Meal, service, hotel staff to small lights in room
Only spent one night but we were very comfortable in a family room that had four beds, very comfortable, nicely appointed rooms. Beautiful woodwork in this charming hotel in bedrooms and dining room. All inclusive meant there were snacks and beverages available at all times in the lobby area, in addition to meals. I believe this hotel will not disappoint anyone looking for a charming trip to the gorgeous resort town of Ehrwald.
The family that owns the hotel is very hands on and involved in the day to day running of things. They made us feel extremely welcome and took a personal interest in all the guests. At time of our visit part of the spa facilites (outdoor pool and whirlpool) were closed. We stayed in one of the older rooms; nice and clean but a bit dated.
The most part of the staff was wonderful--there was however one lady with black hair that was not very friendly or kind--the rest deserved top rating
This hotel is very clean and well run. Staff was very accomodating and friendly. We enjoyed our stay here.
Price to value was very good There were no shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom
Great location and room had plenty of space for the three of us with great view off back balcony. Breakfast was outstanding and staff helpful.
This property is located in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable! The views out our window were stunning, made all the better by the ringing of churchbells and the faint sounds of cowbells in the distance. Meals were excellent! The entire property is very clean and well kept. You will not regret choosing this hotel!
Empathetic and friendly hostess. Rooms and beds are satisfying. A lot of choice at the breakfast. During the low season this hotel wants to be a pension. They close down the hotel in the evening and it's not possible to order anything. The coffee during breakfast is bad. In this day and age of perfect coffee machines they should invest in better equipment.
This is an incredibly well kept properly. The staff take pride in serving their guests and, despite some deficiencies in speaking English, do a great job of providing a clean, comfortable hotel experiment. I love the tranquil community that this hotel is in and found the views and walks thru the town wonderful. While not that important to me, I can imagine my wife, mother and mother-in-law would love how the hotel is decorated. It's very creative and tastefully done. The interior is both clean and quiet. While the single room was not huge, the bathroom was larger than expected (a pleasant surprise) and the bed comfortable. I don't often stay at a hotel where I could imagine spending 50% more a night and still feel like I got a good value but that's how I felt after staying here. Although I did not have exceptionally large luggage and the stairs are actually very wide, you'll still have to carry items up stairs to rooms on the upper levels. Also, this is a very quiet comfortable hotel which is exclusively targeted to adults/couples. If you have a family with smaller children (like I do), staying here might be a bit frustrating as I cannot stay here if I return with may family. I debated not staying at this properly for that reason alone but was ultimately happy that I did.
The staff was helpful. Buffet breakfast was good. The view from the balcony is beautiful. Close to the Zugspitze cable car that also cheaper and faster than from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the hotel description it is mentioned that there is no internet and that they do not accept credit card. We were surprised – credit card was accepted and also Wi-Fi internet was available in the lobby There were no free parking place in the evening.
Value for money and what we expected for a one night stay
excellent location, views to die for. cannot blame hotel for weather, it rained
The location and the scenery were superb. The breakfasts were fine. The rooms were reasonably clean The hotel badly needs updating. The beds and lighting are new but some of the other furniture dates from the 1950s or 1960s. It is a very noisy hotel and could even hear other people's beds creaking in the night. The corridors were very boomey and sounded like a prison cell block. The evening meals were poor (we found one of our desserts in the local Spar supermarket for 1.50 euros. Worst of all, the owner chain smokes and allows people to smoke in the bar area. The smell has permeated the whole building including the rooms and all of our clothes smelt of smoke by the time we departed.
Fantastic breakfast, good food and a great owner/manager who took good care of us. We were alos provided with a secure storage area for our mountain bikes and were able to leave our bike bags there for a week
Everything. There even was a balcony which wasn't notified during the booking; quite a good surprise! Actually nothing, just maybe not enough sunny weather but I think we couldn't blame the Hotel for that.
Price , situation, breakfast,staff None
Nice big dinner, good friendly service The breakfast needs to improve, more choices and fruit and vegetables
The owners were very kind and helpful. Breakfast is very nice-really good selection of high quality meat. Plus vegetables. Great view from the terrace.
This hotel stay has been an excellent experience for us. It is located inb a beautiful area, there are many interesting things to do, and the cost is very reasonable. Mrs. Wimmer was very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel very highly.
Great facility for a family with children. Dated decor but very clean, courteous, multilingual staff in a great village. Good value for the area in good proximity to many attractions, hiking, and biking.
Owners family was really welcoming. Good room, own kitchenette (though a bit small, but really ok and most utencils present), a bit old-fashoned but very clean, calm, friendly and roomy. No problems at all. Located at the southern slope of Zugspitze and merely costs a fraction of the money you`d pay leaving in nearby posh towns and resorts (i.e. Garmisch, which was 20-30 mins by car). Many nearby attractions, mainly related to walking, skiing, and similar nature-related stuff. All in all - very good. But do rent a car if you travelling there as it provides you with so much freedom. No, really ok. Some small problems like strange frying pan or dead batteries in the TV remote, but we don`t thing it`s a big problem.
It is located in a beautiful area, you can wake up and be surround of many beautiful mountains even the Germany's highest mountain Zugspitze! there are many interesting things to do, and the well worth it. Mrs. Wimmer was very friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel change of bath-towel till 1 week is poor if i want one new i have to pay
