Good staff, nice setting Poor spa facilities - swimming pools were cold or not functioning. I expected to be able to stay at the hotel and use the spa facilities more.
the location is excellent, the wine cellars are nearby, the rooms are new and comfortable, they also have an outside wellness area with 3 swimming pools, the evening catering staff is very nice (only them:) small but annoying things: instead of a welcome, the receptionist told me to open the gate we have to pay for the parking (they have a new system, we didn't want to leave our car on the side of the road), a lot of cats are fed in front of the kitchen, first morning we didn't get a table at breakfast (we went down about 9), the buffet was almost empty, next morning they still didn't improve: we couldn't find any napkins or cutlery nowhere, at 9:30 they were out of juices, our room was above the kitchen, mornings it had an oily smell, we could hear the employees chat+smell their cigarettes (it was a 4*deluxe room), there was nobody to give us towels in the wellness area, at check out I asked for the guest book-they told me they don't have one
The hotel is designed very nice and the spa is very good
Hotel corridors at 2nd and 3rd floors were dark when no people presents. We suggest that keeping some lamps on for safety.
The swimming pool/spa !! Super The food from the spa/swimmingpool !!!! Terible not nice and expensive. The breakfast was also nothing special
Fantastic location, nice design, polite staff, quality materials surfaces.. First of all it was somehow difficult to fing the reception and parking, no signs alongside the road!! The thermal bath or wellness are is very crowded and noisy not possible to silently relax..The breakfast consist of too simple and typically unhealthy fat Hungarian courses..no brown bread, fake juices etc..Plus the breakfast area was very very crowded noisy. So the second day we just skipped it. It was not really a 4 starts feeling.
Concierge very friendly, spoke nicely Italian, gave us a terrific tip for restaurant :-)
The services and facilities. The room and the bathroom are very small.
It is a modern, clean and very good hotel. We spent fantastic 4 days there. It is close to the city centre and there are great possibilities for excursions. The bed linen was a little bit old and "overused".
Swimming pool, sauna,
Everything is super Missing free internet connection in room.
The view from my room overall quality of everything
The location was great: central to town and wine tasting in the valley.
This hotel was situated just below Eger Castle and the edge of town square so great location for seeing Eger.A quaint old hotel with heaps of character. Staff very obliging and helpful. Hotel has a carpark about 50meters from the hotel so very convenient. No complaints
It is so centrally located that we could walk anywhere in Eger. Good food and excellent dining. Staff very friendly and accommodating. No
The hotel has a new annex with a few new rooms. We stayed in one of these. It had modern furnishings and was very comfortable. And its location in Eger is excellent. not really
Conveniently located on the back of the square, below the castle. The hotel has a restaurant that was pretty good for Hungarian dishes too. Parking available, but about a block from the hotel, not too inconvenient. Good bearkfast
Service impeccable. L'hôte à la réception nous a même accompagné jusqu'au stationnement privé à proximité. Restaurant également de bonne qualité.
A very good hotel in an excellent location in the main square in the old town.Thehotel also has a very good restaurant and very helpfull staff.
The location: very central. Good food and wine. Relaxed and homely atmosphere. The single room a bit small. No coffee or tea making facilities in room.
The location is perfect, the meals the best we had in Hungary, and the hotel staff excellent. The hotel was a bit noisy late at night, but that came with the wonderful location in the square with the restaurant tables outside.
The hotel is just off the square and thus very convenient once we arrived there. The hotel is difficult to find, however, we parked at the tourist office and walk to it. They were very helpful showing us the way to the hotel by following them in their car. Another exceptional thing they did was that we did not get around to eating dinner until it was too late (the city closes up early). But they rounded up some cheese and bread after their kitchen was closed - very accommodating! The bed was very hard, but we found this to be the case throughout the area.
i only appreciated the position in the very center of the city and under the castle the rooms are aged and in disperate necessity of refurbishment, totally different from the quality of furnitures shown in the pictures and regarding the common areas. the rooms are coming from the seventies and show all the year that passed from the end of real socialism. stay elsewhere
Excellent location; friendly, helpful staff clean
It was:Central in the city - easy to reach from the autobus station - we slept good in the beds- we got help and answeres when we had questions. no, not that I can remeber.
comfortable. central, friendly staff, great breakfast
Staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Well posted signs lead us to Hotel upon entering town. Very Clean hotel. Nice breakfast. Carpet could be updated.
The staff was very helpful with city info and any questions I had. Breakfast very good. More the feel of a B and B in a small hotel.
Flexibility, courtesy and great English of staff.Breakfast and breakfast room, beautiful, location, walking distance from town, recommendations for restaurants appropriate to our group and value was great. Would and will stay again.
garden was a pleasant place to sit with a coffee, staff was helpful, air conditioning
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location
Helpful staff, great breakfast. Personable service. We were very pleased to have a fan in our room! Room was very loud as it faced the main road.
Some food at the breakfast was looking fresh. And, yes, fresh fruit would have improved it, as it was said earlier.
Close proximity to the Valley of the Beautiful Women & the main city sights weren't too far away. Wasn't value for money. Over priced for what and where it was.
Very frendly. The accomodation completely according to description
Just few meter from the Valley of beautiful woman. Location was more then perfect. Staff very friendly. Parking is inside of the hotel which is very secure. They very a beautiful garden and a nice terrace for breakfast. The breakfast is hungarian standard buffet, but sweets were good.
Ideal location for visiting Eger city centre or wine region of ' Beautiful women '. no
Position Reception/coffee area too small
Right in the Szepasszonyvolgy, 100 meters from the wine cellars, and also very quiet, no disturbing sounds at all. The indicated check out time is too early, 12:00 o'clock would be more friendly at least on Sundays. (Later we were informed, that they don't take it very seriously.)
The wellness center was really nice and we enjoyed it. The resturant across the street that the hotel owns was not very good at all. Ate there once and never again.
The staff was excellent and very informative. The facilities were extremely clean and in like-new condition. The location was great for an evening of wine tasting in the Valley of Beautiful Women, and only a 20 minute walk from downtown Eger.
Lovely hotel, nice rooms, comfortable and i liked the patio and small roof garden
Helpfull and friendly staff WIFI was not free and expensive to use.
I like the fact that hotel was in the middle of all the pools. Breakfast was kind of poor....
thernal bath and nice yard around it
proximity to Spa and pools in Eger no airconditioning
It waas one of the best hotels I've stayed in recently. Nicely presented, pleasant, helpful staff. Nice to have a thermal bath so easily accessible. My only caveat to the above is the absence of air-conditioning, and no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, but the latter is normal in most hotels in Europe.
Location is great: only few minutes from the city center and direct entry to the thermal pool. Great food in the hotel's restaurant - huge selection from the buffet lunch. Free parking place for the guests. Friendly stuff. Both room and bathroom were very clean and well prepared but be careful - the pictures at booking.com does not refer to the reality - especially bathroom (in my case of'course). The bathroom had very bad ventilation. Old and neglect furniture.
This is my second stay and I was again very happy with all. I will be staying at this hotel at least once a year. As before, tea and cffee making facilities in the rooms would be a very nice addition.
difficult to find
Perfect location in Eger, especially if you come by car.
Hotel is very nice place to stay in. It takes only 2 min to reach main square and city center by walking. Hotel is very clean, have good breakfirst and very nice hotel staff. I would add bed sheet in the closet. Some people needs to have blanket and other not.
A friendly staff, the position nera the castle, the garage There isn't air conditioned in the room
right in the centre, clean, big rooms with air conditioned. the buffet breakfast is good. as all big hotels, things are somewhat impersonal.
The hotel is right in the center of the city, at the feet of the castle. THe breakfast is included in the price and is particularly prosperous. We asked for a baby bed, and it was ready in the room when we arrived (with sheets) It is possible to smoke in the bar, at the entrance of the hotel. It's not very agreable when you travel with young children.
The thermal pool is very nice and the hotel is well located for visits to Eger and the Buck hills. You need to insist to get the room you booked and need to ask for a bill.
New construction. Thermal water within the hotel. Several, all posted in my complaints to the hotel mangement and this website.
Brand new complex with thermal bath and thermal pool. Comfy appartment. Very quiet location, good for families. No english speaking staff. Around 10 km away from Eger.
Good two-storeyed number with a kitchen. Free parking. Alongside termal bathhouses. There are the termal pools in a hotel. Low price. Free Wi-fi internet.
It was very clean and the entire grounds were in beautiful condition - grass, plants... everything was like a park. Unfortunately, the brand new pool was not yet opened, so we couldn't swim in the hotel.
Nice location, good swimming pool, comfortable for families with childrens
The staff was very professional and friendly, the hotel, room and spa/sauna were very clean. Some of the staff members seemed to be a little bit overworked; they were doing their best to behave professionally and they were very friendly, but simply forgot about things (i.e.: forgot about the fact that we already ordered something to drink: the asked the same question again; forgot to put an ordered diner on the bill, etc. It seemed, that the staff were in service in the afternoon/evening as well as the next morning; maybe the working schedule is just to demanding ??)
The owner was wonderful, he ordered us Pizza after a long journey and was delightful It was an uphill journey to get there
This hotel consists of two separate buildings not next to each other but on the same street. Our room was not in the main building where the garden is but we could have used the garden if we wanted to. The room we got was on the second floor, with nice furniture and a really beatiful view over Eger from the small balcony. It was easy to reach the centre of Eger and the Thermal baths by walking from the hotel. We enjoyed our staying for two nights very much.
Lovely sun porch. The "sheets" (bottom) was terry cloth and very thin (worn). Like sleeping on a towel. There was liquid hand soap in the bathroom but no soap or shampoo in the shower. no kleenex in the room. Poor location need a car or taxi to get to the city center.
Quiet location, 15 minute walk (downhill) to the centre of town, comfortable and clean, good views if you are lucky enough to get the right room, friendly staff. Ample parking on the street out the front. Breakfast is terrible. It's a fairly steep uphill walk to get back from town which may not suit older or unfit people. Wifi ok but signal is a bit weak.
It was pleasant and clean. The owner was nice and spoke good English. There was good wi-fi reception in the room. The hotel is up a steep hill overlooking the town, and it is quite a climb to get there. It is rather close to the castle (although still not just by it), but not so close to the centre of the town.
The building and the rooms were nice. There is a beautiful Garden there as well. The owner of the House was very friendly. They asked for the Money two days before we were leaving. The other thing was that we did not get new towels before i have asked for it.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Great views from our bedroom. Nice atmosphere in the hotel. Easily accessible to walk into town. Suprised that we had to pay E8.00 per night for air conditioning
Very nice view. We've got the room with the view to the Eger hill (mountain?). Helpful personal. Cosy interiors. Rather few parking places. Poor internet connection.
Small family driven hotel. Service is personal and friendly due to small size of a hotel.
Hotel is perfectly located up the hill on the outscarts of Eger. It is reccommended for those who are seeking quiet place. We liked the room and furnitures. Hotel is equipped with good quality furnitures, bathrooms are nice. We arrived to the hotel late (after 11 p.m.) but owner was waiting for us, it was nice. We stayed in the hotel for 7 days in July. General impression is good. But in our opinion the overall rating is too high. What should be improved? Breakfasts are almost everyday the same, quality of food is poor. Payment can be done only in cash which is rather unusual nowadays. Owner of the hotel started to ask us for final payment 4 days before our scheduled check out.
