Within walking distance of Greektown! I rooms we cheaper on there sign then on this site. The double rooms have better beds.
The idea that the Clique restaurant is attached is a bonus
the staff (one young gentleman in particular) was very welcoming & helpful. He helped with directions, maps, things to do & made arrangements to check us in hours before the normal check in time. The location of this hotel is great. We love to walk everywhere, and we found everything to be within reasonable walking distance (in town for a football game) but there is a cheap 50 cent train ride to take you everywhere too my only complaint about this hotel was the noise at night. I'm assuming it was louder than usual because of the full house in town for the steeler-lions game but we were awoken several times at night with what sounded like shady business a few times. but just for the record, the loudest, longest and most annoying disturbance was an obscene, intoxicated canadian who was locked out of his room at 4am for an hour or so.... the staff made sure to apologize for this when we checked out in the morning.
friendly and helpful staff - good value for money
Terrible hotel! Dirty and old
It was inexpensive and clean with friendly staff in a convenient downtown location that was easy to access downtown Detroit. This was a location that is not overly friendly late at night and a family with young children would need to be concerned if outside in the evenings.
location near renaisance center, breakfast at attached diner
The clerk on duty was exceptionally helpful
Staff were nice and pleasant. Everything else pretty abysmal. An older facility that didn't feel safe, clean or comfortable. Dirty shower and towels. Didn't even look at state of sheets for fear of what we would find. Came out covered in flea bites. Very noisy. Wouldn't stay again or recommend. Stayed here only as rest of city fully booked - paid way too much as a result on top of it all. Would travel out of town to find a room next time.
Within reasonable walking distance of Ford Field and people mover
convenient to family members we were up there to see. 2 restraunts very close. elevator for upper floors because I'm handicapped noisy and dirty, dirty, dirty!!!!!!!!!!! stains on linen, beds half made, sticky floors. sorry. but some guests appeared to like their drugs. we could smell it drifting into the elevator and our room. I wouldn't take my 6 yr old grandson there.
It was close to a Bob Evans and other food options The hallway you can hear really well. Expected for this type of hotel
Good location All Good
nothing do not go! save your time and go somewhere else
It was convenient. The staff was nice. The room: ripped comforter, peeling wallpaper, dirty bathroom floor, shower plugged up, and ashes everywhere. The motel: boarded doors and windows, drab lobby, long-term residents, and very basic amenities. I would only stay here again if it was the only place to stay in Romulus.
Nothing The room was horribly nasty, there was what looked like vomit on the comforter and when we called front desk they said we just have to deal with it... I almost felt safer sleeping in the car.....
convenient location; fair accomodations for price Requested multiple times to have maintenace check on room toilet through would not flush properly. No one ever came.
Stained carpet, stained chair upholstery, broken bed, bathroom NOT CLEAN, bedside lamps not working.
The price The room seemed dirty and smelled like smoke when I first got there. Also on the 2nd night after my day I arrived to the room and my card for the door did not work. I went to lobby to fix cars and nobody was there for about 15-20 minutes.
Nothing Room was disgusting. Clearly not cleaned. Wet dirty washcloth on floor of tub, urine on toilet seat, toilet usually would not flush, makeup powder on/in sink, bag tied over smoke detector, A/C did not work, skunky smell in room, rude & unhelpful manager.
There were cob webs behind the door that look like a small animals was stuck to the wall, the TV didn't work, there were two flat pillows on a king size bed, it was a horrible experience!!
Called the hotel and told them my flight was coming in late. No one ever logged it so the King room i requested got turned into 2 queens and he was acting like he was doing a favor by not charging me extra. That's crazy. Won't stay there again.
Cheap price Out dated tv in first room I stayed. Second room didn't have a phone.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Price was high for what you got. Free breakfast was just toast. Floor was dirty behind bed.
Room too dark, ice bucket dirty, shower curtain falling off. Everything else was OK.
Was for the right price The room needed some up keep ceiling was falling in and need to be redone bathroom.
It was quiet on the side I was staying in... I think they allow to many young and wild kids to stay their.. That place has always been known as the party place, even when it was Cross Country Inn.. And I see that the same lady is in charge now as was back then.. Sonja I believe is her name. So I also see not much has changed with the place except the name...
The furniture and renovations inside the rooms showed a modern, tasteful set up in an older motel, in an excellent location near 75 and walking distance to downtown restaurants and local businesses. Still some improvement needed on basics - like cleaning the room daily! I stayed 5 days and they only made up the room once. I had to raid the supply cart for extra toilet paper. There were no basics like tissues or a trash can for the bathroom (useful for non-flushables!) the coffee maker was not located near an outlet so I had to plug it in on the floor across the room to use it. No channel guide for TV. Really basic stuff. Heat controls didn't work - room got too hot or too cold.
Staff was very much attentive to what ever issue Mattress needed to be replaced sag to much Comforter was spotted all over too noticeable
The room was large and reasonably comfortable- and I got it at a good price. The bed was very comfortable - and there was a good selection of TV channels. The Wi-FI worked well too. My single biggest complaint is that ALL of the electrical outlets (only 3 in total, not counting the one in the bathroom - not nearly enough for a room this big) were severely overloaded. One outlet was overloaded to the point where the 4-plug extender (completely full) was so heavy that it kept falling out of the wall. I ended up having to disconnect it (and everything hooked to it) in order to keep the TV and one lamp running. When I needed to use the coffee pot in the morning I had to switch the cord for the coffee pot with the one running the TV - both plugged into the same outlet. This is probably a big safety (and fire) hazard. I was in a ground floor room and the water was only slightly above lukewarm in temperature (both in the sink & shower) - not very comfortable at all. Those folks on the second floor probably had to shower in cold water!! Also, the halls were not heated- and it was extremely cold (-10 F) the weekend I stayed there. The heater inside the room I had did work well, however. The place was quiet too. I did not have the continental breakfast (just coffee) but it looked pretty meager. This facility is not worth more than $40/night maximum - so if you can get it for that rate (or less) it's probably a good deal.
Nice staff, especially Ms. V who worked the evening shift from Nov. 11th thru morning of the 12th. She made my stay so much nicer with her answers to my questions about the area and places to see. What a gem for Super 8 Troy!! Old hotel, needs some renovations with the carpet, tub cleaning or replacement, & heating system. Also some type of sound proofing is needed or padding on doors because doors can be heard slamming in the middle of the night or early morning as people enter or depart.
