooth. The inside temperature was perfect for all weather situations since it was individualized for each passenger. We went through rainy and hot days with ease. The staff at AVIS was very supportive, AMAZING, and super-fun!
Cons: The car kept losing connection with our phone telling us that the USB didn't support our smart phone for the GPS. We got lost 3 times because of that.

More hassle then it's worth
Pros: I liked the vehicle I got, the Kia Soul. It was comfortable and a easy vehicle to drive. However then did not clean it before it was rented to me so it stank like cigerate smoke and had dead bugs across the whole windshield.
Cons: When I went to pick up the car it was very busy and I waited 25+ minutes. When I finally got the car it was dirty and smelled terrible. There were bugs smeared all over the windshield and the inside was stained by cigerate smoke. However when I went to return the vehicle I pulled into park and there was a man yelling at me that I couldn't park there. I told him I had to drop off the car and he said he didn't care I couldn't park there. However this is were I had parked when I dropped the car off and several other people were already parked there. I said ok and drove around the block and parked on the street and went to return the keys. Then the lady at the desk told me I had to bring the car inside the garage because she couldn't move it if it was on the street. I went and tried to bring it into the garage and the man continued to yell at me (he worked for the hotel in the same garage) I said I was going to park there anyways and left the car and got out. He then proceeded to curse at me and tell me my car was going to be hit. I said thank you and went insdie and have the lady my keys and she immediately went out and moved the car. I just don't see what the big deal was for this man. Also the quote from Kayak was way lower then I actually paid. I was quoted $174 and actually paid $326. For these reason I will never go back to this location. They need to get some better parking options.

Cons: Pickup was quick but drop off took 30 min. One guy at the counter and several people waiting. Went much quick when someone else came to help.
Pros: Received a clean Camry for a great price. And the lady who received the car upon return was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Probably the slowest rental process I've ever had renting a car. Not really sure what the holdup was but very slow.

Cons: Arrived at two am to find they had no cars available. About five of us in line, all with reservations, turned around and rented from the two other open companies.

Pros: The front desk lady was compassionate in handling all her angry customers.
Cons: I arrived for a reservation at 6:00am and there were no cars available. I was the 15th person since 1:00am that had no car for their reservation. On top of everything, my car was reserved for an extra week longer than my original reservation and I was told I would have to pay for 8 days instead of one even though my receipts only showed they were to charge me one day. Management was not available and then showed up to work late. I finally contacted my credit card company so they would not fraudulently charge me $390 dollars! Horrible experience after flying for 12 hrs during the night.

Cons: You are only able to rent cars for local service. There is a 150 mile per day limit and GPS enabled tracking on the car. If you go outside of the Dallas Metroplex they claim to charge you a $2,000.00 penalty
