We enjoyed the tranquility of the hotel and the stylish presentation. Also the orama of lillies was distinctive and the very comfortable room was most enjoyable Two of us had duckling which was badly cooked rendering it tough. Our TV would not work and we asked for help. However when we tried to turn it in again it would not work. The problem was that it was old epquipment that did not work properly. Our radio was not programmed in so we could not get any programmes a except static.
The whole experience of staying in an old manor house with oak panelling everywhere, creaking floorboards, characteristic furniture and decor, and a romantic and relaxing atmosphere in such a beautiful setting. Excellent cuisine and wine list in the restaurant
Very nice location. All public rooms very well presented and staff friendly None
Comfortable room with lovely view of the estuary. Excellent staff and super breakfast.
I was not very impressed with the cleanliness of the room it was fithy I have taken photographs as evidence and will be complaining directly to the hotel. I was advised by your staff that we would receive a luxury room of 32sqmtr this was not the case when I asked on booking about breakfast in bed was advised yes and that on arrival we could only have continental breakfast. The breakfast was awful bacon so crispy that if I put my fork into it it would have shattered all over the restaurant, scrabbled eggs not cooked properly. The prices for the three course evening meal was disgusting £40.00 per head. Bar prices were ridiculous how can you justify a pint of Budweiser and a Jim Beam and Pepsi total price £10.20 riciculous. A great hotel with beautiful gardens, superb interiors, calm location, convenient access to both mountains and the see, excellent meals and hospitality of staff. I am confident to recommend this hotel to anybody who would like to enjoy relaxed holiday.
The building - great atmosphere, the location, the food and attentive staff. Room got cold at night. Reception area not always manned - sometimes had to walk about to find someone.
Very Comfortable. Lots of nice finishing touches. Nothing springs to mind.
Beautiful hotel, stunning location and grounds. Very friendly staff. Only fault I can find is that the toilet in our room made an awful noise when flushed (trapped air in the system I think?!)
staff attentive and friendly and communal rooms comfortable bedroom too small and I would have expected a larger than 4'6" bed, the unusual request by the waitress for the time of your appearance at breakfast. The food was tasty but chefs appear to try too hard combine food tastes.
Excellent food. Very good room. Good service. A most enjoyable stay.
A well run, comfortable Hotel with the personal touch. Excellent well prepared and presented food. None
The hotel and particularly Tim, Sue and their staff, is wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for their guests, food is exceptional, views are fantastic. None, except a long way from us
Excellent food and service
Friendly staff; good management/organisation; very good food especially good presentation; geographically well situated hotel for excellent walks, wildlife and scenery. One morning our breakfast omelette was salty.
Very cosy and good atmosphere, food excellent. Room clean and warm, really good view and great setting a for couple with a dog. Perfectly placed for the walking that we intended to do. Not major bad points but the fixtures and fittings were not co-ordinated and a bit jaded.
The location was fantastic. What a view! The bar/restaurant was warm and inviting, and the food just great. We arrived on a wet and windy day and the warmth and friendliness of the bar/ restaurant was just what we were looking for
Unusual hotel in good location. Willing and pleasant staff. Good menu and food Staff sometimes disorganised, Shower pressure and temperature variable
Lovely venue, amazing menu choices and high standard of cooking. Must get very busy in the summer but wonderful in November for some r&r
Fantastic, superb location, on a solo end of season motorcycle tour, stayed in a lodge room, brilliant views across the estuary, bargain at £45 for b&b. Food was excellent - I'll be back again in the future with my wife. Nothing
We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend the hotel to friends and family. The quality of our dinner and breakfast were excellent and so was the service. Shower curtain rail in room 9 lodge was a bit loose and hanging down.
The hotel is firendly and nicely positioned in a pitoresque natural environment - we had a room in the lodge which is an old station house facing the estuary. The rooms are nicely decorated and equiped with flat screen TV, comfortable bed, tasteful decoration. The food in the restaurant (in the main building) was extremely tasty and we had a good choice. Also the breakfast was excellent (including smoked kippers :-)) and the staff was really friendly and helpful - helping out to warm our baby food for instance or giving us directions to travel around. It's a good base to go around the area to visit Portmeirion, Barmouth or Harlech. We've arrived quite late in cold wintery evening and the room prepared for us was freezing cold - the heating wasn't put on before we came which was extremely unfortunate as we travelled with our small baby. The staff did kindly offered us to stay by the fire in the main building until the room gets warmer but as kids where already tired it wasn't a good option. As the first night is anyway charged in case of no show I don't understand why the room wasn't heated properly in advance particularly because it took almost a day to get it to a right temperature. The bathroom was a bit oldish vs. the rest of the room and only featured a shower which took lots of time to give warm water however the overall hotel experience was definitely good.
Ideal location for traveling around snowdonia,Harlic castle , Portmerion , Canarfon, and walking and boat trips
Lighting in bedrooms very poor - impossible to read comfortably
