Spectacular location, bistro was wonderful and the breakfast was much improved since our last stay. Very warm evening when we stayed at this hotel and even with windows open during the night, the air circulation was insufficient for comfort. The lack of air conditioning is an issue at this hotel.
Courtesy of Staff ensuite room 12 a bit small
the warm welcome that we received and the comfortable surroundings.
wonderful breakfasts and great atmosphere is bar area it was too hot in the rooms
An excellent hotel with efficient, friendly staff and a great location overlooking the river. Our room was very comfortable, it's only 5 minutes walk to town and the breakfast was superb. Recommended! No problems at all.
good facilities, close to town the waitresses in the restaurant for dinner relly didn't seem interested.
Exceptional staff courtesy on arrival, beautiful location, comprehensively fitted apartment with modern amenities, use of spa facitilities. The family thoroughly enjoyed their time at Dart Marina it's been our 2nd trip and no doubt we will be returning, already thinking about the summer!! There is nothing negative to comment on about this hotel
Comfort and luxury Very poor wi-fi - I had to carry my laptop around the hotel to find internet access
Lovely room with view of the River Dart. Very friendly staff, would stay at this hotel again. Small point, but was disappointed with the breakfast for a hotel of this quality. Would have expected fresh fruit, not tinned grapefruit and peaches.
the staff were extremely pleasant spa facilites basic and poor (pool very small mixed changing room with only one shower) shower over bath soap and shampoo in dispensers too high on the wall for use in the bath
Friendly & helpful staff Room 1/Room 2 dividing wall too thin. Voices/snoring heard in Room 1 during our stay.
An excellent location and upgraded to a room with a lovely view over the river estuary. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Efficent parking system. We will be returning in the near future.
The scenery located on the river was excellent and the staff were really friendly which made our weekend
Very pleasant staff Very clean rooms
Very welcoming, friendly staff. Good food (and drink) in both restaurant and bar. Bathroom a little cramped.
Reception was very friendly & helpful Food was excellent Staff in restaurant were very efficient, friendly & helpful No lift! I have a mobility problem and found climbing up and down stairs very cumbersome and tiring
Not having to get meals
Lovely family run business set in a wonderful higgldy building. Staff very helpful, great location, would definately stay there again if visiting Dartmouth again.
Service great Only criticism is that the quality of finish in the bathroom was not perfect. Poor grouting and traces of pin mould
The manageress was especially helpful. In the morning I was in a hurry so she provided an excellent cooked breakfast half an hour before the scheduled breakfast time.
The brekfast was excellent room dark decor shabby and only one chair in a double room
Room decor. Central location Lack of parking . Steep steps to access accomodation.WiFi advertised as available in the guest bedrooms but was not, neither could guest use their mobile phones in the bedroom and there was no fixed telephone line in the room =no telephone connection possible from accomodation !!
Comfortable clean room, beds very comfy, staff very helpful and friendly. There was no view from the window as it overlooked interior walls, this also meant there was no fresh air and the room was too warm.
Character of building Location (also refer comment on parking in bad points) Lack of parking - not clearly flagged prior to making booking Room hadn't been properly cleaned Toilet didn't flush properly Staff generally unenthusiastic
Splendid mediaeval architecture, externally and the bedroom. Although there was a brief mix-up over rooms on arrival, the staff were very helpful.
The old buiding was fabulous and we stayed in the drake family suite. The childrens bunkbeds downstairs with our room open planned in the rafters - wonderful.
Location was very convenient. Staff were friendly and accommodating and helpful. They offered us a better room that was available for two nights out of 4 of our stay. Parking is a nightmare. No minibar in the room and no room service. Room number 4 was the most uncomfortable, the floor and bed sloped (ie, floor was not level). Double beds are very small, I advise you book either a superior room or twin room. There was a dog in one of the rooms barking all the time.
The room was clean and nicely furnished with lovely view of the estuaty, the staff were really friendly and the breakfast was fab! We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay and it was really good value for money. We're already planning to visit again in February. When we visit again we'd like to stay in a room with a bath, on the top floor if possible.
superb view, near to amenities and friendliness none
Evening food very good Did not enjoy the cooked breakfast - eggs not cooked properly
Friendly staff, good location None
Location, friendly staff & value. Timed light in corridor outside room permanently on.
Location on banks of River Dart. Excellent breakfast, with swift service. Clean modern bathroom. Bar lacked atmosphere.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. The meals available in the evening were excellent they lack the important ingredient, for me, of a pudding, but I think and hope that this is in the process of being rectified. The bass of the music played in the bar resonated throught the bedroom, although they did try very hard to keep it down.
Dartmouth is a spectacular gem of a town, off the beaten path and full of genuine charm, especially for anyone who loves the water. This Inn is well-located, the price was right, and the owners have done an excellent job bringing a very old building up to speed. Our room was above the bar and therefore sometimes noisy. The room was quite small but the bathroom was first class.
Staff were exceptionally friendly & helpfull None
Friendliness & helpfulness of staff; excellent location for riverside & town centre; good food & drink; pleasant atmosphere in bar. Bathroom door didn't close properly; no detachable shower-head; shower leaked onto bathroom floor; insufficient hanging space for clothes
The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. The hotel was in a good location for us with lovely views over the golf course. The hotel seemed a bit tired and the bathroom needed a bit of updating to bring up to scratch.
We were upgraded to a lodge in the grounds of the hotel which was a great treat. The staff were excellent, always smiling and helpful. The lodge needed vacuuming when we arrived and we had to ask on day 3 for a cleaner to come and clean.
Nice countryside location, not too far out of Dartmouth. Staff extremely helpful, rooms very comfortable. Pool area and some parts of hotel in need of an update.
Staff good, breakfast good, general very good if you are a golfer Needs some tender love and care on outside a good clean and coat of paint would make very good
lovely location, curteous and helpful staff good food
Great setting, excellent beds and high quality of customer service from very attentive and personable staff. The golf course and facilities were an added bonus.
Very friendly and helpful staff.staff Room was a little cramped
Breakfast was well catered with a large selection of cereals, juices and yoghurts to choose from as well as a cooked breakfast menu. Car Park was a short distance from the hotel and was unlit.
The hotel had an historic quirkiness, which was very appealing. The breakfast was excellent and the position of the hotel was certainly one of the best overlooking the harbour. The ability to use both the hotel bar - and the public bar which had live music was an asset.
Very professional friendly staff. Clean rooms. A stunning view - perfect location. Kettle flex was too short making it difficult to access fully the kettle, potentially increasing the risk of accident. Very basic room facilities such as drizzle single shower.
arriving late we were still welcomed and fed as though first in. because we live in the country, it was fairly noisy.
Lovely view of the bay Hotel had a copy of my credit card details including security code number in full view for all staff.
very friendly and helpful staff, pleasant clean rooms, homely atmosphere and excellent breakfast! no
The freindliness of the staff, the position overlooking the harbour and the general overall ambience of the hotel Obviously stairs could prove a problem for elderly people and should be pointed out at time of booking
Great location, lovely view of harbour No
Helpful friendly staff. Great atmosphere, fantastic location! No carpark: but that's understandable, biven the location!
Helpful staff. Excellent food. A classy interesting hotel. We did not see any of the resident ghosts!!!
would have liked a friendlier welcome, also, being shown to the room would have been a nice touch , as we went to the wrong floor initially, carrying suitcases up and down narrow flights of stairs was a pain !
A truly lovely place to stay
I loved it's warm and worn old English feel and historic charm.
The comfort of our room was excellent but our friends said their bed had dips in each side and appeared old like the establishment. Thought the dining room for breakfast a little on the dismal side - could of done with more lighting
Absolutely everything!!! (and no I am not connected to the hotel..)
Location, food Sound insulation in room to adjoining guest room not so good
We loved the wonderful food they have a very talented Chef. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a nice warm welcoming atmosphere. Our room was disappointing, we felt that it needed some TLC and updating, it felt like a basic over flow room - simple things could have been done: - it would have been helpful to have placed a mirror on the wall or on the chest of drawers near a socket for when drying ones hair. An extra bedside table lamp would also have been helpful lighting was poor it meant that only my husband was able to see to read in bed
Our 3rd visit; a cosy.welcoming and friendly place. Comfortable rooms, good food & a good "pubby" feel to the bar
warm and friendly
Staff were welcoming and the rooms very clean. Although near steam railway it was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent.
the friendly welcome and the spacious rom
friendliness of staff
The staff were lovely, friendly and extremely accommodating.
It was a warm friendly hotel and ideally located for our short stay in the Torbay area. The local bus passes the door.
Quiet location, and comfortable, clean room.
A well maintaned, nicely decorated, clean hotel with a homely atmosphere. The family run business is very welcoming and friendly. Meals are generous and nicely prepared. The hotel is set in an ideal location for touring Brixham, the surrounding area and South Devon. There was nothing to dislike.
Cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of staff.
Lovely welcoming hotel. Clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. Ideal location. Lovely breakfast
