Only several minutes walk to the beach! The location is convenient and close to everything. We booked the king room with jetted tub. The room was very clean, I thought the layout was a bit odd but we managed and it actually worked out great! The bed was super comfortable! I'm sad we couldn't stay longer because the rain started to come in and we wanted to make it back home before the storm came. The pool area from where I could see on the third floor looked decent. Each floor had ice and vending machines which was awesome! I wasn't hungry so we didn't look at the breakfast options and I'm bummed I didn't. The staff were pleasant. Overall, we'd definitely come back! Well worth the money! The jetted tub were a little outdated but it was huge!
Close to the beach. Two wall plus didn't work. Strong smell of cleaning products. We had to air out the room. Asked for a quiet room but room was facing pool. Maid came in without us having a chance to respond to her one knock.
I had a great time in my visit to ocean pacific lodge the room was great the location is excellent the breakfast was filling and delicious No smoking rooms or designated smoking areas.
Convenience to the shore/boardwalk and wharf at Santa Cruz. Quiet, neat room with a comfy bed! Breakfast looked pretty bad with various machines for warming up packaged muffins, bad coffee or packaged waffles.
The location is fantastic, close to the beach and downtown. Love that they have bicycle rentals now. The staff is great, very friendly and professional. The pool is nice and clean. We stayed here 2 years ago and it seems to have gone downhill since then. The furniture was beat up, the linens soiled. It was a busy weekend in Santa Cruz and the rates were very high as well.
The room was spacious for one or two adults, furniture & deco were pleading & not garish. The bed was comfortable - no soreness & refreshed in the morning. The bathroom's great - double shower & a separate vanity station so 2 can easily share & get ready simultaneously. The office & housekeeping staff were very nice, informative & accomodating. My son is ending is undergrad time at UCSC & I'm sure that I'll be staying here again this summer as we transition him to his next academic pursuit. Parking spaces are too small - some are just silly access-wise. Also, access to the hotel is right on a roundabout. This is a pain in the ass & will confuse your GPS app :( More of a city problem (everybody hates the roundabouts) than a hotel problem but be aware.
Our accommodations were excellent. Since we were staying 6 nights I thought we should have received a cheaper rate for Saturday night.
Staff was excellent; very nice and helpful. Location was convenient. Room was clean. There was a $20 charge for the rollaway bed, and $25 charge for a late checkout (12 - 3PM). Bed was a little uncomfortable.
The beds were very clean and comfortable. The vending machines were broken.. The parking lot was full on a Monday night and the spaces are so small every car was double parked ( very frustrating). I especially didn't like how the hotel sat on a busy street corner. The pool area also closed very early, 9pm which seemed strange for a vacation town..
Great location - quick walk to the water. Staff was great - friendly at check-in, brought us a crib for the little one. Pool and breakfast included. Obviously not a 5-star resort, but I would definitely go back for a nice, convenient place to stay in Santa Cruz
Close to beach and pier Breakfast, beds & towels
Location, close to where family was staying at the Beach Inn. Tight parking, old dated rooms, limited tv channels, & no espn, small bathroom, shower, toilet.
Free breakfast Baby cockroach and ants inside room... YUCK!
Close to boardwalk and beach
We were here for a wedding, we had 5 rooms in this hotel alone. Two were really nice. Two of the rooms were large. The handicap room was awesome, plenty of space for grandpa to get around. Online prices were great. Pool was warm and clean. I would stay here again, but recommended booking online to avoid dealing with the staff. Overall was a decent place compared to others that I have stayed in, in Santa Cruz. Staff was unfriendly, the woman was better than the man however. the man kept interrupting the woman while she was helping us. When we needed an extra night on one room, they wouldn't match internet pricing for same room. When booked online, it let me add a rollaway bed to my room, but when I got there it was an additional $35 charge. One of our rooms had hair in the shower, and algae growing in it.
The room was nice and turn down service was prompt and tidy.
there was a microwave and a fridge. i loved that the place was very clean and the amenities were wonderful. i will gladly stay at this inn again.
Good beds. Bath room sink did not drain, couldn't use.
So close to Santa Cruz. Also near food which is a plus. Quiet and relaxing and you get the HBO channel! reasonable price also. Provides a mini fridge and that's awesome. Towels are too small
On a family trip down to Southern California we were looking for a inexpensive motel to stay one night in. We found that in this motel. It looks a little rough on the outside but we were pleasantly surprised by how clean our room was. The room looked to be recently refurbished. The staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was simple, but good. If you're looking for a cheap room for a night of just passing through town, then this is perfect. The only downside to this motel was that our neighbors were coming and going all night. Luckily my kids are sound sleepers. Our bathtub was missing a drain plug. I was hoping to give my daughter a bath. When I called the front desk the man didn't seem too worried. He said he would bring one, but never showed. Also the beds were pretty firm, but for the price it overall was good.
This place was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was hot! The hotel isn't much to look at from the outside but it was nicer than a motel 6 inside. The breakfast was lame but what do you expect for the price. There is an amazing bakery like two blocks away called Emma's good eats or something like that. The staff was a little irritated that we showed up late but other than that they were great.
The price. The location. The staff were hard to find unless they needed to complain to their guests about something. Very unaccomidating to simple needs such as a working ice machine.
The only two things I personally liked about this hotel was its closeness to the beach and boardwalk area and that it was fairly comfortable and quiet What made this an overall negative experience was the fact that I spent 160.00$ for a night in a hotel that was worth 70.00$ tops
Lots of close businesses.... Clean A bit hard to find on my gps.
The location was excellent and the sheets were clean. The lady at the office was very nice and I enjoyed talking with her. Not clean. The adjoining room was scary. We ended up moving the mattress to the main room. The toilet did not work. The carpet was old and ripped up. The walls needed painting.
The price was good but you get what you pay for. The whole place needs to be rentivated.
It was close to the beach/boardwalk. Rooms needed to upgraded. New coat of paint. New carpet. New drapes. New pillows (almost thin as paper). Office should be open 24 hours.
nothing smelled over priced horrible parking dirty
For the price it was what we expected it to be. The pool and spa were surprisingly pretty nice, despite how humid the indoor pool area was. The staff were all very friendly. The room was falling apart, lots of damage. The shower was gross - not unclean exactly, but stained and possibly moldy?
We hated everything , so dirty and nasty... Left at 530 in the morning to head home. Everything !!! Horrible!!
Room disgusting, heard another patron complain about bed bugs. Property was filthy. Breakfast was cereal and donut.
The Travelodge was only a few blocks from the Beach and Boardwalk. W/o air conditioning nor a fan, I was surprised that I had to walk to the opposite end of the property to borrow a small fan to get a little relief. Bed was hard and the pillows too small/thin. Staff did not address noisy "Partiers" outside outside their rooms past midnight until two guests complained. The low price appears to have attracted rowdy young folks drinking & smoking Pot etc. as well as families and law-abiding, respectful folks
Clean rooms with a flat screen T.V. HBO and WIFI. The walls were paper thin
Located close to the pier and close to downtown. Breakfast after 8 am.
Location--close to beach Room needs renovating. There are two big holes in the tile around the lavatory.
Somewhat friendly , we went to a concert at the catalyst and it was perfect in walking distance and to the boardwalk. Perfect if you staying for a night. The floors were filthy, my socks were black. The parking fees and other fees added on at time of check-in that weren't mentioned at the time of booking, I was not pleased about.
Very good location nothing in special
Location location location Hard beds
TV and internet didn't work.
CLOSE TO WHARF AND BOARDWALK. BATHROOM DRAINS WERE PLUGGED. THE ROOM IS OUT DATED FOR THE PRICE. MOLD IN THE BATHROOM AND THE WALLS LOOK DIRTY. THEY CHARGED A PARKING FEE OF $10. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY A PARKING FEE WHEN YOUR A PAYING GUEST OF THE HOTEL.
I loved the closeness to the beach boardwalk and the down town area is so close Seemed like it was a more of a permanent residence for some guests we had to switch rooms because they were being really loud and obnoxious and there was supposed to be no smoking and they all were smoking outside our room. Seemed to be in more of a "upcoming" neighborhood. There was someone with a yappy dog that wouldn't shut up all night. You had to pay for parking per night and then there was never any parking when you got there! And best of yet the owners didn't seem to even care! i would have paid more for something better not a good deal at all.
Location. Simple aesthetic. Waffles. Dog friendly (even though we don't have a dog).
Great location, easy to walk everywhere in Santa Cruz: the boardwalk, beach, cliff drive, downtown. The rest of the crowd staying there was a bit rowdy (it was Halloween weekend). At least we had a very quiet room tucked away in the back.
I like to location from the beach and the hotel sersvice was great. I would stay at the hotel again and tell my friends about the hotel too.
Location location location!! The pillows were flat and uncomfy.
the location and parking a little overpriced for what you received...however, it was the July 4th weekend
Staff was very friendly. Room had a comfy bed with 4 pillows, small but very clean bathroom, nice TV and a fridge and microwave. The room was very clean and smelled great. There were a few stains on the chair and bed skirt. Location was a bit farther from the boardwalk than I though but that was my lack of knowledge about Santa Cruz. Still definitely in walking distance just up a hill and around a corner a bit.
The location is great! Just one block from the wharf and the beach. Parking available at the hotel so no need to pay for parking at the beach. The parking lot of the hotel is on a steep hill. The hotel was older, but the bathrooms had newer tile.
I liked how close it was to the wharf and the cliff There was no beach view.
Quick walk to pier and boardwalk! Quiet hotel, super friendly front desk. We would stay again.
Kindness and smile of the lady at the front desk The TV remote complicated and not user friendly. Hard to turn on and off or find right channels.
The location was great! Just a short walk to the beach and the wharf.
It is hard to park your car. But better than no place to park.
It is barely a hop, skip, and jump from the wharf and beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Next to an awesome pizza place. Clean, affordable and furniture was modern and new. Saved money by using the in room mini fridge and microwave for food. Fancy new door locks made the rooms feel very safe. The water color art in the room was terrible, so not my style No hairdryer in the room, though I am sure I could have gotten one if I had asked. But I brought my own. No in-room coffee, so I could only get my java fix at the continental breakfast.
The staff were pleasant and welcoming, which I find most critical to feeling comfortable. The bathroom felt very much enclosed with no window or mirror, which detracted from the room somewhat.
Location, parking and price. Love it all !!!!!
I like my bed to be firm and the one I had perfect. The location is the winner especially if you have children and you want to be close to the beach Boardwalk! The room was just basic and a little small but did the job. I would stay again just for the location alone. Breakfast was minimal, room was a little to bright at night, noise from streets,
Great Location. Nice staff. Clean rooms. Bed was a bit worn
Basic amenities. Good price. Great location. Internet was terrible.
Across from the beach. Continental breakfast. The Inn was dirty and not kept up. The pillows where misshapen from age, I slep with a shirt over it so my face was not on it. It was across from the beach. I feel the cost of the Inn I paid for parking.Because that was all that was worth talking about. I will not stay there again.Lucky we did not stay long.
This place was very close to the boardwalk and liked that it was so easy to find. Very clean and bill at the front desk was very friendly the breakfast was ok. This place was affordable considering we stayed during a week day I would definitely stay again. Limited parking in the garage but it was free parking.
I loved that there was a breakfast bar. And the beach is right out the door. The bed was comfy, but the pillows were not . And the rooms could be a bit more modern. But overall I would definitely stay there again. The staff was super nice, and always helpful with us. The pictures in the rooms were of flowers, they should be ocean pics. The pillows in our room in were lumpy.
Rooms were just remodeled and are very modern now.
The rooms were modern and fun looking. Staff was very nice. Very close to the beach! We had to switch rooms after we unpacked due to the electricity not working. It was kind of a pain. I wish there was more of a breakfast, muffins and fruit was not enough for the kids.
Really close to beach. 2 min. Walk We have a 19month old son so we wanted a place to stay that was close enough to walk back to the Hotel if needed Kinda loud at night time with other kids and family's coming back from the beach. It's totally understandable. Kids are jacked up from a great time on the boardwalk! Didn't bother me a bit.
Great location if you are visiting the Boardwalk. Room was clean, bright and comfortable. Organic soaps & shampoos. Wood floors, not questionable carpet. Decent continental breakfast. We will return! We didn't mind, but noise carries. You can hear the boardwalk rides while they are operating and probably due to the non-carpeted floors you can hear more sounds outside the room than usual.
Loved the hotel!! Great customer service and the room was very clean! Would definitely stay there again!
Everything was amazing definitely going back
The location to the boardwalk Dirty, and they are remodleing during early AM and into late PM. the bathroom sink was stinky
Location The neighbors were partying all night and we tried to call the front desk but our phone did not work. We then called the front desk from cell phones and no one was available. Incredibly restless night. We spoke with them and they quieted down but certainly no staff available and functionality in room limited.
They didn't have a queen when i made my reservation that's what i booked so they upgraded us to a king at no charge and offered to give us better rates when staying with us again. The fan in the bathroom was super loud. Ran out of toilet paper in the room halfway through the night.
The reviews weren't kidding when they said it was across the street from the boardwalk! less than five minute walk. Beautiful sunny day made the motel's ocean mural so pretty. I was only there for a day and it was a 15 minute walk to the Pacific Ave where there were stores, restaurants and Catalyst (where we saw my boyfriends favorite band D.R.I). overall great experience. If you're not picky and just want a place to crash, this is for you! nothing really
Honestly not much of anything. It was a rip off. Upon check in we were told they were in the process of renovating. Which is much needed!
It was right in front of the beach. Not at all what I expected, walls were very thin and we did not get a good night sleep, we could hear people on both sides of our room and on top of our room.
It was clean and quiet
Rooms were tidy for the most part. Close proximity to boardwalk and other shopping. Manager named Danny was very rude. Found bodily fluid stains on the headboard and when I asked for a different room he blamed the stains on me and my wife and yelled at us to check out if we didn't like the room. Extremely unprofessional.
Guy up front was very nice. Had Direct Tv with many channels. Fridge. Old, other visitors were a little sketchy but all was fine.
Price was right. It had a kitchy charm
The beds were comfortable, the water hot, and the room clean. The pillows were too big/hard.
Room was clean and fairly good location Room smelled . Breakfast weak
Close proximity to beach and downtown. Fairly priced (I went in January) we got a kitchenette and separate bedrooms within the unit.
Nice bathroom Beds soft
The room was cute, and the bathroom was nice. Very close to the boardwalk and restaurants. When purchasing the room, it said that is was completed paid for, and that HBO and refrigerators were included in the room. When we got to the hotel, I had to put down additional $100 deposit that has not yet been returned. In the room, there was no refrigerator and no HBO. We had perishable items that needed to be refrigerated. When we asked about the refrigerator, they said it was an additional $10 a night.
Location NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! Dirty, overpriced, horrible.
It was nice how close it was to the boardwalk. The staff was very rude. No greeting when arrived. After getting settled in our room (30min) in we were next to the cleaning room, so all we heard was banging, loud rolling carts, very loud talking of the staff and more banging! I asked the lady if we could switch rooms, her response was there is no rooms left, sorry " with a blank stare" like she was waiting for me to just get out of her office already. About 5 min later, a younger lady came by and said we do have another room. I thought that was strange considering how rude and adamant the other lady was about them not having another room. So she showed me the room ( I paid for a king bedroom), the room she showed me was a very very small queen size bedroom with a very small bedroom. It would have been ok with me because it was away from all the banging and loud talking from the staff, until I asked if it would be a cheaper price and she said no. How can it be the same price for a significantly smaller room? So I said no thank you and she just turned around and walked away saying absolutely nothing. Needless to say I had a very bad experience at this hotel and I will not be staying there again. It's overpriced, not nice and the staff is very rude and unhelpful. Take your money else where.
Close to the board walk and the beach Wifi never worked , the tv was going out and had a green screen
It was close to the Boardwalk and the Downtown area. The parking and wifi were free. I did not like the overall quality of this place. It was run down and overpriced. The "breakfast" was some sugar-filled, pre-packaged pastries and unnatural juice. The rooms were very small with tacky interior and run down aspects: carpet, AC/heat unit, dilapidated furniture. The sheets on the bed were clean, although the bed itself was small and uncomfortable. I didn't like the lack of privacy that the rooms offered - we had to keep curtains shut always because the window looked out to the parking lot. Anyone could just come up and look into our room. We had to pay for ice from a machine. Overall, I was very disappointed with what we got for our money. It was not an enjoyable, relaxing or comfortable experience. In fact, it was one of the worst places I have stayed in. It was an upset to a nice weekend away.
I love how close it is to the boardwalk. It's literally a 5 minute straight walk. Super clean rooms and comfy beds! Friendly staff too! We come down and stay a few times during the summer and I always pick this place. It's a great price considering the location and in regard to the many other hotel/motels around. That coffee isn't served all day.... :) I would love to have some more vegan options for breakfast like almond milk!
Other similarly prices facilities offer a kitchenette. This facility is bare bones.
the matress, and their helpfulness. parking
Extremely clean, spacious and well-kept room (with jacuzzi); excellent and personable service; perfect location to the Boardwalk; a great value - a wonderful stay!!
Hotel was very clean, nice pool. Great location
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. Free brekkie in the morning was a bonus. The location was very close to both the beach and downtown. Nothing about the accommodation itself. If walkgin in the evening, the street lighting on the way downtown is a little poor, although the area did not feel unsafe
Soaking wet carpet, wifi didn't work, staff couldn't find my reservation when I called, but found it right away when we showed up. Want to make sure that it is clear that we were at the blue Super 8 (West) as there is another location right across the street.
The owners awe very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The people working in the office were supper friendly To many stairs to the beach, maybe not the best location for seniors or disabled.
Right across the street from the beach? Boardwalk and peir. Super small rooms. Might be fine for 2 people but beyond 2 there is not enough room to mive around or even sit down. I usually stay at the dream inn which has much larger rooms. They cost more too though. To me its worth the added cost.
The rooms were adorable. Location ideal. POOL FREEZING. The staff assured me and showed me the boiler room where it said the pool was heated to 80 degrees. However the pool was COLD. The 5 year old who will swim for hours only lasted 20 minutes and then took a 20 minute shower to warm up. She has never done this before. The adults did not want to swim. We stayed at the pool side because the pool is a huge deal to us.
Location was the only good aspect of this motel. Room was.small, dark and dingy, tape covering the holes in the door. No shades on lamps, noisey neighbors, bed wasn't comfortable. We would NEVER stay there again!!!!! DONT DO IT!!!!
Nothing good to say about this place. Water pressure was bad, water temp. fluctuates, rooms are dirty, smell like cigarettes, out dated, place is falling apart, and service isn't that great either.
Absolutely nothing The staff was rude, the room was the worst I've ever seen, the grounds were filthy and delapidated at best. People live at this dump. If I had to choose between sleeping in my car or renting a room at this motel I'd absolutely sleep in my car. Steer clear folks, it's that bad.
Wasn't looking for the four seasons, but it's not as good as it looks in computer! Rooms are tiny and a.c. was loud. Got questioned when asked for extra towels!!!
Bed was too big for room so you couldn't even get to the bathroom without climbing over the web. Spent $180 which didn't included continental breakfast. Room only had two towels and one little bar of soap. I can't help but few ripped off.
It's walking distance from good restaurants and boardwalk and couple miles from downtown. Very close to the university also Cockroaches in the room, bugs that bites during the night, couldn't regulate water in the shower
The staff was friendly, the walk to the boardwalk was only about 15 minutes, you can leave the car parked and walk around as long as you don't mind a 1-2 mile walk each direction. Besides being bare bones (no provided towels, no furniture aside from beds, no covers on the light fixtures) the rooms were disgusting. The entire motel is run down and the room stunk, the bed sheets had debris in them when the blankets were first pulled back, and the walls were covered in graffiti. I would never have agreed to pay almost $100 for the room had I seen it prior to swiping my card. Pay a little extra to stay somewhere else. The kindness of the staff doesn't clean the bedding or get the horrendous smell out.
Nothing The mattress was old; the room and everything in it was old. There was no elevator. The rate was cheap so all the young drunk kids get a room there and screamed at each other until 2:00 in the morning. At that time another guest came out and screamed at them to shut up and called the police while standing in front of my window. I didn't take a shower because I just wanted to get the hell out of there.
NOTHING This hotel was not at all what was reflected in its listing. Yes, it had a king bed (with cigarette burns in the spread), but very little room around it. There was a hole punched in the bathroom door, the blue counters has ugly white caulking in all the corners. Outside amenities included 33 gal garbage cans on each of the walkways, anti-jimmy plates on the door, a clientele that immediately caused my fiance to say that she would NOT step out of the room alone, the aroma of pot smoking in the air, and the gate to Ocean St having a heavy chain and padlock. I found it totally unacceptable and demanded the reservation be cancelled (after a 1/2 hr arguement) and moved to another motel though because of the last minute arrangements we incurred significant additional costs. The room was nothing like the posted photos or the pamphlets in their lobby.
Nice location was walking distance to the boardwalk abot a mile walk there, so we drove. The staff was polite and no deposit required. Has Smoking rooms, which is a major bonus, and pet ok. Well bring your own bedding, the room was kinda cleaned but questions on bedding, I used my own. The police patrol the motel which I wasn't bordered although crime may be high, not sure. Homeless people around because of a 711 store across the street, but again not bothered by, I wouldn't recommend this motel for kids, because there's no pool, alot of weed smoke and potheads, and rooms are small. But if you're going as a couple and not super picky its not bad. I've stayed here before was about the same.
The location is excellent--right by coconut grove. Check in was a breeze, the staff was cordial. Smell of the room. Other guests were very noisy, drug paraphernalia found outside of the room in am as we were leaving for breakfast.
Close to the beach.. When I first walked in the room there were peoples things eveywhere. Apparently the people staying there before checked out but left there stuff in the room. Had to wait an hour till the room was cleaned. The room smelled bad. There was no remote for the tv. The carpet was extremely dirty. There was no ac. Which is fine but the windows had no screens on them and someone could just reach in grab something from that window.
Fridge and telephone did not work.
The location, and the office person was really nice. The cleanliness was poor. The walls were dirty and the carpet was really stained.
Comfortable bed. Bathroom, parking, it just felt dirty. No breakfast
Walking distance to Boardwalk, downtown and Pier Bathroom small and the recent remodel had over spray everywhere making it look "not" clean.
The location was excellent and it had a very 50s beach ambience It had no coffee pot or air conditioner in the room. And little breakfast didn't start serving till 830
The location was very close to the beach Service was poor checking in took ages, I hed to go back to the checkin desk on three different occasions to get my room card to work
The location The hotel employee who checked me in could hardly speak English properly and had a hard time processing my reservation. He also started shouting at other guests. At least the room was kind of ok, as long as you don't expect much.
I loved the location!! Pretty much a block away from the beach. I loved that I could hear waves at night while I slept with window open. Awesome price. Room was clean. Kind of smelled of cigarettes :d but got used to it quick. Nothing some Febreeze can't fix. Check-in/check-out was fast and easy. Free parking/wi-fi available. The only thing that had caught me off guard was a fee for having extra people stay in the room. Even though the room was meant to sleep at least 4. I had a reservation for 2 ppl/2 queen size beds. There wasn't any warning about the fee on the website. So, I arrived with three friends and the clerk told me there was a $15 charge per extra person. Bummer.
We were very close to the boardwalk and downtown. I wasnt to fond of the service. The rooms were also very small and not that comfortable for the price. It was over priced for sure.
Location is the only thing positive this place has going for themselves.they provide plenty towels. I wouldn't ever put this on my last resort list. No AC Rude staff Never answered the phone so I had to walk to front desk every time to reach them. Drug addicts walking up to your room high as a kite talking jiberrish. It smelled horrible & was basically a trash dump with trash bags thrown around everywhere.
Worst place i ever stayed at. I would not recommend this motel to friends and family. No cable they said it would be fixed next day which i was only their for 1 night, so I'm glad my spouse was with me. Room was not what i expected especially for the price we paid bathroom window had tape on window not sure if it was cracked or whatever, neighbors tv was pretty loud...
This place was disgusting. Shower clogged, telephone not even connected, no TV and the woman who worked the desk was unprofessional and not to mention all around unpleasant. She refused to give me a receipt after extra charges. I will be reporting the hotel And that employee. And, the review posted on April 12, that was the room they gave me, still in that exact condition. Tape over the window?! Seriously?! NOT WORTH IT
Price and location, Direct TV I called 10 times and no one answered at the desk, when I arrived the desk associates were a family watching tv taking turns trying to help me pay the $3 fee. The room was filthy, there was something frozen in the ice of the freezer that looked like an illegal substance, and there was a used latex glove sitting on the counter next to the TV just as I walked in. I will never go back to this hotel, it's a good thing I didn't have my family with me, we would have slept in my car.
Nothing Water damage and black mold in room, abandoned mattresses in parking lot. Rude front desk help.
This was the worst experience we have ever had and we travel a lot. The lady was so rude she actually walked out to our car to make sure we weren't hiding kids or other people in it. When we told her we didn't appreciate the way she was talking to us she laughed and said get out then but good luck getting your money back. I was shocked I asked to talk to her manager and she said she was the manager. My husband said let's go to me and she actually followed us outside trying to antagonize a fight. I was really confused and couldn't understand how a business can treat people like that. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AND IT WAS OUR ANNIVERSARY
comfortable bed lack of maintenance, worn out furniture, stained office chair
Literally nothing. At first it seemed like a cheap, nice place, but once we got here the $44 turned into $74 and we were not quite sure where the extra $30 was charged from, especially since they did not provide us with the "free wifi" password. It took 10 minutes to decide this was the wrong place. On the outside it looked super SKETCHY. The STAFF live in the space behind the lobby so upon entering you can hear them CURSING and YELLING behind the wall. They are the RUDEST people I have ever met & the UNDENIABLE SMELL OF WEED is not very masked by the in-your-face incense & the actual rooms are not much better. The FREEZING, "nonsmoking" room was drenched in the SMELL OF CIGARETTES, but this, strangely, was not the worst part. The VCR & other appliances were from the 90's or farther and played ONE CHANNEL. The walls & paint were covered in HOLES and a terrible paint job. The "white" BATHROOM WAS YELLOW and didn't even have a shower curtain. In addition the bathroom door didn't work. The pillows and sheets had holes and fuzz stuffing falling out and the neighbors seemed to be BANGING ON WALLS & doors in the 10 minutes we were there. In that short time, I never rid the feeling that the knocking was actually a hooker come to spend the night, as the room gave that whole "CHEAPEST RESORT FOR CASUAL SEX" vibe. Because they didn't have another open one bed room that we could breathe in, and we were only there for a couple minutes, we expected some sort of a refund, but instead they left us WAITING AT THE FRONT DESK FOR 15 MINUTES after walking out on us while we were explaining the situation. The young man (who was easily 12 YEARS OLD) sent in his mother to YELL AT US for not liking the room and FORCE us to either "take or leave" another room, which seemed to be just as bad. Upon leaving (as fast as possible) we passed open bins of sheets in the parking lot obviously crawling with BED BUGS. TERMITE holes littered the establishment. On the other hand, the room, comfort level, vibe, and staff definetly was consistent.
Possibly the worst motel I have ever stayed at. No A/C, no screens on the windows,T.V. was broken, graffitti on the door, the room smelled. The whole place felt dilapidated. Neighbors flushed the toilet and burned me in the shower I will never stay there again
The staff were pleasant and the room was clean. The motel was very run down; there was no air conditioning, which is fine in Santa Cruz in general, but the windows had been shut and the room was hot. The main windows did not have screens and looked straight into the courtyard, so keeping them open limited privacy. The window at the rear of the unit was very small and it took a long time to cool down. The place was noisy.
Small room, but included 2 queen beds as we requested and was very clean and well-stocked. We were pleasantly surprised to find the small refrigerator and microwave. The shampoo and stuff wasn't anything special, but there were plenty of towels, water cups, and more. We found plenty of parking and electrical outlets and wi-fi internet. The woman who greeted us at the front desk was great (although staff was not yet around when we were leaving at 7:45 am and their dropbox was well-hidden). It has a great location just off Hwy 1 and close to the U-Haul and Santa Cruz Diner and downtown. We were only there for one night, and it was great for that. The refrigerator was so cold that our food froze, but I guess we should have checked that. I also was freezing all night since the covers on the beds aren't heavy, but didn't notice the thermostat was turned all the way down until the next morning. I guess they don't turn the heat on until a customer turns it on, which appeals to my environmentalist side!
There was nothing good about this place besides it was sorta close to the boardwalk. They had no air conditioning. The staff was rude. And the rooms looked so dirty. Showers were tiny. Guess you get what u pay for.
