The location to Budget car rental and the airport.

The internet charge was ridiculous, and the internet service unacceptable, possibly due to spyware used by the service. When you charge for internet access, it should not include breaches in privacy. This alone will cause me to never stay at this hotel or any other hotel in the chain again.

I enjoyed the fact that I only stayed one night...

Internet not working, TV not working, the phone wake up call rang one hour before the time set-up, but mainly I didn't enjoyed the fact that you could hear all sounds from the rooms next to mine.

The transportation from and to the airport was great.

The breakfast wasn't up to my liking. I did not get tea to drink and there were no vegetables such as cucumber and tomatoes served.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, cared and really took interest. Great for resting between layover, quiet neighborhood.

Limited shuttle service, had to take a local bus from the airport, fortunately covered with several lines.

The staff were friendly & eager to provide advice regarding places to visit, things to do, etc. Room was very nice & very clean. Breakfast was wonderful & had something for everyone...a lot of variety. We really enjoyed our stay.

Loved that it's close to airport, but it was a little difficult to get to even using gps.

Barkeepers stimulate you not to have diner in the bar, but in the restaurant instead. But I prefer the bar because the restaurant is too quiet

distance from airport. Was a 23.4 E taxi fare one way, but was cheapest hotel within 10 miles. We were just spending the night before catching flight out in the morning so didn't want to pay the 250E the Sheraton at the Brussels airport wanted for one night.

Was not informed that our room would not have an air conditioning unit. It was 90 degrees in Brussels during our stay and they only provided us with two fans. It was extremely hot and very uncomfortable, when I filed a complaint they couldn't move our room until the very last night and only refunded me $25.

Felt it was a 3 star hotel

Airport shuttle was confusing and ended up costing me $23 dollars

The window was broken, so we couldnt open it. The restaurant menu is very limited.

The bedroom we had in this hotel suffers very badly from unrelenting traffic noise. Location of the hotel very good for business in Brussels. It is definitely not the hotel to stay in for leisure.

Week-end pricing

A beautiful modern, yet cosy hotel. Staff very welcoming, helpful, and informative. Supurb designer decor throughout. The twin room we had was very generous compared to other hotels in Brussels I've stayed in. Lovely warm, restful Lounge/bar with designer gas fire. Bus stop right outside the hotel making access to the city centre very easy.

The bathroom lighting was insufficent, and the bedroom lighting too complicated to opperate, I had to ring reception for instructions! Only one pillow which was very fat; two thinner pillows would aford the guest to use both or only one as they choose. I suffered a fitful night because of this discomfort.

The room was very spacious and the hotel is bright, modern, and clean. Good price but mainly made up of business travelers (we were on our honeymoon). Didn't try the restaurant/bar (Smoods) on the first floor because the priced seemed absurdly high. Would be great for a longer term business stay because of the separate desk area in the room.

Not much negative to say. The location is a bit of a hike from the tourist hotspots like the Grand Place. It's close to the Botanique metro station which was convenient but it would have been nicer to have a quicker walk to the city center instead. If you do walk to the city center from the hotel, make sure to walk through the gardens and then down Rue Neuve - it's much nicer than walking between all of the business buildings.

The room is big for the price we paid. The bar downstairs was nice and the bartenders were friendly and even made us specialty drinks that weren't on the menu

We got to the room late in the evening, the receptionist gave us our room key. When we got to our room, our key didn't work. This happens sometimes so we weren't too upset. I came back downstairs and told another guy at the desk that we had just arrived and that our key didn't work. He fixed it and apologized, we headed to our room. When we opened the door, a woman shot up out of bed and asked "who's there". I felt terrible. Tried to apologize quickly as I spun out the door. I went back down to the desk and the people working had figured out what happened because the lady I walked in on called the front before we got down. They gave a voucher for 1 free glass of wine or beer and gave us the new key and apologized once more. When I turned to walk away, I realized that the same room that we just interrupted that woman in was still written on the key holder card. I turned and told him "this the same room we just came from". He said "oh, oh, I'm sorry." And gave me the right number. But he almost sent us back to the wrong room a third time. All kinds of other things went wrong while we were there. Loud construction RIGHT outside our window at 6am every morning. We were told we would get a five dollar voucher for the bar for every morning we didn't get our room cleaned and we never got it. 4 days in a row, we didn't want our room cleaned. We didn't care about the voucher, but when we went to the desk to ask for an extra bottle of water for our room (which comes with a free bottle of still water and sparkling every morning if you get it cleaned) the desk attendant said we couldn't have free water if our room hadn't been serviced. But when I mentioned that we never received our vouchers, there was some reason we couldn't get that either. I was so frustrated from no sleep from the construction and all the other issues (many of them too small of importance but also too many to list) that I stopped listening to their reasoning. I had decided that I'll never stay at this hotel again. Which is unfortunate because I had stayed there one night last time I was in Belgium. I didn't have much interaction with the staff as it was another late night. I just needed a bed for the evening. My only complaint was the location was kind of inconvenient but after this experience, i realized the problems are far worse than the location

Nice and friendly staff. Well connected to the city centre. Good taste regarding decoration and common areas. Free wireless. Cosy and good value for money.

If you stay in a bedroom by the great boulevard you'll hear the traffic all night long. The rooms are small, but confortable.

Chic decor, large bed, comfortable room, free wifi, reasonable price.

Small TV, not many anglophone channels, heating either hot or cold.

We liked the reception and lobby area of the hotel which are very attractive and of high quality. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very pleasant with good food and helpful, courteous staff. The buffet breakfast is very good.

The standard of our room was very disappointing. It was small and rather shabby - the beds did not even have headboards. The bathroom had been nicely renovated, but there was a very large crack in the washbasin which had not been replaced. I consider that overall our room was not up to the standard expected of a 4 star hotel. The corridor leading to the room was also shabby looking (chipped door frames etc.).

I stayed numerous times in this hotel and I always had an excellent stay. This time round I was assigned a room on the 3rd floor which was not really up to the usual standard. It could be a few rooms out of many better ones, but this one could do with a refurbishment.

. Good hotel. Very expensive for the quality during weekdays. More reasonable during weekends. . Friendly helpful staff specially the manager and bellboy Internet reception was weak/non-existent in my first room. Switched to a room in another floor. Better but still not great.

. Not near the any of the tourist things (city center, Grand Place, Centeral Train Station . Had to take the metro to go anywhere or do anything. . Weak internet signal. . Breakfast not worth the price.

Hotel rooms have very bad insulation. Sounds from other rooms, from the elevator, from the street invade your room!

Comfortable room with extensive minibar and Nespresso.

Breakfast buffet was modest and service (in particular to get a cup of coffee) was slow.

The Progress Hotel is well located to Gare du Nord, Metro and shopping. It's quiet, and ideal for short work stays.

Internet is available only in the lobby, a huge hall, which is poorly illuminated and too noisy due to a constantly banging heavy door and the remote opening buzzer. It won't take much effort or cost to rectify this major irritation. Also, providing wireless internet signal inside rooms will be very useful.

The Hotel is very central, Metro just around the corner, or an eight minute walk to the centre. The staff were very helpful the breakfast was basic but ok. I would stay there again

Perfect location and value for money

A very pleasant, clean and comfortable hotel. Situated in a quiet area, about 15 minute walk to Grand Place, but with a good range of restaurants close by.

I liked to fact that it was close to the train station, walking distance from the center.

Even though it was located in the center this neighborhood in particular is very bad, always with strange people hanging around the hotel. The hotel was noisy and smelled quite unpleasentely. The shower courtain for example was extremely dirty. It should not be presented as a 2 star hotel and maybe not even a one star hotel, I felt like I was deceived by the pictures and by the main description of the booking.com website.
