I booked and paid for room on kayak When i checked in they wanted $100. Security deposit. I went to give them cash. They didn’t want cash had to put it on a card which I hate doing that because sometimes they take forever putting it back on the card. And i was right it know has been 2weeks and i have not got my $100. Back.
It was dirty, in a bad part of town, it smelled, it took them 3 times to find a room that didn’t have have squatters in it, or have serviced with dirty and wet towels in it. My advice is don’t even bother.
I open the door, saw the cigarette burns on the bed cover, torn and stained. I shut the door and never came back
Pros. Although it looked like it should have bugs, it was bug free.
Cons. Bathroom smelled like smoke, even though there were posted signs to not smoke. Walls were thin, and we could hear talking and loud TVs until 2am. The first night we heard someone yelling. People live in this place. The night time lady was abrupt and not friendly. We only had 2 scratchy towels for a room with 2 queen beds. When I called to ask for another towel, she wanted me to bring down the dirty towels before she gave me another. I told her we were 3 people and needed more towels. She huffed and said come down and get them. No maid service. She handed them without any kind of acknowledgement. Elevators and stairwell smelled like garbage. Stained bed linens.
Pros. Easy access. Place felt pretty safe. Very friendly, courteous and helpful receptionist. That was a huge plus. She made the stay from July 11-12 worth it.
Cons. the room could have been cleaner - especially the carpet which was stained. Glad I brought my slippers. Also, lots of garbage piled in upper stairwell and next to elevators.
