Great location, fre bud light draft from 5:30-6:30, free hot breakfast buffet (impressive spread on the weekends). Cool retro boutique vibe.
Weird smell in lobby, like cleaning agent masked with perfume. No dresser in our room to stash clothes, just a closet.
Elevator took too long.
Location. We walked to dinner. The high ceilings and large windows were very cool.
The pillows were cheap, the lighting was poor. Somewhat overpriced considering for $55 more we stayed in a very nice room in the Warwick the next night.
The lobby was beautiful, the valet staff was very attentive. Rooms are a bit small but clean and modern. Great location, you can walk to anywhere in downtown you'd want to go.
The elevators were being remodeled or something, they ran very slow. But at least they're working on the problem and gave us free drink tickets for the inconvenience.
From the valet to the front desk, everyone was pleasant. I found the level of customer service to be exceptional when compared directly to the cost. Had a corner suite on the 23rd floor -- fantastic views. I didn't have any issues with anyone or anything during my stay.
Slightly put off by the free drink ticket philosophy. I didn't expect much, but I got less than I expected. Would've preferred to get an actual drink and pay for it elsewhere instead of a bathroom cup of bottom shelf gin.
Elevators worked less than half the time we were there. Had to walk down 16 flights of stairs, had to ride the service elevator and it went down as well.
Nothing!! Will never stay again
The Magnolia Hotel is wonderfully located in the heart of downtown Dallas but only a 14 minute walk from the Convention Center. Shopping and dining are only steps away and the hotel has a boutique feel without lacking amenities. While it does have a somewhat "old" feel it was nonetheless clean and, but for the elevators, well maintained. I will definitely be a future guest.
Great location, great price, friendly staff.
It is a 26 story hotel. We were on the 19th floor and it only had 1 working elevator. I would think this is a safety issues and the hotel should not be operating with only one working elevator. We went in October of 2014 and were told that the elevator was not working in December 2013 (10 months prior). For this reason we would not stay at this hotel again.
A real breakfast in the mornings was a welcome surprise.
The elevators. They made our stay less than pleasant. Unbelievably slow.
Location very good
Did not like their Valet service
the breakfast area was a great place to lounge and be with family.
the elevators were painfully slow. only two of the four were funtional. long waits and being packed in like a cattle car put a damper on our otherwise nice stay.
The historic Magnolia Hotel was in excellent condition! The breakfast buffet was excellent, & the front desk staff & valet staff were excellent. The only negative was the lack of hotel security. One party returning from a local night life establishment was followed by a street criminal into the hotel facility & had to make some quick evasive maneuvers to avoid an assault & robbery.
