10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host Alice was just wonderful. We got lost trying to find her house because our phones data wasn’t working for google maps. We got ahold of her by phone and she came and got us and we followed her to her place. Her house is set back off the road and was so peaceful. The inside was beautiful and comfortable. It is very private as her house is in a separate area. The kids loved the pool, especially since the day we got there it was 95 out. But the best part of all is that Alice is a fantastic cook. She made us the best meal we had in Portugal and we got to eat out by the pool under an olive tree! Also, the breakfast was fantastic too! She should open a restaurant. I highly recommend having a meal right there at the property! The house is about 3 miles to the town of Evora but it was easy to drive to. There were a lot of amazing things to see in Evora but it was fun just hanging out at the pool too!

Pros: This is an amazing hotel. It has one of the most hospitable staff I have ever encountered, friendly and educated, keen on sharing knowledge about the city (they even made their own map, and guide to Evora) without being overzealous or annoying. Services, rooms and food are top-notch, really excellent!
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff very very helpful; breakfast excellent; historic building and all public areas of the hotel were renovated nicely and maintained historic character of the hotel. Breakfast excellent. Parking and secure. Staff genuinely interested in service.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous, informative & warm welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, the french toast was amazing! I was already quite full from the buffet so they offered to make me a half portion just so I could try it. So much information was given at check-in about Evora, where to eat, what to see, etc. and a side trip to Monsaraz was suggested. Amazing!! The concierge booked a set prix dinner reservation for me at one of the local restaurants (Taberna Tipica Quarta-Feira) , best meal I had in Portugal! Even better than the Michelin star restaurant I went to in Lisbon. Room was lovely, air conditioning, very comfortable bed, very clean Wish I had been able to stay another night or two Parking available
Cons: I'm an early riser so an earlier start to breakfast would have been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect from the staff to the room. Like a gem on the road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast had a wonderful variety of fresh fruit, seeds, yogurt, cheeses, salads and hot menu. The food was of exceptional quality. The service was excellent. Beautiful food served with a happy smile from all the team! We were welcomed from the second we entered the building with Lucy moving from behind the desk to greet me at the door. I loved the authenticity and warmness of the whole experience. It was a better stay than most five star hotels I have encountered. Loved every second and found it hard to leave!

Pros: We loved everything about our stay. Great location, beautifully decorated, delightful staff with lots of suggestions of where to eat and what to do. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in the perfect location. The staff was so pleasant and recommended we take an evening walking tour of Evora which turned out to be the highlight of our trip. The building has been beautifully restored and the breakfast was amazing! Thank you, Valeriana!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I didn't realize how hot it would be in Evora, but I was very thankful for air conditioning that went down to 16 C. Loved the upstairs social area, terrace, and an honesty bar with great stemware. The functional and beautiful design was noteworthy. Breakfast was also great...variety, freshness, and quality.
Cons: We loved it all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very comfortable, although the room was not very big. There was a nice rainshower in the bathroom. The breakfast was awesome and the staff very friendly. There are parking paces reserved in a nearby garage. From the hotel all the sights were easily walkable. There was old pharmacy equipment as decoration from the people that had been living in that house, which I really liked.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: It is up a few flights of stairs, so I wouldn’t recommend it for people with mobility issues. I also wouldn’t recommend it for families with younger children.

Pros: The landlord was flexible and very friendly both on the phone and at the apartment. The breakfast was very good (with fresh orange juice, something very rare in Portugal) with croissants, muesli, bread, eggs, ham & cheese and yogurts. Very nice and new property, probably not suitable for small children, since it has a lot of design elements that can be easily broken. Contrary to some coments, it was easy to find a parking space next to the apartment

It served to you at your table and the choice is wow! Our room had doors on to a lovely terrace but it was too hot to sit out! The hosts (owners?) gave exceptional service.

Cons: Nothing at all.

Pros: Victor is a great host who makes sure your stay is great. Parking on site is a bonus and the location is fantastic in a beautiful city. The high light is the massive pool that we made use of each day during the hottest part of the day. Good healthy breakfast. Highly recommend staying here!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Lovely hosts. Nice pool!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is a 5 minute walk from the main square, easy to walk anywhere in town. (We also rented the garage for 5EU/night. Well worth it!) We had a room inside the main house on the ground floor. Both the room and bathroom were simply decorated, large, comfortable, and clean. The pool area is lovely with comfortable seating. Breakfast included breads, cakes, cereals, yogurt, fruit, jams, etc. in the lovely dining room setting. Victor is a wonderful host, both in his home and helping with plans in the area. He helped us plan our three days of sightseeing around Evora, including winery visits, castle visits and a cork factory AND after discussing options he made dinner reservations for us. I highly recommend. Casa do Escritor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We traveled to Évora right after our plane landed in Lisbon and Victor and his family gave us the perfect welcome to Portugal. Casa do Escritor is on an excellent location (~3 minute walk to Praça do Giraldo), the rooms extremely clean and comfortable, and good WiFi. I cannot say enough nice things about Victor. He’s literally welcoming you into his home.
Casa Morgado Esporão - Evora - Bedroom

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Casa Morgado Esporão in Evora, you'll be just steps from Termas Romanas and Praca do Giraldo. Featured amenities include express check-in, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super stay
Cons: Breakfast is very continental....
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and venue are awesome! Staffing is super welcoming and supportive to any matters.
Cons: Breakfast really does not worth it. Portuguese pastry/breads is so nice. There is certainly room from improvement. Our room (#1) particularly had a couple of windows without shades which allowed some light to cone in the room both at night (from patio’s light-floods) and day. They said they would take care of that.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Because of a communication problem, they upgraded me to a wonderful room with a view of the roofs in Evora. Lovely! Thank you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Balcony with windows that open was a real treat. Superb, helpful staff: Made restaurant recommendations and reservations for me. Breakfast in room a treat. Wide selection of cable channels.
Cons: Construction/drilling noise nearby was annoying. No wifi by swimming pool. Also, they Must be clearer that all parking ANYWHERE in Evora requires payment at a parking kiosk. Daily. Town map could be more detailed. Easy to get lost.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location near the Cathedral & the temple - also quiet. Great space and light in a beautiful old building. Very helpful hosts who were flexible with our early checkin - much appreciated. International cable channels available (not a given, even if ticked on booking.com). Daily house-keeping is a bonus. Very comfortable bed in the spacious mezzanine. Sufficient closet and hanging space. Bathroom also spacious (adding a washing machine would work here.)
Cons: Available living/kitchen space could have been better organised/utilised - minimalist, with kitchen table & 2 wooden benches plus sofa(-bed) quite a distance from the tv, with not a single side-table. Power points were not located near the table (which necessarily doubled as the desk.)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: ROOM was very pretty though the living room part could be more in line with the style of the bedroom. Staff were VERY interested in feedback, and I always love that. Very nice and helpful. Room felt very clean.. Bathroom was huge and well designed EXCEPT.... (see below).
Cons: There were cheap Ikea type cabinets ruining the pretty look of the bedroom. They didn't even open! They should be removed... Also, the decor of the living room - it's just ugly and the bedroom is gorgeous! I almost didn't take the room due to the living room but I was only there for one night... And the space was very large and the room is on the ground floor, which I need due to knee issues. The bathroom got wet and slippery after a shower and was dangerous to walk in. The pillows were horrible -- just big and hard. BUT I TOLD THE STAFF ALL THIS and they were happy to hear and eager to improve so they get huge points for that excellent attitude!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Huge room. Bed was hard, but nice linens. My daughter’s sofa bed I thought was way more comfortable. Nice, large bathroom. Very helpful and accommodating staff
Cons: Hard bed
6.8 Good
Pros: Location, decor, staff
Cons: Airless and musty, Windows at ground level with no privacy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked this apartment very much. There was lots of space for 4 people and the beds were super comfy. The location was central to everything we wanted to see and do. Our host was super friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the quirky surroundings and the adventurous staircases.
Cons: The bathroom was a little cold for me - we did stay over the Christmas period :)

Pros: This is a one of a kind hostel! Very well conceptualized to bring the people together. Contemporary decor, great atmosphere, spotless! I loved my stay!
4.3 Okay
Pros: The upstairs living room and the terrace are nice. The location is very good.
Cons: The rooms are so tight. It is difficult to fit the three floor bunk bed. The cleaning of bathroom was insufficient. There was not toilet paper most of the times (especially end of the day). Hairs in the walls. There is no shampoo. We have to buy as extra. Basically, the hostel couldn't face my expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is nice and quiet, and the staff is amiable. Located in the city centre, very close to the Praça Giraldo", is possible to visit the city's main attractions.
Cons: I don't have any negative opinion about the place. Although, I have to point out that, in the rooms, the bunk beds ladder should not be placed at the center.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very clean and comfortable with beautiful common spaces.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean.
Cons: The room was extremely small with barely any room for luggage. Cannot even imagine how it would be to have a top bunk. Host charged my new friend twenty euros for misplacing her plastic credit card type key. There’s not a lot of warmth, but good location and clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extra comfortable room for two with extra large bathroom and extra large and gorgeous balcony. Super super comfortafble place, much more then we expected. EXTRA polite staff, extra beautiful buliding. Everything was EXTRA.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super friendly and efficient at check in. The hostel is very new, modern and clean - it was more like a hotel. It is in a great location. The beds have power sockets and lights.
Cons: The rate only includes the bed & bedding. I was informed you had to pay extra if you wanted a locker and a towel required a 12 euro deposit (which was returned at check out).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly. There's a lovely lounge and a beautiful terrace to relax and catch up with other travellers. It's so central, clean and great value for money. Plus it has air conditioning. Would highly recommend this hostel.

Pros: Breakfast, staff, cleaning and comfort were all great. Location was convenient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pretty awesome in every way. Super clean, comfortable with enough bathrooms for all the guests. Excellent common areas. You feel totally at home. Room was great with double panes windows to shut out the noise and shutters to keep out the light. Breakfast was OMG amazing, all homemade and delicious. The hosts are wonderful. Miguel is soooo knowledgeable about the history of Évora and loved to share. He’s really passionate. And Raquel is just awesome. It’s clear they love running this place. Love the dedication to sustainability. Location is an easy, 10 minute walk to the heart of the action with plenty of free parking. We would recommend highly.
Cons: Only one negative. And this isn’t about the property exactly. We had the room on the ground floor right by the front door. And it’s an old house. So the front door closing is very loud if you don’t close it carefully (like many front doors in Portugal). In fact, guests returning at 1.30 am woke us up. Perhaps the hosts could show arriving guests how to slide the latch and close the door quietly ?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners (brother and sister team) really put a personal touch in the design of ZOETIC. It’s just beautiful!
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: As captured in its name, this place is an eco-friendly accommodation. Organic and homemade breakfast was delicious. The staff incredibly friendly and willing to provide any good tips about Évora and Alentejo region.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are the most friendly Portuguese people we've met on our trip. Got a great explanation of the area by the host and she indicated where everything was on the local fair. Good breakfast and the most silent airconditioning on our whole trip. The B&B is next to a busy road yet you don't hear the traffic (unless they honk), a supermarket behind the corner for some supplies for a walking trip and 20 minutes driving from Cromeleque dos almendres (bumpy road).
Cons: Got to get used to not having your own bathroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The position is good, very close to the center. The breakfast was nice as well, with homemade cake, fruit jam and the rest. The bed was comfortable.

Pros: Beautifully remodeled farmhouse in very relaxing, beautiful setting. Wonderful breakfast and dinner. Helpful, friendly staff. Will return as soon as possible!
Cons: We were disappointed that there were no horses available to ride when we came despite offering rides in property description and we were not contacted ahead to let us know it was no longer an option, even though when I booked I requested to ride. They did their best to help us find a way to ride and we ended up with a carriage ride around the property.

Pros: Beautiful property. Stayed in the suite. Our daughter enjoyed the dogs. Owners very friendly.
Cons: N/a
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property itself is large and full of character, making it quite impressive. The room/apartment was spacious and comfortable. The husband and guests/helpers of the owner were kind and friendly and indulged in some pleasant conversation over breakfast, something we really enjoyed. If you’re a dog lover this place is for you, there’s friendly dogs everywhere just waiting for a head rub.
Cons: It can get quite hot in Evora so oddly there was no AC or fans equipped in the room - perhaps it was only a matter to ask which admittedly we didn’t. Thankfully the nights can really cool down so if you a pop a window it’s not too bad. The downside is that the dogs begin to bark literally nonstop as early as 7am and the staff were walking past our open window which didn’t really fit with our desire for a quiet and private wake up. We found breakfast to be slightly overpriced and instead would suggest enjoying something comparable in the nearby village. The pool was quite dirty (many, many dead bugs) which made swimming a brief experience for us - disappointing that it wasn’t maintained better because it was one of the reasons we booked. All of these things may have been resolved if we had spoken up but we didn’t find the host to be in an accommodating mood or generally friendly at all. Remember to bring cash as they don’t accept payment by card! Not a negative but just a courtesy warning to other guests to avoid an inconvenience we faced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was nice. The serene nature of this location was beyond expectations. Peaceful, kind and clean, this place is a gem for a short getaway. Just off the beaten path yet not far from city center.
Cons: GPS doesnt take you exactly there. You have to watch for the sign before GPS says you made it. We were to call upon arrival, but my US Cell couldnt. So they found us anyway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the animals, the ambience, the other guests and our very friendly hosts.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything - dogs galore which are all very friendly - the pool - the accommodation - Enjoyed some late night beers with Wim Fantastic breakfast We'll be back
Cons: Nothing - it's a little out of town but no hassle getting a taxi which Wim called for us
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 5 star luxury in this spacious villa and annex appartments. Quinta do Cano overlooks the aquaduct and is just 3 mins drive outside Evora's historic centre. It is in a beautiful setting amongst olive groves and cork trees. Enjoy and evening drink in Wim and Moniques charming library bar, there is an option to dine to enjoy Moniques gourmet cooking, the breakfast option is an array of meats , cheeses, fruits, cereals, "eggs however you like them" says Wim. And of course Moniques freshly baked scones are a highlight. They were more than happy to cater for and very familiar with any special dietry requirements , home cooked gluten free bread in our case. The grounds around the villa are stunning and perfect for an evening stroll along the historic aquaduct. The have all sorts of information to hand about Evora, the local birds and wildlife, city walks, restaurants, they can arrange bookings as well, stellar service. The swimming pool is a great size perfect for cooling off , lounging by the water or enjoying the stars with a nightcap. One major point to make (part of the reason we chose this place) the owners are animal lovers in a big way. Children will love it as ours did. Their crew consists Three grand Irish wolfhounds , dachshunds, amongst them the ever entertaining Pebbles ). They also have two pet Vietnamese Pot Bellied pigs and four very healthy Donkeys, which the children were allowed to take rides around the grounds on with Wim and Monique. The dogs wander freely around the grounds have their own sleeping quarteres but are mostly bathing in the shade or playing in the sun. The rooms were faultless, tastefully decorated and had doors that open on to the terrace and swimming pool.
Cons: I found that the Quinta do Cano exceeded my expectations , however if you do not like dogs this place may not be for you. The dogs are all child friendly and very well trained and looked after soem where kept away if they were not behaving. But the animals are a plus in my opinion particulary for children that like animals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the Quinta was incredible! The place is gorgeous with incredible locally-painted furniture in the bedrooms, a well-stocked kitchen, plentiful towels (for the gorgeous pool!), etc. And Wim and Monique are fabulous hosts. Each night they cook a dinner and guests can choose to take part (for less money than a dinner in a local tasca). This was the best part of the stay for us, as we sat around the table for hours having wonderful conversations with the hosts and the other guests. Highly highly recommended! Wij kunnen niet wachten om terug te komen!
Cons: Nothing - the stay was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay here. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable; much bigger than we needed! The price was very good. We enjoyed talking to our hosts; they were a little stand-offish at first, in a "country living" way, and not your typical hosts, but they were really great people who we warmed up to quickly and enjoyed talking to. The breakfasts and conversations with our hosts and the other guests were great, and the hosts even did our laundry for us. Also: we loved the dogs on the property ❤ From little, barking dachshunds to the biggest dogs I've ever seen (Irish wolfhounds), they were fun to play with and pet and be around. I'm very happy that we stayed here :-)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful garden and swimming pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous property with attached apartments in extensive well tended grounds. Lovely sun trap swimming pool. Friendly owners and a menagerie of dogs ( some very big but all friendly, particularly liked the little dog who brought his golf ball to play with ) Very handy for Evora ( 2 minute drive ) and surrounding area. Apartment was very well equipped
Cons: Only stopped for 3 nights

Hotel bar has a very nice wine selection and good snacks. We just park the car and went everywhere walking, all the places are about 10min. walk, ideally situated. Underground parking is safe and spacious. We stayed on 3rd floor which had a large balcony with a pool view.

Pros: The hotel is within walking distance to the centre of Évora and easily accessible from the main road. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and quiet. The hotel is very modern and the outdoor pool is an added bonus. The hotel restaurant is not worth going to. The portions are small and under seasoned. The wait staff are also very quick to collect your plates. The breakfast and bar on the other hand are great. Great breakfast selection in the morning. The bar staff are very welcoming and offer a comfortable atmosphere.
Cons: Restaurant staff are too efficient and want to get you out as soon as you’re done with your meal.

Pros: Great location, really friendly receptionist who made recommendations on a map for me, tidy room, awesome little courtyard.
Cons: The only negative I had was the people I shared the room. This isn’t the properties fault but the people in the room wanted the aircon off and it was the day of 37 degrees so needless to say I couldn’t sleep. They were also very inconsiderate and kept turning the light on in the middle of the night..: again this isn’t the properties fault just bad luck for me

The decorations of the living room and kitchen are so nice and if I could have more days to stay in Evora, I would definitely spend my time in this hostel. The staffs are also kind and friendly, especially the University student, she told me a lot of things which are very interesting to know. I really enjoyed talking with her. The breakfast was also good, especially the homemade jams are the things which you shouldn’t miss it.

Pros: Wonderful and one of the best guest houses we have been so far. Perfect location, next to the main square of Evora. Very pretty studio with perfect balcony (with bath!) and major view. Clean and modern. Breakfast was good, simple but enough options, especially for the price (5€ p.p.p.n).

Pros: Perfect location, Cristina and David's courtesy
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location - v. close to the center, where everything is. Just a few minutes to the cathedral, the roman temple, etc. The host was great, offering samples of wine, and port. There is a nice place to eat breakfast, even if you are not buying it at the hotel.
Cons: Toilets clogged, and flooded both bathrooms on our floor. We were told this was the third time this year, and that they will be working on the problem. It is desperately needed, since we did not do anything crazy with the toilet... Historical building, I understand that it happens, and will come here again, once they fix the issue.

Pros: Charming, modern hotel in the historic center of the city, at walking distance from all the main sights.
