Easy to reach from the Highway. Rooms were basic, but clean. No shampoo included.
It was not as expensive as many other motels close to Boston It was hard to get to the hotel if you came from the north - none of the soda-maschines worked - no possibility for breakfast
Vinyl floors were fine, seemed cleaner then dirty old carpets. We found hair in the bed, pizza sauce on the telephone, the stifling smell of smoke in a nonsmoking room. The sheets were awful and all nubby. worst of all the power in part of the hotel was out all of the evening and half the night. It was clearly a problem with the hotel's electricity, not the weather. And at check out in the morning the staff informed us that there would be no refunds or discounts for our horrible night. We couldn't shower, use the a/c, charge our phones or even see to navigate the room. It was an absolute terrible experience and I wouldn't recommend staying in a motel 6 to any one.
Motel had not received booking from you when we arrived
Since our last stay there have been lots of changes. Much cleaner and updated a bit. Ice machine only working on once floor. No reminder at check- in to pay for wi- fi.
It was very clean. It looked like a barracks with the cement walls in the corridors and rooms. The mattresses were a little uncomfortable and the sheets scratchy.
no carpets, hardwood floors were clean Beds and pillows were awful. Had a spring in my ribs all night and the pillows just deflate when you lay your head down on them. slept poorly
I liked that there was an indoor pool. It was affordable and in a good location pool was closed for cleaning 2 hours the morning before we left. Kids wanted to swim that morning but couldn't
very near to the highway not clean at all!!!
Clean room ! Easy check in. Friendly staff
We liked the Euro feel and look of the wooden carpetless floor and sparse furniture. We could see it was clean, whereas most hotel carpets hide all sorts if nasties. The room could have been so much nicer with simple upgrades of comforters and better sheets. The thin old sheets and ratty blanket with cigarette burns was vulgar. The clerk told us no more blankets we'te available. When I complained that our TV didn't work, the clerk said he could nothng about it. My girlfriend got on the phone and demanded another room and we were moved up to the smoking floor, where the bathroom light didn't work. A new existential challenge for me, trying to successfully negotiate the toilet paper tumbler and what have you in the dark. Small fixes could truly make this a great value. But the inconveniences and cheap blanket proved too much for the $113 cost. If it cost $58 a night? Sure.
I would never stay there again! The staff was very nice and heloful, but the property is gross. The elevators were dirty and disgusting, the room although remodeled, was done in a very cheap way. The room felt dirty, the bedding was gross, the bath towels were tiny and rough and there was very little places to put things (the bathroom definitely needs a shelf). Mtg bath tub looked like someone vomited down the front of it and the freezer of my mini fridge was all ice ; cleanliness did not appear to be a priority.
convenience for the city transport system
It's proximity to the subway and the complimentary continental breakfast.
The great bedroom: big, good looking and with a confortable king-sized bed. The staff were very nice and always trying to help. A good breakfast, a nice neighbourhood... I really liked this hotel! No.
When I arrived, the employee working at the front desk was very helpful and kind. I felt comfortable and enjoyed my stay.
I liked that it was convenient and had availability. The price was ok, compared to what other hotels were going for around the area. i felt like it could have been cleaner. The room felt very damp, as if there had been no air but the air conditioning circulating the room. There were spiders every where - In the curtains, on the wall when I woke up, in the bathroom smashed on the wall. I couldn't wait to check out. The bed was terrible. It flt like it was very old mattress, extra soft and springy.
The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (plenty of food and variety).
Great location for visiting BU campus and proximity to the T line. Really appreciate the full breakfast and free internet. Near Whole Foods Grocery store for stocking up on supplies for the fridge or microwave use. The heating unit was noisy and difficult to control the temperature comfortably.
The front desk guy was really nice and accommodative. a stronger internet connection would have been good, and the continental breakfast should have been served until 11:00 am.
The modest breakfast offered in the lobby area as part of our room charge was convenient and allowed us to start our day quickly. The hotel's close proximity to Boston College was very helpful for anyone visiting the school. This is a hotel to use for one or two nights for practical reasons. It was a little difficult to locate, and just satisfied our minimum requirements for comfort, but we were happy to have the extra pocket money.
The Breakfast was excellent! The heater did not work. The room reached until 59 degrees, we notify front desk their answer was "in summer (September) they does not turn it on.
Location, free auto parking, generous complimentary breakfasts, very helpful staff at front desk no
The staff was especially helpful regarding tourist attractions, transportation, and restaurants. Computer w/Internet access in lobby complimentary for guests.
Nothing You are literally slipping on Highway 1 It is noisy ! It is hold and smelly ! Earplug are an absolute need to get two hours of sleep ! The very worst Motel I have ever slept in - and all of these conveniences for $96.50 !!!!!!
nothing. This place was so gross. I've had good success in the past, even with 2 star places, but this place was not two star - it was less than 1 star. The front office guy was creepy. The whole place looked like it was under construction. I booked a room with 2 queen beds. When I got there, I was given a room with two double beds. When I asked, I was told that I was mistaken, and the guy insisted that the beds in my room were queen sized. (They were not!). The place was completely run down and depressing. The blinds in the room didn't close all the way. There were no curtains of any kind to draw across the window. When I tried to reverse the blinds, there were dead insects attached to the back of the blinds. There was trash left over from the previous occupant. The list goes on. I was extremely disappointed with the experience, and angry with the booking service that rated this hotel incorrectly.
Great staff, clean, very large rooms. Not enough boats.
Clean, Friendly staff. There are cats in the lobby, beware in case you are allergic. It's dated, but very clean.
Room size, Clean Could not close window curtain if you wanted to use air conditioner. Extremely outdated. TV too small, No list of TV channels, no security lock on door. Bathroom water faucet difficult to use. Too expensive for what you get.
The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It's not Fancy, but if you are just passing through its perfect! It was close enough to go see the heart of Salem without having all the hustle and bustle and noise...and it's right off the main drag through town! Our room didn't have a microwave or fridge, but we didn't need one either. It may be a detrimental factor to others, though.
The front desk staff was very friendly. Honestly, this place was disappointing. I had to open the windows to air out the overwhelming perfume smell in my room. It was so strong, I couldn't stop coughing. Then, I couldn't lock the windows back up when I needed to close them. There was garbage all over the parking lot too. Definitely not worth $100/night.
Fairly comfortable and clean. Includes light breakfast and parking. A few miles from city center. The mouse. It woke me up around midnight of our second night there. It was running around and chewing on something. My boyfriend didn't hear it initially because he's a heavier sleeper than me. I thought I was hearing things. After we turned off the lights, I heard it again. This time, he did too. I couldn't sleep after that. I had the lights on for about an hour or so. My boyfriend was tired from a long day so he passed out. I eventually dozed off but not for long as it woke me again around 6am. We finally found what it got into. We had a loaf of bread inside a tied up plastic bag in the room. It chewed through the bag and ate a big piece of the bread. I told the manager, Supta, about it, but she said they do not have a mouse problem. However, I found a mouse trap under behind the desk with a piece of cheese on it. I guess it was a really smart mouse. She explained the trap is for preventative reasons. She also asked if I turned off or blocked the mouse light (it's a night light to scare off the mice??) Nope, it was on the whole night. I suggested that they a post a sign warning guests not to have any food in the room, like they do in hostels, since it sounded like she thought it was our fault for having food in the room. I was a bit upset they have an issue with mice, especially for the price we paid ($92 a night!) I would have rated this stay as a one star for this reason but our first night stay was not a problem. I suppose if you're a heavy sleeper or don't mind the company of mice, it won't be an issue.
