breakfast Shower & Toilet facilities poor
Good size lounge where our friends and relatives could wait whilst we were getting ready. Staff very friendly. Good sized rooms. Only one room had en-suite. The Bathroom facilities were not very good for those without the en-suite.
Close to town centre and on the sea front No decaffeinated drinks available. No alternative to orange juice at breakfast Evening restaurant not open No parking facility or consessional parking ticket and little help in identifying free places to park. Staff could have been more welcoming.
breakfast excellent no toilet paper in communal toilet on my floor. only one roll in toilet downstairs which was about to run out! dirty sink in room
friendly staff,good food
Nice big comfortable bed, upgraded to a better room with sea view. Sash windows faulty.
Everything in the room and bathroom was immaculate. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Absolutely nothing.
I thought all the staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent. We had a superior room which was clean and comfortable.
People very helpful and friendly. Bad water stain on wall and ceiling (overflow from upstairs bath?). Staff said they had no authority to arrange new painting. The room was 'Collingwood'. Otherwise, four-poster; sea view; all good.
The balcony room overlooking the sea and the fact that breakfast was serverd on the blcony at no extra charge. The staff were very friendly and the bath in the room was extremely comfortable. It was great going to sleep listening to the waves. The bathroom was a bit cramped and it was hard to sit on the loo as a result
Very comfortable and friendly
we had our wedding there and everything from the staff to accommodation was fantastic very professional and relaxing experience if anything the food for a couple of guests was not to their liking but cant please everyone breakfast was superb
Comfort, seaside themes, books available. Homeliness Undergoing some necessary maintenance and redecoration.
We stayed in the cornwallis family room it was large and had a very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, being on the beach was lovely for an early morning walk. the staff were very pleasant. the manageress asked if we enjoyed our stay which was a nice touch. The view from our room was into the facing building and street and was not very nice. our friends stayed in the captain parker room which was directly above us and it was very poor compared to our room, which was the same price. Their bathroom was awful and only had a shower which had no hot water and they had to get maintenance to sort it out. the water went everywhere in the bathroom. their room was claustrophobic. However the manageress did discount it for them.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bar / restaurant was pleasent and served very good food. Room was what is expected for a familly room - actually better. Like other people have mentioned, although understandable when you arrive, the fact that you used a council car park (right next door, so no real problem), but we arrived on a Saturday so it was extremely busy. Some parts of the hotel could be spruced up a little - lick of paint etc.
Excellent facilities and efficient staff ensured a relaxing stay in an interesting and charming small town.
Very friendly and helpful staff, enjoyable conversations. Cooked breakfasts are really tasty. Dinner menu is excellent and cooked and served on a very good quality level. Changing of rooms went very well. Second room with view on the Strand we enjoyed very well. Little storage space in bathrooms. No High Tea buffet available, probably due to low visitor rate. However, it was advertised for through a brochure in the room. Our first room up in the attick lacked any view since the window was provided with foil and therefore we felt kind of claustrofobic for the first 3 nights (booked with a group booking). The consecutive room we had for the last 2 nights was very nice. During our 5 nights stay we felt that the restaurant menu could have been more varied. Although the food quality was excellent, we needed 'a break' and went out for dinner 2 times.
The room was excellent, large and spacious, elegant in a modern style, very commfortable. Excellent breakfast. Large bed but split mattress, too soft, not a great nights sleep. Restaurant excuded quality but food a bit disappointing. Casual bar looked good and would have enjoyed breakfast more in that room.
The staff made us feel special and a credit to the Bell Hotel. Our room was light, roomy, quite and well equipped. Love the entrance and the revolving doors also the information set out on forth comming events was very good. Our stay went too quickly.
A very comfortable hotel in a quaint Kentish town overlloking the river. The waiters struggled to work out the table numbering system. So food and drinks came to wrong tables.
Huge room and Bathroom lovely big bed. Food was excellent Pre authorisation for payment was for full amount but then full amount was requested a second time when checking out and as authorised amount was still reserved on the account need twice the amount availible in the account
The food was excellent, hot and very tasty. The view from the bedroom window which was a wall and a rooftop which was a similar view to that I had on my previous visit but I guess someone has to have it.
An excelleny hotel in a central location of a medieval town. The food was high quality and contained an interesting mix of flavours
Overall value for money in respect of cost of evening meal
The accomodation and service very pleasing staff. The level of menu and food not up to standard of the hotel generally. For instance the pheasant dish and the fish dfish were too dry and I think a choice of (local) vegetables should be included with the dish.
Large spacious very clean rooms, excellent value for money with lots of extras included, loved the homemade scones and cream tea!! ideal place to stay with children of any age very understanding hosts who make you feel nothing is too much trouble.Interesting period house with loads of original features but with modern touches.
Attention to detail was of a high standard. The setting made for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. No
The welcome was very warm. The owner made us feel 'like home'. Very helpfull and very friendly
Everything was wonderful. I couldnt ppick any one thing
Very Family friendly ideal for children of all ages, excellent value for money lots of extras included in the price , homemade scones and cake and wirless internet, very welcoming hosts, rooms large and very clean, houses full of character and nice extra touches.Hosts very welcoming and made to feel nothing is too much trouble.
very kind staff surprise, reservation for a 4 persons family room, have to pay 2 additional beds.
Excellant food plenty of it None
Nice bar area, good food. Nice gardens Rooms are converted stables, not what i expect for £110 Was told breakfast was 7am to 0930. Hotel was closed at 8am. unable to get breakfast which we paid for and had to wait 20minutes for a staff member to arrive before we could hand our keys in.
Quiet location with friendly staff Confusion over costs of taxis and best method of travel Cost for meals (esp breakfast and drinks)
The food was excellent No bar area
Ideal position. Friendly & helpful staff. Excellent food, reasonably priced. Good parking. Could do better at cleaning room. Not well pleased with room, near noisy boiler. Extractor fan not working in bathroom. Antiquated plumbing. Poor selection of breakfast cereals. Took full three day charge from my account on day of booking, then charged for two days when leaving !!
The size of the bedroom, the comfort of the bed and the toiletries in the bathroom. We did not like the fact that breakfast was only served until 9.30 a.m. (and this was on a Sunday)
The breakfast was spectacular! There is a top-notch restaurant called the Samphire on site, which is where breakfast is served - and it is a cut above what you'll get anywhere else! And included in the room price!! Really excellent value for money.
nice rooms .wonerful layout of the hotel.very calm and relaxing surroundinds.helpful and friendly staff.
I find it very difficult to say anything pleasant about my say that this Hotel The Restaurant was freezing cold. The walk from the room to the main building was out in the open. The room didn't have a welcome pack.Tissues were not provided.
Location - everything else was way below what was expected of this independent establishment Full English Breakfast was only half portions!
you felt welcomed and relaxed with the staff and owners
The New Inn was very relaxed and very welcoming, an Ideal place to stay especially if you like golf
Very friendly staff, basic but clean rooms, lovely breakfast, nice bar with a good choice of music on the dukebox! Lovely town
Excellent standard of room adequate parking nice area
Food was good wholsome and reasonably priced
Private Parking, Central Sandwich location The live music in the Inn on the Thursday evening made the whole roon vibrate. The food at the inn was not that good
Good sized bedroom and bath-room. Good quality furnishings through-out. Did not have to vacate the room until 11a.M. Alarm clock plug broken. No biscuits with the tea/coffee.
nothing in particular Room was great if you can sleep in a noisy pub
Room was of a good size and well equiped especially with storage space. Car parking was very handy. Manageress was very helpful. Selection of cereals at breakfast limited.
