Bed was very dirty/they did not wash the sheet/they also did not clean carpet. room was very very dirty ever i had seen.
Excellent location on River Walk; still some rough patches in the neighborhood, but very promising locale. Older brick building has character, high ceilings, deep window sills. Staff I interacted with was friendly and accommodating and did their best to guide guests through the travails of sub-par facility
Problems with the older building have not been corrected in the remodel. Water and heating/cooling system are poor. Maintenance of facility is sub-standard (faucets were loose and dripping, for example). Cleanliness could be improved - baseboards were dusty/dirty, bedding was stained, sticky surface on table, etc. Given its location and possibilities to be a much higher-end boutique hotel, remodel should have been of higher quality, from systems upgrades to carpeting, furnishings, amenities, etc.

You guys set me up with an agency who doubled booked me. I would recommend following up with the various agencies first to see if your customers actually stayed at the hotel, instead of shooting out these emails that don't make you look good.
The location was nice and the view
Well the first night was ok they didn't have a mini refrigerator in the room I would think $160+ regular price that it would be included, and they wanted to charge us 20$ a night to rent the mini refrigerator.. The first room we were in had these shear white curtains, looked nice bad idea. Especially if you're a late sleeper. None of the rooms had hand soap in the bathroom, either one of are rooms didn't have heat or air conditioning. Our tv didn't really work in the 2nd room, and we didn't "do not disturb signs. My biggest issue with the hotel was I didn't feel secure enough to leave my Car in their lot. Two cars got stripped in the parking lot left on bricks all four tires gone, I asked where security was he said he was inside. Inside for two cars to be stripped of their tires. I felt unsafe and I definitely won't be staying at this hotel again
We had booked this hotel via kayak. When we arrived to the hotel after being tired from traveling we approached the two ladies at the desks. The one lady asked us if we were checking in and we said yes. She then asked if we had a reservation and we said that yes we did. She asked for the last name which we gave her (and spelled for her) and she very rudely looked at us and said "What???" So I spelled it for her very slowly again. She then rudely said "Just give me yo ID". So we did. She then said "When did ya"ll make this reservation??" I said "Earlier today, I can give you the confirmation number..." She then interrupted me and said "No we don't have no rooms, we full". I said "Well can you look at the confirmation number maybe..." Interrupted again "Nothing I can do, contact whoever you got the reservation from." So we left. So rude. Not willing to help us find another place or work with us. Nothing. Contacted kayak and they were amazing. Refunded us the cost and helped us find a hotel.
The waterfront view and the easy access to the river walk from the hotel was a big plus. The rooms are spacious and clean bu not everything was functioning. My room's hairdryer didn't work and the tv channels offered left much to be desired (not a terrible tragedy). It had parking. The staff was courteous. It's not a five star hotel but it's charm can grow on you. Given the opportunity, I would stay here again.
The hotel is not handicap friendly and is in need of renovations. The parking areas need to be repaved and should be better lit. The city should fix the potholes on the streets leading to the hotel. The restaurant menu was okay. There's definitely room for improvement all around.
Keep in mind this is not a 5 star hotel, and this is not Greektown, this is an old building right on the river. There are some flaws, but the location is great, felt really safe, and the staff was friendly. The bed was really clean and comfortable. I'm surprised to see bad reviews about this hotel - I couldn't find anything to complain about! Was really surprised, would definitely stay there again. I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews!!!

Staff is very nice, great old character in the building. Loved the river walk. Didn't try the food, so have no comment. Bed was comfortable. I would stay there again yes but hope the ventilation is better.
Our only complaints were #1 the construction outside our room started at 8 a.m. on a Saturday. I feel like we were put there because I booked through a third party which was pointed out to me when I asked if I could upgrade. #2 the room smelled like smoke in the bathroom at times and even dog poop I think the ventilation carries odors.
I'm mystified by the mixed reviews that I've seen for this hotel. For the money, it's the best value nice(r) hotel in the downtown Detroit area. Every member of the staff we interacted with was exceptionally pleasant, the check-in process was super pleasant, there is free easy parking steps from the front doors, the place was clean, we were given a view of the Detroit River and Windsor, Canada, even before I asked if one was possible. No, it's not a 5 star ultra luxury hotel (but I don't think there really are any in central Detroit, and I've stayed at the GM Renaissance Center hotel (don't know if I'm allowed to mention the brand, but it's one of the nicest hotels in the city proper, at room rates of 3-4 times the Roberts Riverwalk.) Sure, there are a few things that are a little dated, but everything was in great shape in our room, and all of the public facilities worked great. There is a lovely sitting area on the main floor near reception for reading, or watching the ever-present TV. There is a free pool table, well maintained and level, on the ground level near the bar (which we didn't try.) It's steps from the Detroit Riverwalk, there are a few good bars and food options within easy walking distance, and downtown Detroit is super convenient. I will absolutely continue staying at this hotel in the future!
Very little to complain about! The TV didn't work properly, but we just watched online streaming on a laptop (the wifi worked great.) I hate single-cup coffee-pod style coffee makers in hotels, but this is mostly a personal peeve, and there is coffee service on the main floor near reception every morning.
The room was cool-never got above 64 while we were there.

Proximity to downtown Detroit was excellent. Right on the waterfront. An old, historic, renovated building.
It's a bit rough around the edges - the last renovation must have been some time ago. The bar-restaurant was poor - don't even bother mentioning that it has one. The shower didn't work - but the rest of the room was very nice.
Reception staff rude, and no sense of customer service or enthusiasm. I was given a room that wasn't cleaned, was moved to a room, where there was renovation work in the hall, even after requesting a quiet room, shower was terrible alterning from ice cold to boiling water flow, bed mattress was worned out, door handle from closet was hanging by on bolt, tv support broken, furniture in bad shape. Lets say the hotel needs lots of T L C and culture change among custmer facing employees. Best of luck.
Beautiful view of the Detroit River and Canada. Hotel has its own gated entrance to the Riverwalk. Outstanding for walkers or joggers. My room had very high ceilings. Great value and free parking. Safe location. Delicious chocolate chip cookies at the reception desk. I will certainly stay here again. This is not a high-priced luxury hotel, but it costs only 1/3 of the price and is a bargain.
No hair dryer. No remote control for TV (though one was provided when we requested it). No tea bags in room. Poor Sprint cell phone reception in that part of Detroit (which is not their fault).
Great hotel, very clean! Would highly recommend and go back there. Only 2 miles away from Joe Louis Arena. Hotel will call a cab for you. Bar in the hotel is nice and good prices.
