Cons: Mattress was very soft. Each to their own but we did not like it.
Pros: Fabulous location on the beach, loved all the fish in the water (bring your snorkel), church on Sunday, pool and hammock, massage lovely. Pizza across the road yummy! BBQ night good. Staff friendly.
Cons: Breakfast a little limited but look at where you are. Hot water very difficult to control in bathroom and some of the room a bit old but loved traditional architecture.
Pros: Beautiful location Very nice bungalows. The sea in incredible.
Cons: Too expensive for what it is offering
Pros: Brilliant location - beautiful lagoon, west facing (with stunning sunsets), lovely beach. Coral reef straight off the beach, with excellent snorkelling (might even see a turtle!).
Cons: Bathroom was dated and needs refurbishment (as other reviews have mentioned - mould around the sink etc). Considering the price, this was disappointing. Lighting in the room was very sterile (bright white lights). There were mesh nets across the outside of the windows to keep bugs out, but these all had tears which meant easy access to mosquitoes and other flying creatures day and night.
Pros: Staff efficient, helpful and friendly. Food was lovely. Wonderful location. Some activities and entertainment, reasonable cost. Suited us, 2 retired ladies, perfectly. Would recommend to others
Cons: Nothing really
Pros: Very hospitable staff, lovely setting and beautiful beach. Rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable bed and pillows. Bathrooms were a little tired, but in all a wonderful stay. Thank you all.
Cons: Smaller menu with whatever is the freshest food of the day that changes regularly would be welcome. Update bathrooms would be welcome. Also if the pool bottom was painted either blue or white it would look more enticing, however the sea was very inviting during our stay.
Pros: Access to the ocean via beach and lagoon was exceptional. Even if you don't get a water view room, you are only about 10 steps further away from water. Not too much to do on this island other than relax by the water.
Pros: This property is positioned in a very tranquil spot. The deep water swimming hole lures you in. Good luck trying to find the will to leave it. The staff, and particularly the waiting staff, are a real asset to this place. The sunsets are divine and the traditional fales with their beams, with intricate weaving, truly charming.
Cons: Yes, it’s true, the bathrooms desperately in need of an overhaul but the truth is that they’re not a deal breaker. You are at Le Lagoto to get your fix of sun and Samoan hospitality so you suck it up!
Pros: The staff really make this resort, nothing is too much trouble. Friendly, attentive and always keen to tell you about the local community and Savaii. The location is beautiful with the fales right on the water. Geat snorkelling right there but take a trip with Dive Savaii too, excellent snorkelling with a knowledgeable and safety conscious team; excellent value for money.
Pros: Would have to be one of the most amazing locations on a very beautiful Island Paradise. Snorkelling with Turtles at your front door. The most amazing sunsets and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful happy hour in front of the sunset and the breakfast and evening meals were fantastic. 10/10 and would recommend for anyone looking for the perfect getaway.
Cons: Nothing at all to dislike.
When you stay at Savaii Lagoon Resort in Fagamalo, you'll be on the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Lava Church Ruins and Saleaula Lava Field. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and a library. Guests may use a ferry terminal shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location was stunning, the restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner, the staff were super helpful, and it is located in a great part of Savai'i. The rooms were perfect, and still gave a great feeling of the local experience without being too much of a "resort".
Pros: Awesome accomodation right on the beach, great safe snorkelling, locals lovely people.
Cons: Food average.
Pros: We stayed in the studio which was directly on the beach, waking up and sitting on the veranda looking out to sea was amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Snorkling just metres from the beach was fantastic.
Cons: Even though there was only another 5 people in the restaurant my meal came 5 minutes after my husband had finished his meal! You'll need a car, there is nothing really to visit within walking distance.
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Nowhere on this property could you stay cool it was extremely hot as the accom had no aircon. Food was expensive and very little variety in the seafood choices.
Pros: The manager lady very kindly agreed to move us to a beach facing room when we complained. We did have to move once during our stay but we didn't mind. Savaii lagoon is more beach bungalow than resort and is a great place to just chill and go back to basics.
Cons: We booked a Garden view room but the room overlooked a large overgrown patch of land with rusted equipment. Horrible outlook and near the road - certainly not a garden.
Pros: Location and the beach
Pros: Great location, friendly staff. Small intimate resort. Low key and casual. Amazing experience swimming with a turtle when out with Dive Savai'i. Several dining options with another restaurant at the neighbouring resort and a pizzeria in the village.
Cons: We were not picked up from the ferry terminal as we had arranged. Also in leaving the driver cut it very fine to get us to our ferry in time as he stopped for petrol and the wait was about 20 minutes. (this was an external provider that die the transport - arranged by resort) Would have been great if they had had paddle boards and snorkelling equipment available.
Pros: The stunning beach: the sunsets, the friendly staff. The simple free breakfast served with a smile every morning in the beautiful Barefoot Bar & Restaurant. Kitchenette facilities in room.
Cons: That we had to leave.
Pros: AMAZING location - perfect beach and sunset right in front of the resort. Friendly staff and THE FOOD WAS SOOO GOOD!!! The 'outdoor' shower is sooo nice!
Cons: Three fans had be going at night but ah well! Well worth it
Pros: Open bathroom Spacious room including kitchenette with all facilities
Cons: Wish there was air conditione in the room.. in afternoon the room was boiling
Located in Manase, Stevenson's at Manase is by the ocean, within a 10-minute drive of Lava Church Ruins and Saleaula Lava Field. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. Event facilities at this resort consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Guests may use a ferry terminal shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely pool. Large fale where breakfast was served was special - lovely gardens, friendly staff, great location
Cons: Our beach front fales were quite quirky but a bit too close to the neighbours. Mosquitos were annoying!
Pros: Loved swimming in the bay and seeing the turtles, amazing views from our room.
Cons: All is looking tired and in need of a refit. Pool chairs broken, power points in our room not fixed to wall.. buy some new pillows and give your staff a shot in the arm.
Pros: Good ammenities, staff were very friendly, rooms were nice and clean. Easy to rent a car - all round a relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: We were originally put in Beachfront Fale no. 1, which is 1meter away from the kitchen. The kitchen was very loud from 6am-10pm, and also attracted howling cats through the day and night. After talking to the manager, the upgraded us to a Villa as there were no other fales available (which was lovely). they apologised and said they try not to put people in that fale, but they were full. Honestly, if it’s a known issue - I think it’s terrible that they put people in that fale and wait for them to complain before they do anything.
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful in the Samoan style - good plunger coffee. The restaurant is by the pool and there is a good selection - lots of seafood - prices are reasonable compared to other similar resorts on the island and there is a cocktail of the day! The location is gorgeous, remote and takes almost a day from NZ to get to but so relaxing. We swam with turtles off our villa, watched gorgeous sunsets and have come home refreshed.
Cons: The only tricky bit was the travel as the resort is some 90 minutes away from where the ferry docks at Saleloga in Savaii - and it's important to time everything right and to allow plenty of time, but that of course is nothing to do with Stevensons itself, which was great.
Pros: Fantastic location with pool and deck beautiful. As with alnost everywhere service was great and very friendly.
Cons: Bit pricey for very poor workmanship in the renovated fales.
Pros: Amazing place to stay, great staff and the meals are lovely
Cons: Every thing
Cons: The rooms were way too expensive for what you get. The roof was falling apart and pieces all over the bed.
Pros: Arona was extremely helpful and polite making our stay a very pleasant experience. Telesia was also very polite whilst serving us. Overall, we had a very welcoming stay at Stevenson's and enjoyed using the various facilities that were available to us such as the paddleboards and kayaks.
Pros: The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was lovely and the beach divine. The only problem was the fale design of having a toilet in a cupboard next to the kitchen where our food was and the door didn’t close. Also people kept walking in front of our fale instead of going round the back. We especially liked the manager and loved the walk with Leo into his village. Thank you
Pros: This place was awesome!! We stayed in the fales with private bathroom! Highly recommend!
Cons: The food - overpriced and poor quality.
When you stay at Tailua Beach Fale in Manase, you'll be on the beach and 5 minutes by car from Lava Church Ruins. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The Fales were in a beautiful location. The staff were all lovely and the food was amazing - thank you Lua! It had a really friendly feel to the place and nothing was too much trouble. Great experience to stay in Samoa - unlike anywhere I’ve stayed before!
Cons: There were lots of ants in my bed one night but I think this was just the nature of staying in a fale!
Pros: Staff is great and very friendly and helpful. I felt like home, fales are comfy, food is amazing. It was quite a perfect stay
Pros: We swam with turtles in the sea right in front of our bungalows on both our days! Incredible experience. The local people were very friendly and helpful. The dinners and breakfasts were really exceptional, especially the day when we were the only guests. The bungalows are basic but sufficient and are nicely located right on the beach. The general location is very good for the marine life, the lava fields are near and the nearby villages are all very nice.
Cons: The water wasnt running for one day in the whole district but at least we each got a barrel of water from the owner.
Pros: Staying at Tailua was like staying with family. The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially Lua, she would do anything and everything for you. Her cooking was amazing and her smiling face was the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see before bed. I felt totally at home there and didnt want to leave. The Fales were gorgeous and in the perfect location in paradise!
Cons: There was nothing I didnt like about Tailua Beac Fales.
Pros: The staff are so lovely and accommodating! Happily supplied me with vegan meals. Beautiful location.
Cons: Quite hard beds and pillows, but we got used to the mattress and they happily provided more pillows.
Pros: The staff were phenomenal. They went above and beyond to care for us.
Pros: Exceptional hospitality and excellent food. Lua and staff were superb. Was lucky enough to see turtles!
Pros: Great hospitality, amazing location and great food
Cons: Clean towels in bathroom
Pros: Food was great, varied and plentiful
